Nebraska UFO Sightings in 1991

Small orange fluorescent object seen S in distance, disappears, then rushes vehicle in northerly direction, narrowly missing windshield. Strobe-like flash accompanied at point of near-impact. I was driving 55-60 mph on the highway south of Pleasanton, NE, when I saw a small, orange, fluorescent object ahead in the distance.

I dismissed it as a powerline reflector usually seen near small, rural airports, forgetting that there is no airport (to my knowledge) in that area. It was just dusk and darkening into night, and the object seemed to get dimmer as I drove south, eventually fading out of sight, so I assume it was travelling in a southerly direction along the highway, perhaps a little faster than I was driving. A few minutes later, as I was passing a familiar farm site with house and grain elevator in the yard, a white/silver spherical object, about 9 inches in diameter, came down out of the night sky and rushed directly at my car.

Its path was over the hood and up the windshield, a few inches above the vehicle. I felt a rush of wind and heard a loud swooshing sound as it passed over. My reaction was to duck and swerve the car slightly to the left, but my reaction occurred after this quick event.

There was a bright, strobe-like flash as it reached the top of my windshield and flew up over my car. The flash enabled me to see several feet from the vehicle, over to a power pole in the ditch, and a power line extending over the highway from the pole, so the object had to go beneath this line. I tried to see it in my rear view mirror, but sited nothing, and sped on south to Kearney, NE.

I wondered about the incident on my way home, but was really too scared and confused to come to any conclusions, so I promptly forgot about it, until I saw my family at Christmas. We were telling stories, and I remembered my experience. I told my sister-in-law, but got frightened as I told her, and told her I thought it was an owl that swooped in front of my car.

This thing was not an owl. I can come up with nothing to explain the flash of light.

Spotted on West "O" Street and followed to NW 48th Street. Craft's Disappeared into the only cloud in the sky before cloud disappeared. Was In Dairy Queen drive through when the Craft's approached from Southeast Downtown Lincoln and were moving towards Northwest Lincoln.

The Craft's were traveling together but not in a uniform formation. They looked like button batteries, with small indented side up. There was no lights, no sound, and the Craft's were not shiny.

They were dull like cement. After following around 3 miles, pulled over, got out of car to watch. It was sunny out, and one lone cloud in the sky, which they were flying towards.

They flew into the cloud, but never came out from the other side. Then the cloud started evaporating. 2 Airforce Jets took off from their base a few miles away, and flew up where cloud used to be.

I thought for sure it would be on the news, radio, newspaper. Never heard anything. I thought it was funny no one else was stopping to look at this anomaly.

Started questioning myself and kids. But then there were the Jets. They had to have seen something also as they flew up right where the cloud had been.

I'm not sure about the date or year. It could have been 90-93. I know school had just started like a week before, which would be middle or late August.

It was fantastic. I've never seen anything like it since. I have seen lights, at night, way up in atmosphere which I thought were stars, but then they would move, slowly, but that's common.

I just want to know if anyone else has ever seen what I described.

Silver disk flies level across sky, at low altitude, before dusk. It was mid summer in the Early 90's and my father, brother and I were playing catch in our backyard in northwest Omaha. I was around 9 or 10 at the time.

We all spotted a silver disk flying very slowly to the north or northeast at a low altitude. It was still daylight out but it was nearing night time, and it was a perfectly clear summer day. We lived close to Interstate 680 and Fort street, and the disk appeared to be floating, maybe 2 to 3 miles beyond the interstate.

I did not see any lights on the craft, but my father thought he saw some. I simply remember the shape of the craft. It appeared to have a distinct upper section and a smaller lower section.

Depending on the distance, the craft did not look very large I would have to say it was no larger than 60 feet across and 15 to 20 feet top to bottom. The disk traveled perfectly level for a long time and made no sound whatsoever. It then began to speed up and it then passed beyond our vision after about 6 minutes.

I remember not knowing what the craft was but thinking it was unique and cool. I had spent much time at epply airfield because my dad worked there for a long time and I had not only flown on commercial airplanes but I had been near them and seen them close up on the ground many times. I have never in my 30 plus years seen anything fly where this disk flew.
