Two disk-shaped craft hovering over city night , forms defined by red, successive lights illuminating edges, suddenly shoot skyward As I was driving west on 30th St. Indpls. west side, I turned off the major 2-lane thouroughfare onto a winding residential street.
I glances up and saw red blinking lights lighting in succession, with the two circular, disk-shaped crafts being defined by the red lights. I stopped the car and pulled to the curb to try to make sense of the phenomenon, when both crafts, hovering together at about 500-800 ft., suddenly went vertical, maybe somewhat angled away, and quickly disappeared into the night sky.
I heard no sounds. ((NUFORC Note: Date may be approximate, although the witness does not indicate that fact. PD)).

Summary : a bright object follows 2 women home and gives a show My sister and I were heading home from work to her house, when we saw a very bright object out the passenger side window.it looked like a small sun and was heading in the same direction as we were which was east. We were on a straight country road and the object kept pace with us.
When we turned north the ufo turned north also.As we pulled into my sisters driveway we were facing east again and the ufo was over her backyard. We walked to the back clutching each other in an arm lock and standing in awe we observed it hanging motionless in the sky.
It seemed to be putting on a show just for us because it split in two parts and then three forming a large triangle in the sky overhead. Each time it split it became as brilliant as the first object. There was no noise detected .
All the objects started to rotate in the sky keeping the triange shape. We kept asking each other "Did you see that?" Finally the objects moved slowly off to the south and disappeared. We had a house full of peo! ple inside and we were so much in shock that we didnt go to the window and tell them to come out and see.
My sister had a better encounter but that is her story.

Object hovered for apprx. 5 min. then proceeded west - it was apprx.
300' long 50-75' wide 50-75' high w/lights. I was enroute to my residence from work at approximately 23:15 hours. I noticed what appeared to be "airplane" lights (wing tip red and green) in the night sky to my left (east).
However, I then noticed that the green light was angled downward and appeared to be decending. I was approximately eight miles north of Francesville, IN at the time. I continued to watch these two lights.
As I got closer to Francesville, the lights got lower. As I pulled into town, I observed these lights to be approximatly 100 to 150 feet above ground. What I had first thought to be one green light was, in fact, a multitude of green lights on the front of the craft.
The craft appeared to be approximatly four (4) stories in height and was approximatly two (2) blocks long. What had appeared to be a "red" light was an apparent exhaust port and appeared to be approximately fifty (50) feet wide. There appeared to be some type of structure on the outer shell of the craft, however, I could not tell for sure.
This craft stopped and hovered over Francesville, IN for approximately five (5) minutes. There was absolutely no sound. After approximately five (5) minutes the object angled upward by approximately one or two degrees and continued on a westerly course toward Rensselaer, Jasper County, IN.

Three lights in the shape of a triangle. I was looking at this web sight for the first time and saw an event entered 5/1/2005 that must be the same event that I experienced. The writer dated the event 5/12/1980 but said he wasn't sure.
I think the event was approximately September of 1978 or 1979. I was 16 or 17 and driving home from work on interstate 70. I was headed east from Indianapolis to Greenfield.
I would say somewhere between the Mt. Comfort Rd. exit and the Greenfield exit, I saw 3 lights in a triangular shape.
The lights were primarily white but I do remember some occasional red and blue. It would have been around 9:15 based on where I was on my trip home. The lights moved in relation to each other and formed different sizes of the same triangle.
I exited interstate 70 at Greenfield and turned north on highway 9. I then went approximately 1 mile until I reached 300 north and turned west. (I was still headed home) Very shortly after I turned onto 300 north, I could see something above me.
I have always described it as a "density". It was too close above me to make out a shape. When I looked up, it was big enough that I couldn't see sky on any side of the object.
I have also always said it was probably bigger that two 2 story houses. I have also said it would be like standing under a large passenger jet, that is on the ground, and looking up. You could just see the underneath.
I couldn't see the lights at that time and I could not make out the color of the object, just that there was something above me. There was no sound. I am guessing this lasted for just a few seconds until I drove past it.
I went home and made it by my normal time which was approximately 9:30. I told my parents and they could tell I was visibly excited. The next morning, I was sitting in my high school home room and they came over the intercom and said the National Enquirer was in the office and wanted to interview anyone having seen a UFO.
I did not go because I was too embarrassed to get up in front of the home room. I do not know if anybody went. That evening, the Greenfield Daily Reporter ran a front page article.
In that article, it reported finding markings in a field. These markings were found somewhere on the opposite side of highway 9 than I had turned. I turned to the west of 9 and these were found on the east of 9 and at about the same area as 300 north.
I feel it must have been headed east when I saw it. I match my dates due to where I was working. I really felt it was in the fall because of feeling new in the home room class.
I did go back to the Hancock County Library a couple of years ago and tried to find the paper. I was unable to find any article, but I did concentrate on the fall only. I will make an attempt to go back soon and start checking all of 1978 and 1979.
I will also check to make sure that all of the papers are there. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the event is approximate. PD)).

I looked out my window to see a disc shaped object hovering about less than 100 ft. over my house. This happened when I was only 7 but I can picture it like it was yesterday.
On hot nights when I couldn't sleep I would put my face up against the window that was right next to my top bunk because the window was always cooler. One night I did this and opened my eyes to see a disc shaped object hovering less than 100 ft. over my house.
It was all lit up in different colors and the lights kept flashing in a pattern. My parents were sitting on the couch in the next room talking and I called out to them asking them what that thing in the sky with all the lights was. My mom didn't even look out but called back that it was an advertisement and that someone was having a sale or grand opening.
At the time, being only 7 this made perfect sense to me, but later I realized that from my discription she thought that I was talking about a strobe light. It was at this time that I realized that that thing that I had seen was not anything the average citizen was familiar with. As I watched this object it slowly and silently started to "drift" in a slightly NW direction towards the Ridge Road viaduct just East of Wicker Park, until it was out of sight from my window.
Years later I was talking with a friend who had lived a few doors away at the time and she described for me the exact same thing even though we had never discussed it before. She had seen it too.

I was sitting in front of the window listening to the radio one night and saw this object slowly descending, like the sun setting on the horizon until it disappeared. It was shaped rather like a pencil that has been sharpened at both ends. It was a bright, glowing yellow with two equally bright orange bands which seemed to have a few greyish-green round windows? along the bands.
It was moving vertically and the craft was also vertical as if standing on end. I watched it descend and saw it through the trees. I thought it was going to land until I realized it was beyond the horizon.
It took maybe 20-30 seconds. I don't know if it made a sound as I had headphones on and was looking out the window. This happened a long time ago when I was in high school.
I was the only one to see it. I would have called my dad into the room except by the time I realized what I was seeing, it was gone. It was very bright in the sky on a clear night, and I remember looking at the clock and noting it was 1:00 a.

In broad day light, it was as big as three aircraft carriers, but as silent as air. Moving very slowly though the air. at the front the shape was round and thick, then it had like a narrow neck, about half as wide as the saucer shaped front.
It then widened to like a square shape, but with wings, two sets of wings, like an aircraft. But the strange thing was that the front wings were much smaller than the back wings. And instead of faceing the back of the craft they angled to the front.
The back wings were at the end of the craft, angled in the same direction.but were much larger than the front wings. I could see details on the craft, but what I remember most was the what I think was the power jet out put ports????? Thats the only way I can decribe them.
maybe 8 2 rows of 4. could see what looked like portholes on the side of the main square main body,it had so much detail, so dark and silnent, .I must of had watched it past over for at least 30 mins.
beleive me ornot this was not made in the USA ,and it made a beleiver out of me. SO big so slow ,so silent. If there ever was a mother ship this had to be her sister ((NUFORC Note: Date may be approximate, although the witness does not indicate that fact.

50 ft. sphear over farm house moved off exces of mach1 visible untill fading out of sight. I was driving with my mother "unfortunatld now deceased"going east on the road just south of the wabash rivver when we came around to see a sphear aproximatly 50 foot in diamiter about 1/4 mile ahead of us setting stationary above a farm house about 15 to 20 feet over the chinmey it was glowing orange apeared to be perfectly smooth and was giving off enough light to iluminate the house and outline of the barn.
At that point my mother said look at that moon and I said that is no moon however it was the clasic color of the rising harvest moon.At that point it started moving south and up at about 30 degrees. It made no sound and excelerated at a tremendous rate in a strate line turning continuously lighter in color untill it apeared to be no more than a star that continued in the same direction untill it was to far and faint to see.
This took no more than 20 seconds from the time that it started to move. I am rather certin on the size as it's dianiter was as close as i was able to toll the same as the top of the roof.I have been in the military and it was not a plane or conventional air craft.
it made no manoover other than a strate line it made no sound although it had obviously exceaded the sound barier several times.I now work in electronics and know of no way of doing this. It was a solid object below the high tree line it had no markings or visible openings.
it was not a reflection and when we aproched it was aparent that it was centered above the house that is still standing. and to the bottom was not over 45 feet off the ground. ((NUFORC Note: Date may be approximate, although the witness does not indicate that fact.
