New Hampshire UFO Sightings in 2002

We had been sitting in our hot tub outside on our deck ,myself for 25 minutes, when We sighted a blueish white sphere in the, clear of clouds, southern sky at @730p very low on the horizon approximately the size of a tennis ball that suspended in one spot and then shot westward extremely fast leaving a bluish white trail. The sighting lasted 3-5 seconds. Just long enough for me to query "Did you see that?".

It apeared much like a falling star with an exagerated descent except for the closeness and the size of the object. We both had never seen anything like it and were looking for other places such as news programs to see if others had seen this as well.we both have had many years in aviation and sky watching.

This was a novel sighting for both of us. There were aircraft in the sky at this time as well in that we live close to MHT airport. We were hoping that maybe a pilot might have witnessed this.

Around 8:30 i noticed a ball of light moving diagnally and then hovering above the tree line It was 2002 i was 12 and i was with dad on the pourch. It was early in sept so it was still warm, i was talking with dad about possible life out there in the universe we both agreed there has to be,just as we finished talking about the subject there was this object/ufo that i noticed entered through the atmosphere and was moving very fast about 250 mph or less and i thought it was a comet or something but i was wrong it slowed down and made a 180 degree turn as it changed direction it slowed down very fast and now stopped or hovered above a tree i was about 30 or 20 yards from it and then there was this blinding light and i couldn't see alot and i felt paralyzed and helpless its hard to remember alot but i think there may have been a blue orb surrounding my body so i couldn't move. Like i said it was 8:30 i thought it only 5 or 10 min this event happend,as i began to move again i saw it leave and go straight up into the night sky.

As i walked inside i looked at the clock and it was 10 pm what i wonder is what happend from 8:30 to 10 i dont recall anything except what i told here. In total i have seen 3 ufos the second ufo was in a field i was on a bus and i looked out onto the field and i saw a hovering gold ufo it was orb shaped and then right infront of my eyes it dissapeared. The third i was at a store and it was cigar shaped and the clouds were 200 yards infront of it,it was moving very very slow and it had no wings or tail and it had a black front it was cigar shaped also,so i looked away and then looked back and it was gone.

Observed round red light crossing over highway - then hovering - changing shape - emitting small round blue lights My 16 yr old son and I were driving down Rt.93S in Derry, NH at 1:00AM and witnessed a red light quickly cross the sky in front of us at a distance of about 200 yards and roughly 100 feet off the ground. Seconds later the light crossed over us.

We both thought it was a police helicopter until we realized that it made no sound. To our surprise the light then appeared again to our rear and hovered just to the side of road. Slowing down to see what happened we observed the red light change shape several times - round to diamond to round to diamond to round.

Then two small round blue lights shot out of it and they all moved out of sight. We wondered if it might be some sort of govt./military stealth aircraft.

Aircraft that sounds like a rocket launch? I wanted to report an interesting occurance over my house earlier this month. Before I do, you should know that I am a student pilot, an avid aircraft buff, and have been in/around aircraft all my life. I know the subject pretty well.

I live in Derry New Hampshire, which is not far from the Massachusettes border. On the morning of August 4th, I was still online at 1:00 am. It was a very clear night.

I began to hear a rumbling sound which very quickly graduated to a loud roaring sound, rattling the windows. I sprinted outside to have a look. Traveling east to west, high overhead, was a single bright white light.

I would guess its altitude to have been at least thirty thousand feet, if not more. I could discern no standard aviation lighting, but that's not unusual given the height. What was amazing was the roar! I recently moved back here from Florida's Brevard County, where the sound of rocket launches was somewhat routine.

If I had seen this in Florida, I would have thought they were launching a rocket in the wrong direction. As I said, the sound of this aircraft was so loud it rattled the windows, and sounded EXACTLY like a rocket launch. There was no sound of turbines at all.

This sounded extremely powerful. My first impression was that I was looking at a missle coming in from the Atlantic somewhere. The hair stood up on my arms and for a moment I thought.

"uh oh". All I can say was that this was no normal aircraft, if that's what it was. I do not believe this was a fighter jet with afterburners on.

It was not traveling especially fast, and continued at the same speed throughout its trajectory. I would like to know if anyone else in the area heard this that night. It was traveling roughly over the Mass/NH border.

The sound actually awoke others in my household, which has never happened before. Thanks for your time, Greg.

Flashy stars in ALMOST a triangular pattern. It's 10:20pm right now and I saw this 15 minutes ago. I live in Loudon NH right off of Route 106.

I saw a group of flashing lights just now, hovering over our house on top of the hill. (We have a great view of the nightsky without any reflective light to keep out the stars) I saw it coming lazily from the west and it just headed NNE from there. I don't know if anyone else saw this.

Nothing to indicate an engine so it wasn't a plane. It was totally silent. And it was almost a bunch of stars flashing.

I have no clue what it was. and then it just dissappeared. Gone.

Am I losing my mind?? I swear on my Grandpa's grave on what I saw, and quite frankly, I'm a bit weirded out right now.

Life changing, amazing, frightening, best experience of my life. It was about 2 AM around the fourth of July of 2002. I was outside on a hill with two other friends of mine.

We were all just relaxing and looking at the stars when all of the sudden a fairly large bright star looking object that was above us for sometime started to move. It went unnoticed before because when it was still it looked like just another star in the sky. When the object started to move it was CLEARLY not an airplane or a satelitte.

It started off moving a signifigant distance acorss the sky, from a our view of the sky I would say a few feet, which I'm sure in terms of space is millions of miles. After doing that a few times it came to a stand still. When it was at this stand still, I'm sure that it was directly above us, and when i say directly I mean as in if they dropped a pin it would have hit us.

After repeating this process a few times, it went it to a frenzy of figure 8's. When the figure 8's occured we all noticed three other birght "star figures" which in turn were UFO's as well. They did not do as much moving as the one above us did.

It seemed as though the one above myself and my compainions was the leader and the other three were followers. After doing the figure 8's and unexplainable patterns for about 10-30 min, it stoped abruptly. Right as it stopped, a car drove by us, this was probablly about 3:30 AM in a suburban area, thats not very typical for our neighborhood.

The creepy thing about the car was that it stared directly at us when it drove by, which at 3 in the morning, and in very dark night on a hill, is strange. They should not have known we were up there because we made no noise and blended in with the hill. After the car drove by we became very frightened and ran back to my friends house.

i saw an event in the sky in which a strange self fueled looking fireball moved around and was accompanied by two bright dots. I am adding this report to an unsolved report that occurred in 2002 (this is my best description after 14 years).I was traveling east on route 25 in Moultonboro, NH, when a large orange/yellow fireball looking object appeared in the sky almost directly above the highway in the vicinity of Moultonboro Airport.

The fireball moved in every direction. To the right, left, and up and down in which a contrail of fire or plasma followed it. It didn't move very fast.

everytime it changed direction, it seemed to have its own power source in which it flared up on its own. It did this for at least 5 to 10 minutes. It remained still for a short period of time until two small dots came out from behind the fireball, each one on opposite sides, and they floated around.

after that i was puzzled and left.about one week later, i saw the same orange ball sitting on the horizon further east somewhere above the state line of Maine in which route 25 continues into. The only other witness to this second event, was a friend of mine who also saw the object on the horizon that same week.

Strange speeding objects emitting fireballs and smaller aircraft reported in Moultonborough New Hampshire. At the time of the occurrence, it was 9:20 pm and was still fairly light out. as i neared the intersection of route 109 and 25 in Moultonborough New Hampshire, something very bright like a fireball caught the top corner of my eye over a large field with mountains in the distance.

i pulled over at the intersection and got out of my car and looked up at the sky and didnt see anything and thought that maybe it was a reflection. with the thought of it still in my head i was driving east down route 25 looking up at the sky and then i saw the fireball flash again. i immediately pulled over and got out of my car and watched where it went.

the object then reversed it's direction and went the other way. just as i noticed the object reverse direction, another object identical to the first at a very fast speed came from behind the trees and went the opposite direction the other object was going. I then observed that each of the objects were circling each other.

After standing around for about 2 minutes both objects took a complete 90 degree turn and were bombing toward each other at very high speeds. at the moment they were closest to each other, one of the objects blew up into a huge fireball and and kept on going. That object then turned around and started the same routine with circling the other object.

Like the first time, they bombed toward each other and at the closest point, one of the objects blew up into a fireball but this time emitting two(2) smaller aircrafts much smaller than that of the other ones. The object that emitted the two smaller aircrafts suddenly dissapeared. At this point, i knew this was unusual activity and that this was no military practice.

It looked as if there was a war going on between the aircrafts. These aircrafts were noticeable as they contained constant flashing white lights. After seeing this activity, i quickly sped off toward home.

before i got to where i live i saw 2 other cars stopped on the other side of the road watching and pointing at the weird activity in the sky. ! i stoppe d breifly and was glad to see that the other people in the cars were seeing what i was seeing. I got home and called the Moultonborough Police Department and was informed that hundreds of other people called in to report that they too had also witnessed the strage activity in the sky.

Individual spherical yellow "Orbs", Linked movemnet of "Orbs", "Orbs" emitting other "Orbs" It is with great excitement and aw that I will attempt to the best of my recollection to re-cap the events that took place and were witnessed by my wife and I on Tuesday, June 18, 2002, from approximately 9:25-9:40 pm. Location: Gilford, NH, west-shoreline of Lake Winnipesaukee. We were viewing the last beautiful moments of light looking across the lake when my wife exclaimed, “Look at that!” Looking to where she was pointing a glowing yellow light was visible.

It appeared somewhat stationary, though slight movement to the right and to the left was occurring. The underside of the cloud that the light was in front of appeared illuminated within close proximity to the emitting source. It lasted for about 2-3 seconds and then disappeared.

I kept waiting for it to emerge from the cloud but to no avail it did not. It was about the size of golf ball, relative to a softball sized Moon. We next witnessed the "Orb", for lack of a better word, in front of the next cloud over to the right, which was fairly close to the first yet separated by a light bluish, slight turquoise hewed darkening sky.

I never saw a shape depart the first cloud to get in front of the second. The sight was more or less the same, a glowing yellowish Orb that lasted for about 2-3 seconds. We witnessed this again slightly to the left of the first sighting.

It was then that the first of several "Linked Orb Movements" appeared. The light was ON and then OFF and when it came back on it had moved approximately 10 times the width of the object to another position. In a skipping fashion we watched the Orb turn OFF&ON each time moving a segment of length across the sky.

We now refer to this type of sighting as a "Link", representing the skipping movement that appeared to be in a set of connected links. We most definitely now felt that we were being treated to a spectacular visual occurrence. From the nearby Laconia airport we heard an airplane approaching.

It was "healthy" to hear this plane because we then knew that what we were witnessing was indeed noiseless and NOT A PLANE. The propeller driven small plane, clearly visible in the sky was climbing, having just taken off. Upon approaching the spot of the second Orb sighting in front of the cloud, another "Orb" illumination flashed just below and to the left of the small plane.

This Orb was slightly larger than the others and appeared to be almost doubled, as if two of these Orbs were present with one being slightly behind the other. The lake area was absolutely noiseless with the exception of the sound of the propeller from the plane. We were both startled that there was not a collision.

It was very close. Afterwards we saw one of the Orbs in a stationary position and then it simultaneously emitted in perfect-arced unison, four distinct other Orbs. At no point was there a trail of smoke or cloud associated with any of these sightings.

The intensity of the light was constant and the arc formed one quarter of a circle. There was not a trail of light from any other place other than from the Orbs. Once again all was noiseless.

All of the Orbs had the same yellowish hue. We witnessed two more of these types of occurrences as well as two or three more of the skipping"Links", one of which made seven distinct links across the sky, and appeared to be moving towards the South West, across the lake. Lastly we saw to our left (looking westward) two single sightings as well as the last of the emitting type, of which two Orbs were emitted, once again simultaneously.

With that the event was over. At about this time a boat was traveling up the lake and once again it was "healthy"; to here a sound. It was loud, certainly identifiable and indeed affirmed that WHAT WE WITNISSED TRULY MADE NO SOUND.

We remained at the lake for another 15-20 minutes with the hopes of seeing something else. We did not. Sound travels well over the relative flat surface of the lake.

Given the size of the objects that we saw the biggest mystery to us other than their incredible movement has to be the complete silence that was associated with all visual sightings. These without doubt were not flares, helicopters or jet planes. I am a licensed private pilot, completing a B.

I believe it was the Air National Guard preparing for deployment. I recently read a letter to the editor form Director Peter B. Davenport of the National UFO Reporting Center regarding some unusual events on 6/18/02.

I witnessed the "unusual" event at 9:15 on my way home from work. (I am a police officer) I watched as an aircraft dropped flares approximately every 2-4 seconds. The aircraft was approximately 1,500 to 2,000 feet above ground level.

I could only see the marker ligts of the aircraft initially. I watched this activity from my back deck for a few minutes. I did not think much of it because I routinely observe military aircraft of various types training in and just south of the Sandwich Range (the southern most range of NH's White Mountain National Forest).

A few minutes later, I recognized a UH-60 helicopter briefly touch down at the Moultonborough Airport (I live next to the air strip). Every so often, citizens of my community become alarmed when military aircraft stray a little south of the Sandwich Range. Observed jet fighters discharging flares over the White Mountain area of NH I am a police dispatcher in the Lakes Region of NH. I am also an avid night sky watcher, but I do not profess to have a great knowledge of the constellations. On 6/18/01, Tuesday, at between 2045-2115 hours, I was sitting in the parking lot of the local Burger King, which overlooks the lake.

This location looks west and north. I first noticed the lights in the cloud cover that appeared to be fireworks, but realized it was too high in sky. The location of the lights were in the North and appeared to over the White Mountain area, possibly the Sandwich, NH, area.

After a short while, I used my binoculars to watch, and could clearly see white strobe lights of aircraft. I realized then it was jet fighters who have often practiced over the White Mountain area. As seen on tv shows, they were clearly dogfighting or doing practice bombing or straffing runs and dropping the the "chaff" or flares, to practice avoiding anti-aircraft fire.

The show lasted about one half hour and they left and flew to the west. I believe there are F-16 fighter places in Vermont with the Air National Guard, and have seen A-10's many, many times in the Sandwich, NH, area. There were several flights coming and going from Laconia Airport, at which time NO planes were aluminated by any strange lights.

This was clearly and without question a training flight of some sort and nothing at unusal happened. PS. when the flares were released, they appeared to be in a counter-clockwise direction, forming an arc and always being about 6 in number.

Update to UFO sighting in Plymouth NH From wife: At roughly 9 pm my husband and I were driving east on rte 25 (tenney mtn highway). I saw a cloud light up (bright orange? color almost like the sun) I asked my husband "did you see that?" then proceeded to pull over to look at the cloud. After pulling over the cloud lit up 4 or 5 more times.

Not as bright as the initial light that I saw. I could see what appeared to be a "jet?" circling the area that lit up. After a few minutes with no more lights I saw the "jet" head east out of the cloud.

We drove home and within 10 minutes there were fighter jets overhead flying around. The jets continued to fly for roughly an hour and 15 minutes then I no longer heard them. >From husband: My wife asked me did you see that??? I looked up as she was pulling over and I saw what I thought were flares being dropped from a plane but soon realised they wern't flares they were ball shaped lights.

yellowish/white that appeared out of nowhere and dropped behind a cloud and dissappeared. 2 fell behind the cloud and dissappeared a third came from out of the cloud and shot upwards into the cloud from low left to high right again going behind the cloud and not reappearing.Another 2 appeared above the cloud and dropped into the cloud and dissappeared.

This took approximately 1 minute for all of it to happen.Then the entire cloud lit up and my wife told me it wasn't as bright as the one she had seen then a few minutes later the cloud lit up again. That part of the event was over and then I witnessed the flashing lights of an airplane fly off in an easterly direction.

After arriving home we noticed jets flying up and down the valley at a fairly high altitude tandom formation back and forth up and down the valley for approximately an hour. Fireball in the sky behind the clouds???? Apparently the fighter jets saw it too????? My husband and I were on our way home and I saw a BRIGHT light looked kind of like a fireball behind a cloud. I pulled over and told my husband to look. We then saw "it" light up another 5 to 6 times.

There was what appeared to be a small jet circling the light.My husband describes it as a huge flare behind the clouds.The light went away and the plane continued to circle where we had seen the light.

We got home and within 10 minutes there were fighter jets flying around. Its now an hour and 20 minutes later and I can still hear the jets every few minutes going overhead. ((NUFORC Note: A description of this event can be found on the NUFORC homepage.

We do not know what these witnesses, and others, observed that night, but the objects may have been flares released from military jet fighters. However, all the witnesses, when queried about this possibility, insisted that the lights were not flares, that they maneuvered relative to one another, and moved across the sky in a fashion that seemed not compatible with drifting flares.

We KNOW what we saw was NOT military.

Absolutely NO WAY! I believe the follow up reports you received were bogus.I think they were reported to get us to change our mind. Please if you can keep me informed on the sighting here.

Lights in sky in New Hampshire, Tuesday, June 18, 2002 a military training exercise. I am a police officer in the town of Moultonboro. On Tuesday evening I received a message from my dispatcher advising me that a subject in Gilford, NH observed flares shooting in the sky in the area of Red Hill, a small mountain in Moultonboro.

I and the other officers on duty set up strategic observation points and observed no such flares or lights. About 30 minutes later I was near the Moultonboro Airport, a small private unattended airport, and observed a military turbine helicopter (I was unable to determine the type because it was dark but, from my experience, it appeared to be a Blackhawk.) make an approach to the airport, land and then take off.

This is not unusual as I have observed military helicopters making practice approaches to the unattended air strip in Moultonboro in the past. Shortly thereafter, I observed what was clearly a military aircraft flying in an area north of Moultonboro, most likely over the town of Tamworth or Sandwich, dropping flares. My dispatcher radioed me and advised me of a resident in Tamworth observing a military aircraft dropping flares.

I am also a pilot and have flown in this area extensively over the past 17 years. The geographic location of Moultonboro is at the north end of Lake Winnipesaukee and at the southern edge of the Yankee One and Yankee Two MOAs. These two military operations areas encompass most of the White Mountain National Forest.

We live and work just south of the White Mountains. (A New York VFR sectional map clearly shows these two MOAs.) I have observed dozens of military operations in this area over the 25 years we have lived here, especially at night.

I have also contracted through the Carroll County Sheriff's Department to fly drug interdiction for the Nat. Forest Service and have flown all over the White Mountains and, while doing so, have observed Military jets flying operations at tree top level in this area. I have also been involved in the investigation of a military jet crash about 14 years ago that was participating in a training exercise in this area.

The Yankee 1 & 2 MOAs are primarily used by reservists flying out of Otis AFB on Cape Cod, the Air National Guard out of Concord, NH and I also believe aircraft from the Brunswick Naval Air Station in Brunswick, ME. It was also used for a training area for aircraft out of Pease AFB before its closure several years ago. All the lights and flares I observed Tuesday night definitely came from military aircraft.

I am certain that anyone else who observed these lights were watching the same aircraft I was. What puzzles me, was the number of calls that were received regarding these observations. This type of military operations in our area is not that uncommon.

Granted, most military operations take place farther north, deeper into the White Mountains which is virtually unpopulated. However, this is certainly not the first time I have observed military aircraft engaged in training in our area. This is especially common at night.

In response to your comment regarding dropping flares over forested land, the dozen or so flares I observed being dropped from aircraft Tuesday night burned out long before reaching the ground. I hope this answers some questions and clears up some of the mystery of this event. Based on the information available to us currently, we believe that the most likely explanation for the event is flares launched by military jet fighters. However, this explanation does not appear to explain away all aspects of the event that have been reported to our Center. We are uncertain as to what caused the event.

I must be goin crazy but i wasnt someone else saw it too. Me and my cousin were walking down the hill near our houses on a dirt road, now i like to look at the sky when there is not a cloud in it. I look up and i see five stars in a hatchet shape like this.

* * * * * Well i had never seen any constalation like that before. I said "dude look at the stars over there, dont that look weird." And i showed him where they were.

He says to me " yeah so there stars, and your piont." Well as we were walking i just kept staring at them then just as i was going to look away they started to move, slow at first but then faster, alot faster then a satilight which is what i thought it was but for 1 they dont bunch up like that, and 2 they dont go that fast. I stoped dead in my tracks and said "DUDE LOOK, DO YOU SEE THEM?" he looked up and saw the same thing i did( I had him explain what he saw just in case I or he would think i was crazy).

It was the weirdest thing iv ever seen. Well he did not care at all what was happening so he said "lets go" we were on our way to a friends house like 500 hundred feet away from where we saw it.as we got on to the porch i thought i would look again.

well i found where they were all right back the way they were. But i! saw them split up and go the oppasite direction from each other. This is no lie I would steak my life on it.

white sphere over Manchester,NH. Minute duration I was sitting on my back porch having a cigarette last night and saw something I thought was a little strange. I live in Manchester,NH which has an airport and I have seen many airplanes, but this was different.

I happened to look up and I saw a sphere, definitely at a high altitude moving across the sky. I have seen planes at this high altitude, but am able to see their flashing lights. This was just a white sphere.

The light from it seemed to dim and grow at certain points, but it could have been cloud cover, I am not sure. However, This craft had no visible blinking lights, which I thought was strange. It was moving at a good speed over the middle of the city heading in a south east direction.

Video taped sighting over the ocean in Pourtsmouth New Hampshire My girlfriend and I where staying in a motel in Portsmouth NH and at 10:30pm we decided to take a ride to the coast and do some sky wathcing. After about 45 minutes of watching airplanes and stars, it was a very clear night, we noticed a light in the sky above and to the south of a car that was at the other end of the parking area. It was very low in the horizon and apeared odd because it was yellowish in color and had no strobe lights.

We watched it for about five minutes and it just remained motionless. I got out my video camera and tried to get it to focus on the object and it began registering. After a minute or two of trying to get it to focus the car at the other end of the parking lots lights came on and I video taped a very good point of view of what looked like and at what altitude it was.

After about a minute the cars lights went off and the camera couldn't focus on the image so I walked down to the car. The gentelman that owned the car came walking down from the coastal wall and I asked him if he knew what that was thinking that perhaps they to where also star wathching. He did not know what it was and when I told him I had been watching it for over ten minutes he said that seemed very odd and began whathing the object with me.

I once agin tried to get the object to focus in my video camera and succeeded in zooming to around 45x and taping the object for over five minutes. In this time it became very bright, changing colors from a yellowish white to red and shades of green and at one point seems to apear as two lights. It then faded so low that I could no longer tape it so I began looking for it.

It now was blinking with small soft white and red lights and almost looked like an airplane. The gentelman that was watching it with me had gone to take pictures and came running back and asked if I noticed that it was now blinking and moving. He also said " what a good way to desguise your self".

the object then slowly moved towards the shore slowly and then stoped moving and blinking and got very ! bright a gain. I again tried to zoom in on it and got the camera to focus and then hit record. As I whatced it through my viewfinder I now saw two lights and it seemed to be moving away from me, south, now.

I then noticed a third light and the object now took the shape of a triangle and seemed to be banking. It then faded out agin. I looked at it and it began blinking again and had changed it's direction and was now traveling north and slowly kept droping, like it was making a stair patern, untill it got so low you could no longer see it.

I went back to my car and watched the tape. When I came to the point that I had recorded all three lights on the object something must have malfuntioned on my camera and nothing had recorded from that point. I was pretty bumend out because this was the best part of the video and as we sat wondering what went wrong the object appeard again in the same spot it origonally started at, altough it was now lower int the horizon.

I began taping as it slowly moved away from us twoards the south and the ocean. I have video of it once again just hovering in the horizon. It got very dim and then slowly moved strait down twoards the horizon and disapeard.

After about thirty seconds it lit up again, still on the horizon, and then began to rise. It once agin hoverd. Then a second and third object apeard.

They all hoverd for a moment and twinkled brightly changing color from yellowish-white to red and then all slowly lowered down and disapeared when they hit the horizon again. After trying to get my camera to focus on the light show for a few minutes with little sucess other then a few frames that show the lights hovering in the horizon we decided to drive down the coast to see if we could get a better look. we traveled a couple miles down the coast and could no longer see the objects so we turned around and traveled back.

We came to another parking area and pulled in and there was now one single light hovering in the same spot. It once agin droped to the horizon and disapeared and then reapear! ed and r ose once agin untill finally dispearing at around 12:30. We waited a few minutes and finially went back to the room.

I will submit portions of the video along with stills to this sight. ((NUFORC Note: We spoke with this witness over the telephone, and he identified himself as a UFO investigator and an "experiencer," as well as an author in those fields. NUFORC explored the possibility that he might have been witnessing celestial bodies, possibly "twinkling" stars, but he assured us that that was not the case.

AT 2330 HRS ON MAY 22-2002 MY WIFE AN I WERE TRAVELING NORTHBOUND ON I-95 ABOUT 5 MILES EAST OF INDIAN SPRINGS AIR FORCE STATION.I GLANCED TO MY RIGHT AND NOTICED A BRIGHT ORANGE LIGHT HOVERING ABOUT 2 MILES AWAY AT ABOUT 800 FT ABOVE GRD LEVEL.WE CONTINUED TO HEAD NORTH ON THE HIGHWAY OBSERVING THE CRAFT MOVE SLOWLY ABOVE A MOUNTAIN RANGE AND DISAPPEAR FOR A MOMENT.

IT SEEM TO LIGHT UP A VERY LARGE AREA OF THE MOUNTAIN RANGE AS IT PASSED OVER.IT WAS ABOUT THE SIZE OF A PING PONG BALL FROM MY PERPECTIVE.AS WE CONTIMUED NORTH TRYING TO TRACK IT WE CAUGHT UP WITH IT AN SAW IT HOVERING NOW BETWENN TWO MOUNTAIN RANGES.

WE STOPPED OUR CAR AND OBSERVED IT START TO MOVE VERY SLOWLY WEST THEN BACK EAST A FEW TIMES.IT STARED TO MOVE STRAIGHT UP AN AS IT DID THE LIGHT JUST WENT OUT SLOWLY AND THEN IT WAS GONE.

Circular craft with rotating pulsating lights on the sides only It seemed to be a circular disk that had pulsating lights on both sides that definately seemed to alternate sides and make a circular motion, however there were no lights in the front or back (the direction it was traveling and behind it). It traveled a large distance in 3-4 seconds, which is the entire duration of what I saw and traveled the distance of maybe 30 full moons. It traveled in a straight line and seemed to vanish.

I pointed it out to my wife as soon as I saw it and she saw it also and confirmed there were pulsating lights. At first I thought it was a meteor grazing the atmosphere, but when my wife said she saw the pulsating lights I had to keep an open mind. I definately don't know what it was, but it seemed to be a craft, not a metoer.

Any other sightings in the New England area tonight?.

Circular pulsating lights on sides of large, silent, disk shaped object I sent this last night, but I got a "Server not responding error", Sorry if you get this twice. I was on my deck with my wife around 10:30pm last night and we were looking up at the stars, the little dipper in particular. We were about to head back inside, when I saw something.

It was what seemed to be circular or disk shaped and had yellowish/orange lights that pulsated in a circular motion around the object. However these lights were only on the sides of the object, not the front or back (not on the sides that were in front of or behind the direction the object was travelling). There were about four or five "panels of individual light" on each side and went like I said in a clockwise direction around the object, with only one panel lit at one time.

The object was about the size of two full moons when the moon is high in the sky, and travelled about the distance of 30 full moons in 3-4 seconds. It made no sound at all and almost appeared transluscent, the lights were the only things I saw. There were no clouds at all in the area.

As soon as I noticed it, I pointed it out to my wife, who saw it immediately due to it's size. She confirmed the lights were pulsating. The object seemed to vanish into thin air, I had an unobstructed view in the direction it was travelling when it disappeared.

I am also very close (within 4 miles) to a small airport and the FAA tracking center for the East Coast.
