Close Encounter of the Second Kind. One night when I was returning home from taking a doctorate course at Baylor University, I saw a light over Lake Waco. At first, I thought it was the planet Venus; but as I came closer to where I would turn off to reach my home street, I could see that the light was more and more to my right.

Therefore, I knew it wasn't a planet or a star. So, I assumed it was a helicopter. Two nights later while coming home from my class, I saw the same light; so, I decided to investigate.

I took the next exit after crossing Lake Waco which brought me into Speegleville Park. The road which was gravel then curved back to the East. But before I could get closer to the craft, it started moving West and then South over the highway.

I decided to follow it as there was enough light that I could see it wasn't a helicopter but was a black triangular craft. As I took the overpass, I saw the craft nestled down in a pasture behind a clump of trees. I drove pass the area and the road curved back toward the East.

I went about 100 yards past where I saw the craft go down, pulled over, turned off my lights and waited but letting my car engine idle, looking into my rearview mirror. To my surprise, the craft arose from behind the trees about thirty feet in the air and came toward me. It stopped slightly to my right, facing my vehicle, and remained motionless, with no sound.

It was just past what looked like a telephone line and on the South side of the fence. As I was looking up at it through my windshield, I could see a cockpit with 3 round heads looking down at me. There was a green hue in the cockpit and the heads appeared like shadows with no discernible features.

The craft itself was triangular about 30 ft. in length and approx. 20 wide.

It was jet black in color. I had been there approximately 5 min., when a green light came down on my vehicle from the craft.

My engine stopped running and none of my lights and radio would work. I couldn't get my car to start after trying several times which caused me to get nervous. So, I locked my doors and just waited.

It was a cool and clear night, and I couldn't do anything but just sit there. Every few minutes, I tried to get the engine to start but nothing. It was just me and the three heads looking down at me.

What seemed like an eternity, I finally got the engine to start on my VW Fastback after about 15 min. of trying. I then pulled ahead with my lights off about 70 yards where I turned my lights on and did a U-turn.

As I drove back by the craft, it did not attempt to follow me. When I got back on the highway, I looked to my right and could see the craft was still there. Having had two years of AFROTC and two years active duty in the US Army, I knew this was no known military or civilian aircraft.

Since it could hover with no sound and remain motionless, I can only conclude that what I observed was an alien spacecraft. About two years later as my family and I were headed to East Waco to have dinner my wife's family, I saw the same light again. This time, it was South of the LaVega football field.

It was sitting still behind and above the stadium lights. I wanted to go investigate; but my wife didn't want us to get any closer, claiming her parents were waiting for us for dinner. Well, I think that was just an excuse as I had already confided in her my previous UFO encounter.

I do have two pieces of advice for anyone reading this report: 1. Keep looking up, and 2. Have a camera or picture phone available with you.

Full Report Text:

Three red lights appeared in the sky, 2 were stationary, 1 was moving between the other 2. At approximately 8:15 pm on a fall night in either October or November 1973, two friends of mine accompanied me in my vehicle on a six mile drive from my home to Henderson, Texas. When we were about 3 to 4 miles from downtown Henderson we all saw three very strange red lights in the sky while looking in a northeasterly direction.

I stopped the vehicle on the side of the highway and got out to observe what was happening. The lights were not very far away from us. They seemed to be no more than one to three miles total distance.

We did not see any type of vehicle or craft shape. Two of the lights were perfectly stationary, not moving at all. The other light was moving directly from one light straight to the other light.

All three were silent the entire time. The moving light would move in a straight line between the other two, stop right before getting to the light, hesitate for a couple of seconds, then move back toward the other light. This continued for about 20 minutes.

During this 20 minute period, while myself and my two friends were standing on the side of US Hwy 79 South, we witnessed an automobile traveling at a very high rate of speed coming toward us from Henderson. As it got close to us, the occupants saw us and immediately slammed on the brakes coming to a sudden stop. The vehicle then turned around, approached us, and parked behind my vehicle.

Two Rusk County deputy sheriffs got out of the car and walked to us. One of my friends had a pair of binoculars we had been using to view the objects. We could see nothing with the binoculars except for the red lights.

When walking toward us one of the deputies asked what we were doing. All we did was point at the red lights. Until that time, the deputies had not seen the lights.

One of them immediately took the binoculars himself and viewed the lights for about one minute. He handed the binoculars back to me and said they had to go to Lake Striker about a call they got about a UFO sighting there. He said nothing else, made no report, and hurriedly drove off.

We continued to watch the same movement of the one red light moving between the other two for about ten more minutes. Then, the moving red light took off at an extremely high speed in a northeasterly direction, separating itself from the other two. In no more than three seconds the moving red light became smaller and smaller and smaller until it disappeared.

Shortly afterward, the two stationary red lights took off straight up at an extremely high speed, became smaller and smaller and disappeared in about three seconds. Neither of my friends, nor myself ever made any kind of report about this incident, until now. In the 51 years since then, I have not seen anything like this again.

UFO hovers over Houston TX, fall 1973. I was at Memorial Park in Houston TX in the evening during autumn 1973, along with my husband, and a group of men and their wives. The men were playing tag football.

I was sitting in a lawn chair facing due south. The game had not started and the men were warming up for the game, when I saw what I thought was an airplane flying from east to west in the night sky. As my eyes tracked it, it suddenly came to a standstill.

I mentioned this to the lady sitting next to me. She said she had binoculars in her car. She retrieved them, and handed them to me.

When I looked at the object through the binoculars, and discovered it was not just one light, but a string of lights in a horizontal position. I did not attempt to count the number of them. As I and others watched, the object appeared to began turning on its side gradually.

It changed, bit by bit, from a straight string of lights to an oval, and then ultimately to an full circle of lights. Other people became interested and also watched this phenomenom. It turned back into a horizontal string of lights, and then moved vertically.

I could see what appeared to be after-flares coming from each light. The object remained there for approximately 45 minutes moving this way and that, and then suddenly ascended within a matter of a few seconds upward and to the west. I have prepared a rudimentary illustration with Adobe Photoshop to show how this object revolved, and yet remained in a stationary position over Houston.

I made no report of this at that time. There was a lot of debunking going on regarding UFOs and I did not care to get involved. I know what we saw.

Only in the past year did I send a pencil sketch to MUFON. I received no reply from them. It has been many years since I watched this UFO in the night sky, but it still stands out clearly as if I had just seen it moments ago.

Other than my husband, I have no recollection of anyone else's name who had been a witness to this event so long ago. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate. PD)).

Close Encounter of the Second Kind It was in late September or early October, 1973. I was taking a doctoral course two nights a week at Baylor University from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. As I was coming home from the class earlier in the week, I noticed a low bright light over Lake Waco.

At first I thought it was the planet Venus. but as I approached the lake, the source of the light was more and more to my right, yet stationary. So, I knew it wasn't star or a planet.

I figured it was a helicopter. But two nights later as I was returning home, I saw the same thing; so I decided to investigate. As I crossed the bridge spanning Lake Waco, I could see the bright light just above Speegleville Park which lies on the west side of the lake.

I took the first exit and went down what was then a dirt road that led to the park. As I got closer, the object started moving west about 100-150 feet in the air with its light off. It was a clear night and light enough for me to be see the shadow of its outline.

Then the craft which made no sound turned south and went over the highway and remained stationary in the air on the south side of the highway. I got back on the highway and proceeded west until I could take the next exit and turned left on the overpass where I saw the craft cross the highway. As I did, the craft started moving south, again, and settled behind a clump of trees.

I crept past the trees but could not see it. The narrow road curved slightly back to the southeast; so I went about 100 yards. pulled over and turned off my lights but left the engine running.

Looking in my rear view mirror, I watched for a few minutes and then saw the craft slowly rise from beyond the trees and come towards me just on the other side of the fence to my right. When it was parallel to my vehicle, it turned facing me motionless about 35 feet in the air, making no sound. There was a small telephone or electric line pole to the left of the craft by the fence which gave me a indication of its altitude.

I observed the craft to be triangular, black in color, about 30 feet long and about 20 feet wide at the rear. It had a small cockpit toward the front and there was a green hue inside. I then noticed three, small round heads peering down at me.

I hadn't been there five minutes when the craft shined a green light toward me. It was then my engine died and I couldn't restart it. I tried to turn on the lights and the radio; but they didn't work neither.

This bothered me, and I started to get nervous; so I locked my doors. We sat motionless, the craft and for about another 15 minutes (but seemed much longer) with me trying every few minutes to restart my engine to no avail. In all, I guessed I had been there about 20-25 minutes.

Finally, my engine started and I took off with no lights on. After traveling southeast for about 75 yards, I turned my lights on and did a U-turn. As I passed the craft on my left, it made no attempt to follow me.

When I got back on the highway and headed east, I looked to the right and could see it was still there. As the AF Colonel in an England forest in 1980 once said, "Weird." (By the way, fifteen years earlier, I had two years of training with the Air Force in the identification of aircraft.

Plus, I had two years of Top Secret Clearance with the U.S. Army afterwards.

The craft that I encountered in 1973 was nothing that I could compare it with. So, I concluded it was a UFO, possibly, of alien origin.).

I observed the craft at close range to know it wasn't manmade based upon my training and experience. In the Fall of 1973, I was taking a doctoral course two nights a week at Baylor Univrsity in Waco. The class was from 7 to 8:30PM.

Coming home in the first part of the week in late September or early October, I saw a low, bright light over Lake Waco. I concluded it was either a helicopter or the planet Venus. However, two nights later, I saw the same thing; so I decided to investigate.

As I approached the bridge going over Lake Waco, I could the craft hovering over Lake Waco just near what is known as Speegleville Park. After going west over the bridge, I took the next exit which brought me down into the Park; but as I approached where the craft appeared to be stationary, it turned off its bright lght and began to move to the southwest. It crossed in front of me and went over the highway; so I decided to follow it.

I could see it settle down in a clump of woods just on the other side of the highway. I crossed over the highway and slowly drove by the wooded area. The road curved to the southeast; and I went up about seventy yards passed the spot, pulled over and stopped.

I turned off my lights but left my engine running. I watched in my reawview mirror for a few moments when I could see the craft rising slowng and coming in my direction. It pulled up to my right just on the other side of the fence not far from a telephone pole.

I figured it was no more than 50 feet off the ground at most. It was black in color, trangular in shape, about 30 feet in lenght and 20-25 feet in width. I could see the cockpit with a green hue inside and three small heads peering down at me.

I hadn't been there more than 5 minutes when the craft shown a green light down that engulfed my little VW Fastback. My engine died and all electrical devices would not work. I tried restarting the engine and tried turning on my lights and radio to no avail.

It was then I became alarmed and locked my doors. I kept trying to restart my engine every few minutes. Finally, after about 15 minutes, it turned over.

I went down the road for about another 75 yards before turning on my lights and doing a U-turn. As I past where the craft was stationed, it made no attempt to follow me; and I could still see it when I got back on the highway. At no time could I hear any sound nor see any moving parts.

During that week, the weather was clear and there was enough light to be able make out tree shapes and anything in the sky. About 3 years later, I saw the same lihgt hovering just about the lights in the south end of a LaVega high school football game. I wanted to go closer to craft to show my wife and children who were with me; but my wife didn't want me to go chasing UFO's.

Having spent two years in the AFROTC and two years in the U.S.Army and flew a couple of times in a helicopter, I knew the craft that I saw in 1973 was not anything that the U.

S. or any country had the time. I even held a Top Secret Clearance while in the military; therefore, I wasn't one to be the subject of delusions.

Full Report Text:

I was driving home from the Univ. of Houston and was at the light near Foley's warehouse (still in same place) and looked up to my front right and saw four very silver boomerang shaped objects (looked like just two large wings at about a 45-degree angle to each other) and they were moving like fireflys; i.e.

, in and out very fast and kind of meeting in the middle. I was very entranced by this and they were extremely clear to the naked eye. They did not move sideways, but as stated above.

I'm not sure how high they were, but would guess about 3-5 thousand feet up, about the height of a plane at the mid-line of take-off. When I arrived home, my roommates stated that there was something on TV that UFOs were seen by a number of people who had called this in. I told them I saw them, and they said they would not have believed it if I hadn't said that as they were in disbelief.

I will never forget it. I haven't seen anything like it before nor since. What was so outstanding to me was not only the shape of the objects, but the beautiful silver look without any glare from the bright sunlight.

I had to go on because the light had already changed for a few minutes, and there were a lot of vehicles behind me. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. PD)).

Dark round object with long trail of sparks following it seemed to slowly float just above our home. Round dark object traveling slowly from north-northwest to south-southeast. Sparks and what looked like debri were falling from object leaving a long trail to the sides and behind object.

The object, when right above us, was about half the size of our lot which is 50 feet wide. Although it looked as though it was not very high up, we could not tell how high it was. As it passed beyond our house towards the city (7 miles away), it looked as though it would crash downtown.

Later we heard on the radio that it had crashed on the Chapman Ranch about 150 miles or so from San Antonio. The next morning the news reported that it was thought to be a piece of a Russian satellite and that a scientific team from Trinity University (San Antonio, Tx) was being sent to investigate. We made several calls to authorities and the airport but no one had seen anything.

What was so strange is that no one that we asked had seen anything either. There was never anything else mentioned in the news about it. It was such a large object that it would be impossible to miss seeing it.

We thought even if it was just a Russian satellite, it should have been a huge news story. My husband and I were professionals working in the computer industry when this occurred.

Farmers Branch, TX

Full Report Text:

Slowly rotating car tire shaped object (no hole) rotated slowly 100 feet off the golf course surface, had port holes. It was summer around 1972 or 1973 and my father who was an ex-NASA employee from the late 1960’s (satellite designer) called the whole family outside to see something. My dad, mom, brother, sister and myself all went outside.

Hovering above the golf course 200-250 feet west of our house was a HUGE disk shaped object. It was actually shaped exactly like a car tire with no center hole. Since it was dusk what we were watching was actually the black silhouette outlined in the brighter evening sky, rather than seeing the clear surface of the object.

The object spun slowly and moved back and forth in a straight line while traversing in a searching manner away from us. It had already passed over our house and was moving away westward. As we watched it became apparent there were round port holes all around it every 4-5 feet or so.

They appeared to be about 12-14 inches in diameter. It seemed like every other one was red or yellowish-white. The object was about 60 feet in diameter and about 6 feet thick and rotating slowly as it slowly came back east toward our back yard.

Its height was no more than 120-140 feet off the ground (perhaps as low as 100 feet). I remember thinking I could hit it with a rock. It did not wobble on its axis as a balloon might but was perfectly controlled like a wheel spinning on an axle.

It moved very slowly (perhaps 5 mph) and came right up to the SW corner of our yard where it paused (about 60 feet away and 100 feet high) before it slowly started reversing direction to head back across the golf course toward the south side of Green Acres Terrace Circle which was directly west across the golf course from our house. When it got over to the circle on Green Acres Terrace it reversed again and came back toward us but only came back until it was about 100 yards away this time. When it reversed this time it went farther away and then came back toward us again but did not get as close as the previous time.

I asked my father, "Dad, what is that?" He said, "I don't know." I knew what it was; a UFO. I told my brother to go inside and get my Polaroid camera.

He said, "YOU go get it!" The object seemed to be almost swinging back and forth as it moved in a kind of searching pattern back and forth across the golf course moving further away with each pass until it was gone within 15-20 minutes. It was rotating slowly the whole time. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate.

Full Report Text:

Huge glowing sphere emerging from night sky cloud in summer of1973, in San Antonio, Texas It has been more than twenty nine years since I and my 4 children saw what I am about to discribe. I heard on the TV news a few years ago that others saw it too, but they reported it, and the local newspaper printed a story about it, only I never reported my sighting nor did I see the story in the paper. But that story is in the news archives here.

After all those years, I found out others DID see it. Are there any others on this site that saw what I am about to tell? If they did, they will know the city where it occured, and you can tell me by e-mail. It was a warm summer night in August (somewhere between the 3rd and 6th) 1973, when my 4 children and I were out in our yard watching the stars in the sky.

The sky was so unusually clear. Soon two very perfect cumulus clouds moved into our view above us. Really perfect clouds, like a Disney drawing.

There were many other clouds far away on the horizon. But these clouds were seperated by ample spaces of black, star splattered sky, and were very close to us. As we were observing this beautiful sight, a huge, perfectly round very huge sphere started slowly inching its way out of the top side of the cloud on our left.

It had a green glow to it like a radium numbered watch. I thought it was the moon until my oldest child pointed out that the moon was to the west, and as I remember it was not a full moon. Before long there was lightening in those clouds.

But it never went to the ground. After a while the lightening started going back and forth between those two clouds, across the star splattered space between the clouds, and all the while that sphere was slipping out of that cloud till it was almost completely out. Glowing steadly, not a flicker but that steady greenish glow.

I thought it might be a weather balloon untill that very active lightening that was dancing from cloud to cloud, struck the sphere and red sparks flew out in all directions at the piont of contact. Then the sphere started retreating back into the cloud where it came from, and it took as much time to retreat as it took to emerge before; till it disappeared back into that cloud completely. All this took about 35 to 40 minutes to happen.

But the strangest thing I can remember is that those clouds stopped moving in the sky untill the whole episode played out. Then the clouds moved on. I told my brother, who was in the Air Force at the time, and he made such fun of me, I never talked about it again.

Have you ever heard of any sightings like this before? Will you e-mail me an answer? What did we see? My e-mail address: ((e-address deleted)) ((NUFORC Note: Date in August 1973 is approximate. PD)).

Stationary disk with lights circling the circumference of the object. I have told only a select few people about this incident, but seeing that another person reported something in July of 1973 in the Oak Cliff area seems to justify this. I was 5 years old, and my parents ran a County Home for foster children awaiting placement in homes.

My family lived in an apartment connected to the facility. I walked out of the front door of the facility and stood on the porch. Above me was a circular craft with lights (green, red, yellow, blue, white) circling the circumference of the vehicle.

It was not a helicopter, as the lights moved slowly around the edge. The only noise was a low, almost muffled, humming sound from the craft. It held its position relative to me steady, with very little side to side movement.

I was young at the time, but my memory seems to be that the craft was approximately 45 to 55 feet in diameter, hovering approximately 100 to 200 feet in the air. I ran back inside the building and called to my father to come look at the craft, and when he and I walked back out approximately 2 to 3 minutes later, the craft was gone. My wife and my parents are the only people who have heard that story, until now.

Bayou Cigar UFO 1973 It was late at night in the summer of 73. It was very hot. we had no AC so the windows were open.

I was about 8 years old and thought I was having a dream. A very VIVID dream. The crickets where chirping and frogs etc.

then the wind picked up and the noise stopped. The wind died and it was quiet. I woke up (still dreaming).

I went through the kitchen to the back door of the house. Our house was only about 100 yards from the bayou. I walked from my back door to a stand of trees about 20 yards from the house.

There was a tree fort in the one closest to the house. As i got to the tree house a big gust of wind picked up and a bright light. after a few seconds the light faded to black and the wind died off.

You could see a silhouette of a cigar shaped object about 50 foot long or so. it was black with no visible windows or lights. It maneuvered over the bayou and after a short time sent three beams of light into the water.

yellow, red and green and they moved in a triangle pattern. then they turned off. after a few moments it had moved up the bayou and did the same thing.

then it slowly moved up the bayou and was gone. I sat staring at the darkness. then the frogs and crickets started again.

that's when I woke up. I was in my bed and thought what a crazy dream. I got up to use the restroom and pulled back sheet.

My feet were covered in wet grass and mud. (NO DREAM) I would not have ever walked out there AWAKE too many water moccasins.

Ufos report in Irving Texas at 2200 hrs. On or about July 1973 or 1974. Myself and my mother her sister and daughter was watching tv waiting for the news to come on, at 2200 hrs watching wffa channel 8 news the reporter said, "Folks, if you want to see something amazing go out side and look over the Dallas skyline" which we did as well as most of the block.

What we all saw was three objects looked like the size of a golf balls from about 9 miles from Dallas texas looking east. At about a 1000 to 1500 feet above Dallas. These objects was stationery each emitting different colors like blue gold red green silver.

It was rather superb looking. After just standing there for about a minute each one started to do bizzar monuvers like one was zigzaging the other one was going up then down zipping from on side of the sky back and forth with the other two, at on point they formed a close circle and went spinning around at very fast speed. This lasted for about 3 min.

When the US Navy put a halt to the airshow as they scrambled two F-8 crusaders which at that time was hot alert aircraft, which ment they was armed with the sidewinder missile, along with the 50.cal guns. They flew from NAS Hensley field out side of Dallas on the southwest just about 6 miles away, it only took about 20 seconds from the time they took off to get  over Dallas.

(I seen them as they left the air station only 3 miles away) never will forget how loud they was in full afterburner, Just before they got on station, the three objects shot straight up in the night sky in a split second. The F-8s made a few passes over Dallas before returning to there base. This left me with a impression that the ufos wanted to show the people what they could do, I know aircraft and it was nothing  that any aircraft or helicopter could do.

Not only did my family see this but was reported by was channel 8 news along with hundreds of people I will say on thing this report is not a hoax I seen other sightings as well but none as this one.

The Odessa Event 100 ft diameter disk shape, dome top. The color was stainless steel. It made no sound.

I sent a report about the ufo in Odessa yesterday Sept. 12. You sent an email back saying you want detailed information.

I said I was a slow typer, so my little sister said she would type the complete event. I had worked real hard that day for the state highway dept. and I was tired, so I took a nap when I got home.

This was a clear summer day, and all the events occurred in the daylight. My grandmother lived in the southwest part of the city of Odessa. As I was taking a nap, she called my wife.

She said, have Stanley go out and look, because there is a ufo heading your way. I lived west of town out in the country. There weren't many houses out there at that time.

When I awoke, I sat and thought about it a minute, and thought my grandmother is very serious. She doesn't tease. I decided to get up and go outside and look for the ufo.

First I looked toward town and saw nothing, which would have been back toward the east. Then I turned and looked toward the north and south and saw nothing. When I turned and looked toward the west, there it was.

Above the radio tower, about 1 mile from my house. My wife and I got very excited, because we knew it was probably an alien ship. It made no sound.

About this time, my brother in law and big sister who lived about 2 streets over came flying around the corner in their car. They were hollering out of their window as they approached, saying "do you see it, do you see it?". When they got out of their car, of course all four of us were excited, and I don't remember what we said at the moment.

We had no camera and they had no camera, and I ran to the neighbors house to borrow a camera and they weren't home. Then as we watched it, we were all amazed and I said, wait a minute, I think that's a radio tower! So I went to my car, I turned the radio on and started scanning all of the channels. Then in our amazement, we came across a station, and my wife said it was KBZB, to the best of her memory.

But of course you have to realize this was about 32 years ago. We were really shocked when we heard the disc jockey saying that they had a ufo above their radio tower causing static. So we kept listening to his reports and watching the ufo, and I decided to go inside and look up the phone number of that radio station.

I did get the disc jockey, and I don't remember his name. I did ask him if his radio tower was out on west university and he said, yes that's our radio tower. I said, we're looking at the ufo that you're talking about.

I don't remember what else I said at the momet, but in a little while I hung up and went back outside with everybody else. Already the ufo had been over the tower about 20 to 25 minutes. My brother and law and I started having the discussion of driving to the ufo, which was about 1 mile from my house.

So we tried getting to the tower by going down different dirt roads and couldn't reach it from that direction. So we drove to the main highway, which is west University and found a road which led to a little road which goes to the radio tower. Whether or not the ufo would have interefered with the elctric system of the car, I do not know because we killed the car and stopped at the beginning of the little road that led to the ufo.

We were probably about a half mile, maybe a little farther, from the ufo. The color of the ufo was a stainless steel. My brother in law and I sat there and started having the discussion of whether or not to drive up to the ufo, which we could have done.

We actually decided not to drive under the ufo, because we thought we might get a flight we did not want. I don't recall what we said during the time we sat there but gradually the ufo moved from the radio tower to the north, it made a 90 degree turn and drifted off toward the west, out of sight. We drove back to my house and they were no longer reporting the ufo on the radio station.

I called the radio station again and got the same disc jockey and said, why did you stop reporting about the ufo, and he said that the government told them to shut it down or lose their license. He said, I will tell you something else though. Our electrician went out there to check on why we were having static, and when he got back he was so excited and disturbed that we had to take him to the hospital to get him a hypo to calm him down.

He said there were hyroglyphics on the bottom of the ufo. So I hung up after that discussion and later on I called him back one more time and he said one of the t.v.

stations had pictures of a ufo above the street lights on west university at night and the government confiscated their pictures and told them to be quite or lose their license. He said that he didn't want to talk about it anymore, because he was afraid he would get in trouble. This completes my version the best I remember of this event, and it is the truth.

There were five witness, and I have thier names and occupations on the original report. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting event is approximate. PD)).

Odessa, TX

Full Report Text:

Confirmation of Odessa, TX sighting in 1973 I am filing this report in confirmation of the same sighting reported by my husband, ((name deleted)). We lived west of Odessa, TX at the time. My husband's grandmother (now deceased) called and asked to speak to Stanley.

She said she wanted him to go outside and look at the UFO she had been watching that looked like it was close to our area. After talking to her we went outside and looked to our west. There was a huge, building size, silver, saucer shaped object with what looked like an upside down cereal bowl on top of it hovering in the sky about a mile from our house.

We had been outside just a few minutes when my brother-in-law, Jim (now deceased)and my sister-in-law, Georgia, screeched their car into our driveway to ask us if we had seen "it". We all looked at it for a few minutes and then Stanley and Jim decided to ride down the road and see if they could get close enough to tell anything about it. Georgia and I just sat there and watched it.

It didn't move at all. it just appeared to be sitting over a radio tower. When Stanley and Jim came back to the house about 30 minutes later they told us that they stopped at the entrance to the dirt road leading to the radio tower because they were afraid if they went closer they might get picked up and taken on a ride they didn't want to take.

We got the radio and tried to listen to the news and see if anyone else was reporting this or watching it. We finally found an announcer on KBZB radio station that was talking about all the static they were having on their radio transmission and how they were sending a trechnician out to the tower that was having trouble to see what as wrong. Stanley called the station and was asking where their tower was.

The disc jockey was talking to him on the air and we could hear the whole conversation on the air while we were outside still watching the saucer. The disc jockey confirmed it was their tower where the saucer was. Stanley hung up and came back outside to watch.

Almost an hour after we started watching it the saucer began to move toward the North. It made a turn that was a 90 degree angle and slowly moved off until it was gone. No flashing speed, just slowly drifting away.

The radio station had stopped broadcasting anything about it so Stanley called the disc jockey back and asked him why did they stop telling about it, what happened? The disc jockey told him that their technician got to the tower and when he saw the size of the saucer over the tower he went into shock and left. He said they had to take him to the emergency room and get him medicated to calm him down. The disc jockey also told Stanley that he had been contacted by someone claiming to be with the federal government who told him if he didn't want the radio station to lose it's license and be shut down he better quit talking about what happened.

He said he was told "Just be Quiet about it". But we were all there, and saw it happen before sundown on a bright, summer night. I had never seen anything like it, and don't know what it was for sure, but I know it was really there.

Tellapathic communication with ufo at five years old. Disc came from the west coverd in moss for camoflage it stoped to hover almoast over head speeking message tellapathicly. It was early on A summer day, 1973.

I was five years old. I was siting on A red swing, I remember looking out to the west at the tops of the trees at what I thought must be an airplane. As it grew larger the closer it came, I reolised it was not an airplane.

It was A disc A ufo coverd in moss slowly aproaching me hovering maby 30 feet over my head as it stoped almost directly over me. My reaction was total amaizment then fear. The disc was and looked man made.

A dark metallic color, it had rivets around it's seems and was coverd in green moss. It had window port holes around the craft and measured about 15 feet from end to end. It looked exactly like the metal used to make ww2 airplanes compleet with rivets around its edges and port holes.

It made A noise, A low, wumm wumming sound like some engine making A revolution. Then it spoke to me in my head, it said do not be afraid we'r from the government. Don't try to move you'r parolized, don't tell you'r mom or dad cause they'll think you'r crazy.

Then the noise increeced, the rotation sound going from low to high piched and then it started moving slowly at first then increecing its speed untill it was gone into A line of white light.

06/15/1973+/- lubbock lights formation, Weslaco Texas, 10 +/- seconds, white light At or around 1973 and around 23:00hrs, I remember being woken up by a neighbors car that seemed not to have mufflers, or a large hole in the exhaust system. My father had this central fan that sucked air from the outside in and I remenber the window was open and cool night air coming in and it was plesant so it had te be late winter to early fall or in between being in Weslaco Texas(Tip of Texas). I remember looking out towards the open field and there was a lone tree directly in the middle of this 4 to 5 acre field with the cemetary across on the other side.

I must of been about 9 to 13 years old. I remember looking up at the sky as I pressed my face up against the screen window. and I saw what look like the Lubbock lights, the old thing is that I remember the V shape with lights in a single formation of 2 rows with single lights making the V formation.

It did not make a single sound. I was amazed and just remember it here and there. My kid is in college and brought it up, and that is how I came to this web sight.

I also remember the lights being sort of white to off white. It was not going slow of fast, so I don't recall a speed, but it was easy to follow till it was out of my sight. It just went in a straight line from north to south.

Saucer shaped object with glowing orange light that vanished behind a solitary cloud in broad daylight. I was about 8 or 9 years old and was with my sister's female friend who was 18 years old and we were standing near the bay about 3:00 in the afternoon when something caught both our attention in the sky, without looking at each other we said at the same time "do you see that?", we saw way up in the sky a saucer shaped object that was light colored with a orange glowing light underneath it. This object was flying in the air and then changed course and went straight up at an angle into a small isolated cloud and never came out.

We also saw a small airplane in the same vicinity and wondered if the pilot had seen it too.

Austin, TX

Full Report Text:

Played with by a UFO Returning from an night practice low level photo training mission in a RF4C as we were nearing Austin, Texas, at as I remember around 15,000ft, I noticed in the distance a light that would instantaneously and abnormally change positions ahead and below me. I asked my Weapons Systems operator behind me if he happened to notice that and he responded very positively that he did. It was a clear and beautiful evening with no clouds and a bright moon.

I told my back seater that I would maneuver to try to intercept what ever it was doing that. It wasn't long before what ever it was was seemed to be playing games with me for it would be here and there and when I would go towards where ever I thought it would be, it would be gone. We continued this for maybe a few minutes and by this time were somewhere Northwest of Austin and somewhere around 10,000 to 15,000 for our directions and altitudes kept changing due to this light in the sky I was trying to catch up with.

Suddenly in the distance before me the light made a tracking 180 degree turn and was obviously returning directly headon into us. I made a comment to my back seater "Damn "___" I think we've pissed it off. I pushed the stick rapidly forward to avoid what I thought surely was going to be a midair collision.

The instant I knew we had avoided the collision, I immediately went into afterburning to initiate a high g turn for that really angered me. It may have just been my imagination, but as whatever it was we had just missed seem to give our aircraft a compression push downward. That may have been from my own action of abruptly pushing the stick forward and then going into afterburner.

To continue, craning my head back during the high g turn, there is no doubt to me I saw an eerie blue glow quickly fading away from me. For a brief a moment I thought the thing was gone and my back seater and I began a rather spirited conversation about the preceeding events. I made calls to other aircraft in flight as well as both control towers in the area, BUT none had seen anything unusual.

Had almost called it a night when we both saw what looked like a firey crash just off of Robert Mueller airport. I immediately called the control tower, but they said that all was normal and they saw nothing. We circled just north of the airport for we both confirmed with each other what we had seen.

Suddenly, from off the airport the way it went in, we saw a spectacular show of something shooting into the sky to the north. I again called the control tower but they saw nothing. I pushed the throttle forward and flew in the direction of the thing we saw leaving the ground.

Suddenly before us and about over the city of Georgetown, the most amazing thing I have ever seen in my life happened. This thing we were pursuing stopped in mid air and lit up like with flashing lights and what looked like a classically described UFO, Oval in shape with portals and flashing and beaming lights coming from it. My backseater and I confirmed together all we were seeing.

I told my back seater, as I remember, "---" this is too much. We need to bring this thing down -- it is too important to let it escape. I am going to try to give it a glancing blow and think we will be ok, but be ready to eject if you have to.

I again went into afterburner and aimed for that UFO. It suddenly went completely dark and the next thing we knew, we watched as it left an almost vertical path upward and we knew at the speed it was going, there was nothing we could do about it. Within a few seconds it was gone and mixed in with the heavenly stars above.

Our fuel by this time demanded we land. We did not make a report. What was there to report that just the 2 of us experiencedd??? YES, we are being monitored and examined by a superior existence somewhere in this Universe.

Texas City, TX

Full Report Text:

Bright Burning Light Half Oval Object and 2 1/2 hours of lost time Sighting in Texas City, Texas May 1973 500 Lights On Object0: Yes My friends and I were hanging out in my front yard. It was May of 1973 in Texas City, Texas. I was 11 or 12.

It started getting dark. Everyone dispersed after an hour or so. I stayed outside and set quietly on the grass in front of our new house.

Directly across the street lived a family, I will call Cark. I could see in their front window. The family was all sitting around the TV.

Their family room was brightly lit. Envy welled up in me. I so wanted a normal family life.

My step-father was a drunk. There was a lot of dysfunction in my house. I diverted my attention to the sky.

It was an unusually cool spring evening with little or no humidity. The sky was bright with what looked like a trillion stars. The pollution was non-existent from the refineries that were close by and the air was light and crisp.

I closed my eyes and listened to the sounds of the bugs and distant cars. All of a sudden there was an abrupt silence that fell over the area where I sat. Wh! en I opened my eyes, I noticed something hovering over the Cark’s house.

I couldn’t make out a shape, because it was so bright. Later I remember thinking that it had a half oval shape. I remember feeling like I was getting a tan on my face.

I couldn’t move and I didn’t even feel like I could blink. I tried to open my mouth to holler at someone in my house, but I couldn’t utter a sound. My mind kept saying that I was not seeing what I thought I saw.

The last thing I remember was a feeling of terror. It seemed like a minute or two had passed and I found myself standing about three feet from where I was originally sitting. The bright object was gone and the Cark’s were back to watching their family show together.

The sounds of the late spring night had returned and I felt a chill go across my body. I turned and ran into the house. I went straight to the bathroom to wash my hands.

I felt dirty and kind of sticky. When I looked up in to the mirror, I saw my face. It looked like I had been at the beach all day long.

It didn’t hurt, but I put aloe vera gel on it anyway. I went in to the kitchen to get a glass of water and noticed that the clock showed the time to be 10:30 p.m.

I immediately went in to my room to confirm the time on my alarm clock. My alarm clock said the same thing. "There is no way 2 ½ hours could have past," I thought.

It seemed to me to have been no more than five minutes. I walked around the house to tell anybody, but my step-father was passed out, m! y brother and sister were asleep and mom was at work. Fear overwhelmed me and I ran in to my room, jumped in my bed and put the covers over my head.

I thought about it for a couple of days afterwards. I even asked the Cark boy that was my age, if he heard or saw anything. He said that he didn’t.

I didn’t think about it again until 1988 when I had an out of body experience hovering over my self and my new baby while we slept in bed. A bright light came in to the room. It was pitch black outside, but it looked like broad daylight in my room.

The fans stopped and it there was no sound at all. The next thing I knew, I was back in bed and it was pitch black dark in my room. The fans were blowing and I closed my eyes and went back to sleep.

In 1990 I had a child and needed a C-section. After my surgery and recovery the doctor asked me when I had my fallopian tube and ovary cut out. I told her that I never had that kind of a surgery.

She documented the information and had nurses verify. When I told my family, they said that the doctor had probably accidently cut them out during the C-section. I bought the idea.

Since then, I have spoken to friends of mine who are doctors and they said that it was highly unlikely that one fallopian tube and ovary would have been cut out on accident by the doctor. I have recently been writing in a journal I started in 2006 and as I came up to the 1970’s, my recollection of the May 1973 event became refreshed in my mind. I did not feel the need to report this until, my 22 year old daughter who I have told the story, told me about a case called Dortery (sp) that occurred in a near by city of Alta Loma, Texas, in the same year of 1973.

I don’t know if there is a correlation, but ! I wanted to give all of my truthful recollection and let the professionals make that determination. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that date is approximate. PD)).
