Alabama UFO Sightings in 2009

Five lights, moving as one, slowly at low altitude from west to east across US-231, with no normal aviation lighting. I was driving my truck from Brundidge to Montgomery on US-231 after delivering a load of frozen food to the Walmart DC. I observed five lights in the sky in front of me.

They were arranged left to right, two close together, one single, two close together. The spacing of the three sets was about the distance from your index finger to your little finger when held at arms length in front of you. The lights moved together slowly from west to east (left to right), as though they were attached to one object.

I could see there was a mass there, but being night time I couldn't see what it was clearly, despite the full moon overhead. It just seemed to be a darker area in the sky where the lights were. The lights moved slowly and disappeared behind some trees to my right, just off the roadway.

They appeared to be at a lower altitude because of how quickly they went behind the trees. Then I lost sight of them. I am a licensed pilot (Airline Transport Pilot license) and know what an airplane looks like.

With these lights there was no red flashing beacon, no flashing strobes, no colored navigation lights. I thought maybe it was some high altitude jets going by, but again, no strobe lights. They stayed perfectly seperated too.

Maybe a plane from the local airport, but it was moving slowly and steadily, and at an altitude that I could only guess was below 5000'. I thought once maybe it was a relection on my windshield, but when I moved my head around the lights didn't change position. I couldn't hear any sound, but then again in my Peterbilt there is quite a bit of noise.

Bright light over Prattville, AL, flashing and moving over tree line We saw a bright light in sky right above the tree line around 5:08 AM. It began moving right to left and moving upward at a slow speed. It hovered there for a a few minutes moving right, left, up, and down flashing the bright light.

As the sun was coming up the light moved further up in the sky and had almost fully disapeared by 6:00 am.

I saw a triangular shaped air craft that had three bright white lights and a dime one in the center of it. I agree with the sightings of an triangular shaped ufo I saw it this pass Tuesday morning on November 10th, 2009 at 1:00 AM. Across the street from my house.

My dog broke out of our back yard and I went out of the house to retrieve him. I was able to get him and at the same time from about 120 feet away I saw three bright white lights and a dime one in the center hovering over my neighbors house approx. 20 feet over his house near a tree.

The night was cold and misty the sky very cloudy so it was resting in the cloudy mist that hung some where about 25 to 30 feet above ground, my neighbors house is on a little hill so it is higher than ours. This object was floating like it was observing my dog and I from the distance, and when I notice it, it started to move. It moved very slowly my guest would be about 5 miles per hour and it made no sound and moved as if gravity had no force on it at all.

The other strange thing is the very bright white lights on it did not illuminate the trees around it as it glowed. When I first noticed it I thought it was an airplane because I live 15 miles from Birmingham's AirPort, but the object was quiet and it did not have the normal light features that an airplane would have like the small red and green lights. After, it had pass over and disappeared in the cloudy mist a real airplane flow over my head with the red and green lights that I mentioned and it was very loud.

I have always believed in them but I am truly convinced that they are real now. My only concern is why are they more noticeable now. Something major is going to happen down the road for us I do believe.

rectangler object green flying slowly over a mountian close to danville,Al I was riding my bike down my drive way when i heard a big roar from the east as i look up i saw 2 very slow moving rectangler object they had pleaers on each side no wings they were green with odd letters and shapes written on the side they were very close to the ground 100 feet close like it was going to land but then when it got 100 feet close to the ground it strated back up into the air i was so scared i never seen anything like it.

blinking lights Me and my boyfriend were both outside enjoying the weather one night and when we decided to take out or trash we noticed this blinking light extremely brighter than all other stars in the sky. It flashed from red to blue to green. We stared at it for a minute or so and it moved maybe an inch in my perspective every two or three minutes.

We decided to see if we could see anymore so we turned around looking in the sky. We found a total of four in a diamond pattern but very far apart. We looked online to see if we could find any answers since we were obviously a little spooked but found nothing.

It could have possibly been a star but we didnt figure that there would be four of them in such a pattern that was an exact diamond.

A large "chef's hat" shaped object in sky over US231 South. My parents and I were driving home one night a few days before I got married and we were taking the back roads home. I was sitting in the backseat and was on the phone with one of my friends.

My dad was passing over a railroad crossing and I looked up as we rocked across the tracks when I saw this massive object in the sky. The only way that I can describe this object was that it was in a shape of a chef's hat. It did not look like a weather balloon, I have seen these all my life and it was 5 or 6 times larger than any other balloon I have seen.

It seemed to be a metal, but not a shiny metal. The only light coming from the object was out of the bottom of the "tube" of the chef's hat. It was illuminated as if there were spotlights from the ground illuminating the bottom portion of the object.

I took a second to study it, and then I looked at my parents just long enough to say "what is that?" and then I looked up in the sky and it was gone. There was one small! cloud in the sky, but no way that the object could be hidden by this smaller cloud. I just want to know if I am the only person that saw this.

It was huge, I just don't understand, I haven't stopped thinking about it for the past year and want some answers.

Three Lights In A Vertical Formation Blinking To Another Light On Other Side Of The Sky With A White Light Blinking Red I was standing on my patio at 01:14AM smoking a cigerette and i looked up in the sky like every night and i saw what appered to be a star or so i thought than i looked to the left side of the sky and i saw a row of three water appered to be stars that were vertical and they stated to blink than i looked to my right and the other star lit up real bright and faded and i glanced back to my left and saw a white light start to move up in the sky and start to flash red and it freaked me out so i came in the house and im gonna go back out to see if its still there Its still there now theres another one and it was desending into the sky very slow ((NUFORC Note: Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. Diamond shaped silent object floating over Dothan, AL It was 9:54 pm. I was out in the backyard with the dogs. I happened to look up and saw a triangle of lights headed my way.

There were three lights: two red and one white. It seemed to be floating above the tree line. I first thought it might be helicopters flying in formation, but there was no sound.

It seemed to be only one or possibly two football field lengths away. When it turned, I saw a third red light that made it the shape of a diamond. Only one light was blinking.

The other three stayed on constantly. I watched in amazement until it went behind the trees. I watched and waited for it to clear the trees.

When it did, I saw it turn around and head back the way it had come. I was speechless. What can turn around like that? When it went behind the trees again, I ran into the house for my camera.

I was going to take a picture when it reappeared, but it never did.

Extremely fast light in low sky. We were driving home when a light shot over us and was gone in a second. It was approximately 50-100 yards above the top of the trees and power lines.

The only thing that comes to mind is a jet of some kind, but it was extremely too low to be a jet. It moved as quickly as a shooting star but extremly bright and low. About 3 minutes before, we saw a jumper plane overhead that was going towards FT Benning.

Would love to know what it was.

bright lime green sphere explodes and falls in Blount co. Alabama My wife was sitting near our front door and noticed a bright light outside ( it was dark 17:40 hrs ). She got up and observed a dark round object with a lime green light surrounding it appearing to hover in the sky above the tree line behind a neighbors house ( very wooded ).

The distance of the object was maybe less than a mile away and after 5 or 6 seconds of watching the object and bright lime green light she said part of it seem to explode and orange and red peices began to fall tothe ground with the large unilluminated part also falling to the ground. No noise or crash was heard at all. The incident was reported to Blount co.

sheriff's office and an officer was dispatched to patrol the area. My wife stated she does not think it was a meteor because of the way it hovered and she was sure it had a bright lime green glow to it.

Three Silver Boomerang shaped objects spotted in broad daylight I was leaving work and was looking up at the traffic light (in a SE direction) in a highly wooded area waiting for the light to turn green. Something shiny reflecting the sunlight caught my eye above the trees. There were three, boomerang shaped objects hovering right above the tree tops making no sound.

They were larger than the size of a motorcycle but smaller than the size of an SUV. They were chrome silver in color, very shiny - unlike anything I have ever seen. I lost them over the tree tops.

The traffic light changed and I had to turn onto the parkway to keep traffic moving. There were a lot of other cars on the road, this was during rush hour in broad daylight. There was not a cloud in the sky, it was beautiful weather conditions.

I dismissed it thinking I may have been hallucinating since I couldn't make sense of it and they had disappeared. My Cell phone rang as I was driving and it was my mother. I told her what I saw and she started asking me questions.

By this time I had pulled up to the light to get onto the very busy HWY 280. I was in the turn lane to go NW onto HWY 280. I was facing North and still on the phone with my mother looking up in the sky trying to see if I could find the objects again.

Sure enough they had made a circle from where I had originally spotted them and were flying over HWY 280 going in the same circular direction I had spotted them going in the first time only this time they were at a much higher altitude. I told my mom I had to go b/c I was going to report this to 911 since this sighting was close to the eighth anniversary of September 11th and I didn't want to take the chance of it being some kind of terrorist surveillance or something of the sort. The light changed and I started to move away from the objects.

I pulled over into a parking lot and had my digital camera in my purse. I pulled it out and got out of the car and waited for them to circle again. They did return in the same flight path that I had seen them twice before but they were flying at an even higher altitude than they were the second time.

I tried to snap a picture but they were too far away from me at this point. I waited for them to circle around again but they disappeared. I called 911 and the operator said she was getting similar reports and she was sending a sheriff's deputy to check it out.

I gave the operator my information and got back into my car and waited for them to fly over again. Every single time i saw them they were flying in a V formation. They were all the same size and color, hovering with no sound and could take off at speeds so fast that they seemed to disappear.

I watched them fly over the same restaurant but this time instead of continuing the circular flight path I had watched them make before they turned and flew NW over HWY 280 following the Westbound traffic. They were flying lower than airplanes but higher than the tree line. This time they disappeared but it wasn't like they took off it was as if they were invisible, they were there one minute and then the next they were not.

I didn't see them take off at a higher speed I just watched them disappear into thin air, it was as if they could make themselves invisible. I called my younger brother since he had a sighting near this area a few years before on a fishing trip to see if the shapes of the object were the same. Mine were different in that they weren't completed triangles, they were shaped like boomerangs and were smaller in size than the object he saw.

He saw his at night and mine were in broad daylight and made no sound. I didn't know who to report them to so I wrote down my experience and I found this website and I'm reporting it for the first time in writing. I still don't have an explanation for what I saw that day and I wonder if I ever will.

Dark Chevron/Boomerang shaped object manouvering 1 object. I live under an MOA, heard T-38's flying, spotted dark colored chevron shape. At first I thought it could be a B-2 Bomber but the trailng edges appeared straight and there was no central bulge.

Object was westbound about 400kts estimated speed. Disappeared into clouds which were reported to be at 4500' (I called local AWOS). The object made a 180 turn and returned from clouds at same altitude.

the object then made several rapid zig-zag manouvers and then pitched down abruptly increasing velocity rapidly. object then made several abrupt turns while climbing up to original altitude. the object then turned to south heading away from my position on ground.

I spotted the two t-38's in formation and moving above me at an altitude slightly higher than object which now was not visible to me.The jets appeared oblivious to the object and continued to manouver.I am a pilot and aerospace employee.

This object did not manouver like any conventional aircraft that! i have ever observed. No lights were visible. object appeared to be close to the same size as the T-38 aircraft.

max observed speed seem to be 800kts. object was silent, and did not cause a sonic boom. It seemed like it was chasing something smaller that i could not see.

Distance at begining was estimated to be 2 miles final sighting appeared to be 4 miles as i lost visual contact. I have witnessed a similar object manouvering like this but at a much greater estimated distance. Wow I'd love to fly something as manouverable!.

At least 7 high speed lights seen over Tuscaloosa/Hillcrest, AL I went outside to have a cigarette on my balcony (which faces east south east) and saw strange lights moving in a pattern which no airplane could. I counted at least 7 but there could've been as many as 12. The lights would come and go like fire-flys.

It looked like bee's swarming around a nest. They were all moving at incredibly high speed doing loops and rolls, but not like an airplane could. All the turns were incredibly tight.

It's been about thirty minutes and its still going on. I wish I had a camera.

Four balls of light spotted over Spanish Fort area. It was about 1 am Sunday August 23rd 2009. My husband and I went to go have a cigarette before we went to bed.

When we went outside to the back yard we instantly noticed this huge blinking light. It looked to be over HWY 31 about 3 miles from our house. I instantly thought of an airplane.

Then my husband brought to my attention that planes only flash red and green lights. This object was flashing red, green, blue and orange lights. Not just dull versions of those colors but the most beautiful vibrant version that you can ever imagine.

Also it wasn’t moving except for the occasional sway from side to side. I had never in my life been in such a state of awe. My husband ran and got our camera and binoculars.

Of course my camera wouldn’t catch the object but when we looked through the binoculars you could see clearly that it was the most perfect circle ball shape ever. It stayed hovering in the same spot for the hour that we stayed out there watchi! ng it. At one point during the hour, 3 smaller versions of the light circle also producing the same vibrant color flashes came to the left side of the larger color circle and disappeared.

I wrote into the local news on Monday asking if there was any other sightings that night and I have yet to get a response. I was reading where in the neighboring city of Daphne in 2008 someone reported that they saw a hovering circle flashing the same colors that we saw! This was no airplane, helicopter, weather balloon, or new military aircraft.

bright object hovering in sky during lightning storm Phenix city, Al We were experiencing a really strong lightening storm. My husband stepped out onto the porch and after a couple of minutes he called me to the porch. The storm was really bad and no light should have been viewable in the sky other than a plane.

He pointed to the eastern sky and ask me if the bright light was moving. I watched for a couple of minutes and we both agreed that what ever was in the sky that night was not moving. It was a large bright light just hovering in the middle of the storm.

I went and got the binoculars and we took turns looking at the object. Through the binoculars you could see that the object had a rectangular shape with orange lights running down both sides. We knew that no helicopter would be just hovering in one spot during such a powerful lightning storm.

As the storm grew worse the object became brighter and still sit hovering. It hovered there for about 56 minutes and suddenly it was just gone. We have no answers for what we saw Tuesday night.

It was a frightening , yet intriguing site. I am afraid of bad storms but even I could not resist watching this object during the storm. I am wondering if anyone else happened to see this spectacular site on 08/11/09 between 10pm and 11 pm.

On the night of August 4, 2009, I was on my back deck and just over the treeline in the distance I spotted in the night sky what first appeared to be a very bright star. However, after closer observation with the naked eye and with binoculars also, it was obvious that the object pulsated white, red and green. It hovered for a long time, and then moved very slowly sideways across the sky.

It moved up and down at times and appeared to change into a "V" shape too. I watched with my son and daughter and my son's girlfriend for over an hour. The object finally disappeared behind the trees where it was no longer visible to us.

Two even stranger things: the neighborhood dogs were going crazy, and this is the same type object that I observed at the same time of night,in the same location and for over an hour on July 31st. ((NUFORC Note: Probably a "twinkling" star. PD)).

I saw a star-sized light emerge over a tree-line approximately 30 feet from me (trees about 30-50 feet tall). At first, I took it to be a satellite, and I went inside to get my wife. While she was coming outside, I noticed that it was much too bright and much too fast to be a satellite.

It was not moving as fast as a shooting star, but it was definitely moving more quickly than any satellite I had ever seen. My wife came outside, and we watched it slowly fade into a shade of red before fading completely. We lost sight of it for a few seconds before spotting either a second similar object or the same object a good distance away from where we originally saw it.

Whether it was the same object or a second object, it behaved the same with it fading into a shade of red before totally fading. I scanned the sky for a good while afterwards but could not locate it again. ((NUFORC Note: ISS.

2 large ash circles on the ground No actual UFO sighting. We discovered to 2 (two) large circles of an ash like substance in our back yard at 0700 on 07/23/09. The circles are perfectly round with 5 piles of ash evenly spaced in the middle.

these circles were not there on 7/22/09. I have obtained samples of the ash and the grass it was on. The grass was undisturbed.

No affect to the grass. The ash has a very fine texture and no odor at all.

Two bright, non-moving lights in the sky, brighter than the stars. A friend and myself were standing outside of his house, which is in a subdivision. We were looking in the sky attempting to identify constellations, studying for an astronomy class.

There is a significant amount of light pollution in the area. I was looking north or northwest, and my friend was looking southeast. He mentioned that I should look where he was looking.

I looked southeast. We both observed two extremely bright points of light. One light appeared vertically above the other light.

They were not moving at all. My first impression was that they were just extremely bright stars, and I looked into my book to try to find them. I looked back up a few seconds later and they were gone.

There was no sound. Both points of light were the same brightness, and appeared to be much brighter than any star in the sky.
