3 objects with a trail of smoke attached hovered together in the sky over the expressway While on I-495 S. towards Richmond, VA, heading home from work, I sat in very slow traffic and observed what I thought was airplane smoke left behind in a very clear sky, a perfectly straight line. I was in so much traffic that I reached max.

speed of approximately 5 mph every minute or so. This is when I noticed that the straight line I thought to be left in the sky by an airplane was instead attached to a light of some type moving slowly across the sky from east to west. This line of smoke remained intact with the craft.

I then noticed 2 more traveling together across the sky. I believed them to be normal aircraft until they performed a strange maneuver in sync with one another. The sun was beginning to set and the line of smoke attached to the craft was becoming the color of the pink sky.

The first object began to descend in a very slanted motion and the other two followed, one hanging back a bit further than the other. As the objects descended further, the slant they were on began to appear like they were taking a nosedive, then began somewhat of a hovering movement. These objects along with the smoke at their tail, which was now a very bright pink light as the sunset, appeared to stop descending.

It's very difficult to explain, but somehow the trail of smoke that was attached as a tail was now above the objects, almost like the trail was a very bright light being shined out of the top of the craft, but it still resembled smoke of some kind. All 3 objects just sat there in the sky. This went on for the 15 or 20 minutes that I was stuck in traffic in that area.

As I began to merge onto I-95 2 more lines of "smoke" began coming from west to east. I can not say what came of these objects, as they were out of my view as I entered I-95. However, this is the first of many observances over the past week since 12/30/03.

Green Fireball decends around Fort Belvoir Virginia I live in the Kingstowne community in the southern part of Alexandria. It was around 10:30 PM, I was sitting on my bed looking out the window. My view is from the third floor facing South West over looking Fort Belvoir and Davis Airfield as well as Lorton and Newington.

The clouds had formed a layer at approximatley 2000 feet. Below the cloud layer visability was good. All of a sudden an area of the clouds became bright green and a glowing green fireball (for lack of a better term) decended to the ground from the clouds.

It seemed to come down in the area of the Fort Belvoir Proving Grounds between Backlick Road and Rolling Road. It had an aura or fog around it; a greenish haze. From my house to the area of the Proving Grounds is around 1.

75 miles in a striaght line of sight. The core of the fireball was about the size of a B-B at arms length. The whole affair with the fog / haze was about 1/4th of an inch at arms lenght.

If it was a meterorite than someone should try to retrive it as it must be relativly large. It was not far away because the green glow in the cloud layer was a good referance point for distance. It came down about 10 degrees off of perpendicular.

Followed by Triangle Triagular shaped craft with 3 green-white lights, one at each point, followed us for 5 min. along Rt. 619 between Independent Hill and Brentsville VA.

Craft was silent and was an equilateral triangle with gray and black structure visible underneath. Approx. 150 feet each side.

Approx 500 ft. in altitude. We sped up to 80 MPH and it stopped following us and disappeared.

No "loss of time" by either of us. We are former USAF and understand that this craft is a secret Boeing stealth aircraft that sometimes lands/takes off from Langley AFB.

I looked up and saw what looked like a column of discs flying silently in formation as I arrived home around 10:pm 12/21/03. I was arriveing home around 10:30pm from playing a gig at a christmas party when, as I'm walking toward my house from the car, I glance up to look at the stars because it was such clear sky, and I think I see something like three or four falling stars at once. As I start to look down again I do a double take and they're still there.

I see these gray circle shaped objects moving across the sky from south west to north east approximately. They were completely silent from my perspective. They seemed maybe three times the diameter of Jupitor but not as bright.

I'm not sure but they seemed to be in rows of 6-9 across moving in a column. Their speed was about the speed of a passenger jet comming in for a landing at Dulles Airport. I happen to live under flight path to and from Dulles.

These craft, or whatever they were, seemed to follow that flight path. I have no idea what their altitude was. If I were to guess I would say maybe seven or eight thousand feet.

I can't be sure though. To give you some idea of what it looked like to me, the first impression I had was that of a planetarium moving the lights across the sky. Eccept the circles positions relative to each other were not stationary.

They sort of floated very slightly in relation to each other as they moved across the sky. I can't say how many because the column was there when I looked up. From what I saw it could have been anywhere for 15-1500.

strange blinking light(s) The first day I saw them was december the 20th I was sitting in my computer room then my mom told me to come here. She pointed to a blinking light in the sky so at first I thought it was just some kind of star, Then it moved. So my mom ,my brother ,and I went into the field behind my house and looked at it through binoculars and saw that it consisted of three colors red,blue, and white, and was a bit larger than the other stars.

Then The next day we went to look to see if it was there. What we saw was strange. Not one large light, but three different lights split apart from each other one red, one blue, and one white.

Just to note they formed a triangle. ((NUFORC Note: Description is not inconsistent with a "sighting" of a "twinkling" star, we believe. PD)).

Spot of honey-colored light, spherical- barely 3x larger than stars-seen from car Driving north on 29, about 10 minutes past Charlottesville. I noticed the stars were out (it was cloudy earlier) and very visible- Among them I could clearly see a spherical shape- not just a starlike point of light, maybe at most three times bigger than the stars around it- softly glowing a honey color. It was almost at the zenith, but just in front of us.

It seemed to hover, but it was moving amongst the constellations, so that ruled out it being a star or planet. After about 10 or so minutes (it felt like a very long time) during which the object had drifted off to the side (I watched it) the road became more winding and trees obscured my view. I was wearing glasses, so my vision was 20/20.

My roommate was driving, so she couldn't have seen it (looked up).

Outside smoking a cigarette when I look up into the sky and see a green ball go across the sky very fast like a meteor, thought it to be a meteor when right behind it there were two more green balls all 3 zipped across the sky at a enormous speed. Curious if anyone else saw them? I highly doubt it could been 3 meteor's in a row like that with seconds of each other. Now my 3rd report in about 6 months in this area.

oval shaped traveling fast and low started as a yellow white thick circle with a faded sort of blueish aura/haze, traveling above 66 west in virginia, not high, not low, flew very very fast and changed shapes from a circle to an oval like form, changed to white color, then sort of zig zaged, and then jumped as if penetrating into the sky, as each end of the oval crossed into one another-disappearing completely-lasted around 6 seconds.

ROANOKE LIGHT BALL OR CRAFT - DECEMBER 2003 I was driving south on Route 460 coming from Lynchburg VA and looked at the sky when I saw a brilliant ball of light. First I thought that is was an aeroplane, but when it did not move for minutes at a time, I decided it must be a star. At the moment, the dusk was starting to fall and the other stars were not out;it is not uncommon to see the north star at dusk.

One thing was, the light was getting brighter with a brilliant white glow. I called my father to let him know about it in Roanoke; he confirmed what I was seeing. When I arrived at my house in Roanoke, I pulled out the binoculars and telescope.

With the binoculars I could see a round light with a spiderweb like texture (i.e. Binoculars may cause distortion from the distance and brightness).

I noticed that there was an unusual amount of aeroplane activity in the sky and around the object. I pulled out the telescope and positioned it to the ball of light. Each time I went to look through the telescope the light moved downward like it was landing.

I pulled up my telescope from the back yard to the front to gain a better view and by the time I made it to the front yard, which took about 30 seconds, the light was gone. I had my scanner on and heard usual police activity in the area, but some messages confused me that come over the air; Some of which were morse code, and someone said "Turn down the lights and the talking so we dont spook the horses", that meaning I have no idea. I drove to the Roanoke Regional Airport and found no activity of Military presense, and I called the security office at the airport, which they acted as if they did not know what was going on.

Roanoke has been a hotbed of activity in the last several months with military presense, mostly the Army and Air Force doing practice runs and drills here. There have been a few UFO incidents in the sky with tractor trailer shape aircraft shooting fine mist and floating long distances on that single shot.

Zipping White Light. I was looking out my window at the sky and saw this weird white light zipping across the sky moving fast and changing directions. It was very small but definitely noticeable.

pyramidal craft daylight sighting At 2:00 pm in the evening as I was chating with my neighbors, it was a bright sunny day, we witnessed a craft pass over and travel due south at about 15 mph. It was pyramidal in form approximately 20 feet tall and 8 feet wide at the base with some sort of rigging at the bottom. it was bright yellow in color and made no noise.

It crossed above us at a height of 35 feet off the ground and a distance from us of about 150 feet. to describe our location we live on a ridge top (2700 feet). the valley below us drops gradually (700 feet)and then rises sharply about 5 mile into iron mt(3600 feet).

the craft maintained its elevation as it crossed the valley util it met iron mt. at which point it desended into the forest. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.

This was pretty weird, we live in the country somewhat. My house is high on a hill and my deck you can see the woods far away. I woke up, to get the door, since my mother in law went country line dancing and was returning home.

Something had me look at the window in the family room and I noticed that something with Blue, Red, and White Lights was surveying (the only words I can use to describe how it was moving) the woods. The distance was about 5 to maybe 10 miles from my house, it was hovering over the wooded area just either circling or going back and forth. When it would move in the west direction, the lights red and blue would appear.

Then when it returned movement back toward the east a bright white light would shine down, like it was surverying something. I noticed it first, then went upstairs and grabbed my mother in law, and we both went on the deck to watch this happen. It would not stop and there was no noise coming from the object.

I watched it for about 10 minutes, then I noticed that another object was flying across the woods, and went in the west direction, this object was a solid red color, like a ball or something. Still watching the bigger object, another object that was white in color and long (cigar shape) went in the west direction as well. Both secondary objects disappeared from my view.

A V-shaped formation of triangles moving across the sky My girlfriend and I were out looking at the lunar eclipse when a wedge shaped formation of triangular shaped objects passed between us and the moon. They appeared to be fairly close to the ground, they were moving without sound, and they reflected light from the street. Our first thought was that we were seeing a flight of geese, but then we noticed that the objects were reflecting light.

My girlfriend thought they may have been fireworks, but there was no concussion, streams of light, arc of trajectory, or anything else that would indicate a typical firework pattern. The wedge formation moved away from our line of sight rather quickly and disappeared towards the eastern part of the city without a sound.

3 flashing objects moving , stopping flashing blue and red in the sky then disappearing in space i was waching the lunar eclipse last night for about 5 minutes when a low flying plane caught my attention to the north i was turning back to look at the eclipse when i waw a what looked like a shooting star at first in the sky but is slowed down almost to a stop and was kind of flashing red and blue then it stopped i have never seena anything do that befor and i was joined by 3 more people just off the parking lot to look at the eclipse when i pointed them the flashing red and blue what loked as a star. then this was cool as we were looking up two other flashing lights which were stationary to the right of the first object looked to flash diffrently at first then just like the first object blue and red then tall three moved in a weard zig zag parrern sort of like a Z or S and shot up inspace till we couldent see them anymore i know this was no plane or star what was it??? i cant explain.

sighting during lunar eclipse As myself, my husband and my 2 children were watching the lunar eclipse, only my 13 year old son and I saw at the same time, an almost V-shaped object of dim light glide across the sky under the moon from left to right. I asked my husband if he saw it and by the time I had looked away and tried to point it out, it had gone. I was thrilled when my son said he had seen it also and we had seen the same exact thing.

No flashing lights, no sound.

6-8 Bright lights, in a line. Moving slowly north. Over or near Old Town Alexandria/Potomac River.

I was stopped at a light facing east. It was dark, and there was an overcast. While looking up at the traffic light, I noticed a series of white lights (maybe yellow).

Maybe 6 or 8 in a tight line. They were heading north/northeast. Between the overcast and the distance, it was to difficult to make out a distinct shape.

If I had to guess, I would say that it was cigar shaped. I've lived in the area for a couple of years. I've seen 100's of airplanes take off and land at Regan National Airport.

Airplanes are pretty easily recognizable at the elevation you see them coming and going from an airport only a few miles away. It was extraodinarily large, and moving slow. Coincidentally (or not) as the object moved out of sight, sirens begun blaring and in the intersection behind me I could see (through my rear view) a couple of black Surburbans (tinted with the dashboard police lights) fly through the intersection.

They were escorted by a couple of city police. They too were heading north. That in itself isn't too alarming.

I also worked in D.C. for a couple of years a grew accustomed to the Secret Service/FBI (whoever) Surburbans speeding all over the place.

But in Alexandria, escorted by police, it seemed a little out of place. I would urge anyone reading this, who might have seen the same thing to file a report.
