Florida UFO Sightings in 1982

I WAS COMING HOME IN DOWNTOWN SANFORD FL. WITH MY WIFE AT THE TIME, WHEN A LITTLE HISPANIC BOY WITH A DOG ON A ROPE CAME RUNNING AROUND THE SIDE (FRONT OF MY BUILDING) POINTING UP TO THE SKY HOLLORING FLYING SAUCER -FLYING SAUCER , HE WAS POINTING UP TO THE SKY I STOPPED THE TRUCK AND MY WIFE SAID LOOK IT IS A FLYING SAUCER. I GOT OUT OF MY TRUCK AND RITE ABOVE MY TRUCK WAS A SAUSER ABOUT 300 FT UP OVER ME - IT WAS ABOUT 50 FEET AROUND MABE MORE AND HAD LIGHTS LIKE A SILVER COLOR I HAD NEVER SEEN BEFORE , I COULD (FEEL) REALLY (FEEL) IMMEANCE POWER AND SPEED BUT NO SOUND AND MOVING VERY SLOW.

WE WATCHED IT GO OVER AND OUT OF SIGHT. I NOTICED ON THE TOP OF THE SAUSER WAS A SMALL TURRENT. NEVER TOLD ANYONE BEFORE NOW.

I NEVER BELIEVED IN THIS STUFF BEFORE BUT I DID FROM THEN ON. THAT THING WAS NOT FROM THIS WORLD, BELEVE ME. MY EX-WIFE NOW LIVES IN CANCUN , MEX.

I THINK, I HAVE NOT SEEN HER IN 20 YEARS.

A tumbling football shaped UFO with triangle windows of equal size with a different soft pastel colored light glowing in each window. Surfside, TX in November 1982, my friend and I were in our early twenties. We just arrived about 12 miles up the beach from the beach entrance to camp at around midnight so we could meet friends in the morning at our favorite spot and avoid morning beach traffic from Houston where we lived at the time.

A flashing light was in the rear view mirror just as we parked. The area behind us was swamp so it couldn't be a land vehicle that was approaching us and it seemed to be blinking at that distance. I scrambled for my camera when it became clear that it was something tumbling toward us but I only had daytime 100 ASA film in my 35mm Nikon.

As I looked up from the van, I saw what was an oblong, still silent craft covered entirely with triangular windows and thin black frames around them as it slowly tumbled with no visable means of propulsion or wings, it never made a sound and always maintained the same distance from the ground. It was about two telephone poles off the ground and stood about two telephone polls in height which was easy to determine since there were telephone poles to compare to. Roughly football shaped, each window was back lit with a different soft pastel color.

As it came over the power lines nearly directly above us it took a sharp 90 degree turn, tumbling only in the direction it was traveling and followed the power lines up the beach northward and disappeared into the distance. It was literally a stones throw from me. We scrambled out to see what would happen next and nothing further took place.

BUT! The next morning when it was about to become noon after our friends arrived, we were to go to 7-11. I joked about the UFO sucking the battery dry when the van wouldn't start. My friend said there was a flashlight with new batteries in the glove box and sure enough the flash light batteries were drained too! Really creeped us out but it was awesome at the same time.

Over the years I've shared my experience with friends and received awe, and at times skepticism, but it's always been important to me to come forward. One friend who was a UFO buff said that my description only represented about ten percent of all sightings he had read about and that never had anyone been that close to this particular type of craft. Cigar and saucer shapes were far more common.

I still have a sketch of it I made the following day after I returned home. I could say that is was a religious experience for me.

light and multiple contacts in Bermuda triangle This was many years ago, so my mind not be as accurate as I believe. I was in the Coast Guard on the C. G.

cutter Valiant, which was (is?) stationed in Galveston Texas. We were going to Norfolk, Virginia, for some battle training at the naval shipyard there. I was usually put on lookout, since I had very good eyes back then.

I think we were off the coast of Miami (anyway, I remember it as being in the Bermuda triangle) and I saw a light come down from the clouds. I was looking north, and this light came from the west and landed on the water. A few seconds later, I saw the light continue flying east and up and into the clouds.

I dismissed this as a water plane landing on the ocean at the time, but wondered why it only took a few seconds to fly off again. Then again, it could have been a helicopter that just idled near the water. It was too far away to know for sure.

The strange thing about this trip, is that on another watch in the Bermuda triangle, I was told to report all boats and ships in the area because there where multiple contacts on the radar. I thought the guys were pulling my leg, because it was a clear night and the moon was shining bright, but there was nothing but smooth water on the ocean. When I switched shifts to steer the ship, sure enough there was multiple contacts on the radar.

I thought maybe a school of whales, but we never saw any break the surface. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the event is approximate. PD)).

Light beamed over top and front of car I was a lifeguard at Lake City Country Club during my freshman year at college. After work, my girlfriends and I would go to a cul de sac in the back of the country club to hang out and party. They were building new homes back there, but none were completed.

The road was completed and allowed for some privacy, as few cars ever drove by. That night we, (there were three of us in the front seat), were just pulling up to the back of the "cul de sac"(before having any drinks), when a bright light came over the top of the car. The three of us were unable to move, it was like we were frozen in time.

We were facing forward and we were unable to communicate or move. I guess during this time the car shut off. We all came out of this trance at the same time.

We all began to cry simultaneously and I tried quickly to get the car started to get out of there. At about the same time we noticed truck lights behind us on the main road leading to the "cul de sac". The truck passed and we left as quickly as possible.

What we remebered, we all recounted pretty much exactly the same things, was that the car was shaking, like it was lifted up and dropped. This was at the very beginning I think, so maybe it was the fact that I could not move and because the car was a stick shift, shook as it was out of gear and shut off? When we came back, the car was difficult to start and that may have been the fear, maybe I was unable to simply start it, but I do recall the cassette deck being screwed up and the clock on the dash. We all estimated we had lost about ten to fifteen minutes as we knew when we arrived.

We went to a local bowling alley and got a guy we knew to go back with us to see if anything was there. Unfortunately, we were too frightened and opted to stay down the road about a mile, while he did it alone. He laughed at us and, of course, this became a joke with our other friends.

I spoke with my father about it later that night and he said it must have been something,(because I had not bee! n home on a Saturday night @9:00 PM since I was in Junior High). Anyway, I am 38 now, A Financial Planner, sane individual. All three of us grew up to be responsible, educated, professinal adults.

However, I am unable to forget this event. Please, I am open to any insight. I witnessed another similar event after this one, I posted that earlier this year.

3 lights appear in the sky, rotating and seperate. This is a sighting I had many years ago with a friend. We were hanging out on the roof of my parents house, just talking a looking at stars.

It was a clear night and we would see an occasional plane pass by. Then from the SE we saw a dim white light moving NW with another light rotating around it, on a horizontal plane. The altitude appeared to be very high (I can’t estimate an altitude, it was just a light about the brightness of a star) moving very fast.

No sound. Once it crossed the sky (approx 10-15 seconds), suddenly the rotating light separated and a third light crossed their path on a northern trajectory. The light which broke off, I can’t remember it’s final trajectory.

I have since become a private pilot and have studied various aircraft at different altitudes. I can say that it was definitely not an aircraft or any type of meteor.
