Nebraska UFO Sightings in 2009

Stationary, circular, metallic, flat object in sky for over an hour. NOTE: I am not certain that the year is even correct for this incident. I was living in Lincoln Nebraska at the time.

I do recall it was winter and I was headed to the mall so I'm assuming it was before Christmas. The skies in the Midwest during the winter are different than the skies in the PNW. They are always clear and the sun shines, regardless of the deepness of the snow and ice or how low the freezing temps are.

Anyway, I was headed to the mall on a flat and very open stretch of road. The area had not been completely developed yet. I looked up, I saw something circular and metallic looking in the sky.

what I'm assuming to be VERY far up there. I really have no way to judge its distance. I followed the bend in the road which made it to where I'd be on the "side" of the object.

the object had vanished. Continued following the road which lead to another bend which put me back in "front" of the object and there it was. It appeared to me that it was as thin as a piece of paper to completely vanish when looking at it from the side.

I made it to the mall, did shopping and left. I'm assuming I was there 90 minutes to 2 hours. I took the same path home.

The same round, metallic, flat object was there again. I'm sure I ended up telling everyone I know the next couple of days and continue to tell people. I only just found this website this evening or I would have reported it years ago.

Truth is I lean more to the notion that it was a portal or wormhole if you will, and with science recently discovering their existence, short appearance and unpredictability, I'm certain that's what it was.but maybe not.

I was looking up at around 23:00 northwards, and saw what appeared to be a rainbow-colored, as in changing colors, up in the sky. It stayed for a while, drifting slowly, then shot of towards the west, and it was gone. I heard a small bang, but the person next to me didn't see or hear it.

Strange orange orb on 10/31 Went trick or treating with some friends and saw a strange orange light (orb) in the sky. We watched it for about 3 minutes as it moved around and than it disappeared. About 30 minutes later it reappeared and moved acrossed the sky and than disappeared again.

Later that night probably an hour or so later we saw it again however this time there were 3 of them.

multi colored stationary objects viewed from Fort Calhoun NE on Sept. 26, 2009 at approximately 2200 - 2230 The object is currently sitting say 55 degrees off the NWN horizon. Use the last star in the handle of the big dipper and go down at an angle.

The 'star???' appears to have many colors, blue, green, yellow, red, pink. The second anomolie is in the NEN sky about 60 degrees off the horizon just below the constellation Cassiopeia. This anomolie also has the colors red, green, yellow blue & pink.

I did take a few pictures, before my camera started to get fickle. I am not an astral photograher nor am I versed in night photography so these appear as blurry dots, or trails of multi-colored lights. This is the second time I've seen this.

Pod or cigar shaped craft over plattsmouth A silverish white pod like craft over plattsmouth,NE It was september,20 at approximately 3:14 pm the sky was clear very few clouds. I came out on my porch to observed what i thought was a plane,but as i looked closer i observed that it was indeed something remarkable.It was what i have seen before in this town on many occasions and this time was no different.

it was a cigar or pod like craft with no wings and no noise i have read reports of this same craft being seen around this area so i know it is not just me seen what my mind wants me to see. This craft looks like a commercial plane at a distance,but i have seen this craft up close before and it is weird, very different from most UFO's.I keeping having repeated sightings, it's up to six of this same UFO now and i will continue to make reports as i see them.

I urge anyone that spots this same UFO to make a report so that we may get to the bottom of what i am dubbing now as the tri-county area UFO.

Orange fireball looking object moving very slowely in the sky. I saw on orange object, which looked like a fireball, moving very slowly from east to west. The object very quickly rose to a much higher altitude, then moved very slowly again from east to west.

I left my apartment around 9:15 PM. It was dark out. I walked toward my car in the parking lot of the apartment complex.

To the east (or right of me) was the biggest, brightest white circular light I have ever seen. The object looked like an intense light with an aura of lighter light around it. It was coming right towards me like it was going to land in the parking lot.

The object got bigger and bigger until it was around fifty yards in diameter and fifty yards away from me. I then went inside my apartment scared and looked out the widow. It was still hovering in the same place and was the same size.

It then unnaturally stopped and shot straight up in the air super fast and then disappeared in less than a second. After a few minutes, I decided to go outside again and got in my car. My neighbor was driving into the parking lot at that time.

As I was telling her what happened from my car, the object reappeared again. I got out of my car. The circular white light then moved towards us in the same manner it did before until it appeared it was around fifty yards away from us.

A third witness also viewed the object from his balcony. The object stopped again and shot up into the sky in the same manner it had before. We waited a few hours for it to come back but it never did.

Bright star flashing different colors in western sky. I was just arriving home from the store about 10:15PM on 9-8-2009 when I noticed my two neighbors sitting outside on the stoop of our apartment complex staring up at the sky. As I walked up to them I asked, "What are you looking at, a UFO?" To my surprise, the gentleman said, "I don't know, maybe!" I then proceeded to look up in the western sky and noticed what looked to be a bright star.

The "star" then started "blinking/flashing" different colors like red, blue and silver/white. The thing that was weird was it was flashing these colors all at once like red on top, blue on bottom but flashing very fast sometimes in a steady pattern. It would flash and strobe red, blue, red, blue, then blue on top, then red on bottom and all of a sudden it would be a solid silver/white light for like 3 seconds, then go back to the red, blue flashing! At first I thought it maybe could be a satellite but I thought they could reflect the sunlight in such a pattern.

I have NEVER seen anything like this in my life! I ran inside and grabbed my digital camera to snap a few pictures and by the time I got back outside, two more of my neighbors were also out looking at the "star". What I thought was weird was that every picture I took the "star" showed up in the LCD screen on the camera but not in the actual photos! (Just my luck!) We continued to watch the weird object for another 25 minutes or so and I noticed that it had been moving away ever so slightly WNW in the sky until it finally was out of our view from the apartment complex stoop. I started to tell my friends about it over the next few days and I think they thought I was crazy or something.

A few days later, on of those friends came over to visit and told me that they had seen the exact same "star" that I had described to them earlier that week!!!.

Ufo right above tree 50-80 foot. I was in my back yard looking at chem-things with my dogs when I noticed a golden ball or ufo above me neigh boors tree watching me. I couldn't believe it i walked over to the north an the ball went to the tree that was north of me.

I wanted to see what it was so I started moving my head left to right. The ball did the same exact movement. I went in the house to get a camera an I couldn't find the ball anywhere told the police they said nothing this was in west omaha.

Bright flash of light followed by trail About 30 minutes ago, I was walking to my car outside my apartment building and I saw a bright flash fill up the sky. At first I thought it was lightning because it was kind of muggy out but when I turned around to see if it might be I looked up and I saw a bright trail of light that slowly dissipated. The trail of light lasted about 30 seconds and disappeared.

When it did it vanish the trail was going from south west to north east. I am a 31 year old male and grew up in this region. I have seen this one other time when I was about 17 in a town about 90 miles east of where I am now.

I am a high school and college graduate.

I walked out of the house at 10 PM and something caught my eye, so I looked up and saw a Rectangle Object with a White Light on each corner, and a Red light Flashing in the Middle. It was being followed by what Appeared to be a Unmanned drone.It was moving slow from North east to Southwest.

This thing didn't seem to make any noise at all. My son went on youtube right away and was looking up sightings, and found the exact same UFO was being chased by F-16s over Belgium 12 years ago. WOW we are excited.

I have Lived here for 50 years and have seen 7 Ufos around here in the last 6 years. I come from a Family of Pilots, Private and Military so I would like to think I know the difference.

A white aircraft, almost resembling a commercial airliner, vanished before my eyes. The aircraft did not posess normal characteristics. I have never experienced an incident in which the sight of something unfamiliar in the sky has compelled me to believe it to be foreign to Earth.

However, I do seriously entertain the idea that there is intelligent life elsewhere in the vast depths of space, albeit with a small dose of skepticism. I do not want to jump to the conclusion that what I just encountered was truly an alien aircraft, but it's behavior puzzled me. At around 18:40 PM on Tuesday, August 18th of 2009, I was at work and decided to take a break for a cigarette.

I was seated on the loading dock, facing south, when something in the sky caught my eye. The sky was very clear, almost cloudless, and I distinctly saw a white shape, which I first believed to be a normal commercial airplane, traveling west. After further inspection I realized that the object did not resemble any airplane I had seen before, as it had no markings on it.

It also didn't have any distinct shading, by that I mean to say that I could not concretely identify any appendages that would normally be visible, such as the wings. It was also traveling at a higher speed than a plane like that normally seems to move. It was quite far away, and I do not have the best eyesight.

I could not hear the roar of any engine, but that is most likely due to the distance. Also, there was no cloudy trail left behind in the craft's wake. While I was still inspecting the object, keeping it in my line of sight, it vanished.

I got off the loading dock so I could have a better view of sky above me and searched for the object, but I could not find it.

Saw 7 ufo's in the night sky of alliance, all within a 30 minute time-period, most of which were going different directions. I was outside on the phone with my father, when all of a sudden in the northeastern part of the sky, I noticed a white light in the sky, it was moving faster than a satellite, and slightly brighter than one. I started shouting at my dad over the phone that I was looking directly right at one, as I have been seeing these for a couple months now.

Suddenly out of the corner of my eye, I saw another one, moving in the same direction, but from a different point of the sky. It was at this time I got real excited, and started to scan the sky with my eyes to see if there were more. So I went out to the street and looked behind the house, and saw another one moving in the opposite direction of where the other 2 were heading (away from me).

Within minutes, another one came from the direction that the 3rd was moving, but heading in the complete opposite direction (toward me). It was at this point that I got off the phone with my father to go get my wife so she could witness this phenomenon. As soon as we came back out, she spotted one moving right over our heads (the 5th one), at that point she was pretty nervous.

Then as luck would have it, we see another (the 6th) coming from a completely new direction, lost sight of it as it was moving even faster than the others and quickly faded behind the trees. Right before going inside, we spotted one last one (a 7th). It too was moving fairly quickly, and within a matter of a couple minutes it was out of sight.

At that point our necks hurt and we went inside. All-in-all, a very exciting night for the city of alliance, NE. I see sightings here all the time, it's a real hot-spot for ufo activity, and furthermore I will start reporting more often now that my dad introduced me to this website.

I Encourage any ufologists out there to come stay in alliance and go sky-searching at night, from 9am, to 5am for some really exciting sightings. ((NUFORC Note: We suspect that the objects may have been satellites. PD)).

Looked like a star moving very rapidly across the sky, too fast for a satellite. Me and my parents saw a light that looked very much like a star moving quickly across the sky, it had to be low and may have been within the atmosphere, but was not an airplane. It took about 5 minutes for it to cross the sky last night, and tonight we spotted it halfway through the sky - and it took maybe three minutes to cross the horizon.

Cylindrical object with bright orange light. While relaxing on my patio at about 2115 hours I saw a cylindrical object in the sky. It was about 9’ tall and 5’ wide.

It had a bright orange light that changed colors at the bottom and made no noise. It traveled from east to west near the Lincoln municipal airport. It traveled very slowly in a steady non changing course.

It was dusk and there were fireworks in the vicinity.

This object lit up like a miniature sun several miles across and then shot off into space. While fishing at a pond north of Filley Nebraska we observed a strange light in the sky. This light was very high and far away to the northeast.

Suddenly the light expanded to a very bright ball that must have been several miles across and looked like a miniature sun. This only lasted about 10 seconds. In the center of the light was the small lighted object which then headed east and up at a very high rate of speed and was gone from sight in 2-3 seconds.

Three professional people observed this object. No drugs or alcohol were involved.

Willowcreek Park, Omaha, UFO sighting - June 19, 2009 We were at the park around 9:45pm on Friday, June 19, 2009 when the four children we were with started shouting and telling us to look at the “fireball” in the sky. When we (2 adults) turned to look at where they were pointing (to the east) we saw a fairly large, brightly lit “flying craft” in the sky just above the treetops and houses moving towards us. I first assumed it was a prop plane flying low, but immediately realized it was not the shape of an airplane (or firework or comet or military plane, etc).

It was a boxy-circular shape (somewhat trapezoidal at first), very brightly lit with an orange-yellow light. The entire craft was covered with a haze that seemed to diffuse the perimeter edges, which is why I can’t put a name to the shape. There was a brighter spot of light in the center of the object.

It was moving towards the park clearing, but when the kids started shouting and pointing the craft stopped moving forward and began to hover. It hovered for several seconds, and then began moving back – to the east – in the direction that it was originally coming from. As it got smaller it seemed to change into an elongated oval, then in an instant it was just gone! Two of the children said it was as if when they started pointing and shouting, the craft “noticed them” and stopped moving towards us.

It was pretty close to us, but there was no noise. It was totally silent. In all, we watched it for approximately 20 seconds.

The children saw it for about 5 seconds longer because they saw it first.

I saw, just above the tree line, a hovering object, probably a half mile a way. I slowed down my car. I was driving to meet a friend for his birthday and I noticed out of my car window on highway 275, just above the tree line, a hovering object, probably a half mile a way.

I slowed down my car, though could not come to a complete stop due to traffic. My thought upon first glance was that it must be a cropduster plane or something and that it looked stationary because it was coming in my direction. I discovered, though, that it wasn't moving at all--it was hovering, and did not look anything like a plane.

It had somewhat rounded top like a tradional UFO drawing, but had sides that seemed to come down at about a twenty and then seventy degree angle (rather than the disk). I looked at it as long as I could, but then it disappeared.
