UFOs seen in Ft. Wayne Indiana and in Dayton Ohio on the same night in 1987 I was working on a master's degree in music ((deleted)) at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I was going home to Dayton, Ohio for the week-end so it was probably a Friday.
I am not sure of the date-it was cold outside and I think in late fall when this occurred. I wish I had written down the date. I had traveled the same route at least 50 times since I was married and tried to get back to Dayton every other week-end.
I was coming out of Ft. Wayne around midnight on Rt. 30 (33?).
There is a long stretch there where there is a McDonalds. Up ahead of me I saw a huge bright white light that was about the height of lights at a football stadium. I wondered what it could be since I had never seen it before traveling this route.
It came closer and closer moving slowly. I pulled off of the road into the McDonald's parking lot and got out of my van and stood watching it. It appeared to be very large with the white light on the front and it had a green, a red and a purple light on the body of it.
It was large and flew slow and silently. I know this sounds weird but I could not make out the shape of the craft even as close as I was to it. I could only see the lights and from the spacing of the lights I knew it was very large.
It flew slowly towards Ft. Wayne and then disappeared out of sight. I looked all the way back to Dayton that night hoping to see another but did not.
My husband and I owned a Book Store in Dayton called Aragon Bookshop. I went with my husband the next day to work in the store. Around noon a woman came into the bookstore and asked excitedly if we had a UFO section of books.
I said yes and got up to show her where the books were. I asked her if she was interested in UFOs and she said "not until last night." I asked her what had sparked her interested the night before.
She said that her and a friend had seen a lot of UFO's late at night. She said that they were driving near Wright State University when they saw them. When I asked where she said they were near where all the construction was going on near Colonel Glenn Highway.
She said her and her friend observed them for several hours. She said that they were afraid to leave to go tell someone as they thoug ht they might not be there when they came back. She said they had a bright white light on the front and that they had a green, a red and a purple light on them.
She said they would hover and move slowly and then they would zoom off and disappear out of sight traveling at a high rate of speed. She said there were a lot of them. She said that the next day she called her relative who was a Colonel at Wright Patterson Air Force Base which is close by where she saw the UFOs' She described the crafts and he said that there was nothing that the military had that could do what these UFOs did as she described it to him.
I relayed my sighting to her of the night before in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. We marveled at the coincidence of seeing the same type of craft in 2 distant locations on the same night.
She bought some UFO books and left. I often wished I had gotten her name and address so that I could contact her again. One other little tidbit of information: When I was 19 years old in 1967 and attending Wright State University I lived off of Linden Ave.
with a nice lady who let me stay there in exchange for taking care of her children from time to time. There was a little store on Linden Ave. that I frequented to buy food, stamps and etc.
There was a young man who worked there who I became friendly with. One time he asked me if I would like to go see the aliens that were at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He said that his father was a higher up in the military there(I think he said a Colonel) and that his father had taken him to see them before since he had a security clearance to where they were being kept.
he said he could get me in if I wanted to see them. I was scared to go and declined his offer. I have regretted that many times since then.

Sighting of disk-shape object, lost time, possible after-effects. Myself & a date were driving home and were approximately 2 blocks from my house, when the car stopped in front of what was at that time a corn field. All I remember is looking to my right out the window and seeing a large disk-shaped object hovering approximately 50 feet in the air over the field.
I could only see the underside of the object, but it was radiating a pink light which lit up the whole car. I remember a very powerful vibrating humming sound which sent a numbing & tingling sensation thru my body almost like what I imagine an electric shock would feel like. I turned my head away from the object to look at my date saying, "Oh my God.
" as I turned my head, and it felt like I was moving and speaking in slow-motion. I remember nothing else except that I arrived home at approximately 1:30am, and do not recall how I got home or what happened. I never spoke of that night to anyone until about 5 years ago, and I only told my mother and 2 of my closest friends.
Since that time I have ran into the person I was with, but have never had the courage to ask him about that night, because it sounds so crazy. Since that time, I have experienced what a neurologist told me is probably a sleep disorder called sleep paralysis. I will be on the verge of sleep, but still aware of what is going on around me and I get a buzzing sound in my head, which progressively gets louder and louder, then what feels like an electric wave runs thru my body causing that same tingling & numbness feeling that I experienced that night.
When this happens, I am completely paralyzed, then I don't remember anything else. I either pass out or fall asleep or something. This happened approximately every 3 months until the last year, during which time it seems to have stopped.
I am very skeptical, and have anylized this, wondering if it really happened or if it was a dream, yet it is still so vivid & such a strong sensation. I am an educated person, am not delusional, and am of very sound mind, but yet when I sp! eak of w hat I saw, it sounds crazy, even to myself. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.
We know nothing about sleep paralysis, although it frequently is cited as a source of suspected UFO abductions. We observe that UFO abductions could be an adequate explanation for the phenomenon of "sleep paralysis." PD)).

I saw a reddish colored orb that was "observing lighting show thunderstorms" & it displayed 2 amazing climbs and a huge burst of speed. I was the captain, flying a four engine turbine powered aircraft (L-188) at flight level 230 (23,000 feet) inbound toward Indianapolis, Indiana, thence cleared to Ft. Wayne for the Detroit Star Ft.
Wayne transition into YIP (Yipsilanti, Willow Run Airport, Mich.) That’s a 'standard terminal arrival route.' I was on a heading of about 030 degrees.
Both my first officer & flight engineer were doing other duties when I first spotted traffic at my 1100 position, 10 miles & slightly below me. As captain, I always kept the red instrument panel lighting at a absolute minimum setting so as to have the best visibility outside. I first spotted a cranberry red light.
It appeared as if it were just another aircraft in the clear night sky, no shape or size, just a red light in level steady flight about 4000 feet below me & 10 miles to my left moving left to right at a steady speed of about 400 knots, about the same speed I was doing. The size of the light was just like any other aircraft’s rotating beacon or light, but this was a constant steady light, not like a normal pulsating rotating beacon that aircraft are required to have. I noticed in was headed straight towards a large thunderstorm cloud that was at my 1 o'clock position and 10 miles.
This thunderstorm had constant & consistent in-cloud to in-cloud lighting strikes that really was lighting up the large cloud like a Chinese lantern. The red light kept a steady 400 knot speed aiming right at the storm cloud. Then when it got to within 200 yards of the thundercloud itself, the red light changed course from 110 degree direction to a 250 degree direction, instantly, still maintaining the constant 400 knot speed.
It didn't turn, like an aircraft makes a turn, it just changed course, instantly, like a curser on a computer is capable of doing when you jerk your mouse control quickly left to right. Now it was heading straight towards a long line of constant lighting thunder storms, or squall line, that was at my 9 o'clock position and about 20 miles off my left wing tip. As I watched the light move at a constant speed from my right to my left directly in front of me, it suddenly climbed at a perfect 45 degree up angle, leveled off for a about 2 miles and then climbed again at a perfect 45 degree up angle without any change in speed either time, to an altitude about 3000 feet above me.
It then turned slightly right to a heading of about 250 degrees straight toward a point just in front of the first of a long line of constant lighting thunderstorms. As soon as the red orb got established on the new heading towards the all lit up lightning squall line to my left, this red light went from its 400 knot speed to, I'm going to guess between 2ooo to 3000 miles per hour for about one long second then it again immediately went back to its slower 400 knot constant speed again. It covered that 20 mile distance in just over a second, someone should be able to turn that into a speed in miles per hour.
It didn't accelerate up to that speed and it didn't decelerate back to the slower speed again, it just made an instant jump from a slow 400 knots to a really fast 3000 knot speed, for just over a second, covering the 20 mile distance and then immediately back to the same slower speed of about 400 knots. It was amazing to watch. After being a airline captain for over ten years I have never ever, before or since seen an object under such obvious control that maneuvered & changed speed instantly, at will, so they could maneuver to and observe the constant & consistent thunderstorm light show display.
I watched it make one more turn to its left, a heading of about 190 degrees so as to parallel this long line of constant light shows off to its right side. It was then behind me to my 8 o'clock position. I brought the attention of my other two crewmembers just before the red light made its two 45 degree climbs, they saw that but couldn't see to jump in speed an jump back in speed because it was off to the left side of our aircraft.
It was under something’s control, sightseeing at thunderstorm light shows in the night, making 45 degree climbs and capable of unknown speeds that amazed me to the point that I only thought was to turn off my rotating beacon/navigation wing-tip lights to hide my aircraft in the dark from its view. But I didn't even think to call Indy ARTCC and ask if they had it on their radar. My two other crewmembers really didn't grasp what I quickly brought to their attention, it all was over in 2 minutes.
I saw something amazing, I don't know what it was, I just hope it was from Earth. I was an ATP, flying four engine aircraft all over North, South America and Europe, for about 30 of my 40 years aviation life, and I never even came close to having an accident. I was lucky to always fly well maintained aircraft.
That’s my story.

I was a junior in college at the local university. It was some time in March just before midterms. I was sound alseep and suddenly awoke to a red light coming in through the blinds.
The light was very bright, like fire. At first I thought the apartment building next door was on fire, then I felt a static electric feeling and the red light covered my body moving from my feet upwards toward my head. I was paralyzed and could hardly breathe.
It seemed to last forever, but it was really only a few seconds. After the light got to my scalp it left and the window was dark again. I was terrified, so I called a friend.
I was crying and shaking. My friend told me it was just a street lamp shining in or the brakes on a car. I was on the second floor of a building that was facing another building.
I was at the end of the building farthest from the road. I insisted that it wasn't a light from the street, the red light was angled from above my window. She said that it was just a dream and I was stressed because mid-terms was coming up.
I have never forgotten this light that "scanned" my body or the feeling that went with it. Since that time I have had terrible nightmares of something swooping down from the cieling at me. When I awake from these dreams, I am usually yelling at them and the swooping things have taken on the form of an object in the room.
I don't remember having any different marks or anything after the light came in, but I started remembering events that I had never remembered before about childhood abuse. I'm not sure the memories are real, but the feelings that go along with them are very real. Has anyone else ever experienced anything similar.
I've not told anyone about this incident, other than my friend, because no one would beleive me. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that date of incident is approximate. PD)).
