Two lights separated quite a distance apart, traveling in unison in a straight line from N.W. to S.

E. I was taking the garbage out on Thanksgiving night and noticed how bright the moon was, then noticed a few stars. As I started to return to the house I looked up for stars and saw two directly overhead.

As I watched them it became obvious they were moving in unison in a straight line from N.W. to the S.

E. I called to my wife, she came out and witnessed them also. The lead light was much brighter than the one trailing.

It was hard to judge the altitude and the distance between the two objects, and too dark to see if anything was connecting them. The sighting lasted about two minutes. I took a video of them but after reviewing it decided the quality was too poor to upload to any web pages.

The lights never wavered from moving in a straight line. They didn't make a sound either.

Fireball or (meteor?) Might be something stranger. A ball of blue and green flashing light, coming in very fast,VERY close to us and very big. fireball or meteor piece (??) appeared to be just that.

It made no noise. At first, in our position we all thought it was gonna "land" or "crash" close until it changed course and flew off?.

Bright orange object seen flying E/SE out of atmosphere. Bright orange circular or diamond shaped light see flying W/NW then changing direction to E/SE with no audible sound or visible trail emitted. Object flight path did not follow curvature of the earth.

Unexplained pattern of mult-colored lights that moved, diappeared, reappeared and has 7 Iowans believing that there are definately UFOs This is an account of seven witnesses sighting of an Unidentified Flying Object on 9/25/09 in Spencer, Iowa. The first witness noticed a flashing red light in the western horizon at approximately 21:15. Initially thought it was a planet because of the red color.

Passed it off as a star and didn’t say anything to anyone in the party. Next witness brought attention to a red, white, and blue alternating colored light that appeared to dance above the tree line. There were seven of us sitting around a campfire and we moved farther out into the yard to look closer.

We got a pair of binoculars out and took turns reporting to each other what we saw. Each of us saw a circular pattern of multi-colored lights that erratically moved while seemingly changing shapes. Two of us described it to look like a Ferris Wheel in the sky or what Hollywood has depicted as a UFO in several movies.

One witness documented the times and duration of appearance and disappearances as follows: Started 21:15 to 21:39 very bright, distinct and vivid rotation could be observed. It was at its highest point. Also during this time period, 4 people witnessed what appeared to be a shooting star in the same general area.

21:39-21:45 Object disappeared from view. 21:45-22:01 Object reappeared, lower in the sky, appearing farther north somewhat less vivid. Telescope was used to tract objects movement.

It was obvious that the object was moving by the way it moved from the center of the telescope’s viewfinder within seconds. Another shooting star was witnessed by all seven of us. One witness was viewing the lights through the binoculars when it just vanished.

22:01-22:06 Object wasn’t visible. 22:06-22:12 Lights reappeared, even lower but still visible. During this time five witnesses saw a flash of white light appear above the object.

The object didn’t appear to be moving as much as it had been earlier and the light appeared more amber in color. 22:12 Lights disappeared.

Bright fflashing ufo. saw something bright in the sky. looked like a very very illuminated star.

it did not flash. but upon watching it. it started to flash.

kinda like when someone flashes you with their brights on a car. it would go very bright then dim. and repeated this until the sun came up, it then flew to the west into the horizon.

this was like a 3 to 4 hour event. there were other smaller lights that showed up around it. but this main one was the prominent ufo.

what i found interesting is that when it would dim and disappear, if i concentrated for it to reappear, then it would. fascinating at the idea of telepathy with beings. hmm.

my mothers cell phone went dead. which never has happened before.

Lights moving at same speed as aircraft, but no running lights. 9-9-09 This evening my husband and I witnessed two bright objects moving across the sky from west to east at approximately 8:45 p.m.

central. The reason we thought this was noteworthy is because there were no “running lights”. the red and green blinking lights we usually see on airplanes.

Also, these lights were much brighter. The first one seemed to have vapor or smoke behind it, but not in a straight line as a contrail. A few seconds later, another bright light passed over but we didn’t see any vapor.

3 bright orange oval shaped craft moving slowley over interstate 80 in Newton, Iowa 3 bright orange oval shaped craft flying in a purfect triangle formation, after one minute one craft turned sharply left and dissappeared into the atmosphere, and two minutes later the other two objects followed. I am a truck driver and was stopped on the side of the road taking a break when I witnessed this. It was very quiet out there and these craft did not make any noise.

Two Slow Flying Fireballs Within Seven Minutes At about 2100 hours on the night of September 5th, 2009, I was sitting outside with my wife in my backyard around a small fire. In the sky to the north I noticed what looked like a small orange to red fireball. This object moved toward the west at the rate of any normal passing airplane.

I ran after the orange glowing object for about one city block, as it would pass behind trees and houses. Eventually it passed out of sight. After I had returned to my house and sat back down for about five to seven minutes, I saw a second, identical object moving along the same course.

I ran after this one as well, anticipating its course to get a better view. As it moved into view I thought that it looked almost like it could have been a balloon that was somehow on fire. When I reached the top of the hill, the highest elevation in town, my view could only be obstructed by trees and the nearby church steeple.

Two local acquaintances happened to be passing by on the sidewalk. I told them to look at the object. They could not identify it.

The three of us watched the object as it flew away toward the west. Eventually, without altering course, the light of the object vanished and we could see nothing but stars in the western sky. The weather was calm.

There was absolutely no wind. The sky was completely clear. The moon was low in the eastern sky.

The object moved at the rate most any airplane would cross the sky, but the light from this aircraft was much larger than any of the small lights on normal planes. Also, the object made absolutely no engine noise. There was no sound at all.

A extremly bright ball of light shot across the night sky a couple of thousand feet in the air then diappeared. I was standing on my back patio looking east over a tree in my back yard when a large , extremely bright ball of light shot over the tree. At first I thought it was a falling star but I noticed it was way to bright to be on, when my eyes caught up to it I noticed it was probably only a few thousand feet in the air and it was not traveling in a straight line but a real faint swerving motion.

The object was not descending nor elevating but traveling straight across the sky south to southeast , the object was traveling at such a tremedous speed I had never seen anything move that fast other than maybe a shooting star across the sky. I caught the ball of light for only 3 to 5 seconds as it faded in and out then disappeared in thin air the closer it got to the moon. The moon was very bright , almost a full moon with no clouds in the sky .

Craft with flashing white, red and blue lights hovering low over town making no noise. Craft with white, red and blue lights hovering over the small town while flashing lights. Moved slightly, very low to the ground.

Lots of people in town at the time because there was a home football game going on. I stopped on the side of the road, a car passed around me, and I couldn't see it after that. Seen by my daughter and myself.

5 lights in shape of oval traveled from southwest to northeast sky which looked to outline one object at 3:16 AM. At 3:16 to 3:17 AM, I went outside before going to bed, and within a moment I noticed the sky was clear and saw what I thought were airplane lights moving in the sky. I then noticed there was an oval or ellipse shape formed by what looked to be 5 or more lights moving through the sky.

The size of the lights were like small, not particularly brilliant stars, but bright enough that their movement against a dark clear sky were apparent. There could have been more than 5 stars but with the small size and distance and movement I was only able to count 5. This movement caught my attention immediately.

I saw the movement was slow and steady. I went quickly into the house and shouted to my brother to come immediately. He came out and also watched the object.

The Pleiades were to the south of this object and higher in the sky than the object. The object moved on a track toward the northeast horizon. If I were to draw a line to track its trajectory backward, if it had traveled a straight line; then it started west and to the mid heaven side of the Pleiades.

There was a notable gut sense the object was very large and quite a distance away, higher in the sky than perhaps one might think. But, there was no visual reference to verify this sense. We are in Southeast Iowa in a small town of 8000.

If there were no city lights we would have had a better view. We watched to see if any star lights were obscured by its passing over them, but the lights of the object became dimmer as it traveled closer to the horizon was such that we never saw any stars crossed and we lost view of the object before it got low enough in the sky to have its view blocked by the trees. I thought of calling the police to report this, it being so unusual; then decided not to bother as the object had passed.

I reported this sighting to my ex-wife and a friend by email so that I would have a time stamp to record the time; then thought to look on the net to see if other had seen an object like this. So far I have not seen a picture which matches what we saw, but only looked on the net for a couple minutes. We are occasional sky watchers by habit when we go outside on occasion, and have many a time observed satellites on occasion.

This was new and different. The low side of the ellipse was on the left, on the north side, rising to the right (south) as in the picture below. No sound was heard.

I am 55 and my brother is 49. We were not under the influence of any drug, but we did have a half beer each about 7 hours earlier, which surely did not cause this strange observation. Quite interesting.

Large, horizontal, whitish rectangle seen during the day. Eldora, Iowa. Traveling west, in our minivan, from Eldora, Ia.

, 10 am on Hwy 175. Approximately August 15th, 2009. 4 Miles west of Eldora, my wife and I both saw a large whitish, horizontal, rectangle shaped object traveling south to north just over the western horizon.

It's a hilly area, maybe 5 miles from us. Quickly out of sight, 100+ MPH? The length of the object was about 6 times longer than its height. From the distance of the object, I estimate it was 250 feet long.

It had no tail, no wings. It was a simple horizontal rectangle with sharp crisp edges. From our vantage point, no depth of the object could be determined.

We have been to airshows and live across from a small grass airstrip and have seen many homemade aircraft. Never seen anything like this before or since. Looked on your site for a report of something similar.

Flashing and strobing object, flashing and strobing military jets, and two white lights moving above the Des Moines Iowa area. I was noticing several jets doing strange circular patterns over Des Moines, Iowa. They were using intermittent, seemingly random, fairly bright flashing strobes of red and white.

They were moving in circular patterns. The strobes would stop completely which made the jets was very hard to fallow by sight, then they would be bright again. Then I noticed a similar strobe light that was not a jet aircraft.

It was flashing red and white randomly, it would move then disappear and then reappear in another part of the sky. It's direction was never constant it seemed to wonder around the sky. It seemed that the jets were trying to get close to it.

Then, I noticed another smaller white light that was moving, (I thought it was a satellite at first) I then noticed another white light, the first white light proceeded to do a course change towards the second object and quick and smooth did a complete circle around this object. Both objects were white lights and m! oved away from each other and faded up into the night sky. All this happened while military jets were in the area circling.

I noticed the original (not jet aircraft) flashing object move west away from the city area. The jets fallowed, I watched the sky for about a half hour then the Jets went back over quickly to the East of the Des Moines area.

bright white light traveling north west to south east we went out into our drive way and we looked up to the west and noticed a moving bright white light moving to the south east. there were no flashing lights to be identified as an aircraft, it moved at a constant speed and as it got roughly 50 miles away the light went out. it appeared to be flying with an altitude similar to a small plane.

Bright white light in the sky that got brighter, turned red and was gone. At approx. 10:15 P.

M. Looking west and South of the Big Dipper I saw a white light that was not an Airplane. I saw no flashing lights.

The object was heading East from the West. At first I thought it may be a Sat. It seemed to slow down and off to East it got brighter.

Then I believe it stopped then turned red and was gone. I do not know what it is. I do know it was there.
