Green spherical object travels downward from north to south I was driving on the Francestown Turnpike, a two lane road without much traffic, in a westerly direction at the eastern edge of Francestown, NH at around 6:05 PM on Dec. 12th 09. It was dark outside with high cloud cover.
However, visibility to the cloud cover was very good. At the top right hand side of my front window I noticed a green, nearly perfectly sphere shaped object cross to my left going downward. It moved faster than an airplane would, in close to a straight line at around a 30 degree angle with respect to the ground.
The sighting lasted between 3-5 seconds and then it was behind trees some 100 ft. in the distance. The rate and angle of descent was unlike any aircraft I have ever seen.
There is no airport in the direction of the sighting. It is unclear how far away the object was or what its actual size was since I had no point of reference. The object was between the size of a green pea and a chick pea held at arms length.
It was uniformly a lum! inous green in color, not bright or directional, as an aircraft light might be. The center area of the object appeared to have a slightly less greenish color, but the object did appear otherwise to be perfectly spherical. In general, the object appeared to be traveling from north to south, but exact directions were impossible to determine.
There was no sound (windows rolled up) and no hint of any crash. Nothing was reported on local news about this incident or any type of airplane crash. I was returning from shopping and had nothing to drink that would impair my judgement.
I observe commercial jetliners overflying this road at night on a regular basis heading towards Manchester, NH airport. Manchester airport is situated to the east behind my direction of travel. This object was unlike anything I have observed in many decades of watching the night sky.
The object was definitely not a meteor. A meteor often has a streaky appearance, sometimes a tail and in my experience they! are never uniform spheres with defined edges. This object was! clearly in the unidentified category based upon my experience.
It is the only object I've ever observed that I could not readily explain.

Bright glowing lights, triangular shaped, ejecting something over town Saw a light formation in the sky. Lights would turn on and brighten to high intensity. While this was happening, could see something being projected from the light source.
It would fade to black. Could see the shape dimly in the sky. Then would re-illuminate itself in a different position in the sky.
Following the same pattern of lights and projections. Illuminations would last 3-5 seconds in each location. There was NO sound at all.
After the 3 time, heard a jet in the sky. The object kept moving overhead, over the town. Did this 4 times and then was out of range.
The color of the lights were a bright gold. As soon as we heard the jet, the object took off quickly. That is when we saw the last glowing.
Observers: 2 adults (special education teacher and a life coach for disabled adults) and 3 children (ages 16, 13, and 8) ((NUFORC Note: We have corrected the date above. We attempted to contact the witness, but unsuccessfully. We would welcome reports from other witnesses.

moving lights and screaming cats~!!! 500 Lights On Object0: Yes My roommate and I step on the back step to have a cigarette Dec 4th at 8 o'clock. When to my surprise my roommate points above the tree tops in the sky behind my house. To my astonishment I look up and see 6 lights moving in a row from left to right.
So I yell to my boyfriend to come out side, that my roommate and I thought we might have seen a UFO. He grabs the video camera but it appears dead. But he makes it to see the lights go from right to left disappear for a moment and then down up and disappear.
Then my roommate steps back in the house, leave my boyfriend and I out side. About 2 minutes later we hear a cat screaming in the woods. That is when I ran back inside.
It must have also killed our video camera cause it was charging all day and when my boyfriend tried to use it to capture the phenomenon it was dead. And our TV antenna was frozen for a couple minutes.

Light moving over Rumney, NH, vanishes in instant Traveling south on Stinson Lake Rd., in Rumney, NH, having just passed over the bridge which crosses the Baker River, about 1/2 mile from Rt. 25, I was traveling at about 25 mph directly, or nearly, towards the moon, which was merely a sliver.
I could make out the tree line in the night sky, and somewhat above the tree line I picked up a glowing object. It was much larger than a star or even planet in the sky, about the size of my thumb nail at arms distance, maybe slightly larger than that. It was a bright and contained light, not diffuse, and was traveling at a fairly slow speed at about a 20 degree downward angle towards the west (moving from my left to my right).
At first I thought it was a plane, or other known craft, but something about it was not quite right. It was descending towards an area where there was certainly no place to land, and it was too low. I watched it for about 10 seconds or less, and then it simply vanished.
Its vanishing point was above the tree line. That is when I thought it was almost certainly something odd. I drove about 500 more yards forward, and parked in the parking lot of the Stinson Mt.
Grill, and scanned the skies. I saw nothing else. Other cars passing by at that point didn't seem to be alert or disturbed by anything.
I asked a few folks in the Restaurant if they had seen anything, but none had. I really don't know if it had a rational, mundane explanation. At that point I simply could not classify my experience.

11/17/09 18:07 West Lebanon NH amber globes coming on and fading at the same rate in sequence in a straight line with no sound I am a Kitchen Designer. Leaving work, walking across the parking lot, I looked up at the sky as usual. I saw an amber colored, round light.
I heard no sound. First I thought it was a far off plane coming in for a landing. (Lebanon Airport is on a hill right behind my job site) then this light faded as another came on.
This was in a straight line, so I thought the plane was banking and I was seeing the other wing. Then another light came on at the same rate as the second one faded, still in this straight line, at about a 35 degree angle to horizon from right to left. still no sound.
I realized this was not a plane. They were not flares being dropped. Flares don't remain stationary.
Since it was dark, and the lights of the parking lot were on, I couldn't see a craft. The lights repeated this pattern at least 6 times. I am not sure how far away these lights were from my position, but they were low in the sky.
I stopped a coworker to show him just before the display ended. He was as baffled as I was. We could hear a plane take off from the airport.
It flew over us at this time. There was still no sound coming from the direction of the lights. I got into my car and drove out of the parking lot and onto the highway as fast as I legally could.
I wanted to get away from the parking lot lights. Looking in the direction the lights were, I saw nothing unusual, just stars, the sky was clear.

Black Triangle gliding over RT 93 Driving northbound on Rt. 93 at approx 6:05am I saw what looked like a shooting star. Glancing upwards to get a closer look and maybe see another shooting star, to my surprise instead I saw a black triangle gliding southbound about 50 to 75 ft in the sky.
There were 3 circular lights on the bottom of the triangle which was equilateral in shape. The 3 circles were glowing very dimly and were not radiating much light. The Triangle was very dark in color and I would have totally missed it if it wasn’t for the shooting star.
I believe that the shooting star may have actually come out of the triangle shaped object, but I can’t be sure since it happened so fast. A few other strange facts about what I witnessed: The shooting star appeared to shoot sideways and even a little upward which I have never seen before with a shooting star. Also the same night about 15-20 minutes later I saw two bright "stars" to the bottom left of the constellation Orion.
These stars seemed out of place and were pretty close to one another. I tried keeping my eyes on the two stars but trees blocked my view since I was driving through a forested area. Once I broke past the forested area the two stars were gone.
This all happened within a 30 second period from first noticing the stars and to them disappearing. I have to think that someone else must have seen this too since I was not the only vehicle on the highway at the time. Two red/orange round balls of star-like light hovering over us then disappearing. My wife and I had just left her parents house and were driving home. The area we live in is a dark area in New Hampshire away from city lights/other light pollution.
We were driving on the road, headed southwest. It was a fairly clear night and up in the sky, almost exactly overhead, but not quite (since I was able to see it out of the windshield) I saw two fairly bright red dots. They looked like stars but clearly were not, as they were a red to orange color.
They were spaced apart, maybe the length of a 12 inch ruler if one were to hold it out at arms length. I (a college educated stock broker) at first thought what I was seeing was seeing were airplanes, but both dots were stationary. After about a minute, one of the dots abruptly disappeared.
The other dot stayed but slowly faded away to nothing. I am not sure how long they were in the sky, we saw them only a minute, but they could have been there before (we had only just turned onto the road and saw them nearly immediately). My wife (a college educated teacher) saw them as well.
My first thought was possible military flares, but we don’t have much military activity in this area of New Hampshire. Since we were in the car, we were not able to hear if there was any noise accompanying the lights.

I saw a shiny object that shot across the northeast sky at a high rate of speed. I was traveling north on Pickering road in Rochester NH, around 7:00am, when I noticed above the horizon in the northeast sky which appeared to be a shiny metallic object undistinguishable in shape due to the amount of time I had to view the object. When first noticed the sun was shining on the object which gave it a brilliant appearance.
It seemed to be stationary when I first noticed it, then suddenly it shot across the northeast horizon at a very high rate of speed.

High Altitude silver object hovering over central New Hampshire on 9/26/09. On Sept 26th 2009 I was in Milford, New Hampshire just west of Manchester. I was with a friend of mine.
We are both highly experienced commercial airline pilots with almost 60 years and 40 thousand hrs of flight experience between us. Around noon time my friend called me excitedly to the outside of the garage we were working in. He pointed high up in the sky to the northeast of Milford towards a position I would have to say was very nearly overhead the city of Manchester.
As I looked I saw an object that had to be at an altitude of 70 to 80 thousand feet in altitude hovering over the Manchester area.(please keep in mind that we are both experienced pilots used to making accurate judgements of an object's altitude.) It was spherical in shape and a greyish silver color.
This object hovered stationary for some 30 to 40 minutes. I have seen high altitude weather ballons and I know that it would be impossible for a weather balloon at that altitude to remai! n perfectly stationary for even a few seconds even on the calmest of days As for the idea of a helicopter, the object's altitude rules that out.(Most helicopters can't hover out of ground effect much above 10 thousand ft.
Cerainly none at 70 to 80 thousand ft.) We both watched the object for 30 to 40 minutes and then watched it takeoff to the northeast at such a high rate of speed it almost appeared to vanish. I don't know what this was but I'm pretty damn sure what it wasn't and so is my friend.

I was driving on route 127 towards Franklin from the Sanborton area. I was with 2 friends. We had just passed the damn, on our right was an opening and we saw a circular or disk shaped object in the sky, it was still in the sky with a , we watched it for about 7 to 10 seconds.
We then lost it because there was a line of trees in our was. So we turned around to go look at it again, I saw it in the sky and it was moving in the same direction that we were. This was back towards Sanborton.
We followed it for about 4 or 5 seconds then lost it.

White light without noise to go with it I was standing in my back yard looking at the stars around 1am on 9/20/09 when without warning a white light started to light the trees in the farthest part of my yard and proceeded to sweep down towards me. It lit the inside of my yard, against the trees on both sides so I knew it wasn’t coming from the neighbors’ house or the woods. It proceeded to me, lit up where I was standing and went up and lit up my house.
At that point everything was as bright as a football stadium. Just as fast, the light went out and I could see the stars again. I live on a flight path for Manchester Airport and when the light started, I was expecting to hear jet engines, but when the light went out, all was quiet.
Not even a cricket.

Growing, star-like object expels glowing cloud and then collapses into cloud and is gone. In the Southern sky, about 30 degrees up from the horizon was a star that rapidly got brighter and larger. No noise just a bright white light getting bigger.
There are no clouds in the sky. The "star" appears to expel a gas-like, bluish, white cloud that falls downward. Maybe this is an explosion? The star remains in place and the "cloud" looks like it is starting to hang in a triangle shape (with the "star" at the apex).
Bright light comes from the "star" and illuminates the triangle shaped cloud below. The "star" then appears to collapse into the glowing cloud. The "star" disappears into the cloud and is gone.
The cloud glows brighter…bluish green. Slowly the cloud fades away. This whole process took about one and a half minutes.
There was no sound other than a helicopter off to the right of this object. Three of us were feeding horses out in the field and the other person was checking on the steaks on the grill (and saw most of what we saw!) ((NUFORC Note: Missile launch. PD)).

Ball of flame that appeared to prepare to land! I was standing on my back porch, and noticed a big flame type of object in the sky. I called my family out to view it, and they were able to actually make it oustside, and see what I saw. The object came closer to the tree line, and all of a sudden two streams of light projected from the bottom as if it was preparing to land.
i'm not sure as to what we witnessed, but it appeared to be an aircraft on fire or something else. My wife ran out with our video camera, but by that time it was below the treeline. I have never in my life witnessed such a thing! It seemed like 50, 100 or more miles out from us.
It was undeterminable as to what the distance actually was. It seemed awfully close!!!.

oval-like craft with one blinking red light and a white the left and right side- turned clockwise until vertical & top white separated I was standing on my back porch smoking a cigarette when I noticed what I thought was a plane (since I am in a fly-zone). It was a red blinking light with one white light at 9'clock and another white light at 3'clock. I started to realize it was strange when the white lights were not blinking (which would have been the wings of a plane).
I called to my husband to come out and look at it. The lights around the object were actually illuminating the craft. 'If it were a plane that low, why aren't we hearing any sound?' is what was going through my mind.
As it was moving towards the east, towards the hill in front of our house, the white lights moved clock-wise so the object was now vertical. We both are saying out loud "what the heck is that!!". At this time the white light that was now at 12'clock separated moving up- further away from the other lights.
It continued to follow the lights (i say 'lights' now that the craft is not visible by illumination). We bot! h ran through the house to the front to watch it more. As it reached towards the horizon of the hill the white light that was at 12'clock was gone and a quick flash of white light (as if the flash of a camera) was seen in the north.
After this flash the lights were now beyond the hill's horizon and out of our sight. About 4-5min after this we returned to the back porch. My husband soon noticed a bright whitish light coming from the west (near where the border patrol is located in VT) towards the east moving slower than a 'shooting star' but too fast to be a plane.
I only noticed this light at about the half-way point of where my husband first noticed it. Just after that left our sight there was a plane moving towards the same direction. About 3m after this there was another plane heading in the same direction of the craft.
There seems to be a lot of flight activity tonight and I'm hoping these pilots noticed what we did. We're having a hard time naming the shape of the craft. It was almost like a really fat cigar shaped or oval-like.
We could only see what was facing us. I'm not sure if there was another side of the craft that was not visible to us or not. It could have been saucer shaped but it's hard to say.
I really hope there is someone else around that witnessed the same thing.

It was a triangle with four lights three white ones and a red blinking one underneath. I was driving on the highway leaving keene and I saw a low flying craft that had four lights, three white ones on each of the triangles points and a blinking red one underneath. I don't know if it was a plane or what, I just get a feeling that it wasn't.
It was moving, at a regular pace, just king of moving along. The flat edge of the triangle was at the front and the point with the white light was at the back. My husband was with me but he was sleeping.

an almost circular object, perched in the sky Looking southeast from near Manchester airport, the circular craft is just sitting there. I used binoculars and could draw it but can't describe it too well with words. It had a couple of bright lights and then the rest was lit up with a criscross pattern.
It's now 03:05 and it has moved somewhat to the west. It's at about a 30 degree angle upwards of where I'm standing. I am of sound mind and have never thought that I saw a UFO before tonight.
I watched it for about an hour. ((NUFORC Note: Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD)).

White-Yellowish light too large to be a plane hanging in the sky for a minute or so. I was driving home on Route 108 North in Kensington, NH. As I was approaching the local elementary school, toward the North, I could see a large light sort of hovering in the sky.
At first, I thought it could be the moon, but I very quickly realized that it was some sort of aircraft hanging in the sky. One thing was clear: the light was too large to be a plane. I couldn’t keep my eyes off the light, as it was so bright it could be seen through patches of trees.
The light was round and had a yellowish tint to it. I continued to track the light until I lost sight of it, almost as if it had left my horizon. The experience lasted about a minute or so.
Briefly after, I tried to call my father. When I connected to his phone, I heard muffled background noise. I listened as long as I could bear before I was too freaked out to continue.
I called my father again, and when I connected, he claimed that I had not gone through to his phone. I’m not sure if there was some type of electrical interference, but I have never had any type of call quite like that. My hometown, Exeter, NH, is known for some of its encounters with UFO’s.
The area supposedly has a high propensity due to its proximity with the Pease Air Force Base and the Seabrook Power Plant. All that I can say was that I saw some type of unnatural light it thoroughly freaked me out. I am a senior at Saint Anselm College.
((NUFORC Note: The ISS was not visible from Kensington, NH, on July 27. PD)).

bright light descending slowly in the east/northeast I had gone outside tonight, 5/12/2009, approximately around 21:35 to take the dog out. I had looked up to see a really bright white (star-like) light in the sky. I noticed it descending slowly.
At first I thought it were just my eyes, but after watching for about 10 more sec I knew I was definitely seeing it correctly. I immediately ran inside and yelled to my husband to come look at it. We both watched as this bright light descending very slowly behind the hills in the east/northeast.
This light was almost 2x's the size of the brightest star/planet that had been just to the left of the light when I had first noticed it.
