Dancing Lights. My husband and I were vacationing in Missouri for Christmas. Driving back on highway 17 from Houston to Roby at around midnight on the 27th, we observed 2 circular shaped objects playing in the sky.

The lights were rapidly flashing red and both the objects were alternating positions back and forth, moving very fast, sort of circling around each other. We watched them for about 10 minutes before they disappeared into thin air. ((NUFORC Note: We express our gratitude to Barb Becker and Brian Adams, Missouri UFO Group investigator , for following up on this report.

Interviewed NUFORC case witness by UFOMIG.com investigator Brian Adams for Missouri sighting on Dec. 27, 2002 near Roby, MO.

Witness name responds> Since there are many questions, I will answer them in Q/A format one at a time to the best of my memory, for less confusion. What first made you aware of the object(s) when you were traveling? Since we live in a big city here, I'm absolutely facinated by the dark country skies to which every star in the sky can be seen, so as usual I was looking up at the stars through the front windshield and passenger window while my husband was driving. I immediately became aware when I saw the red flashing lights out of the corner of my eye.

You know those Christmas lights they call "chasers" that you can set the speed of the flashing by a remote near the plug-in? That's what these lights looked like, very fast and rotating around the the circular perimeter, it was hard to miss. With my mouth wide open in complete awe, I grabbed my husbands arm and said "LOOK at that!" What direction in the sky were they sighted? We were traveling North, and the lights were moving from east to west. Did you use any binoculars or use eyeglasses to view them? No sir, I don't wear glasses and we didn't have any binoculars unfortunately.

How were the lights strobing like quick short flashes, random around the circular perimeter? They were flashing rapidly (red)in a rotating fashion (like the lights were chasing each other) around the circular perimeter. I'm not sure if my eyes weren't just getting blurry from staring so long at these things, but I thought I might have seen them change colors once or twice, to the color of white, very quickly as well. Did you stop and get out of your vehicle to watch at all? Unfortunately no.

I wanted to but there were 16 inches of snow on the ground (there were no place to pull over because of the snow drifts from the plows)and it was 9 degrees out that night, and we were late getting to our next destination. We just drove very slowly observing them from the windshield of our mini-van. Have you seen any ufos before this sighting? Yes, but these two were very different from the other time.

The first time was about 1993 in Kokomo, IN. My mother and I were getting some groceries out of the trunk of her car (sometime around 9PM I suppose, it was over 10 years ago) when a triangular object with 3 big red lights on each point of the triangle (the lights weren't flashing) passed low in the sky right over our heads. It was about the size of a football field and moved silently.

It was made out of some kind of black metal and had some kind of groovy patterns on the underside. It flew just above the trees and was so low that we could see these patterns. I don't remember much about being 15, but I'll never forget that.

It was my curiousity in researching if anyone else had any similar experiences with both of these types of craft that led me to your website. Did you tell anybody you visited about the sighting? No. We were travelling with our roomate and her 5yr old son at the time to visit my husbands grandmother.

My roomate and her son were asleep in the backseat of the van, and I didn't want to scare them. Did they tell you if they have seen or heard about any ufos in their area in the past several years? My husband's grandfather used to watch them from the front porch of the same house we were staying at when my husband was about 10yrs old (he's 24 now). Oddly, every Tuesday or Wednesday (it was one day a week at relatively the same time at night, around 9PM) it would appear in the same place in the sky.

The front door of the house faces to the east and the craft could be seen from just above the trees. He passed away in 1995, and has been known to watch this thing once a week for years while he was alive. I heard this directly from my husband.

Are you or your husband from Missouri? I'm originally from Indiana, and my husband and I live in Virginia Beach due to him being stationed here in the Navy. He's from Nebraska. My husbands family is from Missouri though, and his grandmother still lives there, whom we were staying with for the holidays.

One more thing to add. They were stationary when I first noticed them, then they began circling around each other very rapidly while moving from east to west and west to east again across the sky.sort of like they were playing or dancing.

There were no other aircraft in the sky, and it was around midnight at the time. There were no other cars on the road at the time either. We watched them for approx.

10 minutes, then they began to dim, or maybe get farther up into the sky so that they appeared to be dimmer I'm not sure, but then they just vanished. I would like to thank you for sharing your similar story with me. I'm glad there is someone out there who saw the same thing and I know Im not crazy now.

I've never shared either of these experiences with anyone else, besides my mother and my husband out of fear that they would think I'd lost it. But I know in my heart these were not aircraft I was seeing, planes and jets just don't move like that. It helps to know that people like you are out there investigating, and bringing some comfort to those like me, in knowing we are not alone.

There IS something going on out there. Take care, name withheld ((NUFORC Note: We express our sincere gratitude to the MISSOURI INVESTIGATORS GROUP, and to its Director, BARBARA BECKER, and to Brian Adams, for their having shared this report with our Center. If you have had a sighting in Missouri, please consider contacting that organization, at the website above, to share your sighting with their investigators, in addition to submitting a report to NUFORC.

Thank you!! PD)).

L-shaped and light-colored object(s) moving generally from NW to SE late at night. This object(s) moved across the clear night sky on a line from the Constellation Cassiopedia to the Constellation Orion. It had no lights but was apparently light colored and reflecting lights from the city.

As best as I could tell it was L-shaped with the long arm parallel to the direction of motion. It also seemed to have a second short arm a short distance behind the leading short arm. It may have been a flock of light-colored birds but it seemed very rigid (no individual motion), rapid, and not a V-shape as I usually see during the day.

I think it was silent but couldn't tell as a very busy street is only several houses away. It happened directly above my house.

((NUFORC Note: We do not know what the witnesses were looking at, but we do observe that the star, Sirius, which causes many long-term sightings, would be in the southwest sky at the time indicated, and that it would appear on subsequent days. However, if the object moved, as reported below, the object could not have been a star, of course. PD)) Large Glowing Orange Ball & Meteor Shower First let me say that I would have bet my life on the fact that I would never be reporting a sighting or anything resembling a UFO.

It's taken me 4 days to get enough courage to even begin to explain what all I saw in the early morning hours of Nov. 19, 2002, approx 13 miles Southeast of Stover, Mo. First let me say that on this date, it is also Deer hunting season in Mo.

At approx 1:30 AM my neighbor & I set out for a neighboring field where we usually hunt. We had left early so we could have a good view of the Leonid Meteor Shower and not have to venture far afterwards for hunting. We parked my truck at the west end of the field facing West as we were trying to get the light of the full moon behind us as the "showers" were to be best viewed from the East.

We got in the bed of the truck with heavy sleeping bags that would hopefully keep us warm as I wanted the best view possible and boy did I get it. The beginning of the unusual sightings were not that impressive but changed quickly so now I'll try & explain what I saw. At approx 3:00-3:30 we saw what we first thought to be a plane rise from the tree tops on the west side of the field,(It had a milkly like appearance & was kind of pear shaped with what looked like 2 legs at the bottom) but there was no sound.

This was approx 150-200 yds away. We both looked at each other like what is that!! It hovered there for about 30 seconds and then slowly rose straight up & very slowly headed South until out of site. Then every once in awhile you could see faint white objects resembling kind of the same shape just going back & forth accross the sky at different speeds & with no set pattern.

At approx 4:15 at the southeast end of the field at ground level I saw what looked like a porch light or headlights through the trees. This area is completely wooded with no homes or buildings nearby. In maybe a 5 min span it flickered on & off 4-5 times then this HUGE GLOWING ORANGE BALL rose right out of the trees & stayed right at the tree tops swaying just a little back & ! forth an d never any sound at all.

I wish I could accurately tell you how big it was but all I can save was it was unbelievable. I looked back over my shoulder once at the moon and this ball appeared to be maybe 1/3 the size BUT the Moon was a long way off and this ball was only about 800 yds away. Anyway this stayed in same position for about 10 minutes then rose up slowly about 80-100 ft or so & then just changed to a BRIGHT WHITE still in a ball shape.

During the next 30 min it rose maybe 30-40 feet & then gradually changed its shape into kind of a rounded triangle or pear shaped with a pulsating light (only visible at times)from what looked to be a small protruding area on the center bottom. At 3 different times when this light would come on & back off it would then make the easterly sky appear as if daylight was approaching but just lasting a few seconds. The figure gradually rose straight up with a Very slight drift to the Southeast.

This was a very bright & clear night and at 7:15 AM you could still see the object high in the sky but appeared to be a ball shape again. Also at about the same time the ball turned from orange to white a jet appeared from the west flying fairly low & at slower than normal speed, and what I thought to be an irregular pattern of the normal blinking lights that planes have when flying. Then it appeared to be stationary for 2-3 seconds & then at a high rate of speed it shot straight up & then immediately veered right & headed down directly towards the ball & then flew right around the back of it.

Then went back east with a jet stream behind it as if nothing was unusual but within 5 minutes there was 5 or 6 jets in the air but none went as close as the first one had. They all had jet streams behind them & just kept flying randomly overhead until the object was just barely visible. The following morning at about daybreak 2 neighbors went within a mile of there & said they just saw a solid looking white ball fairly high in the sky.

UPDATE: 11/24/02 I finally got up enough nerve to go back to the same spot to see if I might be to see this again & maybe take a few pictures. At 4:35 I saw the orange ball again & it appeared to be low but at a much farther distance. It immediately started rising up & went white & within 30 minutes or so it was so far up it almost looked like a bright star but was much bolder & solid looking than a star.

It almost looked like it changed shape & also appeared to get brighter at times, but it was to far away to be certain of this. I took 4 pictures with my old 35 mm but as far away as it was I doubt if it shows much as it was hard to even detect it thru the lens. I'm sure this all sounds very weird but I give you my word this is the Gods truth.

I was absolutely scared to death when the jet headed towards the ball as I had no idea what was going to happen. I'm hoping someone else spotted the same objects that I did!!!.

this object was ascending once i got fully focus on it. this was a clear sunny day with some clouds. i watched this thing actully disappear into a clear sky.

further up was a commerical plane at a very high altitude with a smoke trail flying southwest across the sky. i really don't know what i saw. but i found it to be strange that 15min after i saw military frighters flying around and landing (which is normal because of Boeing).

What appeared to be a stealth bomber allowed stars to shine through. My wife and I were sitting on our porch smoking when this enormous shape passed overhead. It occupied perhaps a 45 degree section of the sky giving the impression is not far above the tree tops.

It's shape was very similar to the steal bomber, and living not terribly far from Whiteman airforce base I assumed that it was. Even the fact that we could hear no sound from it did not dissuade me from that thought. It wasn't until it passed between us and a bright star that I was in doubt.

The star could be seen through the object. It moved very slowly across the sky and I had the opportunity to see it pass across several stars which showed through the body of the object. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting event is approximate.

UFO? spoted chasing cattle Last year around October my girl friend and I were fighting petty bad. We had just got to her place and instead of swallowing my pride and haveing her take me back home, I decided to walk. My home was about 12 miles away, it was a dark over-cast night with the moon breaking out now and again.

I knew the gravel road very well from my childhood days of walking to town to go to a friends house, so it wasn't a big deal. Anyways, about 3 miles out I came to this, not sure how to describe it, Double 90-degree corner in the road. As soon as I came around the first 90 I herd a rummble, turned to look and saw a soft white light.

At first I thought nothing of it. I just assumed it was my girl friend giveing in and searching for me along the county road. I didnt feel like being found so I hopped over the Barb wired fence and into the Cattle pasture.

I knew there to be cattle in the field but, being around cattle all my life, had'nt gave it any thought. I stayed focused on the oncomeing light so I could try and tell what sort of head lights they were and so know if it was her. But the light dimmed.

The rummble grew louder. I followed the sound and as it crossed a small stream in the pasture and saw a flash of light, as if the moon light had struck a smooth metalic surface of something flying not over 5 feet above the ground and only 30 yrds from me. It could'nt have been doing over 10 mph which ruled out an Air plane.

So I'm thinking a Wisper, a common sight that the people of the area has seen often enough to give it a name. I get into the reason for the name in a second. Anyways, I watch the triangular object slowly fly away down the pasture when I notice the rummble still grows louder.

So I turn just in time to see 50 head of cattle stampeding directly for me. Now if you have grown up around cattle you have seen cows run. I have chased cattle on a Four wheeler.

They will run but it isnt like there in a big hurry to get anywhere. These cattle were running for their life. They ran strait for me, ! stoped, ran away from me, stoped turned and ran right through the fence.

So naturally, I jumped the fence and got as far away from them as I could. Not a quarter of a mile on down the road I caught sight of the object again. This time it turned, gained some altitude and flew over me several times.

The whole time fading in and out as the moon broke and the low cloud cover. The wind would pick up right as it would pass overhead and die as it went. It made a sound, not sure how to describe it other than radar.

as if you could hear the sound a Bat emmitts to capture a bug. Another way would be to say it sounded like squeaky breaks on a car at the level of a whisper. It wasnt a plane.

was flying to slow. Unless they have recently created a helicopter that could just barely seat one person but other wise incapable of lifting him off the ground due to its size and is almost totaly silent.it could'nt have been a Helicopter.

Could you maybe give me some info on what this could have been? I have played it over and again in my mind for a year now and I am stumped. Please feel free to contact me by email. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.

We have no idea what the object was, but it sounds quite interesting to us, and makes us wonder whether the sighting might have been related to a missing cow, or a mutilation case. PD)).

bright green triangular object throwing sparks traveling extremely fast This event was probably space junk burning up in the atmosphere, but the intensity of the light, color, and speed of object were extraordinary. A shape was discernable. It was roughly an acute triangle with points of greater brightness.

Color was bright green with gold overtones. Sparks were flying off the thing tangential to direction of movement. It traveled roughly from an 11:00 position to almost the horizon in a north-northeasterly direction.

Color of sparks ranged from gold to dark red. It looked like it had a plasma surrounding it. Size: about 16 millimeters in length and about 4 or 5 millimeters in width at the widest as observed by the naked eye.

There was also some structure evident in the shape itself with some longitudinal lines of brightness, almost a gold red, running through the basic shape. It was quite striking. I observed it from the driver's seat of my vehicle and was startled enough to come to a complete stop and contemplate what I had just seen.

A large, white, wingless object sped across the sky My buddy and I were outside getting some tools from our truck when I heard him say, "Look at that". I looked to where he was indicating, and saw a white stubby looking object traveling across the sky to the west of us in a northerly direction. I asked him if he could see any wings or tail and he said no.

Neither could I. As we watched, the craft maintained its course at a very rapid rate of speed. It soon moved beyond our sight as it passed behind a cloud.

While wondering what we had seen, and what its actual size had been, my friend spotted a commercial airliner at approximately the same altitude. We could see that the airliner was quite thinner, a little longer, and had obvious wings and a tail. The sky was dotted with white clouds that day and the object was visible to us for less than a minute before we lost sight of it.

Full Report Text:

Between 0745 and 0800 hrs going southbound on I-55 through the Missouri Bootheel the skies were partly cloudy (25% clouds) that an unidentified object was observed going West by Northwest just north of the Steele, MO exit. The object appeared to be 50-100 ft in diameter and flying at approximately 150-200 mph. The object was a silvery disk.

The re was an intense amount of static several minutes before I observed the object. I am nascar fanatic and attend various stock car racing events in the MO, AR, KY and TN area. I was reminded of telling you this by my interim commander who passed along your websites e-mail address.

I am a law abiding and peaceful, patriotic person. This object was not of earthly origin. ((NUFORC Note: Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information.

Full Report Text:

I SEE THINGS IN THE SKY ALL THE TIME I was outside entering the local YMCA when I looked into the Eastern sky and noticed three different UFO's flying very close to each other. One of them when right "in-between" the other two. They were making very odd flight patterns in the sky.

Sort of a slow motion "zig-zag." They were a very "bright white" color. I look up in the sky a lot.

I see things very often. All kinds of things. Do I believe in Aliens? I have to see to believe; however, I know there are "things" out there because the universe is just "too big" not to believe.

I have seen other things too. One time I was looking at the Moon with some "binoculars" and a huge flash of turqois, yellow, and red hit the moon. Like I said.

I see things all the time. I take no drugs or anything of that nature. I am a normal college male who is ready to get out of college and face the real world.

I love the stars and looking at them. I am very curious.
