Faint object seen shooting over Cold Springs Valley in Reno, Nevada Time is approximate on this, sorry! I and one of my brothers were visiting our brother in Reno, Nevada over Christmas. His house is in the Cold Springs Valley area! I stepped outside his garage to have a cigarette, on the side of his home. It was still dark outside, but with a faint glow of the sun just barely starting to lighten the sky.

Not knowing exactly which direction his house faces, I will only suggest that I was on the east side of it at this time! Being a believer of this type of thing, I always watch the skies in the hope that I will see something, and this time I did! I was looking upwards, and I had high thin clouds to my right, but the skies were mostly clear. I looked to my left more, and caught a fain object shoot past my field of vision at a very high rate of speed! And I mean fast! As I said, maybe only 2 seconds of viewing time! What ever it was, it was not at an altitude to be lit by any sunlight because there was only a hint of lightening of the sky at this early hour! And I saw it for such a short time span, than I can't even tell you what shape it was, either! It was there, and then gone! It's size I would approximate as being about the size of a pencil eraser, held about 8-10 feet away, looking straight on. I went inside and told my brothers about this and one suggested that it might have been a bird! But this was way too fast to be a bird! And the other, which I tend to partially agree with suggested that it might have been a meteor! The one problem I have with this is that I don't know a great deal about celestial bodies, but this seemed an awful lot closer to the ground than a meteor! I would say no farther than 7-9,000ft above me! I tried to follow it's path, to see if it would reflect any light from somewhere, but, nothing! It was pretty faint, and was gone really too quickly!.

I was driving South on US Highway 95 near Ashton, NV, on 12/15/2009 at 6:44 P.M. To the East and to the South East I noticed five lights hovering over the mountain in the distance that twinkled on and off several times in two to three second intervals before disappearing for five seconds and re appeared fifteen degrees to the east.

I estimate that the mountains I was approaching which the craft were on the other side of were ten miles away thirty degrees above the horizon. It hovered motionless for several seconds and the objects turned white in color then converged into one bright white object and was gone. I was able to have my passenger take two still photos of the object(s)which have some distortion of the image due to road vibration.

Approximately Forty Five Degrees to my left, I noticed another object hovering above the mountain at the same altitude as the first. It hovered and disappeared after fifteen seconds. My passenger was able to film the craft and the one to follow a minute later using a 640 x480 pixel digital video recorder.

As he was filming another appeared directly ahead of us appeared but was gone too quickly to be filmed.

Noticed flashing lights out my kitchen window along with beams of light , projectiles and meteors falling near by After drinking some orange juice before bed I noticed a cluster of changing lights(red,green,blue,yellow and white) in the distance to the east through the window. Upon closer examination I realized I was looking at something other than a star or aircraft. It was moving in a diamond pattern then stopping and staying stationary, emitting bright beams of light and what appeared to be projectiles that left a copper colored sparkle trail until they faded.

I dressed myself, grabbed the video camera and exited to the outside when I noticed what looked like meteors falling extremely close to said cluster of changing lights. At this time I am monitoring every fifteen to 20 minutes to see if there is any changes. So far it has gained more altitude.

Green Flash ok so i was driving my car follow a friend, when i saw a huge greenish flash of light in the sky, i mean it was every where. it wasn't the strip lights or anything like that we where to far away from them. and too there was no sound from the flash.

i looked around to see what it was but i couldn't see anything just the stars in the sky.

On October 26, 2009, I was out on my front porch area watching an inordinate number of aircraft departing McCarran International Airport when I observed a very bright object in the northern sky from 17:30 PM (5:30 PM) until 17:42 PM (5:42 PM) that remained in a fixed position for a duration period of 12 minutes in Las Vegas, NV, it had an luminosity as bright as Sirius in the night sky, this observation was made in broad day light and no stars would be apparent at this time, it was located approximately 15° directly above where Polaris (the North Star) would be, it did not pulsate nor vary in any way. This object then dimmed out and an elliptical object could be faintly seen for a brief moment as being of a very dull silver finish, it then immediately departed on a 45° angle to the East at an extremely high rate of speed trailing a very very faint amber brown plumb behind where it disappeared in approximately two seconds. Ruled out a weather balloon, was not a meteor, had no strobe or red & green aircraft running lights, it emitted no sound.

Watched shiny objected prolly 30000ft in the air fly west at an unreasonably fast speed then dissapear. I was driving my car looking south on a residential road. It was a clear day with not one cloud in the sky.

There was this really shiny, almost if it was aluminum, object probably 25000-30000 feet high, headed west and a pretty fast speed. My friend's girlfriend and I were watching it for about a 50 seconds then i went behind a tree because i was driving her home, and when we looked back up in the sky it was no where to be found. It just disappeared.

We scanned the sky for another 5 minutes or so to see if it was anywhere, but it was no where to be found. What else could it be?!!?!?!.

bright white light in S.W. sky over Henderson, Nv.

oval in shape Bright white light,in south west sky- then grew dim, then bright again, then gone. Maybe meteor, but way to big. We are in the flight pattern, but this was to far south in the sky and shortly after a plan flew over the light was diagnol from the path of the plane.

No sound. The shape of the light was more oval than round.

Lengthy witnessing of an unkn light making incredible maneuvers in the northern Nevada Sky near Vya. My wife and I had been collecting obsidian north of Alturas, CA. Towards the end of the day we were going to hunt Quail and then head through the back country to visit a friend in Reno which was a good distance south before heading back to the Bay Area (CA).

We decided to take a back route through a network of well maintained roads crossing from California into Nevada using HWY 299 that turns into a smooth dirt road at the Nevada border then on to forest road 8A to the 447 in Nevada. My wife was tired and wanted to rest so I got out of the car to stretch my legs and hiked up a small hill 4-5 miles into Nevada. One of my favorite things to do at night is hike.

I am an experienced woodsman and was just wanting to sit still on the ridge and listen to groups of coyotes howl back and forth a bit. I could see the car from my viewpoint. We were parked right near a roadway sign (I think it was a "turns ahead" style yellow triangular sign on the left side of the r! oad facing west).

After listening to the howls on this relatively still night for at least 15 minutes, I noticed a light in the sky to the east through the pass. It was hard to gauge distance since there were no trees in the foreground for perspective. I could go to the exact spot and point to where it was though.

The light was distant. That's all I can say about perspective. It started off as a still light.

I noticed it as I was scanning for my favorite constellations (It was much brighter than Polaris) and then I saw it move, I thought it might be a plane but there were no flashing indicators and it did not move like a plane or jet. After a few seconds it shot up at incredible speed. I am ex military.

My jaw dropped. I knew that it was no conventional aircraft that I am aware of. It descended in a staircase type fashion at times, then would shoot upwards and make multiple maneuvers such as a rectangle (at speeds that would render a pilot unconscious due to g-fo! rce effects).

It seemed like it was testing it's ability/mane! uverability. There was no particular pattern to it. The light changed colors from blue through the spectrum pulsing.

I watched it for what seemed like forever. Then I went down to the car to see if it was visible from that angle and it was. I woke up my wife and she watched it as well.

It made no sound at all. I estimate it's distance at least 2 miles away nearest "town" is a ghost town called "Vya" In the very northwestern corner of Nevada. Approximate location of object is as follows: Long.

Brite light seen over reno,nv. This is the 2nd time I have seen this light and it's not a shooting star. This is the second time I have seen this light.

The first time I saw it was 2 months ago late at night. It came from the south and was going north. The first time I thought it was a shooting star but it held a constant elevation.

I saw the same thing again tonight. This is no shooting star and it make no noise at all. The light is so bright and looks just like a star light, pure white and it stays on course without any elevation change at all.

Has any one else seen this light.

Strange lights in the sky My husband, son and I were driving home last night, we were 50 miles north east of McGill Nevada (home) and saw a big, bright orange ball of light appear out the front window of the truck directly in front of us (east) it just hung there for about 10 sec then disappeared. We all asked each other if we had seen it, we had. about 30 sec later it showed up again out the drivers window (north) and we all started yelling and I pulled over, by the time I had stopped it was gone.

We got out of the car and it popped up in front of us again. So I took out my little camera and waited, a few sec later saw it way far off to the north east, really dim then it kind of blinked out and it was right in front of us again but there was 2 of them. They just hung there for about 10 to 20 sec, I got some video of them then they just disappeared.

All the cars that had been behind us had pulled over and were watching, and a man pulled up next to us and asked if we were seeing this! . While we were talking they re-appeared but this time there were 3 of them, they just hung there then kind of bounced up and down, hung there again, then they were just gone. I also go a little of that on camera.

All of a sudden it seemed there were jets coming from all directions, there had been no sound until the jets showed up, and after the jets came we didn't see the lights again. They were very large and bright orange, similar to looking a street lamp from about 50yards away. It really was the most awesome thing I have ever seen.

I have the footage on my camera but have not downloaded it yet, I also drew a pic but I have no scanner. My son was scared out5 of his mind, my husband and I were both really excited, as was the man that pulled up next to us. The whole thing lasted about 20 min or so we stayed and watched for nearly half an hour more and saw nothing else except lots of jets flying around.

My family watched out the back window of my truck the whole way home ! and saw nothing else.

Bright light moving across the night sky I was standing outside my neighbor’s garage when I saw a bright light heading from the west-northwest to the east-southeast at a high rate of speed. The object slowed and changed direction once; about 30 degrees shortly after it flew over my head. It then Sped up and headed more southeast dimming then disappearing into my horizon.

I would estimate the object was at 10 to 15 thousand feet in the air. This light had no strobes and was clearly not a commercial or known military plane, nor do I feel it was a meteor. I know this because of my background in A & P and the fact that the object quickly surpassed a commercial aircraft that was over 30,000 feet in the air (with the usual strobes).

This light was brighter than the planet visible at that time in the southeast Las Vegas sky, as I could see both at the same time.

dino over nevada very large forward swept wing object i would say reminds me of a Pterosaurs type of shape it was flying in figure 8 patterns when it started to move in front of a building i moved to keep eye contact on it I moved to were the building could not block my view any more and could not see the object any more. Square/rectangular object seen over mountains during the day. I am writing this so I don't forget the event years from now. It was Saturday August 29, 2009.

On my way out of Boulder City, Nevada, at approximately 12 noon PST I saw a motionless object in the sky. It was located over the Mountains as you drive on Veteran's Memorial Parkway heady out of town. The object was darker than the hazy afternoon sky and appeared to be square in shape.

It had definite lines and was not a cloud. When I first saw it I thought it was a kite or something caught in a power line as I tried to judge my depth perception. As I continued driving I watched it sitting motionless.

It became more apparent that this was actually something in the sky above the mountains and not some sort of optical illusion. I watched the object as I was parked at the stoplight at Boulder Highway and Veteran's Memorial Parkway. I was anxious to get a better look at it by getting on the highway.

Before the light changed to green the object start to move. It moved away very smoothly and disappeared into the hazy cloud cover. It gradually disappeared almost like fading away.

It was moving towards the Las Vegas valley when I lost site of it. As I drove into Henderson I looked to the sky but there was no site of it. Though its hard to be sure, it appeared to be very large in size.

I don't know what I saw that day but I will never forget it.

pulsating diamond shapped object I woke up at 5 AM and noticed a bright light in the sky that appeared to be an aircraft with landing lights on. I grabbed my HD videocamera with 10x optical zoom and 150 digital zoom and recorded a pulsating diamond-shaped object approximately 25 degrees above the horizon east of my residence. I woke up my daughter and her friend to witness this, along with a co-worker to pick me up for work.

The object was not moving.

Bright, unblinking low-altitude light in motion north of Beatty, NV. August 25, 2009 10:10 p.m.

PDT. I was in the process of driving a U-Haul truck from Albuquerque, NM, to Sacramento, CA. I was on Highway 95 in southern Nevada, perhaps six miles north of the town of Beatty.

An overnight stay was planned later, in Hawthorne, NV. Traffic had been light, but leaving Beatty and heading north, the traffic all but vanished. Even the local traffic had disappeared.

I was all alone in the night, half-listening to George Noory on the AM radio. Noory promised his listeners a "UFO Extravaganza," later. Suddenly to my left, I saw a light in the sky, heading south.

The light looked like a very bright planet - like Venus - but in motion. I did a double-take, thinking it might have been a reflection in the driver's-side window of a stationary light located to the right of the truck, but that was not the case. Something was flying south through the air, not very high, and not very far away.

It is quite plausible that the light belonged to a small private airplane. There is a small airport located just south of Beatty, equipped with flashing beacons for nighttime travelers, and the airborne light was heading in that direction. But still, private planes are supposed to be equipped with colored blinking lights for nighttime flight.

This light was not blinking at all. Was the cockpit light on for some mysterious reason? If so, why were the external blinking lights off? That would be an unsafe condition, especially at low altitude! It was all puzzling.

LARGE CIRCULAR DISK APPEARS FROM NOWHERE, THEN MOVES EAST AND FLAMES OUT AT 4:OO AM I WAS UNABLE TO SLEEP, SO I WENT INTO THE BACKYARD BECAUSE IT WAS A NICE NIGHT NO CLOUDS AND STILL WARM OUTSIDE. I NOTICED A BRIGHT STAR OR PLANET AND BECAUSE OF LACK OF CITY LIGHTS YOU COULD SEE THE ENTIRE SKY AND ALL THE STARS. HAVING WITNESSED SEVERAL UFO EVENTS OVER THE YEARS IN RENO,I REMEMBER THINKING NOW WOULD BE A PERFECT TIME FOR AN OCCURANCE, GIVEN THE TIME OF NIGHT.

NO SOONER THAN I THOUGHT THAT AND WAS LOOKING AT THE STAR IN THE NORTHEAST SKY,WHEN OUT OF NOWHERE A HUGE YELLOWISH DISK APPEARED, LARGER THAN THE STAR I WAS LOOKING AT AND IT WAS TOTALLY STATIONARY FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS, THEN IT STARTED TO SLOWLY MOVE EASTWARD.IT THEN STARTED TO FADE AND LIKE A FLAME BEING EXTINGUISHED, IT DISAPPEARED.BEING A FORMER PILOT, I KNOW IT WAS NOT AIRCRAFT.

Disk-shaped object sighted with rotating lights, only a few hundred feet away. On the drive home with my boyfriend, I spotted a light in the sky that caught my attention. It was a disk-like shape with many yellow-white lights moving in a circular motion around the craft.

The object also had one small red light near the top center of the craft. I pointed the object out to my boyfriend and within about a minute, the object had moved all the way across the valley of Reno, NV, and could barely be seen anymore. We noticed that a helicopter came relatively close to the object several times, but the object seemed unaffected by its presence.

We decided to attempt to follow the craft to investigate further. As we drove across the city, the craft moved closer and farther away, sometimes hovering in one spot for several moments. At one point, we got near enough to the craft that we could see with the unaided eye its true shape.

It was still disk shaped, but it had become apparent to us that there were two rows of lights instead of one, spin! ning around the craft in a circular motion. At our closest, the object was a few hundred feet in the air away from us. At this point, the object turned onto its side, much like a Frisbee rolling on the ground, then turned back to its flat side, and began again to move away from where we parked.

We continued to drive throughout the city to get closer, but the object eventually disappeared from sight altogether. In the dark it was very difficult to see the full shape of the object, but I and my boyfriend are certain that this was no helicopter, plane, or child's toy. We attempted to both photograph and videotape the object, but neither method was successful in picking up the image.

To clarify, neither of us have ever seen anything like this. We are both young college students with no history of mental illness. We have seen TV shows regarding these kinds of incidents, and have always found them to be exaggerated and quite unrealistic.

After today, we are unsure what to believe and are searching for some sort of logical explanation.

UFO Sighting Indian Springs NV, off Highway US 95 Driving Down US 95 just outside of Indian Springs, NV, 3 small red lights in the shape of a triangle rose at about 45 degrees off the ground - i though it was a fire work so i watched it for a moment, then noticed a small blueish white light following close behind it like a tail. When the object reached its desired altitude it froze as the blue light caught up to it and leveled off, then both lights turned bright white and began twinkling at each other in increments of 3 flashes per side. It was about 700ft above the ground and about 1 mile away from my car.

Then the object flew off south bound down the highway and into the distance, quite quickly. I continued south down US 95 and pulled over for some gas, after a quick fill up continued back on the highway and saw the object again; still twinkling its white lights. it had flown about 4 miles from the sight i saw it rise so i concluded it could not be a toy plane or helicopter ,especially going as fast as it ! was and as far from its point of origin.

The object zipped along the highway faster than i was driving (about 90mph) giving me ample time to observe it. With out notice the object turned around and began to head north up the highway. At this point i realized that the object was not 2 individual lights but a tube like object with lights on either side.

I watched the lights turn from white to blue then back to red. Once the objects lights were all red it stopped and hovered in the air it remained still in the air as i drove past it, i could faintly make out the body at this point but not clear enough to see any defining features except for the shape and the three red lights on the side facing my car. I am a Grad Student at UNLV and am not prone to seeing "funny objects" in the sky - I'm certain this was nothing i had ever seen before.
