Texas UFO Sightings in 1993

Enormous UFO Arlington, Texas Although I have given the date of my sighting as December of 1993, I am unsure of the exact date. I was driving East on Arkansas Lane in Arlington Texas in early afternoon. As I topped the hill and approached the intersection of Park Springs and Arkansas Lane I saw an enormous oval shaped disk that appeared to be made of highly polished silver, hovering over the City of Grand Prairie, Texas, which is the City to East of Arlington and about 10 miles from the intersection I was approaching.

It seemed to me to be about the width of a football field or two and was much larger on the horizon than the Dalworthington Gardens Water tower that came into view as I approached the next traffic light at the corner of Spanish Trail and Arkansas Lane. The strange thing about this sighting is that the UFO appeared to be appearing and disappearing as it sort of wobbled while sitting there in the sky. Although I did not see any airliners at that time, The UFO seemed to be sitting well above the trees that were visible to me and just under a landing flight path to DFW Airport that I generally always see a plane or two making a final approach when I travel East on Arkansas Lane.

Sometime before this sighting, I remember hearing about some one or some group trying to project a picture of Christ in the skyline above New York City and at first I thought that because the UFO was appearing and disappearing that perhaps that was happening here also. However, this was in broad daylight. I looked to my left, intending to honk at the white pick up truck to my left and call the driver's attention to what ever this was.

However when I looked at the driver, I could see that the gentleman driving the truck had his mouth open and was looking at the same sight I was seeing. I continued down Arkinsas Lane and the UFO continued to hover and appear and disappear until I reached the intersection of Bowen Rd. and Arkansas Lane.

Then the UFO disappeared and never appeared again. The next day, I was again in my car listening to either the local Classical or Oldies but Goodies Radio station, when the announcer made the following addition to a short news break, "All you people in Arlington, who called in to report what you thought was a UFO yesterday were actually seeing a weather baloon." I was not one of those people who called in, but I do know that what I saw was no weather baloon.

At the time of my sighting, I did not have a computer. Two years later when I did purchase one, I began a search that continues today for someone, anyone who saw this same UFO I am unsure of the date and even the exact year, but I know that others must have seen it and either called the authorities or a radio a station to report it.

Large mother ship sighting and smaller UFO chased by military fighters. While hunting in a very remote area of south Texas in a deer blind about 12 feet above the ground I noticed a circular light to my left in the late afternoon. I looked toward it very briefly as I was preparing to come down from the blind.

In my mind I registered the light as the rising moon but then I thought to myself that the object was too big to be the moon, even if it was low in the sky. When I turned my head to look at the object again it was gone. I saw this light for a mere second or two.

About fifteen minutes later my four buddies came for me in a pick-up truck. As we were looking at a wild boar that someone had shot I looked at the night sky and saw a very large array of white lights in a horizontal line low over the horizon that seemed to be at least a few miles away. The lights emitted no sound whatsoever.

For this UFO to look so large to us and seem to be so far away seemed impossible. I can only describe it as being some type of mother ship and in fact reminded me of an aircraft carrier just floating over the horizon. All of us saw this object and were telling each other "What the hell is that?" As we watched this UFO for about a minute the lights would change from white to yellow.

And they would turn off and on again each time in a different sequence and in alternating groups. Five on, two off, three on, all off, etc. Then suddenly a fog or smoke cloud appeared over the lights and they all went off.

About four seconds later the same lights appeared much higher in the sky almost at forty five degrees to the horizon. Prior the lights were just above the horizon. It would seem impossible for such a large object to rise that high that fast.

We all mentioned to each other in amazement how that could have happened. Within a few seconds the lights went completely off and it was gone. After a short time (about five minutes) we were on our way out of the ranch and heading to the highway.

I kept looking at the sky hoping to see that ship again when suddenly I saw another smaller craft high overhead turning in a wide circle to my left. I could distinctly see the back of it and saw a diamond shaped light with lights inside of it that were in a horizontal line and turning on and off in sequence toward the center. This UFO was being chased by two military fighters! This was very easy to see in the night sky and I looked at this with binoculars.

All my buddies saw this also. We just kept driving and I kept watching this awesome display until they faded out of sight. The jet fighters lingered in the area for a while circling in CAP (combat air patrol).

The flickering object had a smaller object moving in and out of it . On or about 9/93 I went outside to enjoy the cool night time surroundings . I lived in Everman at the time and our house faced West towards I.

35 . The sky was very clear , and when I looked in the sky I saw a bright light (star like) but brighter . I thought it was a aircraft at first but it never moved .

Then all of a sudden it began to move from side to side and moving in an assortment of different angles very quickly . I knew at that time that this was not an airplane nor helicopter , because I worked in the Navy during night and day Aircraft Recovery and refueling . So I've seen too many Aircrafts at night to know this was not a commercial or military object .

When it began to move , but it stayed in the same location . I went inside my house and got my wife . I told her to come with me outside , that I wanted for her to tell me what she could see in the Sky .

She went outside with me and looked in the sky and seen the bright object and it began to move rapidly again . She grabbed me and we both looked at each other in amazement and began to talk about it to one another . After about 30 min.

my wife got scared and went inside the house , I stayed outside and watched it move and stop moving . And it also flickered and changed colors , to a red and white flicker . I then noticed another bright object NorthWest of it and it began to flicker as well .

And when I looked back at the first object it started to flicker really fast and I started seeing beams of light come from underneath the object and a smaller object moving out of it and then entering back inside . That scared me because it was very vivid , so I ran inside my house . My wife asked me was it still there and I told her Yes , and what it began to do .

We both looked out the front window of my house in fear . We went back outside because I had to see this thing again to make sure that it was real . It was still there in the same location and moved very slowly from one angle to another .

And than it began to move I thought , but! it would fade out then it would get bright again . It did that for about 10 min. and it faded out completely .

This began at 10pm and was over around 12am . My wife and I remember this like it happened just yesterday . We could not go to sleep that night and I called a local T.

V. news station to see if there were any reports of strange lights in the sky in or about my area . They told me No .

But my wife and I know what we saw and it took alot of time for us to calm down . And we also called the Everman P.D.

to no avail . We have told no one but my son . We do not like to watch any UFO programs , because it brings back what we saw that night too vivid .

moch plane my sighting occured at night and at a distance so i did not see much detail just lights. i saw what i believed to be a jet or plane of some kind because of the pattern and color of the lights. one large white light with two smaller red lights on each side much like an air plane.

what made my sighting wierd is that the plane stoped and seemed to hover making no sound, then the two red lights detached from the main light and seemed to make a controlled landing on the ground with each red light going its on way. i believe the two red lights were some sort of probes. Triangle UFO lake ray hubbard. So this was on a cool evening right before fall. Me and my GF at the time went swimming.

In the evenings, when it's a little cooler, we would wait for the outside AC units to turn on before getting out of the pool. The AC units would blow warm air out and keep us warm as we hopped from one another till we got home. Anyway, we are in the pool and I hear what sounds like an AC unit cut on.

I look around and don't see any of the fan's moving. I don't remember why but I looked up to see 3 bright lights in a triangle formation hovering above us. We both seen it than looked at each other, before I bolted out of the pool area leaving her behind (I know, I know.

I was only 13 at the time). Last time I spoke to her was probably 15 years ago and she remembers the story exactly as I do. Lots of weird things out by Lake Ray Hubbard.

4 adults watched a light in the sky coming from the southeast for 5 minutes before it got to us.We all stood up silently as this huge craft flew right over us. It came from the southeast and almost seemed to have a headlight.

As it got close we all rose to watch it.It seemed to fill the sky.It was moving very slow maybe 10 miles an hour.

it was 100' off the ground.Shaped like a boomarang.Corners had small dim lights and even the headlight was dim up close.

It was very dark.Without the lights we would not have even seen it.It turned left and went up hiway67 south going towards san angelo.

Sighted silver disk in motion on a cloudless, sunny day. I was walking down the street, and noticed the disk in the sky above the horizon by perhaps 30 degrees. The direction was northwest of my location, in northwest Houston.

It was fairly far away, in my estimation around 2 miles. The object may have been cylindrical in shape, or disk-shaped but on edge. I believe it to be the latter.

I would estimate its diameter at roughly 200'. It was gray in color, or maybe a matte silver like brushed steel. The object was moving northeast (?) at about 400 ft/s, not very fast.

After observing the object in flight for around 10 seconds, I found that I could no longer locate it. I am a college student, 19. At the time of this event, I was 13, but I never thought to report it until now, despite my interest in UFOs.

My memory may be sketchy concerning some details, but my recollection of the overall event is accurate.

An orange ball making two opposite 45 degree angle turns crosses the sky to the south in 5 - 7 seconds. Circling my neighborhood in the wee hours, about 3:30 am, as I walked to the west on the other side of my sub-division, I looked to the NW where I had an unobstructed 120 degree view of the sky. There I saw an orange ball about the size of number four shot held at arm's length motionless in a two o'clock po sition.

It remained at rest for five or so seconds. It suddenly began to move to the south to a two o'clock position covering the 120 degrees of sky in 5 - 7 seconds. During that time it made two opposite 45 degree abrupt turns before disappearing behind the houses to my southern view.

The whole incident lasted 15 seconds or so. The color of the object was orange like the orange of the University of Texas and the color remained the same during the entire incident. This occurred on a Saturday morning but I do not remember which Saturday in July it was.

It appeared to be several miles away and several thousand feet in altitude based on my experience viewing aircraft. There was no sound associated with the sighting. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that date of incident is approximate.

black triangle craft in sky over meyerland mall seen by many witnesses and 2 houston police officers. As me and another fellow officer were pulling up in the parking lot of Meyerland mall to call out and eat we noticed approx 10 people looking up at the sky.We looked up and saw an object that was black and shaped like a triangle,it didnot move.

We got tired of watching (watched for approx 10 minutes) this odd object and went in to eat.We came back out and the object was gone.this was not a plane,it looked like the stealth bomber,but it was very high and did not move,a true UFO I WOULD SAY.

Flying triangles slowly floating about a light pole. Passed right above us! In the summer of early 90s I was around 10 years old and my cousin was around 8 or 9 (ages are not exact but more or less) we used to sleep over at each other's houses and stay late at night outside in the yards usually doing kid stuff like making small fires and such. One night he spent the night at my house and it mustve been around 2am or 3am when we went to the front gate which was about 5 feet away from the street and we saw a formation of silent, flying triangles floating slowly (I would guess about 5 mph) parallel right above the street (north to south).

I remember them flying slightly above a light pole (maybe 100 – 150 feet or so?) and slowly passed right in front of us. They were so close to us. Imagine standing by a light pole and have flying triangles fly slowly above the light pole passing you.

When we saw them we froze and our eyes got locked on these crafts. Like we were mesmerized by them. All we could do was stare at them as they slowly passed us.

As soon as they passed us and were out of our line of sight we snapped out of it and both looked at each other with eyes wide open like we couldn’t believe what we just saw. From what I remember, the triangles themselves were in the formation of a bigger triangle, for example, 3 triangles in the bottom, 2 triangles above, and 1 triangle at the top. They were forming a big triangle, and each triangle was about the size of a minivan.

They flew completely silent. As a kid my first thought was they were made out of paper, because they flew so close to us and were completely silent, absolutely no noise. In a neighborhood where almost every other neighbor has dogs any thing out of the ordinary would have 1 dog barking, then 2 then 3 then before you know it dogs can be heard on the other side of the neighborhood barking in the the background.

And this night not 1 single dog barked. I have a feeling this craft had some kind of psychological device that prevented us from reacting because even if we would’ve had a camera in our hands ready to snap a picture we wouldn’t of reacted. We just got captured by the sight of these crafts and all we could do is keep our eyes locked on to them and trained on them until they disappeared.

The other weird thing is after that night, me and my cousin did not have a single conversation about what we saw. On top of that we never told anyone. I never told my parents, friends or anyone and neither did he.

Soon after my cousin moved to Minnesota and for about 10 more years we never even discussed it. Until one night I was talking to my wife and my other cousin (she was the sister of the cousin I saw the ufos with) and I talked about it to them for the first time. It was weird because I talked to them like it happened yesterday, it wasn’t something that I had forgotten, or something that I just remembered, it was something that I knew all along what happened but for some reason did not tell anyone.

So I mentioned to them what happened and such and of course they didn’t believe me, so I called up my cousin and just so very casual he described the same event. My gf and my cousin that was there with me didn’t believe us and thought we had preplanned the conversation. Sometimes at night I still look up at the stars and wonder what it was and where it came from.

Saw a very large, silvery gray craft near the medical center area I approximated the date, but I know it was in April on a Friday. I remember because it was the first day of the St. Mary's University Oyster bake, which kicks off Fiesta Week in San Antonio.

My (ex)girlfriend and I had been near my parent's office. She was with me while I was surveilling a claimant at an apartment complex off of Loop 410. At the time, I was working as an investigator for the family business.

I worked on insurance cases: worker's comp and auto liability. We had left the complex and were at my parent's office, which was nearby: ((address deleted)) Executive Center. We'd planned for me to pickup a van there.

I'd drive it over to my parents' house and name deleted))(my girlfriend) would follow in my car. While in the parking lot, we noticed a weird looking object in the sky west of us, in the direction of my parents' place. The object was silver-gray and metallic.

It was shaped like a conical disc seen in profile. It seemed very big. We got into the vehicles after wondering about it briefly.

Since we were going in the same direction as the house (the house is about 1.5 miles from the office, "as the crow flies", but about 2 miles away after all the twists in the road.) I decided to keep my eye on the "thing.

" So did ((name deleted)), as it turned out. All the way home, the thing didn't seem to move. That is, it seemed stationary.

And as we got closer to the house, we could see more of it, as if we were getting closer and closer to being under it. The thing looked to be as high in the air as it was far away from the office. At arms length, I'd say it would be about the size of a silver dollar, maybe bigger.

By the time we got to the house, we were underneath it. Diane had parked behind me. I got out of the car to look up at the "thing".

I could see the underside, and there were structures there, but the underside seemed "hazy". Blurred. And I had the odd feeling that I was forgetting what the underside looked like even while I was looking directly at it.

Weird. Now, the whole time I was driving home, I kept telling myself to stop, go to my car (which Diane was following me in) and grab my damn camera. It's crazy, but for some reason I almost "couldn't.

" Very strange. So, when we arrived at the house, I parked and ran back to my car. Diane was staring up through the windshield at it.

I tried to get her attention, then looked back up and the thing was gone! I was a little pissed! Diane was still staring, at nothing now. When I snapped her out of it, she said that after we parked the thing flashed a light "at" her and was gone. I never heard any more about it.

The house is at an intersection on a major boulevard (Wurzbach) and is very near the medical center. There were lots of other cars around, tooling along Wurzbach. I expected to hear that someone else had seen the thing, but I never heard anything about it.

Oh, when I mention "haze or aura" below, it only applies to the underside of the "thing", which was otherwise clear and sharp. In my opinion, the thing was somewhat elegant in design.

Spherical UFO tracks vehicle This event took place in the year 1993. It’s been 15 years since it occurred so I don’t remember the exact date, but, it was during the spring. I am from Pharr, Texas which is a border town in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas.

When I was in high school I played in a rock-n-roll band. On occasion we would take trips up to Austin and San Antonio to watch rock bands or just sight-see. Our typical route took Highway 281 up north.

On this day we had completed about two-thirds of the trip. We had passed the town of Three Rivers and were about one-third the way from Three Rivers to San Antonio. Back then this tract of road was mostly woods with some ranches and other buildings sparsely populating the land.

I turned to look outside my window for no reason; I being on the passenger end of the car. I looked out above the tree line and there, clear as day, was the UFO. The UFO was a perfect sphere, its surface appeared something liked polished aluminum and its diameter was approximately between 7-8 ft.

At first I thought it might be a smudge or glare on the window because it appeared to be tracking our car perfectly, absolutely matching our speed perfectly. I adjusted my view several times to see if the image was on the window or whether it really was outside. The UFO was indeed real and flying above the tree line, apparently, tracking us.

At this point, I have to admit, the realization that this thing was tracking us frightened me a bit. It’s very difficult to explain the emotions aroused by this kind of occurrence. It was quite alarming.

I continued to watch this UFO for many minutes (at least 10 minutes) and then it suddenly occurred to me to tell my friend driving the car. I had been so caught up in the event I had completely ignored him. When I turned to tell him I realized he was already looking at it.

He later told me that, after noticing my behavior, he had placed the car in cruise control and was switching between watching the road and watching the UFO. As I turned to once again look at the UFO it had disappeared. Amazingly we were quiet for quite a few minutes before we began talking about.

My friend, in particular was quite distressed about the event. We never spoke about it again and I have only told a handful of people about it since. Incidentally, a few years later, another UFO, this one a very large cigar shaped UFO was spotted, not very high in the sky, above my house by some relatives who are also neighbors.

They ran to my house to tell me, they were almost to hysterics, but by the time we went outside the UFO had disappeared. Many UFOs were seen throughout the Rio Grande Valley that year. The local news referred to it as a UFO flap.

That was the first time I heard that term. I have always wondered if the fact that two UFOs were seen around me was just coincidence or not. I have not been abducted or anything of the sort, in fact I don’t believe alien abductions actually occur, but I have to admit, a bit embarrassingly, that, ever so often , I look up to the sky, a little afraid, wondering if anything up there is watching me.

I saw "dancing" round blue circles of light. At the time of the following occurrence, I was 43 years of age. I was and still am a school library clerk.

I was traveling home to Lubbock, TX. I was traveling much later than I planned to be, because of car trouble near Oklahoma City. I have seen "lights" that I have wondered about and some strange things before and since this, but have never been sure enough to state that I thought I'd seen a UFO.

Of the following I AM SURE: During March of 1993 I was traveling south on I40 at approximately 2:00 A.M. I was about 5-10 minutes out of Amarillo, TX.

To the left of the highway, I observed "dancing," round, blue lights. They seemed to fill the skyline to my left. My best guess is that they were about half a mile away.

There was nothing to compare the size with though, so I really have no way of knowing how far away or what size they were. Looking back, I really don't know why I was not alarmed by this. I was simply incredulous! It was such a beautiful and graceful display! They were too perfect and perhaps coordinated to seem anything but choreographed.

I did not hear a thing. It never occurred to me to stop. I just kept on driving and eventually they were "just gone.

" To this day, no one has taken me seriously. I know what I saw though. I have never found an explanation.

SAW 3 BLINKING / JUMPING LIGHTS FOR MORE THAN 3 HOURS Just found this site & the event happened over 10 years ago, so I dont remember the date. AND & tend to be long-winded, sooo.I think it was either late December, early January or March, in either 1992 or 1993.

Sorry for being so vague; I know I was home on some kind of break from college. ****SIDE-NOTE.a few months earlier while I was still at school a friend of mine from Round Rock called & told me that she & her fiancee (also a friend) had seen a UFO (in Round Rock).

She said that when they went outside they immediately saw it because it was the brightest light in the sky; you couldn't miss it. She said they sat there & watched it for over an hour.**** Anyway, so its a few months later & I'm home from school.

My friends (the 2 I mentioned earlier) & I had planned on meeting at his apartment in Round Rock & going to dinner in Austin. Leaving my parents house I was driving North through their neighborhood & turned East onto a main road, driving towards Round Rock. It was already dark outside, I'm guessing about 6:30 or 7:00.

As SOON as I made the turn East onto the main road & looked up, I saw this bright, captivating light. It was in the Northeast. I had completely forgotten about the UFO my friend had told me about earlier.

This light was so bright & out of the ordinary, I watched it for the entire drive to my friends place. The drive took about 5 minutes & the light didn't appear to be moving. It didn't even enter into my mind that this was anything other than a really odd light of some sort.

But it was so interesting, I had planned on mentioning it to my friends. So I got to my friends place & I hadn't seen them in a long time, so we got caught up in talking & I completely forgot about this light. I'm guessing its around 7:00 or so now.

We went into Austin & had dinner. We were driving back to Round Rock (north) on I-35 around 8:00 or 8:30 or so. I think we were somewhere between Pflugerville & Round Rock & my friend said "Oh my god! There it is!" & told me that was the UFO they had seen a few months ago.

It was the same light I had seen earlier that night & I told them that I had been watching it on my way to his apartment. We watched the light as we continued to drive up I-35. We decided to go park on this small hill about half a mile or a mile East of his apartment & watch the light.

It was a quiet area w/no lights around. I dont think it was an overcast night, but I dont remember there being many stars in the sky either. So we back the car up the hill for a better view & we're facing South now.

I dont remember the light being any color, just a bright clear light. It was very dark & the object wasn't close enough to make out a shape. It would blink occasionally in a seemingly random pattern.

As soon as we got there & were sitting still we could see that the light was moving. And MAN, was it MOVING!!! It was jumping all over the place. We couldn't actually see it moving, it must've been moving too fast.

One second it would be in one spot & half a second later it would be to the left or to the right or up or down. It was absolutely not moving in any kind of set direction like an airplane, etc. It was bouncing all over the place.

A little while later another light showed up & then a little while later a 3rd light showed up. They were all in the same general area & were close to each other. They never seemed to get right next to each other though.

It never looked like any of them were close enough to touch. When the 3 lights were there, they seemed to be more active than just the one when it was by itself. They were all blinking & moving around & seemed to be communicating in some way.

They weren't constantly moving though. They would each stay still for a while & then jump around and then stay still again. We sat there & watched the light/lights for about 1 1/2 hours, until they left.

About an hour into watching the lights, my friend & I (not her fiancee) got the VERY distinct feeling that the UFOs knew we were watching them. We both felt like they were extremely upset at us; that we were seeing something that we weren't supposed to be seeing. Guessing I first saw the light around 6:30 or 7:00 and last saw it around 10:00 or 10:30.

Between my drive to his place & the 3 of us sitting in the car, I viewed it for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Haven't seen anything like it since. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that date of incident is approximate.

Yellow light that made a fast, sharp angle turn up through clouds. First, I'm an Air Force brat & am very aware of what jets can and cannot do. Or at least the ones we know about.

Lived very close to DFW airport, on the south side, near American Airlines headquarters. Was walking the dog one evening and to entertain myself, watched the planes setting up to land, from southwest to northeast. (This is DFW's flight pattern or the reverse, depending on the wind.

) It was just after dark. I started watching a light coming in low from the northwest -- opposite the flight pattern. That's what caught my attention.

I first thought it was high enough to still pick up the sun and make it reflects, but no, the sun was down. It was a mild yellow color without any red/green blinking lights that are required as a warning to other planes. The weather was cool and clear with a just few high thin clouds.

I was standing on a hill with trees below my line of sight so there were no obstructions. I heard no noise from the object. It kept coming in my direction in a straight line.

Suddenly, it almost made a 45 degree angle turn, shot up through those high thin clouds and was gone. I could barely turn my head fast enough to watch it shoot up through the clouds. No aircraft I have ever seen (1) turned that sharp, and (2) moved that fast.

An Object In The Sky Over I-35 Texas in March of 1993. Like others, I just found this website. So I decided to look up a month I too saw something I could not explain.

On March 11, 1993, 2 friends and I were heading out for spring break, first to Austin, TX and then to South Padre Island. I looked at the reports for March 93 and found, "I SAW 3 BLINKING / JUMPING LIGHTS FOR MORE THAN 3 HOURS". I can’t say it was the same object, however, I know it was the same stretch of highway and at about the same hour.

Heading south from Fort Worth, TX, between Waco and Austin, we saw something in the sky that we cannot explain. I know, 13 years have pasted but this experience, I’ll never forget. We saw an object moving East to West at about 8:30 - 9:00 PM, a strange object with segment of lights blinking in a row.

We first noticed it from a distance as it was moving from our left to right at a slow rate. Shortly after, we saw that other vehicles have pulled over on I-35 to watch this object in the sky. I-35 runs North and South, so the object appeared from the east and moved over I-35 to the West, it wasn’t moving very fast at all.

Then from the South East, a huge bright light appeared, but that turned out to be a helicopter flying fast towards the direction of the object. When I look back to the object, it was nowhere in site. We know a helicopter in the sky, but we could never identify that object.

This night has always been the strangest experience of my life.

SUMMARY: Family traveling home along a rural farm road spotted unusual lights/object in the sky moving slowly from east to west and pulled over to investigate. As we were traveling home along a rural farm road we spotted an unusual light in the sky moving slowly toward the road from east to west. It didn't move like any familiar airplane, so we pulled over to watch for a minute.

The object was shaped similar to a Stealth, except with a thinner, smoother head-on profile, and with much more bluntly squared-off wingtips and nose. It moved extremely slowly, no faster than a motorized hangglider, and completely without engine noise, although it was at a relatively low altitude. (below low-hanging clouds.

) As it passed over our vehicle, its span covered the length of the Suburban. It had a very large white spotlight at its nose and two bright lights at each wingtip. The underside had many patterned rows of small colored lights, with an amber double row down the center.

The underside gave the impression of being textured or plated. There was absolutely no engine noise, even though the craft was very low and very slow. After pass!ing overhead, two or three small, blue "sparkles" dropped from the craft.

Not quite believing what we had witnessed, and not being fervent UFO watchers, we decided not to report the sighting. Witnesses were myself, a high school library director, my husband, an industrial chemist, and my 15-yr-old son.

Craft about the size of a 747 with five white lights, as if the craft was pentagon-shaped, that moved very slowly and made no noise. Worked for State Prison in guard tower-60' off the ground. There are 6 manned towers.

The 6 officers, including myself, passed the time by talking via 49mhz radio. Toward the east, someone's attention was caught by a very bright light a few feet above the horizon. It looked like landing lights on the front of a 747 heading toward us.

A few remarks were made and subject was changed. Apx 15mins later one of the guys mentioned that the lights were still there but were closer. We commented on how it should have been way gone by now (since we believed it to be a commercial jet.

) We watched it for another 15 mins and could see that it was moving very slowly, like a helo. The night sky was crystal clear and moon-less. No city lights or anything to dim the view at the sky.

The craft got close enough that we could see 5 lights, each one as if on the corner of a pentagon. The craft came directly overhead, no sound at all. We thought it possible to be 5 helos in formation, but found it wierd that we did not hear them.

When it passed over, we saw it to be one craft. We could not see anything between the lights and did not realize it was a single craft until it blocked the view of stars as it passed over. We could not tell how high it was but agreed that it was as large as a jumbo jet and flying at an altitude that private planes usually fly.

We watched for another 20-30 mins until it was out of view. The the lights on the rear of the craft looked exactly like the front. Bright white lights.

No flashing lights. No exhaust. No sound.

It was triangular in shape, massive in size and eerily quiet. I was a State Trooper working the night shift and was patrolling US83 south of Canadian, TX. It was around 10:30PM local time.

I always had a citizens band radio on and had been listening to two truck drivers enjoying a conversation. It was an unusually warm evening for a winter night and I was wearing short sleeves and had the car window cracked a bit as I slowly patrolled northbound. As this is the Texas panhandle area, the land is fairly flat, but with some rolling hills every so often.

I could see the two trucks ahead of me and all three of us were driving north. The two trucks were approximately 1 - 1.5 miles ahead of me.

As we neared the Washita Creek bridge on US83, the road dipped down into a little valley. I lost sight of the trucks as they dipped lower than me. One of the drivers was talking away when he suddenly stopped and said "What the hell is that"? I heard the second driver say "What are you.

oh hell!". The radio was silent for a few seconds and then I heard the second trucker say "I nearly ran into you when you stopped. Are you pulling over?" To which the other trucker said "Hell yes.

I want to see it". By this time I was starting down the incline toward the creek and I could see one truck stopped and on the side of the road and the other pulling past it to park in front of it. I still didn't know what they were talking about but started slowing down.

I crossed the bridge and at that point I saw the driver of the truck just in front of me standing in the middle of US83. He was looking west and upward. This was the first time that I realized a very bright light was shining onto the ground from what appeared to be a very large dark object which seemed to be about 1,000 feet in the air and maybe a mile and a half away.

I remember thinking this because I'd been down the dirt road that runs from this location west and was fairly familiar with the topography here.and I could make out it was over another hill. I was afraid I'd be run over from behind so I started to park my patrol car on the shoulder beside the first truck.

I could see the second driver running to the first one and pointing at the object. At this point, a small passenger car topped the hill just north of us and started slowing down.probably from seeing the two trucks and my car parked there.

But as the car passed by I saw the brake lights come on and the car slightly screeched to a stop right in the middle of the south-bound lane. There was a female driver and she stepped out of her car, right foot still inside but standing outside the car, and was looking at the object. I asked her to quickly move out of the road.

She turned to me and said "What is that?" I told her I didn't know, but to please move. She did so quickly and then came back to us. Now there were the two truckers, the lady and myself standing on the shoulder of the southbound lane.

I couldn't hear a sound from the craft but could see a immensely bright beam of light shining straight down. The light didn't sway back and forth like a search light or anything.it just shone straight down.

Suddenly I was aware of the fact that the object appeared to be moving toward us very slowly. This was because I realized the sheer dimensions of the craft. It was a moonless night.

or as best as I can remember it was moonless. Thousands of stars in a totally black sky made it very easy to see that the object was indeed moving toward us. It was triangular in shape.

That was obvious almost from the start. The point was forward as if you'd imagine a triangle being mobile and one of the points being the front of the object. (I hope that makes sense) There was absolutely no sound coming from the craft.

Not even a whisper. I realized no one was talking.I think we were completely confounded by what we were seeing.

After around five minutes, the object had gotten to a point that I felt it was within a mile of us. I still had the strong sensation that it was higher above us than it appeared. That's when the bright light simply shut off and it was easier to see the outline of the craft.

The mere size of the craft was incredible. If my references are even near what I think they are, I'd estimate the size of the craft to be at least 1000' per side. It was massive.

The reason I use this word is two fold. One is from the dimensions of it. But the other is this.

As the craft neared being almost directly over us, I remember feeling weight.felt something heavy on me. It also seemed as if there was a haze around the object.

just barely off of the surface that seemed to make the stars near the edge flicker before they were occulted by the object itself. I also remember realizing I was holding my breath. And although we couldn't hear anything, one of the truckers said, "Do y'all feel that?" It felt as though everything, the road, the air, us.

everything seemed to be vibrating. Up to this point, I don't think what I felt was fear.just amazement.

But when the craft was directly over us, something happened. I was staring straight up at it, and I remember at this point that the women started sobbing and ran away to her car. She left before I ever said another word to her.

The object was black. Much blacker than the sky. This may have been an illusion from all the stars in the background, but it was darker to me.

But as I looked up, I suddenly saw a circle appear.just forward of what would be the center of the object. This circle didn't light up.

It became darker.as if there was absolutely no light shining from it or reflected from it. Without a doubt it was darker than the rest of the craft.

The craft literally stopped directly above us. One of the drivers asked me if I should call for help. I told him I didn't know what I'd say.

The thought did cross my mind, but I was thinking they'd be thinking I was crazy back at the Sheriff's Office. The craft then started pivoting above us.with the point moving clockwise in relation to me until it was pointed in a generally north-west direction.

Then it began moving again. I remember hearing one of the truckers talking, but my ears felt as if they were going to pop. Again, there wasn't a sound from it.

but a tremendous feeling of weight or pressure.sort of like when you dive deeply into the water. That kind of feeling.

As the craft moved off slowly, one of the drivers said something about driving to the top of the next hill to see it more clearly. He started to turn away and at that moment the craft sped up noticeably, then shot off to the northwest in a matter of 3-4 seconds. The drivers asked me what we should do and I told them I didn't know.

I don't know what we saw, what we experienced. One of the drivers, the one that said he wanted to see it from the hilltop, ran to his truck and drove north. I ran to my patrol car and got in, passed him on the way north and pulled over at the top of the rise.

We all got out again but couldn't see anything. I remember my ears were ringing like mad. Looking back, I think this was side effects of an adrenaline rush.

I've been in shootings, high-speed pursuits and numerous other tension-filled moments and I always have that reaction. After some time, we all got in our vehicles and left. I went straight home.

I undressed and took a shower. I still could see the object in my mind.and am absolutely convinced about the darker circle inside the craft.

I then sat down at my desk in the study and sketched out the craft on a piece of paper. I then went into my bedroom where my wife was asleep. As I lay down, she rolled over to kiss me goodnight but stopped and asked "Have you been fighting a grass fire or something?" I said no and asked why.

She told me I smelled like burned grass or hair. I told her what I'd seen just an hour earlier. She knew I was sincere.

The next morning, I got out of bed and walked into the bathroom. As I looked in the mirror, I saw that my face looked like I had a very light sunburn. Not deep red.

just a little blushed. I looked down and most of the hair on both arms looked as if I'd been synged with a flame. I called my wife and she came in and gasped at how I looked.

We looked in the bed and there was a mass of burned hair on my pillow and the sheets. I say burned.I mean it was very brittle and it and I still smelled like I'd been fighting a fire.

That was 12 years ago. I still see it in my mind and I sometimes dream about it. I've never told anyone other than my dearest and most trusted friends.

I have no doubt that what I saw was real. I have no doubt that it was huge, it was manned, and it was being intelligently operated. I'm not assuming anything.

that it was an alien craft, a military craft or whatever. But what I saw moved with great stealth when I first saw it and was able to reach an unbelievably high speed in the blink of an eye. So.

as you're reading this, you may think I'm nuts. But this is the single-most bizarre thing I've ever experienced, and I'm absolutely convinced it was real. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that date of sighting is approximate.
