Hovering light Christmas Eve over Brookfield Connecticut 2003 Looking West from Brookfield thirty degrees to the right of the Big Dipper, and adjacent in Horizon to a triangle of stars, a light object that looks almost like a bright planet- but larger is going vertical then descending, then going verticle- this has been going on since 11:30 when I noticed the strange motion of the lighted object- from my perspective it apears to be over the Town of Bridgewater, CT. It hovers and stops for thirty seconds or more at the top then descends back down towards the horizon then ascends again and again. There is only one light/object, it's movement is not like a satalite, plane or ultralite craft.

It appears to be at an altitude where the wind can affect it as it looks to be pushed around by winds, ground winds presently around 10- 15 mph gusts, 31 degrees f. ((NUFORC Note: We wonder whether the witness might have been looking at a celestial body. PD)).

comet in sky? looked almost like part of the moon at first, but in wrong part of sky. then looked like a comet--with a bright light, followed by a tail. disappeared.

Cigar, bright light, I-395 CT, Dec 20, 2003 It was around 4:30 pm and we were driving down I-395 South in CT around exit 97. It was pretty cloudy when we saw a very very bright white light in the sky. It was right above the highway.

We were able to determine that it was not a jet but had a long cigar like shape (as we drove below it and looked up), there seemed to be a blue light on each side that flashed. There was a glow around the entire object and lights emitting from all sides of it. We were dumbfounded and continued driving.

At appoxiamately 10:15 I had stepped out on my back porch to smoke a cigarette. It was a very cold but clear night. I live at a high elevation and the stars were very bright.

As I stared at the stars I noticed an unusually bright blinking object. It was brighter than the other stars and was blinking with numerous colors at a high rate of intervals, unlike the lights of a plane or jet. I told my wife that I thought it was strange and asked her to come out.

I retreived my binoculiars (Belle Howell 8x40 extra wide angle) and was in awe at what I could see. There was a bright circuliar light with what looked like four or five rapidly blinking lights. The object was stationary and not emitting any noise.

I could not believe what I was seeing. Words cannot describe, I wish more people were there to witness this--- whatever, I dont know what it was. I then went next door and woke my neighbors and let them look through the binoculiars, there reaction was the same as mine.

I called the local airport in Oxford to see if it was a weather balloon.They told methat there were no weather balloons in the area. I have some of it on video.

I am not a pro so the picture did not come out to to good, but good enough. The object had moved further away at this point. After about a half hour it vanished.

I hope to take it somewhere and see if they can clear up the picture. It was at night so you can not make out any clear shape. I hope to see it again.

I was in my backyard viewing the lunar eclipse when i noticed 15 objects flying just below the lunar eclipse at about 8:10pm, they were in verticle formation moving very fast, I am posting this hoping someone else saw the same thing or maybe more than we could see at the time. This event happened as I was facing east from my vantage point, it was very visible without binoculars, even though I was using 10x50 binoculars at the time, I could still only see the bright lights moving in formation nothing more, the lights were bright white, they were only visible to me for about 20 seconds then were gone, if anyone else saw this could you post what you saw and if you saw anything else. I was also hoping that maybe the people who run this site may be able to contact air traffic control towers in the area to see if any military events were scheduled at that time.

Group of 6 to 8 luminous objects slowly moving form NE to SW in the direction of New York City. Out looking at the eclipes about 7:45 on the beach (Long Island Sound) in Old Saybrook, Ct. As I looked to the West, in the the direction of New York City, I saw several orange to white lights just about the horizon.

With my binoculars they seemed rather luminous. My first though was helicopters serching for something between New Haven, and Long Island. But after hearing the report on the Rense Show I felt that I must of been seeing something rather different.

Being that the lights were so far away I could not make out very much except they would loose and gain altitude, and seemed to have a light (similar to a search light)aiming downward. Over 30 min period the whole show seemed to move in a NE to SW direction. At times the lights were bright orange, and at other times soft white.

The orange lights would of been very intense of one was close to that area. Thats about it, sorry I was not closer. Ha.

We saw the lunock light for about 2 min. the took off in the light! My friend and I were sitting at home on my deck whatching the eclipse on November 8,2003. While whatching it we saw something that looked like a flock of gease, but it could not have been because it was very dark and silent we herd absolut silence.

There were three rows the middle row shorter then the other two.They were in a v-shape and were a brownish-blue color and glowing.There were at least 20-30 lights fliying together so perfect.

They were flying quite fast then all of a sudden it changed shapes. It had went from its v-shape to an oval like shape then right back to its original shape so perfect and absolute as if it never left its shape.Then it flew away past my house into the dark.

The next day my friend and I went to the library to reaserch what we saw, looking in two UFO books we saw the same thing we saw that night. It was called the Luddock Light. ((NUFORC Note: Please see numerous other reports.

We saw something I can't explain. As my brother and I and another friend were returning from a fishing trip in Riverton CT.on the Farmington river we were returning south on Route 8 and as we came over a rise in the highway on the left hand side we saw above a power station two objects saucer like in shape hovering above the station one closer than the other by approx 1/4 mile.

We had the radio on and all of a sudden we saw the closest object veer off almost like a shooting star and combine as one with the distant object and instantly disapear,as all this was happening I was driving and checking the radio static and trying to pull over we all saw this happening in approx 5 or 6 seconds.I was amazed to say the least and we got off the first southbound exit and turned back on Northbound Route 8 to see if we could see more.We pulled over for 20 minutes and scanned the skyline to no avail.

It was not from this world as I know it.I am going back their tonight after dark.

Me and my boss where driving on 691 from Meriden to Southington, I looked up and saw a bright reflection off an object but not like an airplane it moved from the left of the sky to the right and then to the left again. Then it got brigher and shot up I lost sight of it.

I LOOKED UP INTO THE SKY AT APPROXIMATELY 1:48 AM AND i NOTICED A BOOMERANG SHAPED OBJECT. IT WAS YELLOWISH WHITE IN COLOR. IT WAS MUCH LONGER THAN AN AIRPLANE.

I FOLLOWED THE BOOMERANG SHAPED LIGHT FROM THE YARD TO THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE WHILE RUNNING AFTER IT LOOKING UP. IT FLEW THROUGH THE SKY AT A SPEED FASTER THAN A JET. I KEPT MY EYES ON IT THE WHOLE TIME UNTIL IT QUICKLY DROPPED PAST THE STAR I WAS KEEPING MY EYE ON AS WELL,AND IT SEEMED TO GET SMALLER AND DISSAPPEARED TOTALLY.

flashing light with incredible speed and manuverability I was anchored in my boat 4 miles offshore about 500 yards from bartlets light. It was 8:30pm when we arrived.At that time the visibilty in the fog was about a half mile as I could just barely see the white light on the light tower.

By 10:00 pm the visibility went down to zero.We were the only boat around as the other 3 left because of the fog.We were planning on fishing all night so it didn`t matter to us.

About 1:00 am,my partner went to the front of the boat to lay down.I stayed in the back in my chair,still fishing.About 10 minutes went by and I happend to look up towards the sky and saw a green flashing light.

My first thought was the fog was just thick at low-level and I could see up some,and I could see an airplane so I began to look for stars or clouds,but could see nothing else but this green flashing light.After about 10 seconds this flashing light began to zip from left to right,with each zig-zag a little higher or lower than the previous.That began to freek me out because I`ve never seen anything move like that or that fast in the air before.

I called for my partner who was up immediatly.He saw it and we watched it as It headed straight down towards the water, again, very fast.I thought it was going into the water,but it stopped at water level and the light was stationary as to be in a *hover*.

At that time it was in front of us,just to our left.After a few seconds of the hover it began to move slowly by us on our left,still at water level.After it went by and was off the back of the boat we saw it go straight up,only about 3 blinks of the light,then it was gone.

He said to me WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT! I have no explanation as the way and the speed at which it darted and being the visibility, it had to be within 100 yards of me,and neither of us heard a sound,and it was dead calm out there. 5 lights bouncing across the night sky. My friend and I were coming back from Stop and Shop and we sat down on a bench for a drink and Salt and Vinager chips. Then I just leaned my head backwards and I saw this light that went west, then came out of east.

Then we saw 3 more following each other going south. But then the one that scared us, was one that west zig-zagging away in the sky. ((NUFORC Note: We believe that satellites would be the first possibility to be ruled out, but that is only a guess on my part.

High Flying craft dashes Due North at High Speed I don't normally do this kind of thing but. About a year to a year and a half ago while standing outside of my house, I happened to see from almost directly overhead a bright object, slightly brighter than a star crossing the sky at quite a pace. The light was almost constant but did seem to fade in and out as it passed.

I've been an avid aircraft enthusiast for many years and I can tell you this thing was moving. I estimate the altitude at between 80,000 and 100,000 ft OR HIGHER!. My reason for this estimate is the fact that this craft made virtually no sound and that I could see a contrail in dashes.

It appeared that the craft was so high that its contrail was being illuminated by the SUN. I feel that this craft was right on the edge of the terminator from its location. The contrail seemed to have an even pulse.

Also the aircraft was heading Due North (Not your typical satellite path). I could ascertain this from the fact that I can see the Big and Little dipper clearly from the intersection of streets I live on. I estimate the craft crossed approximately 30° of sky in approx.

10 seconds. The craft did not waver or fluctuate in course. It flew perfectly straight to the North.

The only reason I am making this statement now is to see if anyone else may have seen a sighting like this in the North East. I do not believe this craft to be of alien origin but I believe it could be the Aurora. ((NUFORC Note: Date may be approximate, although the witness does not specifically state that to be the case.

Satellites generally do not leave streams of material behind them, and they do not cover 30 degrees of arc in 10 seconds. If the object was, in fact, being illuminated by the Sun, it must have been very high. PD)).

Westport, CT possible sighting We (2 NYC suburb professional females, one late 30's and the other early 40's) were driving down I95 South from Fairfield CT to Norwalk CT. It was early evening 7:30pm? (dark) about 2 or 3 years ago. I am sorry I do not remember the exact date.

We saw an object in the sky that looked like a stealth bomber (black, triangular) with bright lights along the edge of it. It was hovering to the right side of I-95 over homes! We turned to each other at the same time and asked "what is that?". We rolled down the windows in our car but could not hear any noise.

If it were a plane or a jet, we certainly would have heard something. It appeared to be hovering extremely low to the ground. If it were a plane it would have been moving very quickly, and would have certainly crashed at that low of an altitude.

We don't think anyone else saw it except us. It is a very busy highway and surely it would have been reported in the newspaper (it was not, we looked for reports!). As we were on I-95, a very busy highway, we could not stop.

I (the passenger) in the car, turned around to see if I could see more, but could not. We had no explanation for it. We saw the Peter Jennings report and our sighting seemed very similar to other sightings.

My friend and I frequently mention this sighting to eachother and how strange it was. Both of us to this day, remember it very clearly. We just wonder why no one else saw it.

Metalic Cylinder with Humanoid Occupants Was working at my computer station late afternoon and looked up out the large picture window and spotted a 16 foot high round metalic cylinder in proportion to a soda can silently hovering over the parking lot of the adjacent office building next to the power transmission lines. There was a blueish green luminous shaft of light emitted from the center of the cylinder's bottom, almost like a flourescent plasma. The upper half of the craft had a large clear window and had two male humanoid occupants in brown military like uniforms observing me from about 75 feet away.

I got excited and wanted to share the sighting with someone and went to the business downstairs and found the store owner. We went outside and the craft had moved down the powerline a few hundred yards and was a small, not identifiable speck. Skeptical, he suggested that my sighting might have been a helicoptor.

It clearly was not.

it came from one side of the sky and flew across the sky over us (mom ,step dad me) it was almost dimond shape but cut off half a dimond but not a triangle it fle over us when we where about to enter are house. it had grate big lights 5 or 6 of them too big to be a planes and the weirdest thing was it was totally silent. I know what I saw and now I guess im a messed up person who saw a U F O! ((NUFORC Note: Apparently, date is approximate.

Small metallic saucer spotted over I-84 near Plantsville, CT. Small, disc-like saucer spotted while driving on the highway; appeared to be small, but moving very fast and flipping over constantly. It seemed to fly at a constant speed and altitude, and appeared to be made of a metallic substance.

2 ufos seen so.windsor connecticut,06074 My name is ((name deleted)) in april of 2003 i was driving on I-291, it was dark. i ws with a friend of mine, ((name deleted)), who has since moved to california.

we had our two daughters with us, it was about 6-7 pm. in front of us approx 15 cars ahead and about 3 full grown pine trees high, we saw a bright light not too big , shaped oval, like a hamburger. it had same size top and bottom but the middle was slightly bigger and brighter.

it flowed across very straight lined and slow moving it looked as if it was getting closer to land. we got off the high way and searched for it but it had been long gone. there is no over pass where we saw it.

My family also encountered one about 2001 same area, as a bright oval light, that came over their car many feet high and behind. only one. but it hovered there, my mother informed me.
