Green Fire Ball Falling From The Sky Tonight I was going to the grocery store going West on craige road when on the corner of my eye I see what appeared to be a green fire ball with a tail. I would compare the color to a bright green signal light on the street. The object was falling down at a diagonal direction, traveling West at a high speed.

This was the second time that I've seen this. The first one that I saw was back in January of 1999 at 0545hr. I wasn't the only one that saw this one which fell behind the mountains west of Las vegas.

I'm thinking that these fire balls that I've seen are Meteorites?.

Strange light formation on photo of night sky over Las Vegas My wife and I were taking photos at night on the Las Vegas strip, and didn't notice anything until we got home and looked at the pictures. One photograph had this strange formation of lights in the sky.

7-8 objects with green lights in las vegas My sister in law and I were going up the escalator at the new york new york looking at the eastern sky. I saw an uneven formation of tighly packed group of green lights in the sky traveling south. i then told my sister in law hey look at that and as we looked at this we saw that one of the green lights began to break away at a higher rate of speed.

2 others also broke away. i look down to see if i was in anyones way and then looked up again to se where they were and i saw an aircaft in pursuit. the green lights were vanishing in the distance and eventually diss apeared into the low clouds.

Bright white disc of light the size of a full moon approximately shot straight up into the sky & disapeared in less than 1 sec. At 7:45 p.m.

, I went outside to my back yard (in the northwest foothills above the city of Reno) to have a cigarette before my room-mate and I watched "Survivor" at 8 p.m. It was a clear sky, many stars, no moon up yet.

A bright white light almost directly above me and to the east a bit was moving slowly north, northwest. It was roughly the size, maybe slightly larger, than a full moon, but the moon wasn't up yet at that time, and this was moving. Not knowing the actual size of this object, it's difficult to say how high up it was, but if I had to guess, I'd say between 500 and 1,000 feet.

(Since I live in the mountains, I'm already at approximately 5,000 feet.) There was no sound or noise of any kind. I watched it for about ten seconds, then it suddenly shot straight up into the sky and in less than one second, it was the size of any average star in the sky, then gone.

Being a former Air Force brat and having spent 18 years growing up on various AF bases, I've seen and heard just about anything the AF flies, but I've never seen anything move at a rate of speed like that. I'd like to know if there were any other reports of this sighting from Reno or Sparks that night. ((NUFORC Note: We presume the date of the alleged sighting was in the year 2003.

Iam an insurance salesman born April 9, 1947, age 56. I have lived in Northern Nevada since I was age 16. I am college educated in the medical sciences and have specialized in group medical insurance sales since 1981.

I have never reported a sighting before although on two nights several years apart and many years ago I witnessed interesting phenomena that may have had mundane explanations. I had only driven on Highway 375 in southern Nevada one other time previously. A month earlier my wife and I drove down to Mesquite, NV together in daylight.

On this night, there was no moon that I noticed. It may have been below the horizon or not have risen yet. I was traveling again from my home in Reno, Nevada to my home in Mesquite, Nevada to meet my wife who was waiting there.

The night sky was perfectly clear and the weather pretty warm for this date in October. More stars were in the sky than I could ever remember, but no moon! At the time I began witnessing the event I will describe in detail, I was on Highway 375 aproximately 20 miles before reaching Rachel, Nevada. At this time I am not absolutely sure which direction on the compass I was pointing but my guess would be Southwest.

In any case, as I would notice later on there was a very bright star or planet high in the night sky almost immediately in line with my direction of travel. I was moving slower than normal because the area is Open Range and cattle are everywhere, sometimes in the center of the highway. Anyway, I was moving about 60 mph and very attentive to road conditions.

To my right, near the top of my windshield in the Camry, I was startled by a bright orange colored globe that "appeared" for about 5 seconds. As soon as I came to a dirt road on the same side, I pulled over got out but kept my motor running. In the night shadows I noticed a hillside that grew into a small mountain range about a quarter mile away and ran away from my position in the direction of light I had seen.

I guessed that the object was at least 10 miles away althought I had only the dark mountain range to relate to. It was bright orange, the orange was not pale at all but had a lot of red in it. The shape was like a fat cuban cigar, not long at all.

In a moment, I noticed two very small white lights paired together and moving upward from the horizon under the area I had first spotted the orange object. Then parted about 500 feet up from the horizon,going in almost horizontal paths 90 degrees away from each ohter.I followed the white light that was moving toward the small mountain range and it turned and headed along the range.

In a few seconds a jet began to follow this light closely. Over my car engine which ran pretty quietly, I could hear the jet engine. Also, I saw the flashing lights of the jet and it looked like the jets I have noticed in the air all my life.

Also, on this highway I had already noted that a lot of air traffic was evident on my left, very high in the sky but that nothing commercial was on my right, only these strange sights. It was so quiet I even noticed the noise of the commercial jets, as high as they were, earlier after stopping. After about 10 minutes the jet following the small white light was gone over the far horizon and I was looking for any other white lights when two more orange globes appeared briefly near the horizon that I had seen the white lights rise.

They were the same color and shape but they were lower over the horizon than the first orange light. The lights came on in sequence, first the one closer to the mountain range, then when it went out in a few seconds another to its left came on immediately and also stayed on for only about 5 seconds. The lights had a distinct fat oval shape and clear definition.

They didn't grow to oval shapes like a blast would but they simply appeared instantly and disappeared instantly. A few more minutes went by before I decided to continue on to the Little Ale-e-inn bar for a chat with anyone who would listen. As I again drove slowly down highway 375 toward that bright star or planet I reached a higher point and to my right noticed a few red and white lights blinking on the horizon.

This time the object seemed to be on the ground and could have been a small plan on a runway about 5 or so miles away. I kept on driving but shortly I was forced to stop again!Just to the left of the bright star or planet I noticed another very small white light that could have been a dim star except that it was moving in my direction and to my left at an angle away from the star. That didn't excite me but within a second or two after following its travel path, it became a bright orange globe, just as bright and exactly like the previous two.

In about 5 seconds it disappeared and immediately another appeared just ahead of it. The instant the next light went out a third appeared just ahead of it too! Each light was exactly the same shape, size and coloration. I pulled my car over as soon as possible and this time I turned my engine off thinking that I may stay stopped a while so I didn't miss anything.

The first thing I noticed was a low humming sound that seemed to emanate from every direction. If I had the engine running I am sure I would have never heard the sound! In my imagination I thought the sound to resemble a high speed electric motor that had become frozen. The second thing I noticed in the direction of the first sightings about 15 or so miles away was a white glow like a large city gives off when you are far away in a very dark area.

I thought that it could be Las Vegas lights but that city was at least 150 miles from my position. However Las Vegas is the brightest city anywhere and it was possible. While at this stop I almost immediately noticed several little white lights, like the head of a pin that seemed to wander aimlessly in the sky on the right side of the highway.

Most were pretty high up and a couple so faint i could only see them clearly when I looked at them with peripheral vision. In about 10 minutes I became anxious again to get to the bar and talk to anyone local about my sightings. I arrived at the bar but the lights were out, nobody home.

I drove a little bit farther, past the buildings and trailers untill I got to a wide dirt road. At the road I turned into I parked and got out because i was still curious and wanted to see more. I immediately noticed that the low hum was not there.

I also couldn't see any moving white lights, only stars. About 5-8 miles away, down the dirt road toward area 51 I did spot a lot of vehicle lights that appeared to be on high beams. I had noticed no traffic before this time so I decided to move on in case they were base security.

I witnessed classic "V" shaped formation of 5-7 dim, orange-amber like lights, traveling directly in a straight line from east to west. One in the front (lead) and 2-3 lights evenly spaced from one another, down each side. I was smoking a cigarette in the front of my house while watching a bird, for a few seconds, fly towards the east.

When I lost sight of the small bird, I was directly facing the eastern horizon. I immediately saw a small patch of red light (similar to a laser pointing pen) piercing through the eastern sky (approx. 3-5 miles away).

The patch of red light was at first (5-10 seconds) small in size similar to the front lights of an approaching commercial aircraft at that distance. After about 10 seconds, I was able to make out a perfect "V" shape outline of the craft with 5-7 semi-circles. I don't remember the altitude of the lights; my best guess is it was around 2000-3000 feet (?).

To make a short story even shorter, the object became larger and larger as it flew closer to where I was standing. It peaked in size about a quarter of a mile away from me (about one-third,maybe one-fourth the size of the belt of Orion). At that point I was able to look directly underneath it.

The lights were no longer semi in shape but full, orange-amber in color with a slight white-yellow haze. At that point I could no longer make out the lights original red outline.

blinking light vanishes into atmosphere I was out walking with my daughter this morning and we were looking at the big full moon when I noticed what I first thought was a star. It was a tiny pin-prick of light, but it started blinking on and off, slowly at first, and then faster on-off-on-off and then it looked like it kept going higher and higher into the atmosphere until I could no longer see it. This is the second time I have witnessed something vanish by traveling too high for the naked eye to see.

Yellow bell shaped craft in the sky west of Reno in late September, 2003. While returning from Boomtown near Reno I saw a yellow object in the ski that was like nothing I had ever seen before. I was about 7,000 feet up as I was around 4,500 on interstate 80 heading west toward Sacramento.

It was like a giant yellow light bulb but shaped more like a bell curve. It seemed almost translucent but it really was not. It was really beautiful to look at for the few seconds that I saw it.

I was driving and there were mountains in the area blocking my view after I came around a bend in the road.

I was returning from california I saw tree lights appear theiy were brigther than a star a little brighter that venus, they appear close to a star and began to disappear one at a time the shape was a triangle from the right to the left I was driving north and they didn't return (they may have being flares but the triangle was perfect they didn't last more than a minute, or mabe I just got the end but I don't think they ahave been more than a minute before I saw it, I was admiring how clea the nicght was and how beautifull the stars were) Please let me know if there is more reports about this.

6:30pm/star like object moved straight down from high in the sky and appeared to change speed. At around 6:30pm last night(it was still light out) in Reno, NV i was sitting out on my patio having a glass of wine and I saw a bright star looking object appear high in the sky i'd say maybe at about 70-75 degrees in the sky. It immediately started going perfectly straight down and there was no trail on it.

it definitely slowed down the nearer to the horizon that it went. it never changed its appearance and it looked incredible against the twilight.

Videotaped disc shaped craft in broad daylight At about 1900hrs PST on 21 Sept 03, at the request of my wife, I walked out my front door to look at a strange object in the sky she had seen. The object was quite a distance away (very hard to tell how far) to the WNW of Las Vegas. It was relatively flat, disc-shaped and dark in color, but otherwise, it was far enough away that I couldn't tell what I was looking at.

I ran back in my house and grabbed my video camera, absent-mindedly not planning to tape anything, but to use the zoom to get a better look at whatever it was. After I went back out with the camera and got it zoomed in on the object, it occured to me that taping it might not be a bad idea. I only got about a minute and a half of video.

The object moves like nothing I've seen before.slowly tilting side to side and front and back on a center axis. Unfortunately, the video looks "wobbly" in places because of the extreme amount of zoom used, but again, you can clearly tell it's disc-shaped and possibly had either a hole or faint light source in the middle.

might've also been a reflection, as the sun was to my southwest. Whatever it was, it slowly (relatively to me) moved off to the northwest until it dropped below my line of sight and according to my wife, faded behind one of the local western mountains.

Lights appear over football game in Northwest Reno At a high school football game in Reno I was watching a game with a few friends, with the up coming air races there were a lot of planes out I saw a set of lights that I assumed was a plane. They were a little brighter than a regular plane but I had written it off as being a low flying plane. Within the first few seconds they grew to be as bright as a set of headlights.

Whenever I looked up from the game I could see that they were still there and they had turned slightly and had a bright gree light behind it and every once in a while a light would randomly blink. I could tell the intensity of the lights because the street lights of the library just above the field were very dull compared to the set above. The lights disappeared three minutes later and then they reappeared and disappeard for about another half hour.

A friend of mine also saw the lights right before they disappeared. I was just wondering if anyone else in Northwest Reno had seen something similar.

Bright object lasting 10 seconds in the same area of the sky on at least 4 consecutive nights. Initial observation made on 08/31/03 with subsequent identical observations occurring on 09/01/03, 09/02/03 and 09/03/03. Observed bright burst of light on the dates mentioned lasting for several seconds.

Location midway between Polaris and Ursa Major all observations made between 20:00 and 21:00 mountain daylight time. Estimated altitud, well above 100,000 feet. On 09/03/03 a video camera was set up on a tripod and positioned to cover the area of the sky mentioned.

The phenomena was recorded as 20:36 and lasted for 10 seconds, motion observed and what appears to be a craft of some type which caused the very bright burst of light. Type of video camera, Sony 8 mm set for wide angle recording. No sound or navigational lights associated with conventional aircraft were observed or recorded.

This was definitely not a conventional aircraft observation. Sky conditions were overcast for several days after 09/03/03, unable to determine if the phenomena occurred after that date. ((NUFORC Note: Report was initially posted for New Hampshire.

Dark object over Great Basin National Park My wife and I were camping at Great Basin National Park. About 2100 we were star gazing with my binoculars. The conditions were perfect, no moon and very dark cloudless skies.

The Milky Way was overhead and very bright and distint. My wife put down the binoculars and and was pointing out an airplane in the distance. I looked up.

so we were both now looking in the same part of the sky and at that instant an object flew by about 1000'(?) overhead from north to south. It was traveling very fast and was completely silent. The object was very dark, the only reason you could see it was that it blocked the stars as it went.

the size was hard to judge. There were no lights on it but there was a faint glint like star light reflecting off of metal. It was gone in just a few seconds.

We talked about it and we both described the same object. I camp alot and enjoy star gazing. I am very familiar with meteors, Iridium flares, sattelites and normal atmospheric phenomena.

I have seen other things in the past but was always able to explain then away ( I thought ). This is one I can't explain.

3 UFOs spotted in Henderson, NV My husband, brother and I were outside in our backyard looking for Mars with our binoculars when my brother asked what "star" THAT was - he pointed to what looked like a star, but upon studying it appeared to have blinking red, blue and purple lights on it. We looked through the binoculars at the "star", and realized it indeed DID have blinking lights on it - they were very clear to both the naked eye AND through the binoculars. As we all stood wondering what the hell it was, we noticed it was moving very strangely - we were all mezmorized.

I was so perplexed that I ven woke up our next door neighbors and showed them as well - EVERYONE was completely amazed as it was obviously NOT a plane of any sort. We live near a small airport, and see planes every day. This was NOT a plane.

After leaving my neighbors, I returned to the backyard to join my husband and brother, who had noticed very clearly ANOTHER UFO hovering VERY close to the ground seemingly only a few streets away - it seemed to be looking right at us. We videotaped ALL of it. There was also a VERY unusual amount of military air traffic that night, and four HUGE lighted government jets I have never seen before zoomed over our house towards the objects while we watched.

Pretty freaky. When we went inside to watch our video, all of the close up footage was gone and almost ALL of the other coverage had also been erased, however we still have VERY clear footage of the first object we saw! ((NUFORC Note: We will request "still" images from the video. PD)).

Multiple objects over Reno We were coming back from shopping and I was getting some groceries out of the car. I happened to look up and saw 2 stationary lights in the sky. Both had the appearance of a star (about the brightness of Jupiter at night) and were roughly a few miles apart (best guess).

Neither had any color, the same color as starlight. Common sense told me that they couldn't have been stars during broad daylight so out of curiosity I stood there and watched. My first thought was that they were balloons very high up, but as I stood there and the minutes rolled by, I seriously doubted that as neither one had moved whatsoever.

I noticed, to my amazement, that the light closest to me had a very tiny light flying in circles rapidly around it. That disappeared and the two lights just sat there motionless. Neither of the two bright ones moved at all during this time.

I put the groceries away and came back out about 3-4 minutes later and noticed that the light that was farthest away had moved farther east of the other. Neither was moving but I know for a fact that the one had moved while I was in the house, it was visibly noticable. I sat watching for about 10 more minutes and nothing.

I found a pair of binoculars and had a look. both looked like stars. very high up and a simple dot of light, just like a star would look.

I went back in the house. and about 5 minutes later, curiosity got the best of me so I stepped back outside to have a look. Both lights had completly vanished but there were about 4(?) very tiny lights flying around.

all very small and much dimmer then the two before. Hard to believe, but they were flying around each other. kind of a dogfight and I had the feeling that they were very high up.

As I watched they all kind of just faded and that was it. Needless to say, I had a hard time processing what my eyes were seeing. Anyway, there you have it.

Moving star-like object seen in daytime sky. I was out on my back patio. I looked up in the sky and saw what I thought could possibly be a balloon.

I looked at it longer and realized that it looked more like a moving star. It was a whitish-silvery color. I called to my husband to come take a look at it but by then it had gone behind a cloud.

It moved pretty fast in a straight line. I didn't give it much thought until now. It was quite strange and I am sure that it was in fact not a balloon.

I am a 24 year old stay at home mom. I don't have a lot of interest in UFOs and the like but I thought this was worth sharing.

We were looking West toward the mountains where there were these three lights up in the sky past the mountains. They seemed to be playing tag or chase and moved extremely fast from south end of the mountains to the north. They did this for about ten minutes and then suddenly dissapeared as they kept heading north.

Las Vegas Fireball seen at Spanish Trails after the storm passed on Saturday Aug 16, 2003 LAS VEGAS, NV - SATURDAY AUGUST 16, 2003 11:00 PM after the storm. SATURDAY NIGHT - A friend and I were swimming at Spanish Trails when a decent (awesome) storm passed thru with heavy rain, thunder and lightning.enough for storm lovers to get out of the pool.

:) We waited and watched in the patio for it to pass so when it did move south, we got back in the pool. Within minutes to half an hour, I was sitting with someone and talking on a pool ledge. We both had seen a couple shooting stars earlier, very faint, far and normal, however.

facing north from Tropicana, and VERY close, we saw a bright white ball of streak heading straight down lasting for 2 seconds and then it turned green for another 2 seconds and it went out of view behind the house, but right after it cleared the rooftop, we saw a light of explosion (circular afterglow) just beneath the horizon of the rooftop, obstructing our view of the explosion. It seemed SO very closeby, it had to be within city limits or on the south side of town. It was big because the streak was wide.

The thing disappearing from our view (back of the house) but still falling gives you a sense of how close this fireball came to the ground. I asked people the next day (on Sun) if they saw it too but no avail, and I missed the news. IF YOU HAVE SEEN THIS EVENT PLEASE CONTACT ME.

Shiny rotating cylinders flying over Vegas A couple of co-workers and my self were having a smoke break on the fourth floor of our parking garage. The garage is open, and we were looking out into the open sky since there were no tall buildings obstructing our view. Then we noticed about 5 cylindrical objects grouped closely together, and were slowly coming our direction.

The weird thing about them was that they looked metallic and shiny, occasionally sparkling. As well they were rotating quite quickly, but moving very slowly. One of the objects broke off from the group and moved slowly upwards and left this wispy white trail.

It was a typical beutiful day in Vegas with no clouds, so there shouldn't have been any wispy anything. I sort of forgot about this for a while, but then I saw this TV show which showed these same objects, and said they were UFOs - the photo shown on the show was taken by a airline passenger flying over the pacific.
