Arizona UFO Sightings in 1993

My friend and I saw a triangle made of smaller triangles fly over us at a low altitude. My friend and I were sitting outside one night and we saw a unique bright light shining about 45 minutes. We were watching it.

It did not make any noise or anything at this time. It just looked like a star for the longest time. But it was moving so we know it was not a star.

We talked about it and forgot about it. After about 45 minutes it began getting larger and larger. Then it was about 100 meters high and on the other side of a hotel that it at Spencer and University.

It was very loud at this time. It was black. It has about 10 lights (It looked like what I would call navigational lights).

It was triangular in shape overall. It looked like it was made of about 4 triangles. It had beams holding it together.

Kind of like a jungle gym that made a big triangle. Each section was distinct. The lights were placed on the tips of each corner, and on the "torso" of the craft.

At this time we thought that it was a strange type of plane going in for a landing. Then it occured to us "Where the hell is it going to land? On the ASU campus?". Then it flew behind the hotel.

The noise went away. Then about 15 minutes later, it emerged from the other side of the hotel. It proceeded in a declining angle of projectory and went behind a parking garage and we never saw it again.

Once again as soon as we could not see it we could not hear it. It was loud enough that you could have heard it at least a mile away. It was LOUD.

The lights on the craft were slightly blurry or hard to focus on. So I am checking the aura/haze button below.

Yuma- Arizona 1993 Large Triangle shaped craft. Long Description of Sighting Report About a month and a half after the Wacco Texas Compound incident is when this took place. My uncle lived in a trailer park just off the side of a Marine Fighter base.

We would walk down a dirt road to the end of the AOA area to watch the planes. We especially enjoyed watching them do touch and goes after dark. This was because the f-16's had bright green lights on their tail fins.

On the last night we were in Yuma, we stood on a dirt hill at the end of the base's runway. It was around 9pm when the last of the fighters took off. This time when they disappeared over the horizon, they never returned.

After about 30 minutes of no aircraft activity on the base, we got bored and left. On the way back to the trailer park I just happened to look up to admire the stars. When I looked up, I could only see darkness.

At first I wondered if some clouds had rolled in without us noticing them. So I began to look out past the dark spot to see how far the cloud cover reached. It was at that moment that I noticed there were star visible all around the dark spot in the sky.

Confused I began to study the dark spot. It was then that I noticed that the object had a long straight leading edge. I could tell, because the stars above were disappearing under these leading edges at an equal rate of speed.

Then out of the corner of my eye I noticed a flash. I looked toward the tiny flash and it went off again. It reminded me of an airplane beacon.

Next I followed the leading edge of the wing forward until I noticed a tiny white light at the nose. The light was constantly on, just very hard to detect with the naked eye. It looked like all the other stars in the sky.

I then followed the leading edge of the wing down the opposite side of the craft. At a great distance away, I spotted another tiny green strobe light. The object appeared to be about 200-400 feet up.

Standing back I looked from one strobe light to the other. Then I followed those lights up to the tiny light in the nose area of the craft. The vehicle was huge.

I estimated about a football field’s length from wing tip to wing tip. Perhaps half a football fields length from the back of the craft to the tiny nose light. I couldn't believe how large the craft was! The craft moved at a very low rate of speed.

It almost seemed to have a hover capability. I stopped walking to listen to see if the object made any noise. I heard a very quite blowing sound.

It reminded me of a fighter plan idling on the taxi-way. The exception was that it was barely audible. We watch the craft float slowly over the edge of Yuma and then disappear into the darkness.

The whole event took about 3 minutes time. I always assumed that this was a military aircraft. I could clearly see the Marine Fighter Base's air traffic control tower from where I was at the time.

I figured if I could see the tower, then the tower could see the object. Since there was no activity on the base at the time, I figured they knew about it. A military fighter base wouldn't let such a large object float past the end of their runway and do nothing.

Then last year I was listening to the Art Bell show on Coast to Coast Am. On that show a guest called in from Arizona. The guest exactly described the same craft that I had seen.

This brought up the whole discussion of the famous "Arizona Lights." After hearing several stories about this large triangle type craft I decided to contact you. Is this a military craft being secretly tested at night? What is your take on this incident? Ps.

I am an air show fan and love all sorts of military aircraft. I've seen a lot of planes in action, but nothing I've ever seen or heard came close to this craft and it capabilities.

A massive object in the sky, that shined a light in front of me that was very weird. this happened when Iwas ten years old and around sept. 10th 1993.

It was after dark on apartly cloudy night with the moon out there was no other aircaft around and the weather was good. Every Friday evening my Mom and I would walk around the school I was going to for fun Etc. on the way back about half a block from my house I was looking down and was about 7 feet behind my mom Out of nowhere a very bright dark blue light flashes on the ground right in front of me.

the best way to describe this light is it looks like the light you would see at the bottom of a pool with the water moving kinda like bubbles but not kinda like electricity, but not very weird but pretty I guess you could say the light had no noise to it. Once is saw the light i looked up to the sky and there happened to be a opening in the clouds that was a good 2 to 3 miles wide. there was a very large cloud behind me, but I saw nothing.

I began to think it was so funny lightining or something like that. At this point I ask my mom did you see that she said no. At about the same time we both lookedagain to see anything one more time and out of the cloud comes a very very very large rectangle object at a very fast speed going west tored Luke Air Force Base about 7 miles west of where I am at.

I lost track of it in the clouds about ten seconds after I saw it, but in those ten seconds it was proable 7 miles away already. The Clouds that night where about normal alttuide and like I said earlier the opening was about 2 to 3 miles long and about a mile wide this object was bigger then the opening in the clouds I want to say it was 12 to 15 aircarft carries long and 6 to 8 wide it was HUGH. The object had a ton of lights on it all over the place they could have been in a pattern , but it went by so fast and unexpectedly was unable to see that.

The one thing I did notice was the back end of the object, the back end was all white/blue lights kinda like a rocket area or where the engines are at. The object looked to have a blueish silver metal on it. The object made no noise at all and did not displace a cloud that was the weirdest part of all for something that big, that fast, and with what looked simalur to rockets on back that was just not right.

I have been a beleaver ever since. I have never seen or heard of anyhting like this ever again. also to note for the next hour after seening this my eyes were burning.

Large rectangle object making no noise. I saw this object so many years ago and the year and month are correct, but the day could be off it was sometime around the first half of the month. I was in my backyard, looking at the sky.

The night was calm and quiet, the sky was partly cloudy (but the clouds were sitting lower than normal at approximately 7000 to 8000 feet), and no planes were in the area. I lived approximately 8 or so miles east from Luke AFB. At about 2015 hours or so, I noticed blue lights, lighting up a large cloud to the south of my house.

The blue color that I can describe is like a welders blue light a bright dark blue color. This light appeared from the cloud about 2 to 3 times in a short period of time. The light looked to be coming out of the cloud but there was no visible beam to it, so I was not sure if it was making it to the ground.

Oddly enough on the final light flash, I did here someone yell to the south of me about a light flash, but I don't know if this was related. After that, approximately 30 or so seconds later a large rectangle object came out of this cloud slowly , but increase speed quickly. The object had many sets of lights all over the haul and there were no viable wings on it.

The objects structure looked metallic bluish-gray in color. The object made zero noise. At the speed it was traveling and the size of the object not hearing any sound from it made the sighting very uneasy.

The object traveled through a few more clouds and went west heading towards Luke AFB, but ended up shooting up into the sky and almost vanishing in seconds. a few minutes after I lost track of the object, I smell something similar to burning electronics or something like that and my eye became a little irritated. I am not sure if this was related or if a neighbor was doing something funny.

The size of the object is hard to explain. The size of the object was something I could never think that could fly, a specially with no wings nor making a sound. Being retired career military and having clearances.

I have very good knowledge of military aircraft both known and kept secret, long with civilian aircraft. I have no clue what this is or was. this was tattooed to my brain that night.

I only now come forward because my story should be told. I never saw another object in the sky after that but this was enough for me.

I worked at a car company that made front ends for Cadillac (front wheel drive axels), I was on my second break for my second shift job I went out to smoke a cigarette on a park bench just outside the back door; the entire backside is surrounded in a fence; to Silos to the left; outback was nothing but an open field; as I walked outside to sit on a park bench; I sat with my feet on the seat in my butt on the upper platform I took a few little drags from my cigarette, I happened to notice in the sky a very large triangular shape craft moving very very slowly directly over me.it moves so slow I could make out details on the bottom, It had rounded edges like a doughnut around the outer edge but in the middle looks like an upside down city or blocks stacked all in different sizes no two were the same height (like stacked black blocks) In the front was a dull red light, and on the rear of each corner were dull blue lights; it flew so slowly but I got a really g! ood look at it, as it passed over the first layer of clouds and that’s how I knew how large it was, it was approximately the size of three 747 airline jets wingtip to wingtip the circumference all the way around, it took approximately 10 minutes to fly over my head directly and as it disappeared over the building and the first layer of clouds; a bright red light peaked out of the clouds in the same line as the first craft as if it were peeking out from the clouds then it stopped and sped off to catch up to the triangle craft, I was in aww; the craft never made one sound, if I did not look up I would not of even known that it was there.(totally silent) After they left my site, I drop my head in disbelief, but I believe it; because I saw it; a couple of seconds later another person sitting in a Ford truck to my right flashed his lights at me.

to me I’m guessing that it was to tell me that he had seen it as well. I knew it was a Ford truck because of the shape of the headli! ghts and as well as the quick flash of the lights in which onl! y at thi s time could do this flash so quickly by doing so by pulling the turn signal backwards, I got up and went back to work as if nothing had happened; after work I could not wait to tell my wife what had happened. The next week my wife then told me that people had reported the same citing in the newspaper at the Kalamazoo gazette.

Assuming that maybe the person that seen it with me was the one to have reported it at this time, I have only told three people of this and here.

Bursting through the web. On a desert trip, driving south from Flagstaff we drove through a "web" across the freeway. Exceedingly strange stuff.

We had noticed strange cloud formations and lightening earlier in the evening travelling on I40 from California toward Flagstaff as if a storm was pacing us but never quite hit. As we were a few miles south on I17, right before the Sedona exit we suddnely saw a "fog" across the road. There was no other traffic and I braked to slow up when suddenly we burst through to the other side.

There was a sticky film on the windshield and car. When we reached our destination a couple of hours south we checked the car and there was a residue. Being late, we decided to check the car out in the morning light.

It rained that night and nothing was left on the car next day. It still ranks as one of the strangest experiences I have ever had. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.

In around 1993, perhaps 92, I was sitting in my hotel room with my mother when a child around my age (9) came running in and said, &quot In around 1993, perhaps 92, I was sitting in my hotel room with my mother when a child around my age (9) came running in and said, "something is in the sky". I ran out to see a group of people gathered looking up at an object sitting completely still above the Colorado River. The craft had the shape of a doughnut with a hole directly through it.

That was the middle of the day and the craft could be clearly seen. It hovered I'd say only a few hundred feet above the river. 500 tops.

There was a series of lights flashing from the bottom of the craft with hues ranging from blue to orange to redish. As the group of onlookers watched, This group consisting of mostly grown women and some men, the object sped away following the river towards needles CA, or Kingman, AZ, direction. It moved so quickly it was virtually instant.

I would guess several thousand miles per hour. From what I remember the newspaper tried explaining it away but to be honest can't really r! ecall as it was so long ago and I was so young. There is no doubt however in my mind that this craft was not of this world and I am not alone.

I'd love to find more information on this sighting. It's something that has been with me for years and yet I've never heard it mentioned on any programs or anything, and this has been odd to me being that it was such an amazing, clear sighting, and that many people witnessed it.

Several incandescent football-shaped craft appeared and manuevered in ways unlike any Earthly craft. UFO Report Dear Sir; I was just made aware of your reporting center from a television show narrated by Peter Jennings. I appreciate your work.

I’m sending you an ancient sighting report for one purpose: You may be able to compare the description I give with similar ones, or it may stand out as a different one. The event happened in approximately 1993 or 1994 in the summer. My son, his girlfriend and myself were in the back yard of my house when the girlfriend said “Look at that” and pointed to a plastic shopping bag that had been kicked up by a gust of wind.

When I looked at the shopping bag my gaze was directed elsewhere and I saw 4 or 5 craft that I consider to be not only unidentified flying objects but non-Earthly flying craft. The craft were gold in color and incandescent, glowing with their own light in the full sun, with no part of the craft shadowed. The craft had no windows, flight controls or other appurtenances.

They were identical, about the size of a thumbnail on an outstretched hand, and were shaped very similar to a football with one exception: The points of a football are centered between top and bottom, but in these craft the points were slightly lower than the center. The craft maneuvered independently. I’m not sure of their number because they maneuvered in diverse directions and moved so fast I couldn’t get a count of them.

I watched one in particular and observed it to move very fast, and to make sudden changes in direction, performance unlike any Earthly craft. All of the craft were located to the south-southwest of my position. The one I watched most intently moved to just about due west of me and then changed direction suddenly and went back to the south.

All manuevers observed occurred in clear sky with no other background. The observation lasted only a minute or so. Eventually all craft disappeared in one way or another.

The one I watched the most carefully went into or behind a cloud. At that point I queried my other observers and they agreed, yes, they had seen them too. The area of my observation is a few miles west of the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

No Earthly craft would likely be in that area without the knowledge and permission of the Phoenix TRACON. Seconds after my sighting terminated an airliner departed westbound out of Sky Harbor and climbed directly through the same place in the sky that I had seen these gold-colored craft maneuvering. The airliner made it all the more apparent by it’s difference that the craft I had been observing were not Earthly craft.

The airliner was larger than the craft, moved very much more slowly, and displayed clear areas of sunlit and shadowed areas on the top and bottom of the fuselage. I had a 20-year career as a Police Officer, was so employed at the time, and consider myself observant and objectively so. If you’ve had other reports giving the same description, one that I find to be rare among my casual UFO reading, I’d be interested in knowing about them.

Small circle of white lights observed to at first drift across sky, then radically change direction and accelerate out of sight. A circle with maybe 15 white lights around its perimeter was observed to slowly glide across the sky without sound. After about 2 minutes of observing it in this matter, it immediately changed direction and accelerated at extraordinary speed toward the horizon.

This was a brief encounter on a clear night. The silence of the passing of the object is what struck me the most. The object was a BRIGHT round white glowing sphere with no other observable lights or colors.

Estimated altitude was about 1000 to 1500 feet making the object about twenty feet in diameter. There was no engine noise as the object sped from east to west overhead in a straight trajectory. This would have put the object just over E.

Bethany Home Road (Phoenix, AZ) as it headed west. I had contacted the Phoenix PD and the dispatcher’s words were: "I’m not sure what you saw but I’ve been getting calls from all over the city about it." Luke AFB had no comment.

A little about me: I’m ex-military and was a jumper for the Army Parachute in West Germany in the early 80’s and had jumped from and flew in a number of aircraft through the years. This wasn’t ours! ((NUFORC NOTE: Witness indicates that date of the sighting is approximate. PD)).

numerous UFO's erratically streaming from red rock formation "guarded" by gov't black helicopters Some friends and I were doing some hiking/hanging out on Schnebly Hill in Sedona, Arizona sometime during the month of May in 1993. There were approximately 10-20 of us all around the area. It's been more than 10 years, so I'll do my best at decribing what I can remember.

I only just found this site today (07/19/04). I was living in Sedona at the time, and my friends and I loved to go hiking whenever we could. We had heard many stories of UFO's, but most there had never witnessed any personally.

A couple of my closest friends and I were inside the van which was parked at the top of Shnebley (sp?)or as close as we could get. There was a sort of pseudo rocky parking lot which we used as a "base". I don't remember the exact time, but it was near dusk and I was inside the van with a few friends.

All of a sudden someone pulled open the sliding door and screamed, "you've got to come see this.there are some strange things going on out here!" So, of course, we all piled out and walked to the end of the "parking lot", looking towards the major rock formations directly across from us (I can't remember the name of the certain formation now). They were all pointing across the way to what looked like two black helicoptors which were looking like they were "guarding" either side of this strange rock formation.

This is so hard to explain, I wish I could remember the name of the rock.you'd know exactly how it was set up. WEll, just then, the middle flat front face of this rock formation all of a sudden disappeared while the black helicoptors just "stood guard" on either side of the "cave" and UFO's stared flying out of the new formed "cave".

The UFO's were fling very erraticly, hard to count or follow a certain one. They continued to zip about until all were out of the "cave". Then in a flash they were here, then there, then zap! gone! no where to be seen! Then, the rock face closed back up and the black helicoptors waited a few minutes and took off.

All of us were stunned, needless to say. We didn't know what to think and all of us had our own descriptions of what we saw, but we all agreed that we had witnessed something none of us could explain. All of us all felt an unnatural "buzzing" like a different frequency disturbing the area.

During the next few months of living there, I encountered many sightings of black helicopters, strange stories of "government men in black" turning away hikers in certain areas and caves, and even a strange underground explosion, or earthquake, or something.(none who were with me ever heard anything in the news about an earthquake or explosion underground in the Sedona area). I still don't know exactly what we all saw, but it was definitely something all of us witnessed that we had never before imagined or could deny.

On a sunny afternoon in the spring of 1993 I had my first visual day sighting with 3 other family members. The object appeared to be hovering in the south part of the Prescott, AZ valley. The object I saw was roughly 2 miles away and around 3000 feet high.

When I first saw the object I was standing on a porch outside my grand parents house so I had enough time to rush inside after a minute of amazement and grab some binoculars that were hung on the wall beside the entrance facing east. My close up look revealed that I could clearly see the craft from all sides because although it was fixed at one point in the air it spun around counter clockwise at around 20 RPM showing off all sides of the craft. The color of the craft was tarnished silver metallic and it was weirdly shaped like a cut precious stone or like a diamond kind of slanted in a 45-degree angle.

I say weirdly shaped because its design did not signify any form of conventional aerodynamics. It literally looked like a rock that should have fallen out of the sky. It appeared to be the size of a small prop aircraft or it may have covered almost a nickel I think.

driving south bound on gilbert road approaching the superstition freeway the sun bounced off something in the air and it caught my attention. I came to a stop at the light and looked up. Although it appeared to be silver it pretty much blended in with the blue sky.

It was a combination of tear drop and egg but it just hovered there while i stared at it closer to the ground than an airplane. no noise no movement. the light changed and as i drove away i lost sight of it.

Dont know how long it stayed there.

For many years since 1978 to 2004 there have been different types U.S military air craft flying over my families home and my neighbors homes on the Navajo Indian Reservation a small town known as Ganado which is located in Arizona. During this time my father, brother in-law and I have witness only one sighting of a strange shape air craft along with five bright lights blinks in the evening sky in March 31, 1992.

About 5:30pm on March 31, 1992 As we were traveling west on state high way 264 passing a small Hopi village heading to Tuba City, Arizona my brother in-law saw five strange lights blinking in the evening sky other vehicles in front and back witness this strange lights from the evening sky. There were two vehicles in front of us that pulled over aside the road to look at the strange lights the other three vehicles behind us pulled over aside to watch this light from the sky. The three of us kept driving west to Tuba City and suddenly the lights disappear into the evening sky.

There have also been different types military cargo planes flying at low altitude in the dead of night. During this time my family and neighbors have watch these strange these air craft flying below a military cargo plane in the dead of night sometimes if we’re lucky enough we would see these strange air craft flying below a cargo plane on a full moon. For many years we watch the us government test the Northrop Grumman switchblade aircraft and other classified air craft flying over our homes on the Indian reservation.

So basically we’ve watch these aircraft come to life but the weird thing is that we don’t see these strange air craft flying any more on the Indian Reservation no more low altitude fly by’s, all the strange air craft we don’t see any more.

It happened while waiting for the school bus to arrive. The sun had not come up yet, and it was still fairly dark. I noticed an amber light that looked similar to a military flair.

Then in an instant there were two more lights (all of which were flickering or unsteady light). They were positioned above a mountain known as pilot knob, they couldn't have been more than a mile or so from me. The silhouette of the mountain was visible enough to realize they weren't falling like a flare.

As I'm watching these they began to go out one by one. As the last light goes out, a similar light appears above a friend's house. This shift was in an instant.

The lights began to re-appear above my friends house in the same type of pattern as seen with the Phoenix lights several years later (only a little tighter of a circular pattern). The lights stayed above the house until about when I was being picked up by the bus. Then, they began to go off one by one in no particular pattern.

Again, as the last light goes off, a light appears over Ave D (about a half mile away) in an instant. I remember the bus driving undrneath the lights, they glowed bright enough to see a glow on the ground. I don't remember seeing anything structurally between the lights nor do I remember any noises.
