Arizona UFO Sightings in 2002

A silent, silver bell-shaped metallic object which emitted an orange glow was observed in the afternoon by 3 persons in Phoenix, AZ. A silver bell-shaped metallic object which emitted an orange light was observed traveling northbound at a rate of approximately 180 mph & at an elevation of approximately 2000 feet for a period of ten minutes by three individuals in Phoenix,AZ on the afternoon of December 31, 2002. The object noiselessly covered a distance of 30 miles in a period of about 10 minutes, passing over the cities of Chandler, South Phoenix & Scottsdale, AZ.

It was moving parallel & nearly directly above the Interstate 10 Freeway. The object was observed from the parking lot of the 3 observers place of employment. The object had an irregular flight path, constantly, if only slightly, changing altitude & direction, but moving in a northerly direction.

It was observed from a distance of roughly 1 to 3 miles. Due to the clear daylight conditions and close proximity of its observers, as well as the object's omnidirectional movements, it's shape was clearly discernable & was not that of any aircraft known to the observers. There was no tail, wings, fuselage or propellers visible.

As it maneuvered perpendicular to the earth, its underside was seen to be black. When horizontal, it appeared the have a highly reflective metal surface. There was an intermittent orange glow about it.

When 1st sighted (at a distance of 3 to 5 miles, it had a diffused look, reminiscent of a gigantic piece of Saran Wrap, but quickly & unexpectedly assumed a much smaller solid & more circular appearance as it quickly moved closer to the initial observer. At its closest point, relative to the observers, its somewhat bell shaped outline became apparent.

Nine bright white lights forming a chevron We were driving south on 40th Street in Phoenix, approaching Greenway. What we saw, moving extremely fast almost due south, over the Phoenix Mountain Perserve, Squaw Peak area, was 9 very bright lights, shaped in the form of a chevron. There were 4 on each side and one in the very front.

These lights were extremely bright, white. The UFO was only visible for about 5 seconds, and then was blocked by Squaw Peak.

Lights above the Estrella Mountains (Phoenix, AZ) At approx. 11:30pm I notice a light, located past and above the Estrella Mountains (Phoenix, AZ). I had recently seen this object a few nights before, however due to Sky Harbor International Airport and the traffic pattern for the aircraft, I thought it was just another airplane.

This object didn't seem to move when looking at it from the distance where I was, however, when looking at the object through my telescope I noticed that the object would not stay stationary. The object had Blue (Possibly Green) and Red lights, which you would believe to be the position lights on an airplane. While watching the object it would move from side to side, normally if an aircraft turns the light on the wingtips would alternate to the other side.

This object did not. There wasn't (at least from what I could see) any anti-collision or strobe lights on it, just the Blue and Red. Luke Air Force Base is close to my home and other lights have been seen in the distance, South - Southwest of the airbase.

I have videoed some lights in the AZ sky however I was told that these lights are flares from the Air Force. As for the lights seen, recently, I have seen it before. Again, may be just another aircraft in the Phoenix sky.

It was Christmas at about 9:00am and my mom and dad were taking me to go visit my grandparents when I noticed a row of about 6 lights In a perfet straight line that were evenly spaced. They just looked like stars at the begging until they just dissapered. Then a few seconds later there they were except much farther then where I first saw them.

Then they flashed a few times.

Formation of black objects in the sky above Sedona, AZ. I was on a day trip in Sedona, Az. I took over a hundred photos during the whole day.

It was not until a few years later that my father was browsing through some of my nature photos noticed something in the sky in one of the photographs. Often I would take several shots in a row, moving the camera slightly to capture a different angle. I took a total of four photos of the same area.

In one of the photos you can see very small black objects in the sky in the distance. I did not notice anything unusual when I was there at the time. Just wanted to share this and maybe get an explanation as to what you may think it is.

Saw a huge bright red/orange object flying south and low at a high rate of speed over San Carlos Apache Reservation. Disappared in a matter of seconds with no sound. Heard stories from Globe residents about bright red/orange flying object in this area.

smal amber light to the north north east part of flagstaff I was driving home from coffe with my freind ans we saw what looked at first like a star,about as bright a venus but amber colored. Then we relised the sky was filled with storm clouds( slightly purle light a snow storm). It was stationary and to the north north east part of the sky.

just slightly east of the peaks. as we pulled onto the main street, Route 66, then it seemed the move straight away from us until we could not see it ( this lasted about 2 second) It did not look like a landing lights turning off, it was to slow for that, but we looked for a few seconds just in case to look for the flashing lights of an air plane but nothing was there, and the airport was pretty far away in the oposit direction.

A sudden flash of fire light came out of the clear sky, then the object came closer befor disapearing. Ok I was in Wittmann AZ.At my grandmathers house and I was outside.

I was looking to the northwest and saw a fast streak of fire light. That light looked close to the earth. Next I say a bright light that seemed to move through the trees and bushes.

IT looked to head to the southeast. The lights seemed to go low and then dured into a pale glow. Then it seemed to go out like a flash light with a low battery.

Now that fast streak of fire light, it was in the shape of a line(not a strait line but a line) The shape of the craft was unseen. The sky was clear, the wind was low, It wasnt very cold out. No fog, no mist.

The only people around was my cousin sister and father. The only people that say the fast streak of fire light was me and my cousin. The others only saw the bright light moving to the southeast, and then go out like a flashlight with a low battery.

Flash in the sky On the evening of 11/15/02 we were on our way home when we witnessed a flash in the sky, it almost looked like a flash of lightning. It appeared to be falling from the sky and then like a camera flash it just disappeared. I know others had to have seen it, because there was a road crew working on the road and there was a DPS officer sitting along side of the road with his lights flashing.

There was no mention of it on the evening news. I know that it was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen, but it was too big to be a falling star.

Flash of blue lights, then fast movement out of sight Viewing the sky towards the west, there was two very quick flashes of blue light. There appeared to be a flash as the light disappeared. The person with their back to the west, facing east, observed the flash of light as well asking "what was that?" On Monday, November 11th, while at a Circle K, one of the employees was telling a story about his roommate witnessing a strange blue flash of light on Sunday evening.

Descriped as flash, blue, and something moving very fast. Lasting only seconds.

Red glowing triangle shaped object flying away from the sun. While taking a picture of the beatuiful sun set a red object appeard behind the sun. Continous pictures were takened and the object flew away from the sun.

Bright glowing lights flying in the clouds in Tucson I saw two large bright glowing lights flying either in the clouds or just above the clouds. Kind of off white color, maybe slightly yellowish. Shape of both lights was mostly circular, but slightly oval.

They flew in an absolutely straight line, very fast for their size, no sound, and maintained an exact distance from each other. I couldn't tell if it was two aircraft or one aircraft with two lights, but in either case, it had to be absolutely HUGE. Each light was about the size of a dime if I put my arm out straight and held a dime in my fingers.

They came from the south and were heading in a north or slightly northwest direction. Took less than 10 seconds for them to streak across the sky and out of sight. The date is approximate but definitely during the week of November 6.

I remember the time exactly because I was sitting in my car drinking coffee, parked just outside the flightline at Davis-Monthan AFB waiting for my shift to start. I was participating in an exercise and normally wasn't there that early. When I saw the lights go by, I froze, didn't want to blink or even breath.

The lights flew either right above the runway or were slightly outside the perimeter of the base, but they were going in the same direction as the runway. I had been in the Air Force for over 11 years at that point, worked the flightline day and night, seen all kinds of aircraft come and go and I NEVER saw anything like this. After the lights went by, I looked around the parking lot to see if anyone else saw it, but no one was around.

That in itself was odd. There should have been several people in the parking lot by that time. When lunchtime came, I went back to my unit to report it to the SOC desk.

I asked them to call the tower or base ops to see if they saw it or got any similar reports. The guy at the SOC desk just laughed and made a joke of it, like "ha ha, Sgt E saw a UFO, what were you drinking, what were you smoking, can I have some of that too?" I kind of expected that since he was an assclown so I let him joke around for a minute and then I asked him, ok can we get serious now? Just call the tower and ask them if they saw it. Next he just ignored me so I pressed him a little harder.

Then one of the ADOs came out of his office and told me to just drop it, asked me if I have somewhere I need to be and told me to get going. I've never seen anything like it since but if I ever do, I'll certainly never report it through Air Force channels since no one wants to hear about it anyway. There's simply no one who takes such reports.

Report it through your chain of command and they won't give a crap. Report it to any other Air Force agency and it will never make it past the nearest shredder or trash can. The "that's not my job" philosophy definitely applies here.

Since I just found this site and a couple others like it, I figured I'd check to see if anyone else ever saw what I saw, but I don't see any that match this particular sighting. So for what it's worth, here's my one and only sighting. If I see any more, I'll let you know.

Two large bright glowing lights flying in the clouds in Tucson. This is an addendum to the report already filed for the same date, time, and location. I rewrote paragraph 2 only, so you can replace the second paragraph with this one.

I remember the time exactly because I was sitting in my car drinking coffee, parked just outside the flightline at Davis-Monthan AFB waiting for my shift to start. I was participating in an exercise and normally wasn't there that early. It was still fairly dark outside but daylight was just starting to break.

As I was looking forward through the windshield, I first saw the lights out of the corner of my eye out the driver side window. Even before I turned to look at them, I could instantly tell these were odd lights in the sky. As I watched the lights go by, I froze, didn't want to blink or even breath, and I had this real ominous feeling like I was in the presence of something otherworldly.

The lights flew either right above the runway or were slightly outside the perimeter of the base, but they were going in the same direction as the runway. These lights were so bright, they lit up the clouds. I had been in the Air Force for over 11 years at that point, worked the flightline day and night, seen all kinds of aircraft come and go and I NEVER saw lights on a conventional aircraft that were big enough or bright enough to do this, especially since the lights were just as bright coming from the south as they were when they flew out of range to the northwest.

It really frustrated me that there was a straight narrow path of clouds going from the south to the northwest while most of the rest of the sky was clear. These clouds were slightly puffy and relatively low in the sky. I would best describe them as stratocumulus, and guess their altitude between 6,000 to 10,000 feet.

I was hoping the lights would make a turn so I could get a better look at them but they stayed behind this narrow path of clouds the entire way and I was never able to see an object. Also, I should mention that as bright and fast as these lights were, surprisingly I saw no contrails at all. After the lights went by, I looked around the parking lot to see if anyon! e else s aw it, but no one was around.

5 Crafts in unity for about .5 seconds move incredibly fast and disappeared immediately. Was driving up a hill going West.

2 others in the car, i was the only witness, but other passanger driving around earlier described similar appearance earlier. I saw 5 lights near eachother, in a perfect line, jump about 1 mile in pefect unity. They were white just like a shooting star, but 5 shooting stars dont appear in a perfect line.

They immediately dissapeared within about a half second.

Two Orbs Seen Over Scottsdale We were at a restaurant eating dinner when we noticed two bright orange balls of light traveling parallel to each other and the ground. They were well over the horizon and traveled in a straight pattern for a short period of time. They appeared to have a tail similar to a comet's.

The objects then veered opposite of their current direction fairly quickly. One of the objects then stopped moving and started to spin, and then quickly disappeared. The other ball of light then began to spin for a second or two then disappeared like the other did.

That was the last that we saw of them.

November 1, 2002 I seen a Triangle shaped craft. In 2002 the month of October 31, I when to The Creasent Hotel in the pent house so we were very high up well at about 12:30a.m.

or 1:00a.m. so lets say November 1, 2002 I was out side on a patio chair langing and looking up in the sky and the stars and the moon very brite that night and clear and I was talking to a friend that was with me and he was standing by the edge looking over smoking a cig and as I was talking and looking up in the night sky theire was the very big it looked black triagle shape craft with light's on each point well not point at each edge it was rounded but anyways they had light's on each rounded corner and theire was not sound what so ever and it was look not very far from were I was no wind moving very slow and I ran to the edge were my friend was and said what is that? and he looked and got all startaled and was mumbling words what the hell is it and this man was in the serves before and he said it was not military and that is had never ever seen such a craft and we just watched it go but he was trying to wave it down I ran in side and would not go back out until it left and it did but that was the last time.

Huge round fireball heading straight toward the ground at great speed with orange yellow streak trial stopping before it hit the ground I'm a truck driver out of Arkansas. I Had picked up my load north of San Francisco and was heading to Nashville, TN for delivery. Crossing into Arizona at some point I believe around 9:30 to 10:00 I noticed a huge ball of light fall straight out of the sky toward the ground.

I was on my cell phone to my father when it appeared and he shared my experience as did several other vehicals that passed by. I thought it was the end me and everyone as this huge Ball with an orange and yellow trail streaked toward the earth. It was huge! If it was a meteor it would have surely been a global killer.

It stoped before it smashed into the ground. I was in shock and my father a 30 year Naval Officer listened as I described what I saw. I stoped the truck parked and started walking toward the object describing what I was seeing to my father: it appeared as a blue perfectly round sphear.

Suddenly it seemed to cloak itself blending perfectly into the horizon and desert background. Suddenly there was what appeared to be a bolt of lightning emiting straight up toward the sky from the cloaked object -- that streak stayed for what seemed like several minuets. Finally, a perfect image of a large Blue Whale materialized and seemed to levetate in mid-air.

It was at this point that my father told me to go back to the truck and try to confirm what I had seen with other witnesses. ((NUFORC Note: We have spoken with this witness, and we found him to be quite credible. However, we learned that he is not certain of the date, and.

The object appeared to be a dimmly illuminated flying wing approximately diamond shaped with squared off wing tips. The object appeared to be a flying wing approximately diamond shaped with squared off wing tips. The relative size spanned the field of view of my thumb held at arms length (wingtip span same as length of thumb, forward to aft span same as width of thumb).

The object brightness was approximately the same as average brightness of Pleiades. The dimness of the object prevented me from focusing on it to observe any detail. The sky was dark with closest street lights more than 100 yards away.

There was no interfering noise such as traffic or aircraft. It was dead quiet as the object passed directly overhead from East-South-East to West-North-West. The object traversed a straight line at uniform speed and dissappeared out of sight 10 degrees above the horizon within 10 to 15 seconds from the time I first spotted it.

I observed the object through approximately 100 angular degrees of the sky. The object moved into my field of view as I was observing Pleiades and thinking to myself about how clear the sky was and how well my vision was working that evening. I would not have noticed it otherwise.

At first I thought it was a satellite but it was moving too fast and was too large. I was walking with my wife and when I said "Look at that!" she caught view of it immediately. All her impressions of the object agreed with mine.

I cannot say what the alitiude of the object was but if it was at relatively low altitude (1000's of feet) then it was moving fast enough to break the sound barrier and if it was at satellite altitude then it would have to have been several miles wide.
