Two large Red Lights and a whistle sound. There was a very low object, just above the tree tops, going across the sky above our house. The sound was a low humming or whistle sound.

There were 2 red lights in verticle alignment. The object was moving from SSE to NNW very slowly. Other neighbors also came out when the sound was heard.

There are no airports within 15-20 miles from my house.

Multiple cluster of lights (more than eight) in an arc appear momentarily for roughly 30 seconds at night. While driving home from work, I was nearing the Interstate overpass near Exit 4, just outside of Clarksville, TN (heading into town), I observed a number of lights beginning to appear. Shaped in somewhat of an arc, there were more than 8 of these lights.

All white in color, and clustered close together. It almost appeared to be an effect of something breaking through cloud cover. The brightness was intense.

The object(s?) did not appear to move as I had pulled over to the side of the road to watch from a stationary vantage point. The object(s?) were stationary during their entire appearance. And just as they had appeared all at once, they "went out" in the same fashion.

The direction I observed these/this object(s?) was towards the Fort Campbell, KY side of Clarksville. Although I would guess that the distance was not far enough away to place it on the post. This could have been maybe up to 4 miles away from my position.

As to the size, I'm guessing VERY VERY LARGE.

Triangle shaped object with lights hovering at the side of our house. Since we moved here a year and a half ago, we have seen many strange things in the sky (lights, objects, etc.).

Tonight there was a triangle shaped object with lights and no sound hovering over the trees on the far side of the house. It then started moving and came above the house and off to the east. Two of us watched this object glide directly over the house and off.

The whole thing lasted about two to three minutes and then it was gone. There was absolutely no noise. I don't know what it was, but I know it wasn't an airplane, weather balloon, or anything like that.

Very strange.

Moving orange light I was outside standing by a shed nest to our house. I looked up and through the limbs of a tree I saw an orange colored light, it seemed to move slighly back and forth, not a lot but enough to tell it was moveing. While it moved the light slowly would fade darker than back to very bright.

As I was walking back to the door of the house, I looked to the right and noticed the light moving with me in parallel to my path but never seeming to get any closer. Nothing really amazing happens but I just can't seem to explain it. The thing is it's happened that same way two other times, I go outside to get some fresh air, look up and see the light, it moves a bit and then moves with me as I go in the house.

I don't recall and sound or any other evidence that it was there . just the light.

I have never seen a weather balloon change colors and be bright enough to be seen at night, and travel at 500 mph. On November 27th 2003 I was flying from Pittsburgh PA. to Memphis TN.

I am an airline pilot. We were on top of a cloud layer at appox. 30,000 feet, and had unlimited visibility above in all directions.

At just about the half way point of the flight (approx. 18:45 local time) I noticed a bright object above the horizon. Thinking it was just a planet, I didn't give it a second glance.

About 10 minutes after I had first noticed the object, I saw my captain adjusting our TCAS (traffic collision avoidance system) to the farthest setting of 80 miles. I then looked out at the object and it was now below the horizon. I asked the captain if he was trying to see if the object was an aircraft using our TCAS.

He said yes. The object which appeared to be approximately 20-40 miles in front of us was now changing colors from it's original white, to red and green. At first we thought it was just another aircraft with it's anti-collision lights on until the color changes.

I was handling the radios and decided to ask air traffic control if we had any aircraft in front of us at a range of 20-40 miles. His reply was that we didn't have any traffic within 80 miles of our position. He asked me to describe the object, which I did, and then he proceeded to contact another aircraft that was at our 9 o'clock position and 80 miles from us, to see if they saw the object that I described.

They (the other aircraft) responded that they saw the same thing. We never gained any ground on the object and as we started our decent to Memphis, the object in front of us did the same. The object went into the cloud layer and we never saw it again.

The air traffic controller told us to keep him informed and that the object was most likely a weather balloon.

Serpentine object with windows. I am not crazy, I do not drink, and I am not making this up. I am posting this only because I need to tell someone and do not know who to ask about it.

Around 10pm I was out on my deck. As far as the background, the sky was off & on cloudy and the moon almost full. I have to call the shape of this thing serpentine, like 1 & 1/2 letter "S"s, and because it moved snake-like as it went across the sky at a good speed.

Definitely was no type of airplane, helicopter or blimp. There were approximately 10 windows lit up. I cannot imagine how any kind of "weather balloon" or kite could travel in this pattern while the windows maintained level throughout the entire path like it did.

I have never seen or heard of anything like this. Please tell me if anyone else has.

I witnessed it on my back porch a; an object hovering around with a bright white light with a red light behind it. A bright white light with a red light behind it and the color changed when the object went back into the sky turning it burnt orange.it hovered in the sky for about 2 hours slowly disappering and then it vanished.

Round circular object, small cross section Clear day with small patch of cirrus clouds overhead. My friend asked what that was over my right shoulder just above the tree tops. The event occurred next to the Memphis Airport, 1/2 mile west and about 3 miles south of us.

I turned and observed a Black round object facing me about 5 miles sse just observed over the tree tops. We thought it was a large bird circling. It was not.

As the round portion turned downward, we saw a cross section very thin that made the object appear to disappear. As it continued to turn or move, the what I call top portion turned toward the sun and was very reflective. It appeared to be silver, yellowish, and had what looked like a structure or beam across the top red in color.

It was going in a NE direction very slowly and rising slowly. As it continued a tumbling motion, the top portion fully faced us. We observed the red beam and the color of the top appeared to be yellowish.

It continued to do a tumbling motion. We observed what I call the bottom, it was all black and round. As it went over the airport, appeared to move north.

When it looked like it was almost past the airport, at about 3-4000 FT, a small aircraft moved below it at about 2,000 Ft. Once that aircraft moved away, the object appeared to go NE and gain altitude slowly. At no time did we observe noise from this craft, no lights, no string or rope.

We watched it till it got so far we couldn't see it anymore. Once we went inside, I called the control tower to see if they have anything or observe anything. Nothing noted from them.

Note: I work in the aviation industry, am a veteran and had a similar job in the USAF. Have been a aviation buff for over 30 years. I know the sound of aircraft, navigation lights, etc as this is a part of my job.

If this was a balloon, it would have to have been a very large one and at least round on the bottom, top, and have a very small cross section. It would also have to tumble in the wind and go with the wind. The wind was out of the SW t! o W at 10-15 knots.

Large seemingly round object burning up with tail that dissipated towards end of sight, too big to miss,orange tail My wife alerted me to something she saw in the sky to the south, southeast of our home saying "Honey, What is that thing in the sky?." I was working on my truck and didn't want to get up for nothing because of back problems, but with her insistence I got up and looked toward Maryville, TN; There was an orange ball falling from the sky with a tail (orange)that was traveling at what must have been an incredible speed. If you would stretch your arm out and compare the distance between your forefinger and your thumb, it was about an inch long.

This object had quite a tail on it for the first 45 seconds or so, then it seemed to dissipate to a certain extent as the object came further towards the ground but the tail flared up in the same orange color on several occasions. At this point I would have to guess its altitude at 2 miles, maybe less. I figured that maybe it was a satellite coming out of orbit, but the funny thing is that it was very close to McGhee-Tyson airport.

I called them and they said they'd seen nothing at seven o'clock, Saturday, October the eighteenth, two thousand and three. The guy I talked to seemed interested and said he'd call me back. For whatever it's worth, we saw this very thing and it was cool.

I've never seen anything like it except in movies or science news. My background is that I've always loved the sciences,fairly smart and am happy that I witnessed this falling object that no one seems to know anything about. Thanks.

Wish that I'd have gotten my camera but I thought it would be on the news about a satellite going down or a meteorite.

It stayed in the clouds darting back and forth changing shapes, it reminded me of a Dragon! It was a partly cloudy day at Warriors Path State Park. The Skies were blue and there were large clusters of clouds throughout the ski. Visibility was good.

The object was probably 2 miles away. It stayed in the clouds darting back and forth and changing shapes. It was dark in color and it would fly back and forth in the cloud.

At first we thought it was a Hot air balloon but it moved to quickly for that and changed shapes to much for that. It was to big to be some kind of glider or kite or something. It looked like a 50 yard tarp blowing around in the clouds.

I said that it looked like a Dragon flying around.

It was an object that changed shapes while seeming to be swooping down. It looked like a taradactal. The sky was blue with few clouds.

Visibility was good. The object I saw was about a mile away and looked as if it was getting closer. It was triangle shaped at first, and it appeared to be changing shapes.

It looked dark in color. It seemed to be flying back and forth on the downward spiral. Then it swooped back up into the clouds and was gone.

Bright light attracts 8 planes At approximately 8:30 Wednsday night October 15, 2003 I was setting up my telescope and ccd with my daughter. She noticed a bright light and asked me what it was. It was below and to the left of mars(I was looking SE at the time)and shining at the same or slightly brighter magnitude than Mars.

I looked in my software to verify that there was not a star/object that bright in that area. After I verified in my software(The Sky) that there was nothing of that magnitude other than Mars in that area of sky, I went to set my telescope up to try and photograph the object. It was at this time that the object disappeared.

We then noticed approaching out of the east some red/blue blinking lights. As they got closer we could tell that there was 8 planes flying two abreast. Two continued heading west, two circled around overhead, two went south, and two more went north.

This continued on for about 30 minutes with the planes continuing to fly back and forth, always two side by side. About 15 minutes after the first planes appeared, helicopters were heard but never seen. The planes were witnessed by myself, my daughter, and my neighbor(who came out to water his dog); however my daughter and I were the only ones to see the initial light.

I just woke up from a nap, and i go outside to jump on the trampoline and listen to music. I turned off the deck light and went outside to jump. I was jumping, when i noticed there were 3 lights, in a perfectly semetrical triangle.

It was going fairly fast in the sky, and it was kind of high, and I looked for about 10 seconds and it went behind the trees to where i couldnt see it. I ran to see where it was headed, and it was gone. This is the first UFO experience ive ever had.

A craft in the sky that had bright lights and vanished right before our eyes. In the eastern sky was what appeared to be a large slanted airplane hoovering extremely close to the ground. There were 4 bright white lights and you could actually make out the shape of the aircraft.

It made no noise at all and as soon as I saw it I told my children to look and as we were watching it vanished. The sky was very clear tonight and the craft was in plain view.

Object seemed to change shape while changing color. Could not resolve under 150X telescope. Unlikely it was a craft, but have not seen a celestial object emit this type of variable light and change shape.

Was seen in the low western sky, and dipped below our horizon but not at the same rate as the earth's rotation. ((NUFORC Note: We wonder whether the witness might have been observing vivid twinkling star, which currently can be seen in the western sky during evening hours. PD)).

I saw 3 things wednesday. 2ufo's and one strange thing. I pull security at a parking garage in the the heart of downtown.

I pull watch on 2 connecting garages, both 7 levels high. I generally have to walk through both levels periodically every hour. While working I generally like to star watch, so over the 2 mth period that I have been working, I have learned the star patterns for that area.

This particular night wasn't all that different than any other night. The night was clear and the stars were out. Because this was on early Wed.

morning, downtown was pretty empty. Let me begin by stating I saw 3 different things that night, also I am a black woman early 30's and in all my life I have never seen anything out of the ordinary. I am also a gulf war vet, who has pulled a lot of guard duty outside.

Let me repeat I have never seen anything out of the ordinary until now! The 1st sighting wasn't a vehicle, it was a thing. It was reddish-brown, had a tail, moved like a jelly-fish to elevate itself higher & higher in the air. After clearing the building it than went sideways to the right and after something shot out at it, it faded away.

The 2nd sighting happened 15 mins. later. The was a triangular shaped vehicle that a light at each point, this one is commonly seen in magazines.

The ship appeared from nowhere stated to take off in mid-air and disappeared again. By the way there was no sound with any of these events. I then went down to the first level to take a break.

When I return on one of the rounds, I saw object number 3. It appeared from nowhere, floated away from me then disappeared. At first I thought it was a plane, because of the blinking night, but there was no sound.

As close as it was, if it were a plane it would have made sound. Then I thought that it might be a blimp. But there was no larger upper body.

Also, the direction of the way if floated, a plane or a blimp would not have been able to move that way. I also thought that it could have been a helicopter, but the lights weren't right and like I said, there! was no sound. Well that's my report.

Flashing object Seems like same description as report in NC. Very bright, flashing, red/blue pulses. Stationary for about 30 minutes then slowly moved further away and lower.

Looked through a telescope, saw a circle with a maze-like pattern inside, with a dark spot that randomly and chaoticly moved within. ??????? Was this an optical illusion through the telescope? Just a twinkling star? But it moved! ((NUFORC Note: We suspect that a twinkling star is a possibility that would have to be ruled out, before we could conclude the witness had observed a genuine UFO. PD)).

A very bright, twinkling unmoving light in southeastern sky, about 45 degrees elevation. A very bright object, twinkling, but much brighter than any surrounding stars. Did not move, but changed color and intensity.

Could have been landing lights from helicopter, except for altitude and no movement. ((NUFORC Note: Probably a twinkling star, we suspect. PD)).

MY FRIEND AND HAD JUST FINISHED CUTTING THE LAWN WHEN THE SUN WINKED OUT THATS THE WAY IT SEEMED THEN WE SAW THREE CRAFT MOVING SOUTH WEST WE LOOKED AT EACH OTHER AND SAID WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT AND WHAT ARE THOSE AALMOST THEY JUST FLEW AWAY AT INCREDIBLE SPEED THEY WERE SILVER AND FLEW IN A TRIANGULER FOMATION THERE WERE NO LIGHTS ANYONE SEEN ((NUFORC Note: We spoke with this witness via telephone, and he sounded quite credible and objective to us. The objects that apparently had cast the momentary shadow were seen by the witnesses in another part of the sky, and they apparently accelerated very quickly, and disappeared from sight. PD)).

Four lights circling inside storm cloud At about 20:00, while I was watching weather reports on TV of a big storm moving due south into the Nashville area, a very strong gust of wind hit my house and I decided to go outside and check out the approaching storm. It hadn't started raining yet, but the wind was very strong and the street's electricity flickered on and off several times. After several minutes something in the sky southwest of me caught my attention--- there were four lights circling inside or above the clouds.

They were large and diffuse, much like those of an airplane coming in on approach above a low cloud ceiling, but there was no aircraft noise and they just kept circling. The path of the circle they made must have been at least a half mile in diameter, but it only took a second or so for each light to complete a rotation. I had been watching for about a minute when my next door neighbor came out on her front porch, so I pointed it out to her as well.

While we were watching, my wife arrived home from the store and all three of us stood in the front yard staring and trying to come up with a rational explanation while the storm got closer and closer. The only thing we could come up with was that it was a group of spotlights, though not once did we see a shaft of light from the ground, nor did it seem to be striking the underside of the clouds. Instead, it seemed to be coming from behind the clouds.

Every so often one or two lights would break from the circle and swing very wide. I have no idea what kind of promotional spotlights are on the market now, but I can't imagine one that could spin a cluster of lights that fast, or why someone would be trying to promote their business in this manner just moments before a huge electrical storm moved into the area. The rain began shortly thereafter and eventually obscured the lights from view, although we kept watching the storm from our porch.

The storm itself was somewhat odd, but I don't want to take up space describing that here. My wife and I came outside again at about 23:00 and saw the lights again, this time almost directly above us. The storm had passed but it was still overcast above us.

We watched and tried to determine a point of origin, but could not pinpoint one. Several times we noticed little clouds lighting up that must have been between the light we could see and its source, which reinforced our belief that the light source was above the clouds. We still never saw a beam of light from the ground.

Also, if the light was coming from the ground, it seems like the spots of light in the cloud would have been elongated at their furthest point from the source and rounder at their closest point, especially after the whole thing moved from its point before the storm to its later point that was miles closer, meaning the the angle from the ground would have to have been much sharper, but the lights seemed to be pretty uniform throughout their rotation. At about 23:28, all the lights disappeared but one, which stopped moving and then disappeared also. I half expected to see them again tonight and discover that they were just regular spotlights being used for some sort of promotion, but there was nothing to see.
