My husband and I were driving down Route 46 in Bucksport in December of 2009 when we saw something in the distance that looked strange.it was slow moving and just over the tree tops, very large, greyish in color and triangle shaped with lights on it. We watched it move toward us and slowed down to get a better look, it got quite close from what I remember, I tried to get my husband to stop but he thought we would get a better look at a different angle but when we got to where he wanted to go it was gone.
I had just been to the hospital and had a procedure done so I was on some pretty serious medication (which had actually worn off by this time), so my memory isn't as good as I would like it to be but I remember it being huge and did not look like anything I had ever seen before (or since) and it made no noise and did not look like anything that should even be in the air, especially going as slow as it was going. It had lights on it but I don't remember the color or shape of them, all I remember is that I couldn't take my eyes off of them. I don't remember alot of details about it but know it was not something ordinary.
My husband cannot get it out of his head and I don't have a great recollection of it and am not sure why. You are welcome to contact me for more details or whatever. Thanks.

Triangular shaped craft over rt 46 We were going home from Bangor when a huge triangular/slice of pie shaped craft "floated" from west to east in front of us, across the road, and out over the treeline and out of site. It made no sound, it had lights in its underbelly, the sides and back looked.industrial like.
it was drab grey in color.it looked like it had been underwater a long time because it had strings of kelp, and barnicles attached to it. It was moving so slow that I couldn't understand how it stayed flying.
We saw this thing in full daylight, about 1500 ft or so away. I'd like to talk to someone about this, I can't seem to get it out of my head. ((NUFORC Note: We have spoken via.

circular light /orange craft out running a pursuing military helicopter As I was driving down route 201 south to augusta I saw what appeared to be bright orange light, circular in shape, traveling parallel to me. Trailing it was a convential aircraft of some kind, because I could see the strobe lights at the base, tail of the aircraft. As I drove down the road the craft passed diagnol to my position about three or four miles from my position, followed by the other aircraft in pursuit.
All of a sudden the light took off and left the second aircraft far behind and it did not slow down till I lost sight of it. As I finally pulled into my parking lot at the condo, I identified the craft that had been following the circular light. My father and I have been attending airshows since I was five and I can identify every convential, man made aircraft in the world.
So as I was walking in overhead flew a Black Hawk helicopter, I assume is stationed with the medivac unti based out of Bangor Maine. They are a constant presence in the air here! in the kennebec county airspace and ther engine sound and cavatation noise of there rotors are unmistakable. I know aircraft, and I know what a planet or a star, or meteorite looks lik and this was not any of those.
There was a planet shinning brightly in the sky tonight but this object was no where near that planet.

Observed two lights hovering and then moving south south East over the coast of Maine at approx Freeport , for 30 minutes traveling north on I 295 near Cumberland, Maine, I observed two bright lights (orb shaped) hovering over the coastline over an area between Brunswick and Freeport Maine. The lights hovered for about ten minutes and then began to move south south east along the coast towards Yarmouth (in my direction) and Portland. I pulled over and looked at them with a pair of field glasaes and saw what looked like three landing lights (I am a lic pilot with over 1200hrs) in a row * * *.
At first the lights were about 20 to 25 deg above the horizon and about 15 deg apart. They kept the distance between them at all times. I continued to watch for a total of 30 minutes, they stayed the "same" intensity color etc at all times.
The lights were white with no colors. At no time did I observe "strobes" such as aircraft anticollision lights or position lights of red or green. When I drove off northbound, the lights had not reached the 90 deg position yet but were still movi! ng slowly down the coastline.
I was unable to est the size without knowing just how far away they were. I was able to view them in my mirrors for about two minutes after driving off.

Amber colored pulsing object with no sound hovered low to the ground for about 5 minutes. My wife and daughter watched an amber colored pulsing object hovering with no sound over the lake. We could see this from our back yard.
The colors were very vivid, I would say about 150-200 feet off the ground. After watching the craft for about 5-7 minutes it took off unexplainably fast at 45 degree angle. This was an incredible experience.

November 15th 2009, I stepped out of my mother’s small home in Litchfield Maine to smoke a cigarette. I usually stand on the porch itself but for some reason I decided to trek down the four steps onto the dirt drive way below. I lit my smoke and looked to the sky like I sometimes do and noticed a small blue star to the east.
Venus was clear tonight. As I stood there taking in the beauty of the stars something caught my vision. I looked almost precisely north to see a fairly odd ball of light moving in extremely bizarre and unrecognizable motions.
I stood in awe for at least twenty minutes watching the very graceful light dance around the sky, I am surely no pilot but I can most definitely recognize a passing plane or helicopter with ease. This I assure was neither. It changed colors from a light florescent white to a light blue and once in a while almost the color of the glow from a fire.
It maneuvered in and out of clouds at top notch speeds making turns I have never seen even jets make. Hair point turns around in circles and zig zags… As fast as I could hold my finger up to it and point swiveling my finger around, it moved. I realized I was the only witness, so I ran inside to get my sister.
She was skeptic of my claims at first until she stepped outside and witnessed it herself. She could not believe her eyes either! We both made sporadic phones calls; one of witch was to the local News Paper the Kennebec Journal whom witch had nothing to say but plenty to laugh about. My brother suggested I call the state police to document the incident, I obliged.
All the while this light continued to move extremely fast around the evening sky. My sister went in and out of the house as my eyes stayed affixed on the orb. It seemed to travel further then closer, so on and so forth.
One of the last times my sister went back inside I saw something very piculure, the one orb had split into two, both making similar sweeping patterns over a widespread area of the northern and eastern sky. By this time I had made my report with the police and they said someone would call me back. I went back inside to get another cigarette and my sister to see the now two lights above.
When we got back outside we looked up to see at least 4 other lights circling the sky. We watched this event for at least 30 more minutes. My sister returned inside and I followed.
I got a drink and received a call back from the police officer on duty saying he was busy but he would be there ASAP. I went back outside alone. This time it was back to just two lights twisting around.
One of them seemed very close. I could make out a disk shape siluette in the clouds with the lights illuminating from it. I pulled my phone out and use it as a video recorder, unfortunately it was the only piece of equipment I had.
I managed to capture the original disk of light but obviously on my phone it was a tiny ball of light. It moved around my screen as I held my phone as still as possible. I went back inside.
About 10 minutes later one officer pulled in the driveway across the street from us. I went out and yelled for him to get his attention. As he turned around I looked to the sky again to see nothing but fog.
He pulled in our driveway and got out and we discussed what my sister and I had seen and I showed him the video. He seemed like he wanted to believe, but he also seemed like he had to see it to believe it. And then it faintly returned, he watched the strange techniques of the light rome around the sky.
He admitted it was not any form of aviation he had seen, not a helicopter or plane nor a satellite because it was below the clouds. We watched it together with my sister until it got so far away and faint we could no longer see it. We talked about it a little, he made a small report and left.
That was the last time I saw the lights in the sky about 3 hours after it began it was over just as easy. Thank you for letting me post my report here. Keep your eyes to the sky in Maine and maybe (hopefully) you will be able to verify my reports.

bright lights above us that lit up the night sky with no noise from the object While driving home from shopping we were on the Hallowell Litchfield Road about 1/2 mile from the intersection of Northern Avenue and Hallowell Litchfield Road we encountered an object approx 200 to 300 feet above us that illuminated lights that lit up the whole area like it was day time. We slowed down to get a look at what it was but was unable to make out the object because of the bright lights but their was no noise from what ever the object was above us and then the lights went off and we broke sight from the object.

A bright light in the treeline It was around 3:30 am when I let my dog out to go to the bathroom. I was standing in the door way looking out into our back yard which is just a giant open empty field with a few clumps of trees and I saw a light in the tree line that I thought was a four wheeler. Basically I the only way it could have been a four wheeler or ATV would be if it was hanging in the tree.
I screamed for my boyfriend to come out of the bedroom to check it out and when he did he took one look at whatever this was ran out to grab the dog and ran back inside. We both stood there and blinked to try and make sense of what we were seeing. The light got brighter and bigger and was just in one spot for a minute or two.
I got freaked out and ran into the bedroom and hid under the covers. My boyfriend stood there and said that after the light became really bright it quickly shot up into the air till he couldn't see it any longer. I was scared for the rest of the night and every noise I hea! rd made me even more scared.
I almost jumped into the car to go stay at a hotel. And just so you know I don't believe in things unless I can see them with my own eyes and this made me a believer in something. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate.

Flashing light over Black Cap This was the 4th or 5th time I was able to see these lights. From the 302/5/113 traffic light in the center of Fryeburg - look from where NAPA used to be. Locate Black Cap to the west of where you stand.
Follow the ridge line south to the next shelf, Middle Mtn?, look up anywhere from 15-45 degrees. What I saw was a very slowly moving, appeared to be stationary unless you gauges it's location using a fixed object, one night climbing then dropping, others dropping, another fading from view then returning. The object at first appeared to be a bright very flashy star, upon closer inspection there were colors present in the 'twinkles' - green, red, orange & white.
In conjunction with the flashing light disappearing another light to the north was noticed - strong white light, on then off.

Large ball of light, streaking south to north, over Deer Isle, Maine. We were out on the deck in North Deer Isle, it was still daylight, and I saw a ball of light going from south to north. It was too fast for an aircraft and seemed to arc like it was following the horizon.
My guess was it was a meteor but I've been googling this event and no one else seems to have seen it. I have seen "falling stars" before but this didn't seem to look like that, as it was a larger ball of light and seemed closer than a falling star. I, too, am a skeptic about sightings, and 3 other people were out there with me, but none of them saw it.
I was telling a story and stopped, mid sentence, and stared at it as it flew by, but by the time my friends looked up where I was looking it was gone, as it only lasted MAYBE 2 seconds at the most. ((NUFORC Note: Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD)).

Bright blue beam hovering, slowly descending to the ground. No sound at all, 6 witnesses My family and I were sitting around a fire roasting marshmallows, all of a sudden my sister (age 27) started freaking out, My dad age (48) was asking what she was freaking out about she couldnt get the words out of her mouth fast enough so she was just pointing and screaming. I witnessed a neon blue SUPER bright light hovering appx a 1/2 mile away, It was about 300ft above the ground and slowly descending.
It was hard to tell what shape the light was attached to but seemed like a disk shape, the light was so bright it made a huge beam all the way to the ground until it was within tree level and unable to be seen. At this time my whole family had seen it, a very unusal thing that also happened was all the neighborhood dogs began to bark continuously. There was no sound that came from the craft itself, The sky was completely clear, there was no wing markers or anything else on the ufo that lead us to believe it was a typical airplane or helocopter.
Im now a fi! rm believer of UFO's.

We were having a fire and saw a very bright cone shaped light above the tree line, it stayed for a minute or so then vanished. It was Saturday, September 19th, around 7:45pm. I was sitting around a fire with my Husband, Brother in law, 2 nieces(ages 2 and 5), my daughter(age 2 1/2)and 2 other friends when my brother in law saw a bright light in the sky.
He said, "Whats that"?! We all turned to look and saw a very bright light hovering above the tree line. It was almost like a giant spotlight in the sky that was triangular in shape. It stayed there for about a minute or 2 then slowly started to fade/drop? It just disappeared.
There was nothing around for sound other then the crackling of the fire. No sounds of any type of air craft, just that one bright light. It reminded me of a movie, I was almost expecting to see a cow raise up or something.
We attempted to take photos with 2 different cameras. One camera cought only darkness and the other is so filled with orbs its hard to see anything. We all truly feel we saw something very unusual.
Wheather its a UFO or not is to be determined by you but we all know what we saw and it ws something I will never forget. ((NUFORC Note: Missile launch. PD)).

triangle shapes hovering over Kezar Lake at sunset. Myself and 4 others were on top if a mountain watching the sun set. Over Kezar Lake we noticed two triangular very dark shapes literally hovering like a kit in the wind.
However, these objects were several hundreds of feet in the air. One of the black shapes went left about 30 yards a literally dissipated right in front of our eyes. The second object still hovering did the exact same thing in a slightly different direction.
We all literally watched the second object in motion go from solid mass into a light grey partially see through and then gone right before our very eyes. Has anyone else seen this before?.

we both could not believer what we saw Myself 51 y.o male and 16 y.o.
stepson were on back deck I observed a highly polished silver objest appearing to have flat bottom and round on top,it had no tail, no wings, no blades and only a slight hum for sound as it passed directly overhead on the horizon it took approximately 10 seconds from time spotted until it dissapeared on opposite horizon I believe east to west in direction.

Two lights ran across the sky, as bright as the North star but twice as fast as any sattelite. - the first object seemed to hit someth Three people outside in a clearing were talking about starts and satellites when, from the southwest at 8:07 PM came a bright object similar in size and brightness to the North star, and seemingly as far away. Only seconds after it came into view over the tree line, the object looked to have hit something.
That is, it was similar to what a nuclear explosion might look like in space, but it did not change brightness, speed or direction. It was moving about twice as fast as the fastest satellite we could see, and directly North East in course. The ensuing cloud or haziness around the object dissipated after only five to ten seconds or so after "impact" which was when we noticed a second object "chasing" the first.
That is, it was on the same course maybe ten seconds behind. The second object had no "impact like" event. They both disappeared over the horizon after ten minutes or so.
Neither object had any kind of tail or trail behind it, they just looked like moving stars. No, I was not drinking. We are dying of curiosity.
What were they?? ((NUFORC Note: ISS & Space Shuttle. PD)).

A pair of round Orange glowing craft several hundred feet in the air moving up the Maine Coastline silently. My wife and I were just leaving our friends house in Wells Maine along route 1 when we saw in front of us a couple hundred feet up a pair of bright orange glowing spheres traveling from south to north along the coast line and a moderate pace. We found it strange that they emitted no noise.
Other cars stopped to observe this as well. No one knew what these were. They went out of site after a few minutes.

Small star-like white light seen 3 separate times, seach time changing direction, travelling straight, and ascending until out of view. I was outside having a smoke staring at the sky when I suddenly noticed a small moving point of light up in the sky that would have looked like a star had it been stationary. It moved through the sky in a pretty straight path though it did deviate from it's path slight at times.
Twice, it quickly skipped forward at 45 degree angles. I will say that I saw the light three separate times so I have no way of knowing if it was the same light three times or individual lights. There were a two separate airplanes in the sky during my sighting which gave a good point of reference.
The planes had flashing lights and were much closer as the lights were much larger than the tiny points of moving lights that I saw. While the planes were clearly much closer, the light moved across the sky several times faster than the planes. The first time I saw the light it was flying to the North through the sky and as it flew over my house, it slowed gradually as the light grew smaller until I could no longer see it.
It gave the impression that it quickly angled upwards to an altitude at which the light could no longer be seen but I can't be sure. I stayed, watching the sky, and 10 minutes later it reappeared in much the same way that it had disappeared, horizontally, further to the right going the opposite direction it had been going initially. It traveled across the sky going to the South in the same way as before and disappeared again exactly as it had the first time.
5 minutes later, it reappeared the same way a third time further to the North, having changed directions to the North yet again. It traveled and disappeared in the same way again. I waited for 10 more minutes to see if it would return and I did not see it again.
Each of the three sightings lasted approximately 15-25 seconds. I did see a small meteor though which was CLEARLY different; it was very bright and only visible for a fraction of a second.

bright circle of intense light that vanished into a pinpoint My boy friend and I were swimming outside our remote lakeside camp. When we got out of the water, we were drying off on the dock. My BF said, "What the h__is that?" About 30 degrees above the horizon, there was a large, intensely bright cirlce of light.
It was still daylight. The light was so bright it reflected in the water, casting a reflection like a full moon-- but much brighter. Out camp is in a remote area.
There are no close neighbors. It was absolutely silent. The water was flat calm.
We watched this for 1 to 2 minutes. Then it disappeared. It disappeareed as old TV sets used to turn off.
Quickly going from a full bright circle down to a pinpoint of light, then it was gone. Neither my Bf or I had ever seen anything that could have been a UFO before. We have always been skeptical of sightings.
I am 57, my bf is 66. He is an optometrist. We both have 20/20 eyesight.
My bf has had a private pilot's license for 35 years. There is no explanation taht we could think of for this object.
