Very bright, fast moving light which appeared to circle the local radio tower and speed away I was sitting on my Dad's back porch with a work buddy around 10 pm when we both noticed a bright light moving steadily across the sky from the north towards town. The light then accellerated very quickly past the radio tower and made a "checkmark" turn back to the NW at a very high rate of speed. There was no sound comming from that direction.

The object was about 2 miles away (guess). We were both shocked and ran inside. I immediately called the Sheriff's office to see if anyone else reported it.

They had not received any calls at that time (within 3 minutes of viewing). Dates given are questionable as it was so long ago.

Moving star plays connect the dots. The year was 1980, the year my husband and I met. We were at his parents house and he and I decided take a blanket and go sit out on the yard to look at the stars and have some privacy.

I remember we wound up wrapping the blanket around us because the night was chilly. The sky was dark and we could see plenty of stars. However, the one that caught our attention was the one that was moving.

At first, we thought it might be a plane. But then I realized that was imposible because it went from one end of the sky to the other in a matter of about 8 or 9 seconds then would come to a dead stop, change directions and traverse the sky again. The star seemed to be moving as if it were connecting dots, like in a coloring book.

We noticed it first near the northwest horizon, then moving in a straight line it traveled directly above us and ended over in the Southeast, then it stopped and started again moving West, then it connected dots mainly overhead after that which made us wander if somehow it knew we were watching it. We didn't know what it was but agreed it had to be otherworldly. The moving star carried on for so long that after a while, we finally lost interest in watching it.

We were in a boat fishing at Lake Ray Hubbard, heading toward north end of lake. We noticed an object hovering just above a water tower on the east shoreline. It was dark and appeared triangular shaped.

As we were returning from the north, we looked at the water tower and the object was gone. Just at that moment I looked back toward the north, and coming straight toward us at an altitude of 100-200 feet was a triangular shaped object. I would guess that each side of the triangle was about 50 feet, and that the object was traveling about 20mph.

It passed directly overhead, and what was spectacular about it is that we cut the engine, and there was no sound from the object. Secondly, all around the edges were red, white and blue lights, pulsating intensely. We watched it as it slowly moved out of sight to the south.

When we got back to the marina, we walked out on a dock to watch the sky. Lo and behold, we looked west toward the Dallas skyline and saw three of these objects sitting still in the sky in a triangular formation. Angle was about 25%.

I was very excited and expected the radio stations and newspapers to be full of sighting reports, but never saw or heard a word. It was quite an experience. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.

Strange shape shifting craft of pure light energy. It was my birthday and at about 10PM I was walking outside my house when I noticed a curious light formation in the sky. The shape was indescribable, it had a form that shifted with time, first a circle, now a trapezoid, etc.

It appeared to be pure light energy. It was zooming around high in the sky at incredible speeds, it then seemed to fly up and out of Earth's atmosphere. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.

Sphere, No lights, moving through neighborhoods above tree tops, over busy streets in Houston in 1980. I would describe the sphere as being 2xlarger than a bowling ball, matt finish, with a cylinder on top with a short thin bar protruding from it, and around the circumference of the cylindar four thin anntennae. It moved silently in a straight line and performed flawless angled turn of direction without change in momentum.

I believe it stayed on the same plane and speed was approximately the speed of a car going down a residential street. The closest it came to me was perhaps 20 to 50 feet away. It altitude was approximately 25 to 35 ft above the ground.

A flock of black birds split to fly around it. When it reached my position it continued in another direction, approximately a 35 to 45 degree angle, until it was out of site. I was alone, but it traveled over a very populated area and traffic.

Someone else has to have seen it. I've written this today because I just read an entry of 2002 asking someone who may recognize a picture of a sphere found in the red clay in the woods near Huntsville, AL in 1984. I saw my object in 1980, although I don't remember the day and exact time of my encounter.

It is similar to that, but with some noticeable differences. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that date of sighting is approximate. PD)).

" Shortly, thereafter, this UFO passed overhead. It had not lights and made no sound. I could not determine how big it was because I had no frame of reference and had never seen it before.

We both jumped up and tried to look at it for as long as we could before it left our sight. It was one of the most thrilling events of my life. The amazing thing is that it is as if we made contact -- I think we did.

Full Report Text:

Two slow moving luminous flying craft observed along a high power transmission line in East TX. In the winter of 1980 my older brother and I were camping out at a hunting lease in East TX, located South of Sam Rayburn Lake. It was late in the night and the sky was clear and moonless.

We where parked in a jeep cherokee near the edge of a high power line clearing. The area is far away from any cities and is very forested. My brother and I were talking and listining to the radio.

We both noticed two low, slow moving lights about two miles away. The lights where visible in the distance because we were looking down (parallel) the high power line. After obseving the lights for a couple of minites we both ask each other if the other had noticed the lights.

They were moving parallel with the power line and would soon be very near to us. At one time a beam of light shinning towards the ground came from one craft. We both became very frightend and I cranked up the jeep and drove hastily out of the treeless area and parked about 50 feet in the woods.

We both grabbed our guns. I had never been so scared. I was shaking.

I turned off the engine and rolled the window down. Looking straight up I saw one of the craft had moved straight above us. It was about 60 feet above the tree tops.

The bottom of the craft looked very different. I recall a triangular pattern of amber lights with some long neon tube type lights also. The craft hovered above us for a few minutes.

It made a continuos shhhhh sound. I thought we were about to be ether dead. But the craft moved slowly away keeping the same altitude.

Fear left us as we figured, if the craft wanted to harm us it would have when it was above us. Our mood changed from complete fear to courisity. We put down our guns and ran into the opening under the high power lines for a better view.

We noticed one craft had stayed back in stationary flight position while the other craft made a circular horizontal flight pattern which had taken it over the jeep and near the club house where the only other people where for a 10 to 15 mile radius. The roving craft returned near the stationary one and both hovered for a few minites. They both looked like to very bright spherical lights aganst a very star filled night sky.

No blinking lights where seen. Then as we looked on hoping they would take us for a ride, they both shot silently into the upper atmoshere like a shooting star in reverse. This event blew our minds.

We did not tell anybody for a couple of years. I was 16 years old at the time and my brother was in his mid 20's. He was a private pilot at the time.

He knew the craft where way below stall speed for a conventional non helicopter type of flying craft. I think they used some type of EMF propulsion system.

A Falling Star That Changed its Mind because it went back UP! A weekend in late August 1980 is one, which three of us in the group will never forget. It was our second and final night camping in the Guadalupe National Park near Pine Springs, Texas with part of our Boy Scout Troop from Midland, Texas. I was an Assistant Scout Master at the time and I worked as a News Reporter/Anchor at a radio station in Midland.

There were 4 adults and approximately 15 scouts camping out under the open sky on cots and open pick-up truck beds. Two Scouts, about to become Eagle rank, and myself had settled in the back of a pick-up truck bed staring at the clear Eastern sky full of stars. Best as I recall it was on August 16th close to 23:30 hours.

I suddenly saw what appeared to be a "Falling Star" drop down in the Northeast. It came in at a fairly moderate speed and I thought how great it was to see such a bright falling meteorite approximately two to three miles away and guessed its circumference at 100 feet. This size of the ball of light seemed too large for a meteorite.

I was a little alarmed that there was not a trailing light tail and its brightness was not decreasing which would indicate burn out. I was even more alarmed when it dead stopped approximately a thousand feet above the horizon. It then begin to move South, stopping then moving North a little then moving South as well as changing some in elevation.

This jerking motion occurred over 5 times until it dead stopped for a few seconds approximately 4 to 5 miles South of where its point of entry had been. The light remained the same size whiteness and intensity the entire time. There was no sound heard.

It began its same jerking motion back toward the North where it dead stopped a few seconds at the point it had stopped after entry. Suddenly it went straight up at a speed that only recently I can barely compare to the Stealth airplane going straight up at an air show. But this ball of light did this from a dead stop! The white ball of light accelerated straight up at seemingly impossible speed and disappeared out of sight in approximately 4 seconds.

During this observation I heard myself say,” What the heck,,, is,,, that?" One Boy Scout said, "I dunno?!!" and the other Boy Scout said, I dunno either but lets not tell anyone cause no one will ever believe us!" The next morning I ask if anyone had seen anything unusual in the sky and not one of the others said they had. When they ask why I ask, I just said, "Oh, just wondering." I considered our observation a personal experience and never reported it on the air as news and never told a soul until the past couple of years, this now being 2004.

I never saw a UFO before that night and I have not seen any since. ((NUFORC Note: Time and date are approximate. PD)).

observed a very long craft with a cheveron front. Front of object had several dim lights, craft very large, moving slowly over pasture In the late summer of 1980, a friend and I were sitting on the trunk of my car at approx. 11:30 p.

m. My home was located in Brenham, Tx,-right off of the highway, ( sorry, can't remember which highway) and was surrounded by cow pasture. We were just looking at the stars.

and suddenly we saw a strange craft moving slowly through the night sky, directly above us. We thought at first that the object was a blimp-soon it was quite obvious that this was no blimp, plane, etc. The object was very, very long.

at the very least one football field in length. The front of the object was chevron/triangle shaped, with dim lights all along the rim of the front. Object was very slow and seemed to be flying at low altitude.

The oddest thing was the complete absence of sound-any object that low, that large would have to make sound of some sort, but this thing was totally silent-almost like a vaccum- everything was incredibly silent. We watched this for approx. 15-20 min, in total shock, not really believing what we were seeing.

We never reported it, never mentioned it to anyone-as we were young, ( 20) and knew that we would never be believed. To this day, I believe we saw an alian craft--I am now in my 40's and have never again seen anything that large be able to fly.and especially be totally soundless.

I was coming home from the store. It was dark and I had parked along way from my apartment. As I was walking towards the apartment I looked up and saw this round saucer just above the roof across from my apartment.

As I was looking I saw white lights around the craft and blue flashing lights with red in the middle. I was scared because I couldn't believe was I was seeing. I must have stood there about two minutes trying to decide what to do.

I ran upstair to open my door and get a camera just inside and when I came back it was gone. I did a sketch of what I saw and lost it, but I still remember it and the more I thought about it the more I believe what I saw was very real. I checked around the next day to see if anyone else reported it but it seems I was the only one who saw it.

Conroe, TX

Full Report Text:

A speeding craft and several lost hours During this time I worked as an Insurance/Anuity Sales Person. I lived in Dallas but was working on assignment in the Houston area. It was Thursday night around 8:00 to 9:00 pm and I was driving back to Dallas (home) on Interstate 45.

I had just passed through Conroe going north when my Ford Pick-Up just quit running, at 70 mph all the idiot lights came on and that was it. I coasted as far as I could then finally stopped knowing that 2 associates of mine would be coming by momentarily on their way back to Dallas and I'd be rescued. I turned the emergency flashers on and went back and lowered the tailgate of the truck to sit on while I watched for my associates.

After 10 minutes or so I looked up and noticed for the first time how beautiful the stars were out in the country without all the city lights to block them from view. I kept looking up until my neck started to hurt and then I remembered a 4 ft section of plywood that I had laying down in the bed of the truck. I also had several cement blocks among the other junk that seemed to always occupy the truck bed.

I quickly got up and arranged the blocks so that they were under the plywood, holding it up at about a 30 degree elevation so I could lay down to look at the stars and still see the oncoming traffic. I laid down and began looking up at the stars. I had been watching the sky for about 30-45 minutes when I first saw it.

It (the object) was really nothing more than a very bright light that appeared to be 10 to 20,000 ft. up. Nothing unusual, right? Nothing could be further from the truth.

I watched this. thing.for what seemed to be about 30 minutes or so and during that time it went across the sky in mere seconds.

it made right angle turns.it got bigger and brighter and then dim again, it crossed the sky once more from east to west then in mid-flight just seemed to disappear. I mean one second it was there, then the next second it was GONE! Now up until this point in my life I had not ever thought much about UFO's however I was beginning to re-evaluate my way of thinking.

Anyway, with that over my attention now was re-directed to watching for my associates and getting rescued from my predicament. As I sat quietly and watched for my friends it became increasingly clear that there was far less traffic on this road than there should be at 10:00 pm at night on an Interstate Highway, 60 miles out of Houston. Up until this point it had not dawned on me to look at my watch since I knew roughly what time it was, but when I did look at my watch I got the shock of my life.

IT WAS 1:45 AM. IT WAS ALMOST 4 HOURS LATER! Reality started to set in at this point.I must have fallen asleep and missed my associates.

but I DID NOT FALL ASLEEP! I REMEMBER EVERY LAST DETAIL OF EVERYTHING THAT HAD HAPPENED. This missing time thing was real creepy but I had more important issues to deal with at the moment. I got on my CB radio and called out for anyone that could help.

After 30 or 40 minutes of doing that, I got a response. It was a partially loaded Car Hauler and the driver said for 50 bucks he'd take me and my truck all the way to Dallas. What GREAT luck! In an hour or so we were loaded and on our way to Dallas.

When we got back to Dallas we unloaded the truck and I thanked the driver and went into my house. Several hours later I went out to check the truck for problems. I got in and turned the ignition and it started right up.

I never found any problems with the truck and it never repeated. It was a few years later that I heard about abductees and all that. I mentioned this to an acquaintance at work and this guy looked at me like I was a fool.

He told everyone at work about it and then I was "BRANDED" The resident UFO Nut! It wasn't long before I was forced to quit this job and go elsewhere for work. I never mentioned this again before now. After this incident, my life took a nosedive into the toilet.

It was weird. It was like I had a big sign on me that said "UFO Freak". I went from a 6 figure a year sales career in insurance to selling cars for a living.

As incredible as this may sound, I lost my ability to sell that night. From 80 to zero literally "Overnight". I firmly believe that I was abducted that night.

I don't remember any of it, but I know it happened.what else could explain the loss of time! If I ever find one of those people that can do hypnotic regression, I find out for sure. I hope that this is not too long but I know of no other way of explaining this to your readers.

I saw light moving, in my experience in an inexplicable manner, then at incredible speed disappearing into the sky at near verticle. Clear night sky, no weather. Driving through Athens, Texas; Tyler toward Waco, left turn.

At turn to left was church and just above saw green and red light, round but undefined, moving randomly. Because of the unique nature of the light, I pulled to the side of the road to observe, thought the light may be from helicopter but realized the movement was to fast and to mobile. The light moved as a spot light would on the bottom of clouds with random movement but there were no clouds and the lights appeared autonomous.

There were no beams associated either. Then instantly the light moved at a high speed, just off vertical (greater than f-16 climb rate by factor of 8-10) and apparent size diminished to the vanishing point. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate.

The only thing I can't explain is the sharp 90 degree turn. It could have been an ICBM launched from nearby White Sands Missle range with a target at a Nevada test range. This was common back then and may still be.

This is something that has stayed on my mind for 30 years. I was traveling on a Sun night from Houston, TX on my way back to Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX. It was around 9 or 10pm.

If you'd like to verify my memory,Texas was in the middle of a severe drought that summer of 1980. I saw miles and miles of dead cornfields. Suddenly, something caught my attention at my 3 o'clock vision field.

I saw what appeared to be "2" satellites on a dual trajectory. My 1st thought was "It's a high flying jet" . but after a moment or two, I decided it was travelling way too fast.

I did not see any other flashing strobe lights. I was amazed to see 2 satellites in tandem for the fist time. After watching this for a good minute, any doubts I had about it being an airplane evaporated.

Suddenly, the 2 lights "stopped" in their trajectory "tracks". After 4 or 5 seconds, the lights 'went out'.they disappeared simultaneously.

The next morning, I asked the cadre instructors "If a! nyone had heard about a UFO sighted over I 10 last night?" They said "No." All I can say folks is this: "I KNOW what I saw.but I still do not know what it was.
