Watched star like object on the horizan go up in an arch and then approach me and fly close enough so I could see the pilot. As a police officer at the time I was on a stake out when I observed a brilliant star on the far horizan. I took my eyes off the star and resumed surveilance of a parking lot.

A few minutes later I went back to the star only to find it high in the sky. I then observed it decend in a slight arch back to its original location. I called another officer to my location and he and I sat there and watched as the object got closer and actually came close enough so that we could see the pilot in the cockpit and the instrument lights reflecting off of his helment and visor.

The craft had a huge light on the front (about 20 ft. in diameter) but, there was no light emitted from it. I would describe it as more (DIAMOND LIKE) and that is what we mistook for a bright twinkling star.

The Pilot was deffinatly humanoid and when he observed us observing him, he put the craft in hyperspeed and left the area in an instant without any sound at all. I was never allowed to submitt an official report on the incedent and a check of the locall airport indecated nothing on radar at that time.

Mysterious lights in the sky around Alpine, Texas Myself and two buddies (all college students) were at the edge of our small town, feeding my horse when we noticed a light in the sky, to our north at an approx. distance of 15 miles. We determined this by the objects proximity to a mountain in the same area.

We noticed the light because it was moving all around but not going anywhere. It also caught our attention because there is normally very little aircraft activity in the area, due to its remote location. The light would also change colors every few minutes, from white to green and back.

After observing for a few minutes, we noticed another object to our west at about the same distance, behaving in the same manner. We looked in all directions and noticed two more. One to the east and one to the south.

These appeared a bit more distant. As for altitude, my guess is from 2,000 ft. for the closest two to ??? for the distant lights.

Again, all were just hovering, then moving up and down, left and right. Very erratic. Finally, the lights just went out.

I returned to my dorm and found my roomate was listening to his police scanner, as he was a part time ambulance driver. When I walked in, he asked if I had noticed any lights in the sky because the scanner chatter was all about mysterious lights between Alpine and Fort Davis. I told him "yes", we had been observing them for almost and hour.

On the scanner, we heard the Highway Patrol trying to get the Civil Air Patrol to send a plane out to the area to see if there was an aircraft in trouble. Only the light north of town was being investigated and it seemed they (autorities) were unaware of the other three lights. The scanner traffic concerning the event, finally died out and to my knowledge, nothing was done to investigate the matter.

We watched a UFO at night through binoculars. I do not recall the exact date, as the sighting was years ago. It left an indelible impression on me.

I know that it occurred at night over Houston, TX between 1973-1974. We were attending a men’s flag football league game at Memorial Park. My husband was one of the coaches.

I was seated in a lawn chair watching the game. I saw what I thought was an airplane crossing the sky, but it suddenly came to a full stop. I mentioned it to the lady sitting next to me.

She said she had binoculars in the car and would get them. What I saw through her binoculars (and other people there, too) was actually not just one light, but a string of lights. I do not recall the exact number of lights in a row that I saw, maybe 5-7.

They were close together. My husband was getting exasperated, as the football players all wanted to watch the object through the binoculars. As we watched this object, it appeared to be turning slowly in various directions.

The string of lights would change into a narrow oval, gradually expanding until it became a full circle of lights. It kept hovering for approximately 45 minutes, continually changing shape from a string of lights, to an oval, and to a full circle, the reversing the direction of turning. It even turned so that it was completely vertical, with what looked like flares coming from each light, yet it appeared totally stationary in the sky.

There were no colored lights, just bright white ones. All of a sudden, the object ascended in a southwestly direction and was gone within seconds. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate.

Triangle, colored lights, cow mutilations, disappeared. I had a reflector telescope and was search the night sky for planets. Just above the northern horizon, I saw an odd looking "star.

" I turned my telescope toward it and focused in. What I saw was a triangle (upright) with yellow, blue, red, white lights. There was also a mist falling downward from the object (like you might see coming off a refrigerator freezer in high humidity when you open the door).

There was also a halo around the object. I ran to the house and got my uncle. He looked too and say the same thing.

We observed the object for the next 1.4 hours. It did not move and we went inside after it disappeared (as if the lights just turned off).

At that time in East Texas, we had many cow mutilations and the next morning, the farm report told of a cow mutilation in the same area where we say this object. I did not see the object again even after monitoring the next two nights. Thanks.

I was walking home from the Library at North Texas State University after the Library closed. From a distance, I saw a large red glowing light near my apartment. As I got closer, I thought it was actually a new sign over the local convient store.

When I got under the large glowing light, I realized for the first time it was not supported by any pole. I could not figure out how store could do that. The light made no sound and did not move.

I moved away from the store to look for some form of support. It was not more than 10-20 feet above the store. I was the only one out at that time.

As I was watching the light, it finally dawned on me that it was not supported and in fact it was flying on its own. A guy in a truck came around the corner and pulled over to see it as well. I asked him to observe independently and not speak to me.

We would exchange phone numbers and write our own description of what we saw. We would get in touch with each other the next day and go to the authorities. He agreed.

As we both stood there, the light without any noise moved laterally from the store directly over both of us. I could not see any structure of any type. Just a bright red light.

I picked up a rock to see if there was any structure there but I could not reach it by throwing the rock. It moved laterally back over the store and then back over us. Then in a flash it was gone through the universe leaving a bright red streak of light at a slight angle up.

It never made a sound of any type. The guy got in his truck and refused to give me his number. He said he was way to spooked to ever want to talk about this again.

When I got to my apartment, I told my roommate about what I had seen. He said that that there had been sightings all night and people calling in on the radio talk shows. The next day in the Denton papers, the FAA said that they were using weather balloons and they were all accounted for and nothing else was in the sky that night.

The story died right there. I know there is no balloon that can hover without moving, put out a blinding red light like that, move laterally and then shoot through the sky at the speed of light. I have never reported this to any publication of any kind since the guy took off.

Recently almost 34 years later in Stephenville, Texas there were multiple sightings and many of the witness who said they saw what they believed to be UFOs. They were interviewed on Larry King and one description was exactly what I saw. Stephenville is within 300 miles of Denton Texas.

Merkel, TX

Full Report Text:

Very high daylight disc moving south to north, with no deviation of course or altitude or speed. Visiting potential inlaws (year before marriage)in rural area a very few miles south of Merkel, near Abilene, TX. After lunch, while family members visited in ranch house, I went checking promising areas along small stream for archeological remains.

Found site with surface artifacts a few hundred yards north and a bit west of house, which itself had surficial artifacts due north. Site was across road from area north of house, perhaps 300 yards. After about 30 minutes of exploring, I looked up and saw disc-shaped object almost directly overhead, a little north and east of me.

Note here that surveying surface sites requires intense scrutiny of the ground, and therefore occasional reorientation of the head and neck in order to avoid muscle pain. I had looked up several times while changing orientation, but sometimes looked east, or west, or NE, etc. This time it was due north.

Object was moving due north, not especially fast but easily at same speed as a commercial jet. Shape was perfectly circular, with no visible evidence of thickness --looked to me as if it were an extremely thin disc. It moved due north at regular speed with no variation at all.

Neve rmoved from course. Color silver-gray, as if brushed aluminum. Not shiny or reflective -- gray on bottom, which was obviously in shadow.

No glow, no lights, no features of any kind. As object continued north, it grew more "oblong," that is, its N-S dimension shrank in relation to its E-W dimension, which did change. It looked like a dime held at arm's length, but somewhat smaller.

As it went north, it got smaller in both directions, but it never gave any indication of thickness and did, indeed, seem rather thin in relation to its width. Also did not change color or shade, but did seem to get somewhat darker as it went north. Object disappeared into some high, fine clouds at a point very far north of me.

Estiamte of speed -- 600 to 1000 mph. Sound -- none. Lights -- none.

Colors other than gray -- none. Movement to sides -- none. C! hange in altitude -- none.

Change in direction -- none. Decorations or discernible features: none. Protuberances -- none.

Shape -- perfectly circular but thin, not spherical. Upper superstructure -- possible, just not visible. Lower shape -- unknown; looked flat but could have been either concave or convex; if so, not by much.

Duration of sighting -- about 3 minutes maximum, probably a minute less. I recall removing my eyes long enough to light a cigarette, look around to see if anyone else was in sight, and returnig my gaze until it disappeared. No one else around.

Sky -- clear except for very high, very thin, very fine, long feather-shaped clouds in parallel orderly arrangements that some people now seem to think represent "chemtrails" or other manipulation of the weather. Back then, we recognized these cloud features as being normal for summer or late spring. Object was above these clouds, which according to qualified resources not given to paranoia usually appear in the 30,000 - 36,000 feet elevations.

That means object was higher than 36000 feet and therefore was pretty damned big. Speed may well have been in excess of 1500 mph. No other objects in sky.

Nearby to NE was an AFB with a SAC detachment. No planes scrambled. Note that the object was perfectly clearly limned or delineated -- edges crisply defined.

No wings, no fuselage, no engines, no cockpit, no rudder, no tail, and no question about any of it. No contrails.

It was three lights in a triangle. It hovered. It sat there for a couple of minutes.

There was two other persons there that saw it. One is no longer with us due to his death. It happened in 1974 when I was in high school.

We never told anyone because we could not believe it and did not think anyone else would. I have wondered about it since. After we watched it hover there, all of the sudden it took off over the horizon.

But we thought it went down a couple of blocks over in my neighborhood. So, we went on our bicycles to see where it landed. Then we realized that it had gone over the horizon and not in our neighborhood.

It was an inexplainable experience. This is what happened and there is no doubt about it. It is what it is.

It happened! I have not resolved it yet. I still wonder and don't know what it was. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.

Bright triangular pool rack 100 feet away 10 min. 100 foot length silent radical strobes blue green red hypnotic We were heading home late that night from a ballgame. We were between towns out in the country in the middle of nowhere when I noticed a light to my left in the middle of a field about 200 yards away and about 100 feet off the ground.

I asked what is that over there and driver replied it's probably a radio tower. I looked back stareing thinking that that didnt sound right when all of a sudden it lit up very bright sort of silvery/white. I told driver and we immediatly pulled over and got out of the car.

We were heading east and this object was coming from the north going south. It was traveling about 2-3 mph or as fast as you would normally walk. So were watching this approach straight at us still about 100 feet from the ground.

As it was just about on us they were freaking out saying it wasnt a plane, a ballon, or anything they had ever seen they were getting scared. I was in awe I had a grin on my face from ear to ear I was loving every moment. It was about 100 feet in length and shaped like a pool/billiard rack .

Very large glowing object and then some smaller ones My UFO experiences Although somewhat Old in the early 1970 era the Internet and Forums as this did not exist. My First what I would call unusual sighting was in 1974 at Lake O The Pines,Texa . It was a Nice calm clear late evening night.

Somewhere about 10 PM I was sitting with my 1 year old daughter on the Porch of our motel at the fishing lodge there. The motel was surrounded by pine trees some 70 feet in height and the road leading to the boat ramp was was right next to my cabin. A very large object totally lit up as if one bright light I could see no form of the object, this object was likely 300 ft or so above the trees, it appeared to be fairly low.

It was round and probably 200 feet in diameter or more depending on its actual height. I base this on the fact that it was much wider than the road leading to the boat ramp and that road was at least 40 feet wide adding in the total right of way opened for it. The object went well over the tree lines that bordered this road.

The object made no noise whatsoever, it did not illuminate the ground either which I thought to be odd as any actual light that is near usually has an illuminating effect. It was quite low as I previously mentioned and traveling what I thought to be about 20 miles per hour. This allowed me to watch it for quite some time.

I never knew what it was but it was puzzling to say the least. My second most notable was also in the 1970 era. It was dark and I had arrived at a local eatery where I was to meet my brother and brother - in - law.

I got out of my car and as I walked toward them, standing outside, I gazed up into the sky and thought I was seeing a falling star. Well it was really to slow and did not burn out quickly as most do. Now this light was very high it seemed and appears to be maybe the size of a close star would be , you know maybe just smaller than a kitchen match head .

I continued wathing it move and then suddenly it appeared to stop. What was really odd when it stopped there were four more lights (orbs) identical to it. The four objects appeared to be in the formation of a square, a box shape equal in dimension.

They only set still for maybe 15 seconds and then all four objects or lights moved at the same time with no alteration in the formation. It was as if this moving light had docked with whatever the others were or docked to or joined in formation, but it did seem they operated as one unit. I have seen a few other things but these were the most memorable and the only ones I really had time to actually watch for a period of time.

Watched what I thought was a satellite make an abrupt right angle turn and vanish withing 2-3 seconds. I heard on Coast to Coast on May 2020 a request for UFO sightings even if they are decades old. For the record, this sighting happened in late Spring, 1974.

My husband and I were camping at Inks Lake State Park in Burnett, Texas. We were in separate sleeping bags, and I awoke during the night to find the temperature had dropped, and it was uncomfortably chilly. Having trouble getting back to sleep due to the cold, I took advantage of an amazingly clear night sky with its millions of twinkling stars.

I soon noticed what I thought was a satellite moving ever so slowly across the sky. However, it soon made a very abrupt right angle turn and streaked across the sky and vanished in no more than 2-3 seconds.

A satellite that behaved very unsatellitish I was born and raised in Houston, Texas I am 57 and the first 7 years of my life we lived off the approach to Hobby airport and also Ellington was a very active Air Force base in those days. We moved to the north side of the city just about 5 to 6 miles south of what became Houston Intercontinental Airport now named Bush. When I was about 18 or 19, I can’t remember the exact date but I believe the summer of 1973 or 74 a high school buddy and myself were out in the drive way at my next door neighbor looking up at the stars it was a clear night.

It was about an hour or maybe two after sundown. We took note of a bright light about the size of a star. Noting that there were no strobes, we figure it to be a satellite.

The house we were at is north of downtown Houston off US 59 at E. Mt Houston east about 2 miles from the 59. We at first thought it to be Skylab, but noting it was moving from the south heading north and the news media said Skylab would be in a east west travel we figured it a weather satellite.

That worked for us up until it speeded up greatly. It then went into about 4 or 5 loops then back and forth through the loops it just made and straight up and disappeared into the blackness of space. Total time of sighting was about 5 to 7 seconds from first sighting until it left our sight.

It streaked so fast there was the impression of a light trail. As it was doing its maneuvers it would go bright to dim giving me the impression of a shape like a coin flashing in the bright sun light. If it was a disk then at that altitude it had to be huge and it had to have travel hundreds of miles in a matter of seconds.

That date was over 40 years ago but I can still see it, it shook my buddy and my self up. The first person we tried to tell was my Uncle who snickered at us. We both decided not to tell anyone.

I have through my life but to a select few. I have included it in a book I wrote on the subject. I am by trade a Aircraft mechanic.

A large circular spaceship appeared overhead with large multicolored light panels on the sides that constantly changed colors. After leaving a New Year's Eve party in either 1973 or 1974, at my sister's in Canarsie Brooklyn, about 15 of us were standing around outside, chatting. Then, maybe 100 feet above the 7 story building, a large (maybe 100 ft in diameter and about 30 ft high)) came straight down and hovered over the building.

It had light panels going all the way around that were about 20 ft wide. Everyone looked up and we were all amazed. While driving home, we listened to the radio reports of others sighting the same object.

The next day there were reports that the government response to the sightings was the Air Force was testing a new plane from a local base. This was no plane! After about 15 minutes, the ship went straight up about 1000 ft and then shot off to the north at tremendous speed. It was out of view within one minute.

I am a believer that we are not alone. My wife and I still talk about that night! ! !.
