Georgia UFO Sightings in 1978

Warm December night two days before Christmas, while standing in my landlords backyard watching the goings on in the chickencoupe with my landlords sons. I observed directly overhead just above tree top an Chevron shaped Aircraft with no fuseluge (No it wasn't a Stealth) pass ever so slowly above us. I could make out two rows of lights on the bottom of the wings (eight lights each row) white light almost recessed into the wings.

The object made very little noise it was not engine noise neither was their any vapor tail. Across the road (Rte 7) was the north end of Moody AFB, and F4 (D) Phantom jets were making their approach to the flight line, this object headed directly towards those landing F4's. I was half expecting some collision but the Chevron object flew directly above the F4's and amazingly the F4's never aborted or broke from their landing approach.

The above craft was about 40 foot long. My background at that time I was 22 years old, sober and a Senior Airman enlisted in the Air Force at Moody AFB, located at Valdosta GA. Today I am a Senior Debug Techician up in Massachusetts, (Won't mention company name).

The object was Chevron shaped. Not pointed on the ends but rounded.

A saucer shaped ship was seen from about 50 yards away. It hovered. That evening I saw bright lights in my window through closed dark curtains.

I opened the curtains to view a perfect flying saucer. It was shinny, like seemless stainless stell, or chrome. It was still daylight, so it was crystal clear, and a beautiful day.

It was approaching dusk, so the light was perfect. The ship hovered directly over my neighbors house, which was directly across the street. It had round or oval lights runninig around the bottom, and a blue mist drifting from the center bottom area.

This was daylight so the blue light was only clearly visible when it moved up, and away. When I saw the disk I stood inshock for a minute, but then I ran into my parent's room (wher they were laying with my little sister with them watching TV) and screamed to them to come look. When we opened the front door the ship was still above the neighbor's home, but started to move east after a 30 second viewing by my 3 other shocked witnesses.

It took off West, but then zoomed striaght up at dramatic speeds, and then zig zagged off onto the horizon. It was silent.

In 1978 I saw six star-like objects sit stationary in the sky and then take off at an extremely high rate of speed I have never officially reported this until now.I was 17 at the time this happened and I am now 43. I will never forget it.

It has been one of the most profound events of my life, and I think about it every so often.I was out running sprints up and down the street practicing for a high school track meet. The night was calm and clear.

I ran about 150 yards or so and when finished put my hands on my hips and looked upward while gasping for breath.I immediately saw six star-like objects that appeared to be at an altitude that a small cub plane might fly at or even less.I was immediately transfixed and just stared at them for about two minutes.

A car came by and I ran over to it to ask them to come and be a witness to this but they thought I was some kind of nut and just kept going.I ran back over just 30 yards or so back to where I was and stared at them some more.I knew in my heart and mind that this was something unique, and I began to feel as though I was having a religious experience-- I remember saying to them, " Take me, but please bring me back.

" Then all of a sudden, two of them left the irregular grouping and slowly traveled upward a little ways above the other four, and then they just stopped and stayed.I watched them even more intently then for just about 30 seconds or so, and then ( I will never forget this ) all of a sudden, in the blink of an eye, these six star-like objects went from being totally stationary to taking off and getting in a single file formation while at a speed that was just totally unearthly.The only thing I can even compare it to is like watching fireflys fly.

There was no noise, no sound, no flashing lights, no sonic boom, just simply an unreal experience.I estimate that they traveled 25 miles in less than 5 or 7 seconds.I have no way of knowing that, it is just a guess.

I saw them travel in a southerly direction following Highway 301 South in the direction of a town that I knew to be 22 miles from where I was.It appeared t! hat they had traveled that far in that short amount of time as I watched them travel for as far as I could see with my naked eye on a clear night.They were like miniature stars, very bright white, but with no color or lights.

They were silent and could move slow or EXTREMELY fast-- I know enough about physics to know that if there was a human being inside one of those objects, his body would have exploded like jello due to the G-forces .But human beings in association with this event have never entered my thoughts-- I knew then as I know now and will always know, that these were not of this world.

Clear sunny day in Valdosta, was walking on the edge of a peanut field, was facing south-west looking at another field directly behind the peanut field, and saw a bean shaped aerial device, the appearance of this device was a like bright dynamic electrical amber colour, device emitting intense dense short electrical spikes, the device appeared to be 20 feet in lenght and traveled in a purposeful south-west direction. Lost sight of the device after it flew and then arched over nearby tree tops. Curious whether there have been reports of similar devices, or if someone my know what this device was.

the spot lights that were circeling on the roof tops of our house. Making absolutely no noise whatsoever. these 3 crafts were very low in the sky.

I was standing outside my house with my brother and two long lost friends (NO DRUGS). tHESE WERE THE MOST DIFERENT SHAPED OBJECTS I'VE EVER SEEN TO THIS DATE. They look as far as we could tell in the dark , except for the lights which gave us an idea as to the shap.

The shape was that of a furnace flying slow with white and blue almost an electrical blue on the top. Around the center were an amber colored litebut sharper a color I've ever seen.Now , On the bottom the only lites i seem to remember were spot lights that I could see hiting the tops of the houses at the bottom of the hill.

It was really weird ! I was almost scared. These were at tree top level and never made a sound. I'll never forget that long as I live.

UFO came down and went behind a hill 300 yards away. In 1978 I witnesed a ufo while parking in the country side with a girl friend. I looked up and saw a ufo and my jaw dropped.

My girl friend kept saying whats wrong, whats wrong. I couldn't speak only stare. It was about 300 yards away and took 2 minutes to go down behind a hill.

As soon as it disappeared behind the hill I told her I saw a ufo. We drove down a dirt road trying to see it but the hill was in the way. I was to afraid to get out and climb the hill.

To this day no body believes me. I remeber as it was just happening. I can describe it and draw it.

It was deadly silent and as big as a house. There were lights that went around it and pointed down as it began to descend below the hill. I'm really serious.

1978 Atlantic Ocean Sighting "While around 90 miles off the eastern coast of Georgia on board a military vessle that was stationary in the water giving a foreign freighter needed fuel, a contact appeared on the radar scope that was verified as a "true echo" as well as not a craft that is from the United States or an allied nation. This echo was showing up at 900 feet altitude which is the exact height that the surface search radar ends & the air search radar begins. As the echo faded from the surface search radar it began appearing brilliantly on the air-search radar, then vise versa.

Around 10 minutes later, upon exiting the radar room to go outside for a possible visual, it was immediately noticed that it had become quite foggy outside! Visibility was less than 50 feet! Yet, the last weather observation was low humidity, 74 degrees and calm wind! It was at that point that previous books read pertaining to U.F.O.

's, sightings, abductions, etc. became the thinking while going to the port-side of the ship.( In one abduction case written about, the author had written about how aliens went about preparing the abductees for viewing what was to be a sort of weather show that the aliens were about to conduct).

Upon arriving to the port side of the ship & looking upward about 45 degrees towards the baring the echo showed on the radars, it was witnessed that within the fog was a diamond shaped object that was showing various colors like that of a gem was seen. There was no sound whatsoever coming from the object, nor was it moving. Once atop the bridge (called flying bridge), a 'bolted-to-the-deck' double lens telescope was swung towards the objects direction.

Once focused onto the object, one could see what was the outline of what appeared to be the window area of a saucer or ship. The various lights emitted from this craft seemed to come from all areas except for the windows area. The windows area appeared as a dark tinted set of windows, and that there seemed to be motions coing from inside the glass though one couldn't get a very clear view through the tinted glass along with the fog that was drifting past the windows in waves.

The windows area appeared to be angling downward towards the ship, the bottom pointed end of the craft appeared to be slanted back while the pointed top appeared to be pointing forward as was the tinted windows just below the top point of this craft. It was decided to go back to the radar room to attempt to get further data established without alerting any officer or crewmate. Once back inside the radarroom, the echo was still appearing on either the surface search or the air search radars.

It was then that it was decided that this craft is aware of the radars antenna's 'beamwidths'! The width between the two antennas is mere feet but enough that if a craft has the ability to trace the ships electrical output from those antennas that craft could in fact hide between the two radar antennas without being detected. The good thing was that this craft was not completely successful in hiding itself completely either with the heavy fog nor between the beam-widths of the two antennas. As minutes passed, it was noticed that this echo began to move! This echo was plotted during 3 complete sweeps from the air-search radar (set at 350 miles).

After the 3rd sweep the echo disappeared completely off the radar screen! The results of the 3 plotted marks were; 1. Altitude 1000 feet, speed 400 knots, 2. altitude over 15,000 feet, speed est.

near 800 knots, 3. Altitude surpassing 50,000 feet, speed est. over 5000 knots! It was then decided to go back outside for any further visual possible.

Once outside, there was no fog whatsoever present, the sky was completely clear with the sun shining which was the precise weather just before the contact had first appeared on either radar screen! As for the name of the military vessle, any other witnesses, etc., it has been kept annonymous. Though noone on board the ship was alerted to this sighting, others did notice and it was talked about by fellow radar operators, crewmates, etc.

for days to come afterwards. The above information is of fact to the best of ones knowledge, and is in no way a hoax or the like. Also, this report is not the 1st sighting ever seen by oneself.

Another sighting can be traced back to either 1966 or 1967 during the summer which was located 60 miles north of Albany NY & was printed in a small column in the local newspaper there (Post Star). Footnote; there are other details of the ocean sighting that were omitted due to protecting witnesses as well as oneself. As for the possibility of being sworn to secrecy, one could say that it was a good possibilty.
