Unidentified Sphere observed by group of teens west of Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS. I have never reported this story and have only shared it with my closest family and friends. Those who know me well enough to know I do not lie nor do I embellish stories.
Between August, 1976 and May, 1979, I attended Fernwood Junior High School, Pass Road, Biloxi, Mississippi 39531 for my 7th, 8th and 9th grade years. So It has been nearly 40 years since my UFO experience. That being said, though I am a little vague on the exact date or time the circumstances are still as clear in my mind as if they had happened yesterday.
One evening I was among a group of kids who had just finished band practice. There were probably 7-9 of us waiting for our parents to pick us up. If I remember correctly it was for concert band and it had to have been at least 8:00pm or 8:30pm, maybe a little later than that.
After practice was finished we were all huddled at the back of the school where it looked over the football field. On the other side of the field was an area of woods and past that lie the beaches. It was completely dark outside and I don’t remember being cold so I believe it was in the late summer or early fall sometime between September and December.
The sky was completely clear and illuminated by only the stars and the moon, with a faint glow from some street lights on the front side of the school (north of our position) and from the businesses which lined Beach Blvd, approximately a mile away on the other side of the woods, to the south. Biloxi was east of or location and Gulfport was to our wes! t. Also lying east of our location was Keesler Air Force Base.
My father was stationed there. We were all gathered and just talking. When someone in the group noticed a bright light that appeared at the top of the trees.
Since it was on the other side of the field I estimate it was approximately 200 feet +/- away from or location and based on the its position above the field I estimate that it had an approximately diameter of 40-60 feet. It was a bright white sphere that was completely silent and slowly glided just above the tree line towards the direction of Gulfport until it was out of our line of sight. It only took about 30 seconds for it to disappear past the tree tops.
After a moment of silent disbelief, a buzz of talking occurred, with questions about the source of the light but what happened next really sent the conversation into a frenzy. As I said, the sphere was completely silent but approximately 20 seconds after it disappeared a group of helicopters came into view at the top of the trees to our east. They were not in a straight line but in some kind of formation spread out from the tree line towards the beach.
We heard them loud and clear before we even saw them (which squashed the point that the Sphere was too far away for us to hear) and they followed the same exact path across the top of the trees, east to west, hurriedly scanning below with search lights, along their path, as they passed the school. About that time we heard our parents blow their car horns and we went running up to the front of the school. We loaded into the car (I was riding with a friend) and excitedly began to describe our experience.
We were headed East on Pa! ss Road towards home. I lived in Thrower Park, which was base housing. No sooner had we started driving down Pass Road when 4-5 police cars, with lights and sirens blaring, sped past us in the direction of Gulfport.
This only fueled our speculations. The next day I looked in the newspapers for any word of the events of the previous evening, but there was nothing. Of course we spoke of it at school and I kept watch in the papers for several weeks, but eventually gave up on finding out what happened that night.
Over the years I have thought of our experience often and wondered about the truth but in my mind I have no doubt about what we saw. During my father’s 20 year career in the Air Force he worked on mission specific equipment for aircraft and I was in and around aircraft frequently when I would visit the hangers where he worked. Some of the mission equipment he worked on was for the Hurricane Hunters and I was very aware of what a weather balloon was and what it looked like.
So much so that as a child I wanted to grow up to be a weather person. I was captivated by weather and the Hurricane Hunters. We had also lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and been to the hot air balloon festivals on several occasions, during my childhood.
I wish I could say I remember the date and the names of the other kids who were present that night, but other than my recollection of the experience and a few nicknames I am at a loss. How I wish we had the internet then. I may not have been able to find any information back then but I have never forgotten and would love to know if there is anyone else out there, who went to Fernwood Junior High during that period, and who has not forgotten either.

Grouped lights in sky moving fast in a configuration of a chevron or partial diamond. Late on the 3rd Saturday in July of 1978, I was awoken to find my sister, who was gathering her things planning on secretly going to visit her boyfriend. I said I would awake our grandfather if she didn’t take me with her.
So we drove to what is near the downtown district of Gulfport and I waited in the back seat of the car. My sister spend nearly an hour talking to her boyfriend on his front porch and began kissing. Disgusted, I turned around to look outside the back window and noticed at least 9-12 (maybe more) lights flying together in a chevron/diamond shape.
I got out of the car and watched it heading towards the beach/Gulf of Mexico. My sister comes down from the porch and asked me what I was doing and I pointed the sky, asking what the lights were. She ran to me and looked and as I returned my eyes to the sky it was gone.
She said, jokingly that I had seen my very first UFO. I said no it’s not. I then began to tell my sister and her boyfriend an exper! ience I had the month before.
I have since seen this light configuration 3 times since the first time. I cannot tell if it is a group of crafts or one big one. I have yet to see them separate; so, I assume at this point it is one craft.

bright multi-colored lights emanate from disc flying/hovering silently approx 500 ft in the air I was visiting Gautier, MS for the summer in the late 70's and I remember there was a lot of talk in the media about a comet (or meteor) that would be visible early one morning between 2-3am. Being a curious person I set my clock to wake up so I could witness this celestial event. I went outside that morning and within a few minutes I did see some heavenly body streak across the sky.
Just before I was about to go back inside to bed, I saw something else that I've never seen the likes of before or since. In the not too distant night sky I saw a disc shaped object floating slowly towards me. It was very brightly colored (the lights alternated red, blue, green and orange in a circular pattern around the object).
I was transfixed by this sight as it inched towards our house. Over the next twenty minutes it floated closer and closer to the yard where I was standing. After about ten minutes of observation it was clear to me that this object was approaching and would soon be directly over head.
I would estimate the disc at about 500ft in diameter and flying about 500ft in the air. There were times when it appeared to come to a dead stop and simply hover, then begin floating slowly closer. The flickering alternating colorful lights were the most striking thing about it and I remember wondering what government technology could produce such an object.
At about the 20 minute mark in the sighting, the object was nearly directly over my head and I remember a strong fear coming over me. I was afraid of being spotted by this craft and went back inside the house. From various windows inside I continued to watch the object as it flew over the front of the house and I ended up in my bedroom watching it pass over the back yard.
The object never made a sound. There were a bunch of trees behind the house a few hundred yards away; once the object glided over those trees it appeared to descend further. I watched it hover just above those trees for another 10 minutes or so before it ascended and quickly flew ou! t of sig ht.
No airplane, weather balloon, or helicopter that I know of could account for that sighting. I will never forget what I saw that night and I have come to believe that others have seen the same thing as well.

Orb of light enters body, awake temporarily paralyzed, followed by prophetic visions and drawings The evening before my very first 1st incident was on the roof of my grandparents’ home playing with a ham radio and a variety of wires and electrical devices I had collected; which, included a working, portable black and white television. I would often speak on the radio pretending to be a space captain traveling the universe searching for life forms to form a galactic community. The night became quite dark and I eventually crawled in through my bedroom window and went to sleep.
I awoke later that night at 1:00 am and looked at my clock to see what time it was and quickly noticed a light growing brighter outside my window. I could see a glowing orb of light outside the window before the foot of my bed, from the East. At first I thought it might have been my grandfather; but, I knew my window was too high from the ground to be able to see that.
I cleared my eyes and was able to see beyond the windows that this light was moving closer to the window and noticed that the air (the space) within my room appeared to increasingly ripple in place as this orb passed through the wall and stopped before the foot of my bed. Sitting up in my bed I could see the rippling space move closer to my body and enter, passing through me. At that moment I felt very week, and I passed out.
The following morning I awoke to find myself paralyzed and was not until nearly an hour was I able to move and slowly crawl down the hallway to the living room and climbed up on the couch. I was not sure what had happened, thinking I might be sick. I was supposed to have a sleep over at a friend’s house that night and decided not to tell my mother what happened.
Later, as I was spending the night at my friend’s house I began to draw/color with crayons, pictures of what I thought the future would be like. My friend was very into a particular science fiction film and had nearly all of the figurine toys of the movie characters and play sets. I then began to draw pictur! es of the future films that were to come, explaining how certa! in characters would do things and new creatures we both had never seen.
He disbelieved me of course; but, several years later I see the next two releases of this film and everything I drew came true. Creative coincidence or did the incident the prior night have anything to do with it? I have had many more experiences since that night over the past 30 years. Something happened; but, not sure if it was an alien, time traveler, spiritual experience or just sleep paralysis as I have often been told.
If I could ever find that boy from 1978 I am sure he would remember that night and recall his own account of the drawings and story I had told him that night.

This event was quite a few years ago, my family was returning to Illinois after a vacation in Texas. As driving north south of a Village called Alligator, Mississippi. What I recall a 2 lane highway in daylight to my left two objects, flat color disk shaped, black with a clear center.
Not your typical saucer expectation. My wife was alarmed and urged me to slow down and let them pass. Soon a veered to the left and went out of sight.
Did not appear to be much or 20 foot in dia. and fairly flat. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date is approximate.
