Indiana UFO Sightings in 1972

Looking for someone who recognize's this sighting "hayride on farm in Indiana" My experiences My first ufo experience happened back in the early seventies.I had recently joined our local 4-H group in my hometown of jeffersonville,indiana.I was twelve years old.

our group had planned a hayride.The hayride would be on a big farm,in Indiana.I remember the name of the farm to this day.

What I saw that evening,What we all saw that evening will always and forever be embedded in my mind.It will hold out as top of the list on the most fascinating experience's of my life.We arrived at the farm,gathered onto the bed of the tractor,and situated ourselves on the hay.

and embarked onto the venture of a lifetime.It all started out relatively calm,as I remember. there were twelve plus people,including myself.

We where pretty deep into the woods of the farm,we were singing and playing the guitar having a really good time.When a friend of mine and I noticed some strange lights behind the tree lines,on the right side of our path.We observed them for a while,and then in an instant this huge craft was right on top of us.

I remember being so frightened by this sight.One moment we all are laughing and singing,the next moment everyone was totally terrified.And there was not a thing we could do.

This craft was huge and so close I could have literally thrown a rock at it,that is how close it was to us.And in that split second how it got from behind the tree line to right on top of us ,still blows my mind to this day.the speed this craft had is un-imaginable.

Believe me nothing back then or now could ever make those kind of manuvers that it put on that night.Explaining the craft,it was disc shaped,mettalic in color,It had brightly multi-colored flashing or rather spinning lights in the center of the craft.that wrapped around the entire craft.

and above these lights were windows that also wrapped around the entire object.I remember trying so hard to see inside the windows,as the craft was also lit up on the inside too.It just came out of no where, and there it was ,right in front of all of our faces.

it hovered fo! r a very long time.My friend remembers hearing a swishing sound,and i felt more of a vibration through my body.I just still to this day cannot believe how fast and quiet this huge craft was.

After our initial panic,I believe we all became relatively calm with amazement,It was a spectacular sight,then it zipped over at incredible speeds to the left and just hovered,then to the right and just hovered ,then with the blink of an eye ,shot off so fast it was truly incredible,the speed so fast till it was out of sight. it was so fast ,the way it streaked off,I simply cannot put into words.I do not believe there was ever a report made of this sighting.

I don't know how to get in touch with any of the other people who was also involved in this.This is now over thirty years old.I remember no one said anything on the ride home,I thought this to be strange as to what we all just saw.

I only wonder if they all still think about that evening ,as I still do.There were several people that witnessed this sighting with me.this encounter will always be with me for the rest of my life.

I know what I saw .And I am a BELIEVER.Oh well i just wanted to get my story out there.

For my own peace of mind,in my own words.And hopefully some of those people out there with me that night might see this and remember also,since no one had home computers then.But one thing I'm sure of ,IT has to be embedded in there thoughts,as is mine.

Because you just don't forget about something like this, it's just to big.Maybe I am not intended to understand why or how.I do know you cannot erase these kind of memories from your mind.

I only hope one day I might find my answer,as so many others need to know also. as to why these events take place.I have had other strange happenings since ,another time .

One evening about an hour after sundown in 1972, approximately half-way between Rensselaer and Francesville, Indiana, an elderly friend and I were outside talking together when we stopped to observe a lighted object flying a northwesterly course passing directly over our position. We first thought it was a commercial jet, but we heard no engine sound at all. I estimate the altitude to have been fifteen to twenty thousand feet.

About the time the object was directly overhead, we heard what sounded like a military aircraft in hot pursuit. Its rate of closure was fast enough that it was about to overtake the silent object. We stood transfixed as the silent object made a precise 90 degree turn to the southwest and accelerated OUT OF SIGHT in no more than two seconds, leaving the military aircraft helplessly behind.

We watched for a short time after that, but nothing else happened. That is all we saw. I verbally verified it with my elderly friend to be sure we both saw the same event.

She confirmed that she had. About the same period of time, I can't remember if it was before or after, along this same stretch of road, a farmer lost some of his pigs to mutilation. Their nostrils and rectums were surgically removed.

No tracks led up to or away from the carcasses. Local law enforcement was unable to make any determination as to who or what it was. As far as I know, the case was never closed.

I was 6 years old. Was playing outside. saw a round object colored red and moon yellow to the north.

I was frightened ran inside screaming. The object was similar in size to the moon. It appeared rather suddenly.

When my dad came out to look at what I was screaming about it was gone. The day was hot and hazy. I remember the object was hovering over the bride which if its the 16ht street bridge it would have been due north.

I was at a friend's house at the time. As far as I can remember I was the only witness to this. I have never reported this.

I saw a special on A&E on UFO's and there was a drawing of a UFO identical to the one I saw. Note on information. Contacting me could result in problems with work or my husband Please email me if you wish me to contact you so I can do so when it would not cause a problem.

Slowly moving cigar shape lighted all along side over I65 moving West to East for about 15 seconds. No sound noticed Driving north on I-65 in area north of where I265 now crosses I-65. One cigar shape just above tree line.

Larger than a major size jet plane. Moving West to East over Highway. Had lights all along the side.

Indianapolis Multi-Colored Round object 1972-74 chased by fighter jets Aproximately 1972-74 west central Indianapolis, Indiana. I was a young boy probably around 7 years old. I was walking back home with my friend coming from his house on a dead end street (Corral & Birtha street) When we reach the front of my house and sidewalk we noticed a huge round object hovering directly over us.

No sound, I can not explain how huge this was. We had to actually move our heads back and fourth to see the entire object at one point. It was rotating with multiple colored lights.

From our vantage point directly under it, it seemed to be like a spoke in a wheel. The outer edges seemed to be rotating around the center and changing colors as it did that. Suddenly the object shot straight up in a flash, hardly even able to distinguish between it and stars other than the color looked more orange from the distanced view.

We ran inside to tell my mother and finally we convinced her to come outside to see it. By that time other neighbors was outside too looking at it. The object had came back down to it's original position but occasionally would maneuver up, down or left or right and even diagonally.

Some times fast and sometimes slow. The second time it shot up and was ha! rdly distinguishable between the stars other than the color difference. We all went back inside and my mother called the police and reported it.

She also called the Air force. Moments later it was on the news on TV. Wier Cook Airport at the time ( Now Indianapolis International ) had sent 2 fighter jets to intercept it.

We went back outside a third time and seen the jets heading towards the object. Suddenly the object shot straight upwards again so fast. but this time it disappeared completely out of view.

The news that evening said the Air force identified it as being a blown off course weather balloon. The next day it was in the news papers also. A few day's later me and my friend was walking along side the road in the middle of the day and a blue car and 2 men in air force uniforms stopped us and asked if we saw anything strange in the sky.

We told them about it as they took notes. Then they drove away. I never head anything more about this.

Now I am 46 and still remember it so vividly. I tried researching the news archives without success. If anyone else who witnessed this please post here.

Obviously it was not a blown off course weather balloon. We do not chase weather balloons with fighter jets. I might add.

they couldn't catch it.lol I just wish I could find some archives or documentation on this. Approximately 1972-75 Summer-time, at night very clear sky.
