Classic saucer shape seen in the early seventies. I was a small child, probably about 6-7 years old. So this happened in about 1972-1974.
I was watching Charlie Brown,"The Great Pumpkin" so this happened sometime in October. My Father would go out on the back porch at night to smoke. The porch faced almost due west.
I went out to see what he was looking at. It was your classic "saucer shape" with two lights hanging underneath. It was floating low over the creek about 400 yards west of the house.
About 300-400 feet up. The moon was about 3/4ths full and was shining brightly off the craft. It had an almost polished aluminum color.
The lights hanging underneath slowly changed colors though the entire spectrum. They remind me of some kind of stage light. Clear quiet night, no noise whatsoever came from this craft.
My dad and I watched it for about 10 minutes, then he told me to go inside. I continues to what through the door for about another 10-15 minutes until my dad came in and it was time for bed.

Slow moving object splits and one part sped away while the bigger part slowly moved in the opposite direction. On approximately October 1, 2, or 3rd, 1972, my husband and I were traveling westbound on State Hwy 24 (now US Hwy 380) just east of the city of Denton, Texas. It was between midnight and 6:00 am.
Both of us saw a lighted object ahead of us, not too far above treetops moving very slowly to the north. My husband remembers it to have an orange glowing color. When we first saw the object, it was south of the highway and moving slowly northward.
We looked at each other and asked if the other was also seeing the strange light moving at the unusually slow speed. Both of us did so my husband stopped the car on the shoulder of the roadway and we continued to watch from within the car. The lighted object moved northward across Hwy 380 very slowly.
At some point, when the object was north of Hwy 380, the object came to a stop and seemed to split into two parts. The smaller part continued its northerly path, but at a very high rate of speed. It was gone in a matter of seconds.
The other part appeared to returned southward across the highway from where it had originated but moved much more slowly than its first approach. We watched both parts until they were out of sight. The entire sighting took place over the course of less than 5-10 minutes.
We have never forgotten it. We have never seen anything like it since then, but both of us believe that what we saw was not something we have seen before or since. My husband born in Denton and was 32 at the time of this sighting.
He was employed by a local municipality where he went on to work until retirement 26 years later. We raised two children and have continued to live in Denton. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate.

star like distance and appearance of many lights moving in formation I was about 16 or 17, with my good friend at the time,We are from San Angelo, Tex. we were living in his Fathers apartment at this fairly young resort community (his father sold property there) We had gone to a couple of friends house that was near the Golf course, and club at Lago Vista. These kids were a little younger than us.
We played guitar a little and then went outside, for some reason one of us I dont remember which was looking at the sky. But it was noticed that numerous 10 or 16 stars, (they were bright as stars, and seemed to be at same distance as stars)They were moving in formation which we could see with our naked eyes. Of course we were all 4 kids, however there parents came outside and they confirmed seeing the same thing.
If my perspective is right we were looking very high at the Southwest. We watched these for some time, and then they vanished. I realize if our perceptions were right about distance those lights were covering some major ground.
I dont talk to many people about it. However I guess now it was late 80's I was back home, and ran into that friend, after we visited for awhile, he said do you remember what we saw in Lago Vista. I realize not nearly as drastic as some sightings but this is truth of what we saw.
What we saw I cant say! ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. PD)).

I was about 7 years old and my brother was 8 years old. my uncle and I were sitting on the front porch eating popsicles and my brother started screaming and yelling and pointing to the sky, "look, look, look,." I looked at and saw a large craft, that if I open my arms and put it in the air in a v shape, it would show about a five mile wide or possibly ten mile wide craft.
It seemed to be about 5 to 800 feet off the ground and hovered there for about 5 minute. I noticed all the clouds around it and the blue in the sky and the skin of The Craft seem to be like the mother of pearl on a clamshell. It seemed to move with an iridescent and had a dark tone to it and yet a silverish iridescents to it.
It was the largest object that ever seen the sky and I was quite stunned it wasn't sure what I was looking at. It shot off into the West sky as fast as lightning and I tried to follow it but was too fast. And then a brite pink color filled the sky and flashed across the whole horizon.
It seemed like I could taste or even hear the color. Was very bizarre for my young mind and I was trying to figure it all out, when my uncle suddenly jerk me up by the arm and rushed me and my brother into the house and deadbolt the door and latch the chain and was peering out the window on the door. My uncle what it was and he sternly told me,"Shhh! Be quiet, don't say anything!!! He then told me to go sit down in the living room and don't say anything to anybody about it.
I knew what I had seen was out of the ordinary and I didn't understand exactly what it was oh, but I knew that it was something not from this planet. My intuition told my young mind that it was from somewhere else.

Landing, beamed lights, formation and singly many witness and over several nights, affected phones/cars Bright lights flew in formation, then made right angle turns in opposite directions of each. Sometimes flew singly, then others would join. Seen for many days coming in from Gulf of Mexico by fishermen, oil workers, then appeared over Bolivar Pennisula seen for several nites and then progressed north.
Police, military, pilots and "swamp rats" who had fished the gulf and hunted the swamps all their life had never seen this before. People familiar with coastal boat lites and helicopters checking oil lines did not recognize these Lights. Phones would not work when they were there, did when they were gone.
A new car investigating lights pulled under then and went dead. Later that morning worked fine. Lights "beamed" from objects did not cast shadow and could make right hand turns.
On second nite, light on ground behind house. Pulsed regularly. Nailed doors, windows shut, passed out guns (householder was the town marshall) then all 14 people went to bed and slept til morning.
Did not witness following evenings as left area that morning. Entire town talking about it, including teachers, store owners etc. Light was very bright, had no colors in it, such as strob lights on planes, which can look as though blue were in it.
Lights travel very fast and first nite seen to "land and take off" a few miles away at an unoccupied house. This was during first part of August, start of school for that town and in 1971,72 0r 73. ((NUFORC Note: We would very much like to receive other reports of this incident from anyone who also was witness to the events described above.

Saucer 50 ft. above hovering over us. It was a summer night in Texas in 1972, I was 11 years old at the time.
I remember very vividly the local news channel my parents were watching saying there were strange sightings of flashing lights in the sky around town that were unexplained. It didn’t seem very alarming to my parents at the time so being kids, we were not very concerned, just kind of excited to see them. My sister and I went outside to see if we could get a glimpse of any of these so called lights in the sky.
She was 6 at the time so of course she followed me. We went out to the back yard to see if we could spot any, it was around 5:00 PM, so the sun was still out. It was about 15 minutes and we didn’t see anything so we decided to sit on the brick fence and watch for a few more minutes, nothing.
We were just about ready to jump off the fence when we spotted 3 flashing lights in the distance, probably no more than a few miles away. They were still and were like flashing orbs. We got excited and jumped off the fence (it was a small brick fence) and were going to go inside to tell my parents when all of a sudden we heard a humming from right above us.
At that point we were in the middle of the back yard. I looked up and to my amazement, saw a ribbon of round flashing lights not 50 feet above us. It was a disk, sort of like the flying saucer you see in comic strips.
The lights were different colors and they were flashing around in circles. It must have been no more than a few seconds when I looked at my sister to see if she was seeing the same thing. She had fallen to the ground, passed out.
I was scared and shook her to see if she was OK. She opened her eyes and I heard a whoosh. I looked up and the saucer and gone.
Both of us were shocked and couldn’t talk. She got u! p to run in the house to tell Mom and Dad. I stopped her and said, “Don’t tell Mom and Dad, they won’t believe us.
This is just our secret”. Surprisingly she did not say anything that night, or even the next few days. I had dreams about that evening for days, not bad dreams at all, just like it was watching over us.
Years went past and we didn’t tell a soul about that night. We have two sisters and a brother and kept this all to ourselves. She was very young so I thought she just forgot.
I had so many dreams about that night and after all the years went by, I convinced myself it was just a dream. Thirty five years passed, it was Thanksgiving and we were talking about when we were kids. I mentioned a dream I had about seeing a flying saucer when we lived in Texas.
My sister flushed, turned as white as a ghost and said she had the same dream. She explained her and I were sitting on the back yard fence looking at the skies when she saw flashing lights in the distance. She remembers running and looking up seeing some kind of saucer with different colored lights at the bottm and passing out after seeing it.
She remembers me waking her up saying, “Don’t tell Mom and Dad, they won’t believe us.” Did we both have the same dream? I don’t think so. I believe what we saw was real and deep in my heart, I know there are peaceful beings out there watching us.
Maybe knowing our hearts and letting us know we are not alone. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate. PD)).

Large Mothership type craft drops smaller craft out of bottom then disappears It was summertime 1972 in a suburb of El Paso, TX. My 2 friends, my brother and I were out late that night (after 10:00 pm). I was 11 yrs, my brother 9, the others about the same age.
We were playing some game on the sidewalk, and we noticed a huge yellow light in the sky, approx. 1/16 diameter of a full moon. It seemed to be very high in the sky or in space.
The small airport called Sunland Park was visible in the west accross IH 10, and the lights from some small planes could be seen in the vicinity of the airport. The light was very high above the airport, and slowly moving to the north. We were excited, and I said to my friend that we should run up the block to his house to get his new telescope.
At first he didn't want to, being afraid we would miss something while we were running up. But it kept moving so slowly that he agreed, and we sprinted up the street to get the scope. When we got to his house his Dad was out getting ready to call him and his brother in.
He said "Dad, LOOK AT THAT!!", and his Dad took a long look at it, then called his wife and the older sister out to look. By this time, the light had crossed 1/2 the horizon, but was still very high (in space?). Soon thereafter it stopped moving, and after hanging there for 15 secs.
or so, it began dropping smaller yellow lights out of the bottom, one after the other. The lights were about 1/10 the size of the larger light. It proceeded to drop about fifteen of these.
The craft was at about 10:00 high, and these smaller lights would each disappear at about 08:30 high. When they began disappearing, the number of them and the realization that they could fly over us invisibly made my knees start to wobble and give out from fear- the only time in my life that has happened. After the last of the lights fell, four lights simultaneously broke off the object at each corner or quadrant, then fell to the same area and disappeared.
After that the entire craft just blinked out. I looked around the neighborhood, and some other neighbors saw this as they! were ou tside watering the grass and others working on a car. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.

I have seen three things in my lifetime that I am sure were not from this planet. The three things I saw were things in the sky that I could not explain. The first two occurred at night in 1970.
They only amounted to lights in the sky, but I will never forget them, as I will explain. Two friends witnessed the first sighting and one of the friends witnessed the second. The third event happened during the day about 15 years later and was seen only by me.
The sighting was in Houston. My two friends and I looked up one night and saw a star-like light crossing the night sky. We thought it was a satellite, so we watched it.
After traversing across about one half of the sky the object changed directions by 90 degrees. It did not turn. It did not slow down.
It simply changed directions. One instant it was traveling thousands of mile per hour in one direction, and the next instant it was traveling thousands of miles per hour in a direction 90 degrees to the first direction. It finally went out of sight over the horizon.
The three of us commented about it. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous.

Me and a friend had a teloscope out and were using my binos to spot a star to view. Somthing blocked out the star i was looking at,i lowered the binos and made out a large black triangle! It was moving so slow, no sound, very dim white lights in a circular fasion in the center of the object. Was able to get the small 3 inch reflector scope on it briefly! This thing was NOT from here! My impression now is that it was very old.
It blended into the night sky perfectly. So perfectly that this thing could have been circling our planet, slowly staying in the dark for ever! ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the incident is approximate. PD)).

Barrel shaped object, slow speed, daylight sighting and possible search for said object. My father & I were traveling down I-10 between Balmorhea and Ft. Stockton, TX, in the mid-1970's and at approximately 14:00 or 15:00 we saw off to our left a barrel shaped object just hanging in the sky.
It was at a tilted angle, not horizontal or vertical. We had been stopped at a rest area when first seen. When we left the rest area the object paralleled our car all the way into Ft.
Stockton, TX. We were traveling at 55 mph. This was in bright daylight in perfectly clear skies.
As we came into Ft. Stockton we noticed two fighter jets approaching. The object went into the only cloud in the sky.
The jets also entered the cloud and appeared to search the area for about 10 minutes. I watched the search and cloud while my father entered a store to do his sales call. After the jets left the area the barrel shaped object came out of the cloud.
As we continued out of town on I-10 the object started to veer off to our left. It continued in that directtion until we could no longer see it as we continued on HWY 67. ((NUFORC Note: Source of report indicates that the date of the incident is approximate.

Object high in upper atmosphere producing pale green pulsating cloud as it slowly spiraled downward, then disappeared. Former Navy military adviser,Viet Nam; Army Reserve Helicopter Gunship armament artificer, Electrical project manager / engineer. In the summer of 1972 I went to LaCoste, Texas, to hunt coyotes with a friend on his grandfather's property.
After several cups of coffee, I went outside to relieve myself, when I noticed a round or oblong object high in the upper atmosphere. What drew my attention to it was the extremely wide vapor trail or cloud that emanated from the object as it slowly spiraled downward in a long, wide, and very slow spiral. Aside from appearing unusual, what really fascinated me was that the vapor trail or cloud the object produced, was a pale green color and was pulsating.
I watched the object for approximately 10-15 minutes, when it finally just stopped. The cloud continued to pulsate and then slowly faded from pale green to white and looked then like any other cloud in the sky. It was a full moon night and very clear.
I watched the cloud then fade to nothing. I thought it may be a satellite falling to earth after losing it's orbit, but then I feel it would have been traveling at a much greater speed once it entered earth's atmosphere. This object was moving VERY slowly and the spiral was gradual and very wide.
I have never shared this with anyone as I was the only one to witness the object and was afraid I'd be ridiculed. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the incident is approximate. PD)).

My sighting was a long time ago and some details are hard to remember. One summer nite i was taking my sister to pick up some clothes from the garage of my parents house that had burned down .She was in the garage for some time and i had became restless and had laided my head on the car door from the inside of the car on the drivers side.
Iwas looking up gazing at the stars it was a clear nite . Then out of no where a triangle formation of lighted dots drifted across the sky. There was no sound .
If i had not been looking up i would have never seen this event.I was startled and amazed at what i was wittnessing .I had to move to the other side of the car very quickly because the dots of lights were moveing at a pretty good drift.
The amount of dots or disk that i saw were between 12 or14 moving in a northeasterly direction. The lights did not stop or move in any wierd manner, they stayed on a straight path . Their color was like a white silver more whiteish sort of like a full bright clear moon.
Idid tell my father and sister and mother about this sighting and fact on that nite i had also yelled at my sister to come and see but she was trying to get her clothes and didn't make it out in time to see . I have waited a long time to tell anybody else because most people think your crazy . I also didn't know where to report such a matter until i recently got on the net and found this site.

lights traveling across the sky at high speed, one stopped and became brighter A friend and I were sitting on my porch watching the sky. We saw three lights transverse 1/2 the sky at a high rate of speed (went the whole scope of the sky in a second or two). on of the lights stopped abruptly and began to become much much brighter.
It then returned to its normal luminescence and exited the sky at the previous high rate of speed. after this two more of the lights (looked the same as bright stars with the same white light) covered the whole sky at the same rate of speed. going across the whole sky in a couple of seconds.
i will never forget this experience and have never seen anything like it since.

Sometime in either 1972 or 1973 my grandfather and i were outside sitting down in hico texas when a white saucer type vehicle flew very rapidly by making no noise. 1971-1972 Saucer Siting, Northeast Texas I was about 12 and my mother about 45. We were driving to a late night store downtown, travelling east to west down one more or less direct route/straight road. Near the downtown grocery was also a water tower and a police communications tower which were probably high points/tallest objects in the immediate area.
We saw a metallic saucer-shaped object with red, green and white lights that appeared the size of a small plane not much higher than the water and communications towers. We noticed it as we headed toward these towers then watched it approach them, hover in a stationary position and then head back east. We attempted to follow its path in the car but lost it fairly quickly.
We thought it seemed to head further east toward other communication or radio towers. My mother was educated, I have two degrees, father is an attorney. We had no reason to disbelieve the existance of a UFO and we had always been star-gazers in the spring and summer months as my mother had taken an astronomy course.
We never really told anyone outside our family because at that time there were already so many stories that seemed unbelievable. I guess we just assumed ours would seem just like all the others. But it was as real as could be.
Just like anything else we might have looked at that night, there was no reason not to believe what we saw. I do not know the exact date or year. I have said March of 1972 but it could have been 1973 and could have been May or even Sept-Nov.
I know it was a school night! and not middle of the winter. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. PD)).
