Florida UFO Sightings in 1983

Pulsating white lighted craft hoverd over us while hunting. Sometime around 1983 my husband, his brother, and best friend were hunting on Lake Okeechoobee. It was dark and they had a fire going.

My husband looked up and saw a bright light, and just when he said to them, “Wow look at that!” that quick it was hovering right over them about 500 feet in the air. He also said that it wobbled from side to side. His friend was terrified and ran to put out the fire, and then he ran to a tree and was hanging on to it, my husband and his brother were like froze watching it.

It stayed there for about ten minutes. He said that it was oblong in shape, but not cigar shaped, and about 30 feet wide, but hard to judge the size. He said that it pulsated white light.

He said you could not really see the craft because of the pulsating light. It then in a flash shot up in the sky, wobbling, and stopped, and hovered about as high as the air planes fly. Then it shot out 4 smaller white lights and they went off in different directions.

Then the original craft took off and they watched till they could no longer see them. He said that it was if they could hear them, and it made no sound at all.

Bright Light approx 3 miles able to get under it with sunroof open We were leaving a friends home and as soon as the car was facing west on Baya Ave we noticed a very large bright light hovering in the near distance. We proceeded west on Baya to the intersection with US 90 west, a traffic light stopped us directly under the object that was hovering/with the sun roof open. There were many other cars stopped as well.

I knew that many others had to witness this event. The object had a large round ball of light at the front with what appeared to be 2 prongs sticking out of the rear at an angle of 45 degrees, ladder like silver colored things seem to connect the prongs. We were under it for the entire red light, it then made a sequence of beeps (computer noise) is what I called it then and diappeared within 2 seconds completely out of sight.

I did a u-turn at the light and went directly to the Lake City police station where we filed a report. I told the officer I did not want him to think I was crazy, but I was shaking, overtaken by the event. He explained to me that he did not think us crazy at all, because himself and a group of officers were called to a home in south Columbia county where a craft hovered directly over 5 police officers and took off @ a speed as unbelievable as the one I had described.

I still get goose bumps to this day talking about it. This is the only report of this kind I have ever made. I might add the car stereo and lights reacted strangley for a few moments.

The cassette player kept rewinding the same song. The car stalled briefly. The clock lost time.

The object was bright yellow and had stopped it's verticle descent with no apperant decelleration, it's horizontal acceleration was ins The fire-ball was seen to rapidly go verticly straight down from a very great height. It stopped just over the perseived horizon,(it was very black out, no moon or star light observed) It stayed there for a couple of seconds then rapidly excelerated to the south and was soon out of sight. This was on the old aligator highway a few miles west of the eastern tollbooth.

Saw a triangle shaped object traverse sky on very clear night I am reporting this event for the first time, as I have not really considered researching any online articles or sites relating to this matter until now. I am a professional who works in the medical field radiologic imagery (not X-ray). This incident occurred when I was 14 years old.

It may seem strange to describe the exact circumstances of my observation, but you have to see this through the eyes of a teenager. I had a cassette player which was the type that your regular portable unit which was about the size of an elongated cigar box. My parent's house was about 5 blocks from the ocean.

At night, the next door neighbor would come over and she would sit at the dinner table with my mom and talk for hours. So, to play my music and get away from my surroundings, I would take refuge by easily ascending to the rooftop by clmbing a palm tree via the ac unit. One evening after dusk, 9pm, I was listening to music, not to loud on the rooftop, when suddenly, the tape stopped playing.

At first, I thought the batteries died, but I could see the rollers were still moving. I fiddled with the volume wheel, but it was not that either. Perplexed, I sat there for a minute thinkin that the tape was bad or my player was going bad.

I honestly do not remember why I looked up, but I did. Then I just leaned back and stretched my arms behind my head. I noticed something odd, but I could not figure out what I was seeing.

Something to the east and to the North was moving. I saw a dark triangular object that looked to me at the time like a black hang glider up in the clear star lit sky traveling from North to South at a speed of maybe 300 mph or more. It was dead quiet and it was definitely up there.

No lights but it was so clear out, that I could see its shape. Now, Ironically later in life, it seemed to me to look more like an F-117 stealth in its overall shape, but this was in 1983. Whatever it was, it profoundly etched itself in my memory.

About 30 seconds after traversing the peripheral of my view, the tape player started playing music again. It was playing the song as if it had missed the part where the track was silent. Before this incident, and after, I never had any problems with the tape or the machine, until I got rid of the player a few years later.

I do not claim to have seen a UFO or a secret military craft. But what I saw defied any satisfactory explanation to this day. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the incident is approximate.

YIKES! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, AT 13 I PRAYED TO SEE A UFO AND WITHIN 3-5 MINUTES I HEARD A LOW RUMBLING SOUND FOR 15 SEC. AND THEN SAW A DISC FLOAT BY SILENTLY OUT THE WINDOW. Hard to believe still, but I was 13 reading a book on UFO's and prayed to God to see one for myself.

Within 3-5 minutes I heard a sound out the open window toward the road that sounded like a cross between a semi-truck idling and a tank. After about 15 seconds and seeing nothing go by on the dirt road the sound stopped as abruptly as it had started. I then suddenly saw the upper half (the lower half was hidden by bushes between me and the driveway) of a disc-shaped craft silently glide by, it's surface reflecting in the light from the carport.

I saw no lights as it passed by quickly, but there were no windows at all like there would have been if it were a car, and it was made out of what looked like "brushed aluminum". I watched to see if it would come back around the bend of the U-shaped driveway, but it didn't. It didn't back up because my eyes were glued (and heart nearly pumping out of my chest) to the driveway from where I was sitting at the dining room table.

It couldn't go straight because it would've crashed into the carport. It couldn't have gone left because of the orange grove and the porch. It DIDN'T go right because I would've seen it come around the driveway.

I went out after about 5-15 minutes (I lost track of time then because I was so nervous and was trying to convince myself I was hallucinating. after all, I was wondering why God had answered my prayer so quickly!). But I just kept saying to myself, "But I know that I know I saw what I saw and I heard what I heard!".

I checked it all out and looked for marks on the ground in the one place that was my "blind spot"; the place after where I saw it pass the window, but BEFORE where it would've hit the carport if it had continued to go straight. Looking around and seeing only trees with their giant branches overhanging the driveway, and porches, and carports, I stood in the "blind spot" and discovered that the only way out from that spot was UP! A break in the tree branches was just large enough to allow a car-sized (or disc-sized) object to go through. There were no other options period! Then I knew it was the real thing.

Faint light zips back and fourth across sky While standing outside with my dog, I noticed a light in the sky which looked to be moving quite quickly due to it's apparent FAR distance. The light was very faint and at first glance seemed to be a satellite, just a pin-prick gliding in a southerly direction away from me. as I watched it, it's brightness seemed to fade and then suddenly started jerking around in the sky- It seemed to be VERY far away, as I said earlier,(Like a sattelite in orbit) and was making 90 degree turns and sudden stops.

it was very impressive as well as the 10 minute duration of the display. This continued untill a SECOND light came across the sky towards it, though this time it was most definetly an airplane of some sort with trademark blinking lights and flying in an even and steady path. as the blinking light of the air-plane approached the jerky "UFO" light, it instantly darted downward and over the horizon, while the air-plane continued on a straight easterly path.

I observed this looking south/south-east from the north of Tallahassee, Florida.

A beam of light that resolved into 40 to 50 flying disks, outside of our atmosphere, with stars seen through their formation. I was in West Palm Beach, at the Hilton on Singer Island, for a very important job interview, the next morning. Myself and three others were interviewed to be the executive team to start a hotel chain for the King of Saudi Arabia.

I was alone that night as my room partner had his own evening plans. He was also one of the interviewees. I went down the beach about 1/2 mile to a restaurant and had a beer at the bar.

I only finished half of it because I didn’t want any chance of effects the next morning. I walked back down the beach to the hotel, which was right on the beach. Our room opened to the beach.

I sat in the sand to think and gather thoughts about the interview. I was staring at the ocean when I saw what looked like one of those search lights that you see crossing the sky, shining out from the horizon. I thought there must be a ship with a light out beyond the horizon.

But then the beam of light broke off from the horizon and traveled toward me and land. It was now a beam of light flying along by itself. I watched it approach and as it did the beam resolved into disks, as it got closer.

I presumed the light was from the crafts reflecting the suns light from around the globe. As they approached I was able to see about 40 to 50 disks flying in a group sort of formation. As they approached land the formation changed to two lines with ships within the lines, and turned south.

There was about eight large ships and the rest smaller.about 1/4 the size of the larger. I could see the stars through the formation.

These crafts appeared to be in space, not in our atmosphere. As they flew overhead I saw one of the smaller disks fly to or into one of the bigger ships. When the formation reached over land they turned south as if to follow the beach south.

They continued south and as they did, they changed back into the wider pack formation. Their resolution faded back into a glowing beam and they disappeared south. Right about the time they were passing overhead my room mate got back.

I could hear him and so I shouted for him to come quickly. He did but not in time to see any more than the beam of light traveling south. This was a crystal clear, warm night.

What I saw was clear as could be and there was no mistaking what I was looking at. My demeanor was calm, sober and totally clear headed. What I saw changed my life.

I’ve never had any doubt as to what I saw and the memory hasn’t faded. I reported it to a group who’s name was an anagram from Ohio. Teroco? Or something like that.

A fleet of flying saucers passed overhead, changing formation. Why did MUFON squelch this? I was at The Hilton on Singer Island, for what could have been the most important job interview of my life. It was for the executive chef position of a hotel chain the King of Saudi Arabia was about to start.

I was on the beach, around 1AM after a snack, contemplating my interview at 9am in the morning. On the horizon I saw what looked like one of those search lights crossing the sky. I thought it curious and so I watched it without interruption.

The search light beam seemed to then break away from the horizon and was a beam of light coming towards my location. As the beam approached, it resolved into individual dots of light, flying in an unorganized group. Further along the dots became disks or saucer shaped.

I could see at least 40 and maybe 50 of the disks. Most were small but about eight of them were considerably larger. The group changed formation from a scattered group to sets of two large disks followed by five smaller disks, followed by two larger disks, five smaller, and so on.

As they approached what was nearly directly overhead I could see a smaller disk fly, what looked like, into a larger disk at the front of the formation. As the formation reached about overhead they made a left turn and followed the beach south. I could see starts through the formation and there was no sound from them.

I could tell that they were being illuminated from the sun, around the other side of the Earth. They were perfect disks and NOT cigar shaped. As the formation passed southward it turned back into a beam of light of unresolved disks.

I was sharing the room with another executive team candidate named Dan McCormick of Boston. Dan came home from his dinner engagement and as the formation went southwards he returned to the room. I shouted a few times for him to come quickly which he did.

But the formation was just a beam of light by the time he witnessed it. He was not impressed. I had no further contact with him since and never did have contact info for him anyway.

To estimate the size of these disks is difficult. They were definitely large enough to distinguish disks from any other shape. I guess if I held a pea at arms length it might be the size of one of the larger ships.

That's it for the sighting. I filed this report with MUFON back around 2005 or so. Report number 83669.

Over the last five years I've tried to get a copy of my report from them numerous times, with no response. But my last attempt in December 2022, was answered and the response was that there is a case with the number I provided but it's unavailable and zero info is accessible. I have my suspicions about why but I am just in need of talking to people in the know about this case.

I'm getting old and fear my sighting will fall between the cracks. Here's my suspicion; About four or five years ago there was a show, I think on The History channel about President Reagan and his space force. It was mixed with the Star Wars program talks and also about having men on Mars building a site.

The space force was described as 40 to 550 cylinder shaped crafts with about eight of them as larger vessels. But they were displayed on the show as cylinders or cigar shaped, NOT disks. I'm wondering of there's any connection between my sighting and this fleet described on the show.

Maybe the US did build a fleet but they weren't cylindrical in shape. Hence the MUFON blackout.sensitive info.
