Large Triangle over Austin Texas 1979 In the winter of '79, a friend of mine and I were walking along the campus of The University of Texas in Austin. It was dark out, being aprox. 9:00 in the evening.

I would estimate around 30 people were also in the area that I could see with folks on both sides of the street we were on. What got my attention was the whole area lighting up suddenly as if someone had turned on amber colored floodlights that illuminated the street and buildings as if it were suddenly day. The origin of the light came from above us.

There, hovering above the UT Tower was a triangular shaped craft aprox. 100 yards in length with amber colored glowing half-bulbs at each corner underside of the craft. It made no noise and hovered for about 20-30 seconds.

Everyone on the street saw it and we all pointed at it. I was very excited and the feeling I had was one of pure elation. The object moved silently towards the south and downtown area of Austin and then seemed to accelerate and was out of sight within a fraction of a second.

The next day on the local rock radio station KLBJ, they announced that if anyone had seen anything unusual the night before it was because the Air Force was testing something. I later became a weather technician for the Texas Air Guard and even though I was already familiar with most military craft I became an expert at recognizing all atmospheric phenomena and different types of aircraft as was required by my job. I do not believe nor have I ever believed that this huge, silent golden triangle was of a terran origin.

I have only found one other witness online to this event who saw it 30 miles to the north of Austin and he stated that he saw several small shapes flying around the triangle as it headed south towards the Austin area. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that date of sighting is approximate. PD)).

Triangle craft flying over Haltom City, Tx. 11/01/1979 Triangle Sighting Haltom City, Texas Date 11/01/1979 (close approximation of date) I was 11 years old in 1979 playing in the front yard at night with my brothers at a friends house in Haltom City, Tx. After we tired ourselves out they went into the house, I stayed outside to sit on a front lawn chair facing east.

While there I glanced up and saw this triangle craft moving silently with what looked like port holes on each corner and some kind of circle dome in the center. It moved like a boat swaying back and forth on water. Heading west very slowly with no lights on.

I watched it for about a minute or more it seems because I thought there was something wrong with it, like it might crash. The city lights lit up the under side of it because I saw it in very good detail. ( may have been 2000 to 3000 feet up).

I got excited and ran into the house to tell everyone that there is a UFO flying over and must come out to see. But they all laughed saying there is no such thing. I went back out to look for it but didnt see it, and then a few seconds later a Helicopter appears and is flying around lower than the triangle, shining its spot light on the ground.

I thought to myself, this is all too weird and was time for me to go back into the house. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. PD)).

Shining Bright Light, Oval Shaped, no sound This has been on my mind for over two decades. I was a young boy apox 11-12 years old. It was toward the of the end of summer as the days were beginning to get shorter.

I remember playing in the front yard. I lived in the Oaks. Its mostly mid-class families.

The sky was gray and somewhat cool as it gets in Texas towards the evening time. I was on the corner of where our yard where we lived at Briar Oaks and well the cross street was Carter Creek, well it turns into Carter Creek at the Curb by the Royal Oaks Racket Club use to be. I saw a Bright light hovering above our yard.

It as I could tell somewhat oval shaped as the light resemble a floucent light color but much brighter. I describe it as oval shape as that was how the light extended. I watched it for- it felt like a long time probably between 10 to 15 min.

It didn't appear to be very high maybe 1 to 2 football fields high. I wanted to get a ladder and get a closer look. After several minutes of watching it, I remember my neck hurting from staring into the sky for so long.

There was no sound and the craft was just hovering with No moment. I remember running inside a telling my mom. I ask if we had some binoculars to get a closer look.

She said "No" we didn't. I told her she had to come outside to see it. Once back outside it was gone.

Later that night I remember telling my mom that we had to watch KBTX Channel 3 to see if anyone else saw it. The weather man did say something. I thought that was awesome.

He stated that several other people called in that night about a bright light in the sky. He laughed, joking and said we all hope it was just a weather balloon with no real explanation. I hope someone in that neighorhood who saw what I did will also post there experience that day.

I am very surpised with the number of calls the news recieved no one else has placed anything on this website. I am currently 34 years old and been serving in the US Army for over 15 years. Everything from that day has kept me wondering for a very long time.

Fast moving, silent, blue and red orb seen over Lake Conroe, Texas. We were fishing on Lake Conroe for crappie about midnight in early fall. We had a lantern out over the water to attract the fish.

It was dead quiet and no breeze whatsoever. My father-in-law and I shifted around in our small boat and ended up virtually back to back (east to west). The fish had quit biting for some reason, so we tried to get comfortable and be real quiet hoping the fishing frenzy we had just experienced would return.

My eyes started wandering from my fishing rod when I looked up and saw directly over me an "orb" moving incredibly fast. It was perfectly round and I mean perfectly. It was divided in half by bright "colors".

I believe the blue was in the front (or the direction it was heading)and the red in back. Perception wise, it looked about half the size of the way a full moon looks to the naked eye when it close to the horizon. It was almost directly above me, possibly a little to my right or south.

I watched it fly by at an incredible and steady speed. What made the experience even more awesome was that it appeared just above the clouds. There were a few small cumulus type clouds slowly passing overhead.

Each time the object passed over one of these clouds, it lit the cloud up and turned it a beautiful red and blue (the whole cloud) for about a fraction of a second. To see those clouds light up one by one as the object streaked by was unbelievable. What made it seem even more eerie was the fact the there was absolutely no sound from the object and everything else remained perfectly still.

It disappeared on the horizon somewhere pass the trees and I just sat there in disbelief. It was then that my father-in-law finally broke the silence and said something about how "God really knew what he was doing.etc.

And I broke in and said "Did you see that". I immediately told him that we had just seen a UFO and he said he wasn't sure what it was, but we both agreed it was an awesome sight. Before we could discuss it much further.

The wind picked up and clouds rolled in! at an a larming rate. We barely got the engine started when all hell broke loose and we almost got blown off the lake. We managed to get to shore safely in a full blown thunderstorm.

I've brought up the incident to my (now x-father-in-law) a couple of times thru the years and all he does is shake is head and agree that what ever it was, it was “sure somethin’”.

Unknown Object appear ,changing colors moving Southeast direction over Ft Worth ,TX. There was a circle flaming object, behind us located about 2 and half stories in a tree, as it was watching us, the colores where orange,gold,yellow,red, then it suddenly rose from the tree and aheaded in a northwest direction.this object dia.

was 5 to 7 feet in dia. Less then 60 second later, a second object appear,The length of two Ft. Worth water towers ,and the height of 3 stories bldg.

there was an haze around it, which change colors, there was also an oval-shape cricle in the middle it an a rotating light, colors where ,red and blue.there was no engine sounds,or any noise of any kind.Note: just before it appear,and all the insects,cats,birds and dogs all became silence.

This event took place late in the evening with a full moon present.

Spinning circular black UFO with changing lights. When I was about 6 yrs old, my father, mother, sister, and myself were riding in the car heading towards a city park at about 5 pm in Laredo, Texas. My sister who at the time was 11, pointed towards the sky and said look at that, as I looked out her passenger side window I noticed a black circular disc, with changing lights, confused at what I was looking at, I asked my parents pointing to the sky," what kind of plane is that", my mother looked out her window and yelled at my father to stop the car.

My father not having a clue as to what we were looking at slammed on the brakes. Looked out the window and asked my mother, "is that a flying saucer?" I remember the expression on my parents faces, they looked as if they had seen a ghost, more fear than confussion. They didn't get out of the car, let alone, allow us to get out, but we just stayed there looking at this thing in the sky, but it stayed still in that same spot, probably about half a block in front of us and 12 stories high, and it spinned at a very low pace, but it did have changing colored bright lights.

Then it began to travel towards the park we were heading too so, i'm assuming curiousity from my parents, we followed it, and sure enough it hung around right above the park, at the same distance from us as we saw it earlier on the road. On the street it probably stayed up there for a good 15 minutes and then at the park for a good 20 to 30 minutes. Other people at the park were seeing this with us, and then it just slowly bega to go higher and higher until it vanished from sight, at this point it was getting darker, so the lights were visibly brighter.

Then we left, talked about through the years, but recently I brought it, and for some strange reason, my parents nor my sister seem to remember this event, which makes no sense to me, because we talked about this happening through the years.But now no one seems to remember. And I know i'm not crazy, and I would not invent this in my head.

I just wanted to report this because I wa! nted to see if anyone else had a similar experience like this. Thank you .I am also submitting a sample drwaing of what I saw.

OVAL TO ROUND IN SHAPE LARGE VERY BRIGHT I CANNOT REMEMBER THE EXACT DATE OR TIME, HOWEVER I SAW THIS DESCRIPTION FROM YOUR WEBSITE AND THE TIME FRAME AND LOCATION DESCRIBE EXACTLY WHAT I SAW. Low object over roof of house My sister and I saw an object one night in the summer.I'm not sure about the date or time,just that it was night.I only saw the under side and it looked gray metal to me.

As far as I can remember.My sister said what she saw had colored lights all over it.She said it sounded like a bunch of engines roaring it was so loud.

She wasn't sure what the shape was.I can't remember hearing sound at all.It happened a long time ago and she told me it not anything she had ever seen before.

in the backyard. I looked up and saw what I thought was a falling star. It came to a stop and hovered.

Then it moved again. Then we noticed approximately 12-15 of these objects ( which looked like stars) moving across the sky. We watched them for about two hours.

It was mid-may, 1979. I was in the backyard with my family, and I looked up to the sky. I saw what appeared to be a falling star (meteor or meteorite) but contrary to the typical behavior of falling stars, this one came to a stop, and hovered.

It looked just like a star. Then, to my surprise, another "point of light" moved across the path of the first object. Altogether, my family and I watched 12-15 of these objects move around in the sky for approximately 2 hours.

We called my Aunt, who lived a couple of miles away, and told her to go outside and watch them. She went outside, but was unable to see anything other than the normal night sky. We called the police non-emergency number, and they said it was probably fireworks or airplanes.

Please note: These objects were extremely high in altitude and made no noise. There were too many of them for them to be satellites. Later that summer, my mother was describing the incident to an old family friend ( a lutheran minister) who lived in WIsconsin.

He told my mother that on that night he had been fishing on a lake in Wisconsin, and he had seen THE EXACT SAME THING.

Strange craft follows car into town, later family member see same craft. When I was about 7 years old, I had my first sighting of an unexplained craft. My mother and I were driving from Hunt, TX into Kerrville, TX to buy something at the grocery store one night.

As soon as we came out of the tree-covered road from our house I spotted a gloriously beautiful, long, diamond-shaped craft right outside the car window. It was on the other side of the treeline from the road, but clearly visible as it couldn't have been but a few feet from the road. Instead of sharp angles, it resembled more like two cones with their bases put together.

It was maybe the size of a grain silo in diameter. It was covered in lights, with seemingly no rhyme or reason to the layout. The lights were different colors and flashed in a seeming non-pattern.

I turned to tell my mother to look out the window and noticed she was scared to death. We were driving about 80 or so, as fast as she could get our car to go, and she was froggy. Her reaction frightened me, and I asked her agian to look.

She told me to ignore it, there was nothing out there, stop looking at it. Such an odd reply, so I ignored her and looked anyway. This craft followed us into town, and just before we hit any traffic, it hovered for a few moments then almost winked out of existance.

There was no noise, no odd feelings, no "sense" of being watched. It was just there, mere yards from us for miles. My mother briefed me on not telling anyone anything, and that it was my imagination, but she was deathly afraid of something.

To this day she denies it. We never told anyone. However, about a week later my brother comes home from night fishing all breathless and excited.

He was about ten at the time. His story went like this: He was down on the low water crossing with a friend and they were packing up their fishing supplies. He states the coolest thing happened next.

I huge craft appeared out of nowhere right above them on the low water crossing. He described my sighting to the letter, and when he did I looked at my mother a! nd she w ent pale but looked at me to shut me up. So I did.

He then went to say that it hovered there, and he said there was no actual sound, but you could feel a faint buzzing in your body. It then, he claimed, emitted a very bright, foggy, blue light onto him and his friend and he said it felt warm and tingly. The best description for me to give you would be like a sonogram treatment after about 30 minutes of continuous treatment.

He said he still heard no sound, doesn't remember anything actually happeneing other than the tingly light. Then all of a sudden the light was gone and the craft just vanished into thin air. We have had a few episodes in Texas as children, together.

But to my knowledge I have seen no unusual craft in my adult life. No one in the family will admit this now, but all three of us witnessed something interesting. Just wondered how many other people have seen a similar craft as mine and where.

Mothership and three saucers left behind This happenened in 1979, I do not recall the month, it was 3:00 am spring i think. My husband had the alarm for that time to get ready for work, no telling how long it was out there. We saw how bright the moon was, we layed there for a couple of minutes all of a sudden it moved in a certain pattern, we watched for about fifteen minutes, he said he had to go to work, so I watched, then, three objects came out of the left top and flew down , then the big moon object moved the same pattern as the first time and it left like a blink of eye.

It stayed up there a long time in between all this. there is a lot more to this, so much happened at the time and after I strongly feel like more happened, I can't believe that no one has reported this as I have checked alot of stories in that time and nowhere is this mentioned I can't for the world think we were the only ones that seen this event! This has bothered me for a long time, I am 59 now and I feel some one out there knows something a black helicopter was our residence and I knew they knew and it worried us then. If you know anything PLEASE let me know, it will bring me some kind of relief.

Fast moving light that stopped, moved backwards and took off again. One early spring morning as I was waiting for school to open I witnessed a glowing blue light in the sky. I was usually the first student at school and remember many mornings waiting for the janitor or the principal to open the school.

On this particular morning I was alone in the side of the school hanging around a ramp when all of a sudden I saw a fast moving blue light go by. It appeared that it might have been a shooting star, but as it went by it stopped moved backwards and then took off again. The light was round in shape and it left a white streak as it traveled.

I saw a grey rectangular patch against blue sky, thru binoculars. While watching an ultra light aircraft demonstration, using binoculars, I saw almost directly overhead a light grey rectangular shape against the blue sky. I was looking almost straight up.

The rectangular shape had clearly defined edges. The long part of the rectangle was oriented east/west. I looked back at the shape several times in the next few minutes.

I always located it quickly in the same spot. It looked like a patch on the sky. There were other spectators around, but none with binoculars.

I didn't mention it to anyone, because the demonstration had everyone's attention. After a few minutes, I became very concerned that there was going to be a violent accident with the ultra light aircraft, because the pilot was trying aerobatics in the flimsy craft. I left in my vehicle.

I have never mentioned this incident to anyone, nor have I ever again seen anything similar. I am a 69 year old retired banker, a former computer progammer and I was a control tower operator in the Air Force in the late 1940's.
