three lights in triangle shape bright flashing and incredible movement Fall of 1974, I was doing school homework in my bedroom (across the hall from my parents room). My mother always looked at the sky before closing her bedroom curtains at night each evening. On this night, she called me to look at something in the sky that she thought was strange.

I crossed the hall and looked out her window and saw three lights, triangular shape with one light at the top and two on the bottom, drifting slowly across the sky. I told her it was a jet, but she said "no, they were doing something strange a moment ago". A minute later, the lights stopped moving and then began to flash (white flash) one at a time with the brightness of a flashlight right in your face.

The lights began to flash faster and then they suddenly moved at three different angles at an incredible rate for which I know of no craft that could do this. Then the lights suddenly moved straight up and disappeared. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.

The object did not move in the night sky for over an hour and then it streaked across the sky and was gone! At the time I saw this object, I was 15 years of age. I was intrigued with the night sky and loved to look at the stars. I had been waking several times during the week around 2:00 AM and would look out at the sky from my bedroom window.

My window faced the east. I knew where each star should be. On the night I saw the object, I saw a bright light above the trees located across a pasture in front of my house.

I knew it was not supposed to be there according to the time on the clock. I continued to watch the bright light to see if it might be a helicopter or something like that. The object did not move.

I continued to watch the object for almost two hours. All the other bright lights (stars and etc.) moved upward, but this light did not.

It stayed in the same position. Without any warning, the light started to move ever so slowly in a southerly direction. It continued to move very slowly and then all of a sudden it moved faster and faster and then it zoomed out of site, like a streak across the night sky and was gone.

I awoke my father and told him. We went outside to look, but it was gone. Thank goodness he believed me.

Three bright lights positioned like a jet 's landing lights follow the car in Mississippi. Reading the recent reports of a triangle shaped object prompted me to write this. In the summer of 1974 around July 4th, I went with a college friend to visit his parents in Lexington , Mississippi.

One of his cousins and her friend from the L.A. area of California had also come in for the visit.

They were returning to California on a late night flight out of the Jackson airport, so my friend and I drove them to the Jackson airport. After we dropped them off at the terminal, we headed back to Lexington. There was a road that ran adjacent to the Jackson airport that lead to the highway back to Lexington, and we were driving on this road.

Far ahead, just above treetop level, there were three very bright lights that were positioned like landing lights on a commercial jet. The two outer lights were like the ones on a jet's wings, and the center at a slighty higher position, like the nose landing light. We friend and I both observed the lights because of their brightness.

I said they must be landing lights. We continued driving down this road and became even more curious because the lights hadn't moved at all. That ruled out their being on a jet so my friend said they must be on the sides and top of a large water tower.

We came to a stop sign and needed to turn left. The lights were directly in front of us, maybe 50-100 feet above the treetops, in this heavily wooded area. There were no street lights or buildings around and it was very quiet.

We had the windows rolled down in the car and the radio was not turned on. We sat there looking at the lights wondering what they could be. They were so bright that you couldn't see what was behind them or what they were connected to, much like when you approach a parked car in a dark area and it has its headlights on.

You can't see the car at all, only the bright headlights. My friend was driving and went ahead to make the left turn. The road we were turning onto was a four lane, divided road with a dirt and grass median between the lanes.

He pulled across the two lanes that were headed in the opposite direction, across the median area, and then turned left onto the shoulder of the lanes we needed to use. He then stopped the car with the foot brake and sat there withthe engine idling. Now the lights were on my left, as passenger in the car.

I stared out the window at them and started to become a little frightened because this was unlike anything I'd ever seen. After a short time, my friend took his foot off the brake and started idling slowly down the shoulder. After we had rolled only 5-10 feet, the lights suddenly rotated towards us to stay pointed directly at the side of the car, but slightly behind the car.

After the rotation, they started moving beside the car, at the same speed we were going, and maintaining the position slighly behind. As soon as the rotation occurred and the lights were moving along with the car, I went into a heart pounding panic. I was so afraid of what might happen next, because the object behind the lights was big -- maybe 80 feet from the left most light to the right most.

And the silence, precision and complete lack of vibration in its movement was unlike anything I had ever seen. I urged my friend to step on the gas and get the hell away, but he hesitated as he craned his neck to look out of the passenger side window. After what seemed like an eternity, he pulled onto the main part of the road and accelerated.

As soon as he accelerated, the lights stopped moving, but they slowly rotated to always point directly at the car. I had my head out the passenger window so I could watch it carefully because I was so terrified it would follow us. After we had gone about 500 feet down the road, the lights started moving across the road, always staying rotated to aim at us.

The movement was slow, precise and vibration free. When they reached the stand of trees on the opposite side of the road from where we had begun our acceleration, they went down smoothly and disappeared into the trees. At this point, of course, I got a little courage back and urged my friend to turn around and go back to see if we could see anything.

He agreed, but we had to drive further until we got to a crossover the median. We then turned and headed back. I watched the area like a hawk during the entire time, but never saw anything else.

When we got back to the median crossover that we had used originally after the stop sign, we stopped on the shoulder before turing around. I peered into the trees but saw nothing. So we turned around at the crossover and headed back toward Lexington.

I watched out the back of the car until we got back to Lexington but saw nothing else. Neither my frind nor myself had anything to drink and didn't use any drugs. We were completely clear headed and lucid when all this occurred.

I was followed at close range by an object with 3 very bright lights near Jackson, Miss. On about the 15th of May '74 I was visiting a friend who lived in Lexington, Miss. His cousin was also visiting from Los Angeles.

She was taking a late night flight back to L.A. and we took her to the Jackson airport to catch her plane.

After we left the airport we drove back to Lexington. We were only a couple of miles or so from the airport when we noticed 3 very bright lights far ahead of us just above tree level. They were so bright that we couldn't see what was behind them.

The lights were arranged like the landing lights on a 727, with equal spacing between them, but the center was a few feet higher than the outer two. They were very bright white, like the color of halogen lights. I thought it must be a jet coming into the airport, but they were only a bit above tree level, which puzzled me.

My friend, Bill, and I were both puzzled when after a few minutes of driving toward the lights they hadn't moved. We came to a rural intersection where the road we were on "T'd" into a larger, divided highway. We stopped at the stop sign at the intersection and just sat there for a few minutes trying to figure what they were.

At this point, the lights were directly in front of us, shining directly at us, and they were so bright that we couldn't see what they were mounted on. We were away from any town and there were no other cars or streelights. We eventually decided to continue on back to Lexington, and to do so we had to turn left onto the divided road.

We pulled across the highway and median (which was paved at that point so you could turn left onto the divided road) and stopped on the highway shoulder. The lights were on my right (I was the passenger) and I stared at them out my window, still puzzling about what they could be. We were neither drunk nor stoned, the windows in the car were rolled down, and the radio was off.

There was no sound except the idling car engine. Bill took his foot off the brake and let the car idle down the shoulder. At that point, the lights rotated very slowly and with such pr! ecision of movement I've never seen.

There was no sound. The lights rotated so that they were pointing directly at the car, and as precisely as they had rotated to stay pointing at the car, they now travelled beside us at the same elevation they had been and not more than about 300 feet away from us. They travelled alongside the car at the same speed we were moving, still idling down the shoulder.

I have never been as scared as I was then, because it was clear to me that this craft, which we still couldn't see because of the intensity of the lights shining directly at us was following us. I urged Bill to "floor" the car and get the hell out of there, because it was so obvious that this thing was intentionally flying next to us and had responded to our movement. I had no idea what might happen next, but I was so scared that all I wanted to do was flee.

Bill eventually accelerated gradually and pulled off the shoulder into the right most lane. The lights still stayed beside us. After a couple of minutes of this the car picked up speed.

The lights ceased flying beside us but rotated again so that they always pointed toward the car. Then their altitude decreased and they crossed over the highway at very low altitude, maybe 20-30 feet above the roadway, went directly over the trees on the opposite side of the road and went straight down into the trees and disappeared. At this point, I got my courage up and asked Bill to turn the car around and go back.

We came to a crossover in the median, did a U-turn and headed back. We got all the way to the intersection where we had turned originally, but never saw them again. We turned around again and headed toward Lexington.

When we eventually came to a gas station that was open we pulled in so I could use the pay phone to call the Jackson Airport FAA. My father worked in radar for the FAA in Texas, and he had told me that they sometimes received calls about sightings but usually just blew them off, so I was prepared for what the controller I spoke with said, which was "oh it ! was prob ably a helicopter or something." However, I knew it wasn't any kind of aircraft I'd ever seen because of the incredible precision with which the lights moved and the total silence.

I have told some friends and family about this, but I've never reported it because I didn't know who to tell. Last night I heard the 21st century radio program where a gentleman told about his sighting in 1936 in Alaska. This inspired me to dig out an old journal where I had written about this.

I got your website from the radio show and I decided to tell this story. I've never had another experience like this, although I've promised myself that if I ever was priveleged to have another I wouldn't panic and try to get away.

Round disk seen in field across from home in the 70's. I am reporting a story my mother told me many years ago and recently retold the story so I could report it. This happened back in 1974, I was about 3 years old, and my brother was 4 years old and my sister a newborn.

We lived out in the country on a gravel road beside my grandparents. Across the road from us was a field. My mother could stand in the kitchen and wash dishes and look out at the field.

She said it was early March and around 6 in the evening before it got dark. She was at the kitchen sink doing something and glanced out the window to the field. She said there was a huge round disk hovering above the ground and it was pulsating a pinkish light.

She kept saying it was huge and glowing. There was no sound coming from it. It never touched the ground and she said she could see no windows.

She said it sat there for probably 30 minutes doing nothing but hovering over the ground. She said that we, I and brother, went out onto the porch and watched it. She sent my brother next door to get my grandparents and they came over as well.

She said they just stood there watching it trying to figure out what it was and nobody could explain what it was. My grandparents went back home and my sister started crying, my mother went into get her and when she came back out it was gone. My mother said it was not anything she had ever seen before or since.

She said nothing weird happened and no missing time. I found it strange that I have always been interested in them and nobody else in my family is.
