Texas UFO Sightings in 1982

Four witness huge craft in East Texas. At the time of this occurrence, my brother was 24 years old. My brother's fiance', my husband and I were all 21 years of age.

My brother, sister-in-law, and myself all have IQs above the 98th percentile, are college educated, and are in business administration, mainframe programming, and systems engineering, respectively. My brother, his fiance', my husband and I were riding around in the county back roads late at night with my brother at the wheel, some fifteen miles from the nearest town. We decided to park the car at the end of a dead end road, a well known spot to the local young people, near the river bottom.

Facing in a northerly direction, directly in front of the car was a pasture, then virtually miles of undeveloped "bottom" land covered in timber and underbrush, and used for nothing other than an occasional hunt. As we sat there in the car, talking and listening to the radio, we began to notice a faint glow quite some distance away, which formed a semicircle above the tree line which we were facing. As we watched, the glow began to brighten, and slowly a very large egg shaped object began to rise from the forest at a distance of approximately three to four miles from our location.

As the object began to move in a SSE direction (and closer to us), I became extremely nervous and began to ask my brother to leave. Moving very slowly some 100 yards above the earth (judging by the proximity of the 60 ft oaks), and glowing white much like a huge florescent street light, it had no visible windows, lights, portals, or attachments of any kind. The others in the car at first seemed very curious at this sight, and were wanting to stay and watch it.

I, however, was insistent that we leave immediately, and I soon convinced my brother to start the car. In order to leave the area, as we were on a dead end road, we had to travel due east approximately one mile to the intersection, and then travel south back toward town. As we began to approach the intersection, the object had traveled just to the SSE of the intersection, and had stopped and was hovering in mid air for a moment, and then reversed it's course as if to meet us at the intersection.

We were moving down this small, dark backroad at an incredible speed, and as we reached the intersection, the object had almost reached it as well. The only sound that was emitted was a strange, barely audible humming noise. It was at this point that we realized that this "ship" was approximately the length of a football field, and twice the width.

As we rounded the corner of the intersection and began heading south, the object redirected it's course as well, and began heading south directly behind us at a distance of some three hundred yards. I watched out the back window as we sped down the road, all the while yelling at my brother to "Hurry Up!", and in and instant this huge object literally zipped into the sky so fast that I could not distinguish it from the stars. I continued to look for it, and soon, I watched as it moved slowly in a horizontal direction, then reversed and rapidly danced around the sky in all directions for several moments.

I lost track of it at this time due to the tree limbs rushing by overhead. Judging by the size of the object as I had observed it previously, it had managed to ascend to an altitude of some 30,000 feet or so in a split second, without any increase in noise level. The most bizarre part, in my opinion, is that we had spoken about the occurrence immediately after it occurred but after that night I was the only one who mentioned it again.

A week or so after this event, my husband and I had joined some friends at the lake, where they had a small bonfire and party. I was sitting on the tailgate of our pickup and again it was a very clear night. I noticed something move in the sky, and began to tell our friends of the experience we had had the previous weekend.

As I started to recount the story, I began to feel extremely nervous, and decided to drink a beer to calm down. As I began to cross the parking area toward the beer cooler, I felt the most excruciating pain of my life. In mid stride, several yards from where I began, I felt as if a bomb had exploded in my head.

I had collapsed on the ground and was throwing up from the intensity of the pain. My husband picked me up and loaded me into the pickup, then drove to my parents house just a few miles away. I laid on the den floor, still sick and in extreme pain, while my father applied ice packs to my head and waited for my mother (a nurse) to return from work.

A couple of hours and narcotic pain killers relieved the pain. I didn't mention the ufo incident to anyone again for over ten years, strictly out of fear. Over a decade later, after thinking of that night again and again, I mentioned something to my sister-in-law about "the time we saw the ship", and literally watched the hair stand on her arm.

She had an incredible look on her face, as she told me that she had not thought of that night since it had happened. She wondered how she could have forgotten such a sight, and shuddered as she relived it. Based on this, I then asked my brother (now her husband), the same question.

Again, the same response. In over ten years together, neither of the two had thought of that night until I had brought it up, and then all the details rushed over them as if it had happened yesterday. My husband and I were divorced just thre! e years after this occurrence, and he had never mentioned it to me in those three years.

I have thought of contacting him to ask the same question. I have always had full recollection of the entire episode, and have remained silent due to fear. I wonder why I remembered and they did not.

My dog need to go out. and it was night. and i wanted to see the star.

and the a like large light came close to me and I call my mother and neafew. my neafew and i saw the space uof. that was the only time i saw it.

it had light going off and on. they were about 16 light. like a computer.

and they were 3 person like thing in it . i would come out and they came closer and i would go in the shadow and it to go away. I oneder what they thought of us.

Awakened by hovering disk over residential area. Many years ago, absolutely sober, I was awakened around midnight by a strange whirring sound outside my bedroom window. I walked over to the window, opened the sheer curtains, and saw very clearly a disc-shaped UFO with 6-8 multi- colored lights hanging beneath the disk.

The colored lights alternated their lighting pattern, as if spinning in a slow circle. The sound matched the moving lights. The ship wasn't doing anything other than hovering above the rooftops.

I tried to wake up my spouse verbally, to no avail. I didn't dare leave the window. After what seemed like an eternity, I finally did walk across the room to try again to rouse my spouse.

Unsuccessful, I returned to the window, only to find it was gone. I watched the news reports for days for any similar reports, as sightings were common in the Texas Gulf Coast area. But no one has ever confirmed this sighting to me.

My life changed after that point, though. Strange, albeit harmless phenomenon continue to follow me even to this day.

While driving south on 183, I looked out my drivers window and saw a chevron shaped craft with about 5-6 lights on the bottom of craft. I stopped on the shoulder and got out of my car. The craft was about 100 feet off the ground, moving very slow.

It was traveling about walking speed. It was moving north in the direction of the runway at Carswell. AFB.

It was about 150 to 200 feet across. The only sound was a humming sound like one might hear in a bad amplifier/speaker. I watched the craft as it crossed over me and Hwy 183 going in the direction of the base.

The craft was very dark and the shape mostly was discerned by the fact it was blocking the stars as it passed. It was opaque as it completely blocked the light of the stars. I do not recall the color of the lights.

They were solid and did not flash. Maybe about a foot or so in diameter. They were evenly spaced on the bottom side of the craft.

As the craft passed over going to the direction of the runway, it started to fade from my view. On the west side of the AFB is a Lockheed Martin facility. My thinking was that this was some kind if prototype aircraft for the military because of the location.

I had forgotten about it over the years until I saw some shows about the chevron crafts over Scottsdale AZ and the ones over the Hudson valley. What I saw look almost just as these. The witnesses on the show said they did not hear any sound.

As stated, I did hear a low frequency humming sound. I call my sighting a craft because I could clearly see and hear it and because of its proximity to the Air force base and Lockheed. But since I have not seen any military plane like it since I will have to identify it as a U F O.

It does look some what like the chevron shaped stealth plane. But I am sure the stealth plane does not fly this slow or with only a humming sound. At the time of the sighting I was an Air force reservist on my monthly training at Carswell.

I do not recall if I was on my way to the hotel at the time, but I think so. I completed 7 years in the Army and then was in the Air force reserves. At the time I was in the reserve I was also working as an electrician.

I currently am retired and worked as an Engineer for 26 years.

A black light dome, with some kind of movement within. It was in the early 80's, in June , I think. I had just bought a truck with a cab over camper.

I wanted to try it out and go camping down in Big Bend National Park, Texas. I picked up a few friends and we left out of Odessa Texas about 8 P.M.

It had been 100 plus degrees all week is why we left in the evening, as it was cooler. As we got closer to Ft. Stockton, Texas, we could see big thunder storms building up to the south.

We stopped in Ft. Stockton for a few hours,to visit friends and let it clear up some. We left out of Ft.

Stockton about 11 P.M. We took US385 to Marathon.

There is a road side park about 30 miles out of Ft. Stockton, we had just gone past there. It was 12 midnight and raining off and on, and thats when we saw it, off in a canyon, about a mile away facing west.

It was a huge dome, the color of a black light, and you could see movement in it. This dome was the size of a football field, and it was making a crackling sound, like electricity I was out of the truck and standing by the fence when I realized that you could only see it when the moon was out from behind the clouds. It was cloudy and misting rain, but I wanted to go see what it was, but everyone else was freaking: they said they were leaving without me ,even though it was my truck.

So we left, went down to the Bend. Two days later came back the same way and searched and found nothing. I really wish I had climbed that fence and checked it out.

This was quite a few years ago, and I think most of the people that witnessed it with me have passed on. I have had a few encounters in my life, that are odd. I did have stage 4 cancer but at the present I am cancer free, and my wife , that listens to the Rense Show says I should share my encounters with the World.

Recalled ufo sighting. The object was saucer shaped and it was grey. It almost seemed as though you could put your hands straight through it.

It was hovering behind some trees. 3 sisters saw them ages 14, 16, and 18. At first they misstook it for the air vent of the roof of the local high school, when they relized that the school was in the opposite derection.

When they turned back to see the object it had turned into a light and it streaked across the sky from north to southwest. The stranger part of this was that none of the witnesses recalled this event untill 12 years later. Currently the three sisters hold respectibale jobs and only one is a fanatic of ufology.

I saw an object that closely resembled a star shoot across the sky extremely fast. I am reporting what I saw when I was a kid. My parents had a 1982 Z28 and they used to let my sister and I ride on the back part of the hatch.

We would look up at the sky while my parents drove. I was doing so one night and saw a bright light that looked exactly like a star in the sky. The only thing is that the light would move from one point in the sky to another extremely fast.

It would move across the entire sky in the blink of an eye. I tried to notify my parents and they just blew me off saying something like yea that is neat. It did this about 4 or 5 times I would say.

It was not a straight line back and forth. It would go to one side, and then go down. E to W, then W to NE and so on.

Then it just vanished. I looked for it the rest of the way home and I have never seen anything like this again. I do not remember the exact date but it was in the summer of 1982 in Gainesville Texas while driving West on highway 82.

I have only told 2 people about this my whole life and I strongly believe it was a UFO only because it moved so fast. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that date is approximate. PD)).

My chidren and myself were visiting my brother. When it was time to leave. We all walk towards the car together.

As I"m opening the doors to let the kids in the car I just happen to look toward the corner of the street. When I notice a circle of lights right above the utility pole. [about 10 or 12] I remember I was quit execited and quickly told me children to look.

large football field size craft in Eluess Texas 1982 I was five or six years old at the time. A friend of mine and his dad were coming back from the Bellaire movie theater in Euless. during the drive home we saw a long line of cars on what seemed to be a back road that we were on.

all of the cars were stopped as well as ours. Just to the left of us and all of the other cars was a huge oval shaped craft about the size of a football field. it was covered in lights and moving extremely slow.

it looked to be a hundred feet off the ground. it was so long ago that i cannot remember what happened after that. I know there were alot of other cars there that were watching the same thing.

Im twenty five years old now and have tried to find anything in the old news papers relating to the incident at that time. It happened during the time Tron was in theaters.Upon asking my friend about it years later he acted strange and avoided the question.

Outside my house after work smooking my pipe before going to bed I worked at a TV station and after signing off I was standing in my driveway about 2am smoking my pipe. It was a rural area, a field behind me and my house in the middle of seven. The area was very dark and the it was quiet in the sense that there was a train in the distance, bugs and birds making noise, a few dogs barking in the distance, just a quiet time for me to power down from the day before going to bed.

I was leaning up against the car and just chilling. All of a sudden the noises stopped, no train, no birds, no sound at all. I was puzzled and happened to look up.

There was a dark blue object which crossed above me, roughly cigar shaped. The blue was dark but almost glowed somehow. The bottom of the cigar had a moving yellowish glow, almost like that of a chemical fireplace log.

The object appeared to be large but I had no scale to compare it. It looked to be about 50 - 60 feet length but if it was higher than it seemed it could be larger. The object passed smoothly over the house and disasppeared behind the next door neighbor's house.

I started to go back a few steps to see it again but I didn't. The next thing I remember is becoming aware of my surroundings. I shock my head and looked around, not seeing the object.

In a second or two the night noises were back and all was normal. I wasn't in the habit of "zoning out" , I was not overly tiired, was in my late 40's, in good health witih not kown health issues. What I noticed was that I was still holding my pipe, green ceramic pipe which was always warm to hot to the touch.

I had just lighted the pipe a few minutes earlier and noted with some surprise that it was absolutely cold to the touch. That puzzled me again and led me to question how much time had passed. I could not find a answer to that question.

My watch was in the car, along with my notebooks. I was in the same place and position but a farily significant time had passed, something on the order of five to ten minutes for the pipe to cool down but I had no recognition of any time that had passed. I saw nothing else out of the ordinary and finally went to bed and off to sleep.

I had no idea where how or where to report it and on reflection decided to keep quiet and not talk about it, leaving me open to the reaction of friends and family of being a "wakko", "nut job", etc; "Hey did you get an anal probe, too?" LoL. So I kept it to myself until now. I realize that the amount of time passing makes it virtually a non-sighting if you will, but I thought it was iimportant because the shape of the object, the "glowing" which I can't reallly describe properly, but very unusual.

There were no blimps stationed in our area at the time to the best of my knowledge, the shape was more lengthly and the shap not quite right for a blimp. The night was mild, no wind to speak of, and few lights were around, it being at the time a rural area, at the SW boundry of Houston/Alief area between Houston and Sugarland. I decided to report this just because perhaps it has some value even at this point.

I just can't account for what had to be the missing five to seven minutes, the pipe still in my mouth with my hand holding onto the bowl, but finding it now cold. That bothers me - I don't like not knowing what, if anything, occured during that period, but I know I was not in "control" of myself during that period. The last thing I remembered before I "came back" to normal, was turning to my left to go see if I could see the object again, except I evidently never turned, in fact never moved from where I was.

So I just stood there, not doing anything, not knowing anything for least five minutes. Anyway I hope this may be of some value now. I am 78 years old now and still remember it as clearlly as anything I have ever seen.

I am not a nut case, I read sci fi for pleasure on occasion but I am not a real fan. I am pretty average in every way but I know what I saw and yet I don't know what I saw. I know I have no explanation for it or for the "damping" effect of all the night noises that were present.

I have no other experiences of UFO's but now I have told you this one for whatever its worth.

redish/orange vehicle UFO on AR41 in Ark. near Red River. Jan 31st of 1981 my wife and I with my two daughters went to Broken Bow, Okla.

To visit friends and family of our church that we belonged to before we moved to Hooks, Texas, for my Job. We attended a watch night service and left there at about 12:30 AM Jan 1, 1982, and visited with one of our close church friends until about 2 AM. We left Broken Bow on New Years Morning (That 2 AM I mentioned) and headed for Hooks ,Texas.

We went south on route 259 south towards the Red River Okla/Texas Border, but decided to go by way of DeQueen , Ark . As we were coming into Foreman, Ark. Off to the south of Foreman, we noticed a very odd thing.

Something was lighting up the sky a reddish orange color so bright it looked almost like a huge forest fire. Only thing it was pulsating at a regular intervals. After turning south on AR41 going south we could still see this pulsating orangish red light out in the distance.

We traveled on AR41 for about 5 miles when upon hitting a small rise going back down into a shallow valley we saw what at first we thought was an ambulance sitting still on the road not moving an inch. As we drew nearer, I noticed it looked squarish in shape and had an unusual light display about it that really didn't look like an ambulance that I've ever seen before. AS we got even closer it began to start moving down the road about 15 miles per hour in a 55 mph zoned road, which was only a two lane road with a non passing divided lines.

I couldn't understand why they were going so slow and my wife kept warning me not to pass it . WE followed this thing until we crested the last little hill just before crossing the Red River (Boarder). Just as we crested it, the vehicle ahead of us made a swishing sound and appeared to dart straight up in the air.

WE were going down the hill towards the river and near the Arkansas side two highway patrol/or sheriff vehicles were parked as they would do if watching for speeders in either direction. They had their red flashing lights on while sitting there. As we passed them, my two daughter confirmed what my wife and I saw .

It appeared as though they were somehow not moving. They didn't even move or look at us as we passed them at about 3 AM in the morning and only vehicle on the road that time of morning. We arrived home in Hooks I believe before 3:30 AM we went to bed and woke up about 9 AM that Morning wanting to see the New Years day happenings on TV.

What we heard was from a local TV station that there had been a UFO sighting near the Red River early that morning and near the river power lines and trees were covered with what some refer to as Angels Hair. I Told my wife that I had to go see this so we made the trek to the river to see . The Angels Hair was there and covered quite a bit of things and traffic was somewhat heavy even though the news ask people not to go.

I had my suspicions though and I wanted to check out if what I thought happened did. That is thinking I saw the vehicle go straight up in the air. We crossed the river and I ask my wife to look on her side of the road while I looked on my side to see if maybe there was some kind of side road going off it before the river.

No such turn offs that we could tell off before or even near the top of the rise before dropping off towards the river. I've looked for any kind of a report on this and could not find anything on line . Except on guy on here on the same date made a report of seeing a reddish/orange light that he says he saw but his I believe he said his sister saw nothing what he did.

Was just wondering if it might have been possibly the same vehicle or thing he saw.
