Appx. 1/4 mile east of SR135 8 miles South of Indianapolis a green ball appx. the size of 1/16 of a thumbnail at arms' distance traveling at very high rate of speed in relative vertical direction at a relative bearing of Upon leaving driveway, I witnessed a green fire ball that was on a vertical trajectory to the Earths' surface on a line that could be drawn between Indianapolis and Evansville Indiana at 5 minutes past eight on tuesday evening the 22nd of December, 1998.
It was only visible for appx. 1/2 second. If it was white I would have called it a shooting star but the bright green color bumped it out of the realm of "common" shooting star.
Local weather was a scattered layer of cloud appx. 3,000 temperature 12-15F.

Green round glowing fireball with short glowing tail, fell slowly from below cloud cover to very near ground level, viewed at distance. I am 40 years old, have been driving for a living most of my life. Novice amateur astronomer.
Have seen few very strange things in the sky but always keep an eye out. Driving north on Indiana Highway 10 into Demotte, Indiana, stopped at a stopsign, I observed a glowing green teardrop-shaped "meteor" or "fireball" for approximately five seconds. Light snow had fallen a few hours earlier and the sky was still mostly cloudy.
The glowing object appeared below the cloud layer a degree or two west of north and, falling at approximately 30-40 degrees from vertical towards the west, fell slowly for about 5 seconds and disappeared in place, not fully obscured at any time. There is a line of telephone poles 10'-12' to my left. Three strands of tinsel are strung tightly between the poles with, perhaps, a 2"-3" sag at the center.
Three strands of tinsel approx 18" apart from each other, the highest strand at about 13' from the ground and horizontal. The object fell below the level of the highest strand and disappeared before it's short tail was bisected lengthwise by the middle strand, from my perspective at about 4 feet off the level ground (in my car). The complete length of the object, from the perspective, was about a third the distance between the strands of tinsel.
I expected the object to hit the ground; it did not. It did not change direction, velocity, intensity color, shape or size. The core glowed more brightly than the glowing "aura" and tail.
There was no trail. The color was like the green of a night vision scope.

I went outside to pick up the trash cans and i saw 10-15 jets heading in the same direction towards two fireballs. I remember thinking it was an Iraqi bomber being chased by USA. IT was a fireball that left a trail and although i don't think it was fire it appeared as so.

I saw a green-white fire ball moving west southwest. It looked like(size and shape) the HailBop comet but, moving much faster. 12/13/93 @ APROX.
TIME 2310HRS. I was standing in front of 3655 Boulevard Place facing West when, I saw a white/green flared light moving rapidly South west out of my field of view. I listened for impact sound there was none.
Unlike other shooting stars I've seen the flare was wider and had a green hue to it. Its overall shape was like that of the Hailbop Comet.

It hovered slowly and silently over us just above the trees on a NE - SW course. It was covered in bright white lights that did not project the light. It's shape was that of a squished Christmas tree.
My mother and I were watching an old western movie when I saw two bright white lights which looked like search lights on a helicopter. Mom and I went outside to get a closer look. When we stepped outside it was directly over our yard.
The ufo was on a NE to SW path. It seemed to hover just above the trees moving very slowly and silently. It appeared to be of a squished Christmas tree shape.
There were many lights which were placed haphazardly upon it. Mother and I differ on the bottom of the ufo. She didn't see a "stump" on the bottom, but I did.
So, I saw small red lights in a single, horizontal row around the "stump." (The third witness saw the ufo the same as I did.) It didn't vere off course, and the area surrounding the ufo did not become illuminated by the lights on it.

Three grayish-brown cylinder shaped objects with no sound or lights. We had just gotten out of my van, when my 5yr.old son pointed up to the sky and said "LOOK AT THE AIRPLANE".
There in the northen sky were three grayish brown cylinder shaped objects moving toward the south. Each one was about the size of a grayhound bus. They were silent, no lights, and they appeared to be spinning clockwise while staying in a perfect "V" formation.
I estimate they were only about 1000 feet up. When we came into the house, I had him draw what he had seen and I did the same. The drawlings were the same.

One diamond shaped aircraft in the sky west of Richmond,Indiana flying from the SE to the NW in October, 1998. In October, 1998,I was at a cookout with 7 friends,at a rural home generally south of Dublin, Indiana. Dublin sits on US 40 west of Richmond,Indiana.
At about 22:30 hours we observed a diamond shaped aircraft approach our location from the SW, flying generally NE. No outside lights other than farm security lights were in the area and none were very bright. There was a full moon.
For about one hour prior to this observation we had been watching a red light in the sky SE of our location go up and down in an acrobatic fashion, diving and climbing rapidly and performing turning motions. That light was in the general direction of Connersville, Indiana. The diamond shaped craft approached from the SW.
Our conclusion as to the shape was based on lights on four "corners" of the craft. There were several lights and they appeared to be on the ends of the "wings" but they were not bright enough to illuminate the craft or the "wings" Most were white but none were flashing strobe lights. The craft flew almost directly over our location at an estimated altitude of 1000 feet.
What struck us was the lack of any engine noise. It was absolutely silent. We did not hear its approach and it made no noise as it passed over us.
It flew to the NE generally in the direction of Richmond, Indiana or slightly to the west of that city. It was visible for about one minute. Our conclusion was that it was a military aircraft because of our relative proximity to Dayton, Ohio and Wright Patterson Air Force base.
Our host told us that he had seen similar objects in the night sky many times before. His home is no closer than 1/2 mile to any other residence and the sky is very dark. There is very little light pollution from Indianapolis 50 miles to the west or from Richmond 20 miles or so to the east.
I am retired military and familiar with aircraft identification procedures. The other guests were all adults about 45-55 years old. We were all sober.

Objects Changed From Oval To FootBall Shape For An Hour 1 silver in color object was seen and observd for 20 minutes moving North to South before it stopped about directly over head and was dead stopped in the air for 5 more minutes before i and 3 other witnesses noticed another object move from and in the same direction as this first object and both were in mid air directly over head and seem to meet there for a specific reason. They were there for about 5 more minutes before both of them started moving together very slow toward the South. 5 minutes later about 45 degress above the horizon looking south toward the objects 1 started to move toward the West and 1 continued on South a few more minutes and then started heading directly South.
We observed the South bound object for 25 more minutes before it was not visable to the naked eye any longer. The West bound object started to get obscurred by the bright sunshine and was never seen again that we could see after about 3 minutes it headed toward the West. Visability was cear and unlimited and not a breeze of wind to be felt.
I did take a look at the objects with magnified eye pieces and thought i would clearly see a high alltitude weather balloon but thiis was not the case. There appeared to be sorta like shock waves given off by the objects and every second they would go from a oval circle shape to a football shape of form. No aircraft of any kind was seen during this 1 hour period viewing these objects.
Louisville Internatioal airport is about 15 miles due south of were we observed these objects and was very busy taking incoming and out going flights till the objects seem to be in the air space of this airport. End Of Sighting.… ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.

Possible shperical object in northern sky. Colors were green over yellow over red. Disappeard, then reappeared west of original location.
Flashing at some points. First sighting was at 20:30 central time. Object was located in north eastern sky line.
Description of object: Possible shpere shaped; top section first appeared green, center is yellow, lower section glowed red. After watching the object with binoculars, it had "drifted" to the east. Then it seemed to have disappeared.
Reappeared (possibly even another craft, unlikely) west of the original position. Approximately 30 minutes later the object rotated clockwise. The red glowing section pointed northwest, while the green section seemed to have vanished.
The majority of the object seemed to be yellow at this point. The yellow pointed south east towards the ground. Eventually it rotated back.
It then seemd to have "drifted" back to its original sighting position. Rotated a 90 degree angle clockwise, then went straight up higher into the atmosphere. It went back to the original colors green on yellow on red (rotated back).
Watching it longer, I noticed something was "dropped" suddenly from it. I saw it fall for not even a second and then it disappeared. The object has sat in that one position for several hours now.
It is currently 03:31 on 10/12/98.

Spherical. Red, yellow, and green lights. Below clouds, yet very high up.
The craft appears spherical in shape seen through binoculars. In the northern sky high, yet below the clouds. Green on top mostly down to the middle, glowing red on the bottom, and seems a bit of yellow in the center.
Stayed in one place the whole time. Is still there currently. Now it is 23:57.
Lights appeared to be flashing at one point. It is not any known air craft, helicoptor, or tower of any sort. It is too high, remembering that it is below the clouds.
The could cover is thin yet quite high in the atmosphere.

translucent craft changing shape and silent My son and myself were at a local high school football game, approx mid october 1998. It was partly cloudy and a cool night, there was some smoke from a barbeque coming over the stadium. We were sitting mid-field when a silent object moving approx.
40-50 mph went overhead. I sighted the object at the 30 yard line and followed it about have a mile past the stadium. The strange thing is it appeared to be triangular yet not.
It seemed to rotate and change shape and appeared to be approx 60 feet wide and 200 feet off the ground. Its as though you could see right through it, but it still had a discernable shape. My son who was 11 at the time, looked over at me and said "dad did you see that?".
I told him I did. I then asked my brother-in-law if he had seen anything. He hadn't.
Its like we were the only 2 people in the stadium to witness this event.
Full Report Text:
I have seen posts with stories similar to mine. Giant triangular aircraft emitting no noise. Its strange because if an air craft so large and peculiar hovered over a crowded area, you would hear about it from everyone.
Right? Then why do I vividly remember this happening when I was 6 years old 20 years ago. Vividly. A dream? Sometimes you remember your dreams in vivid detail and sometimes you can't remember what it was even about.
I would wager that whoever is reading this right now cant remember one dream from 10 years old or younger. What makes us remember our dreams? Is it possible that some people are not remembering what happend just like a forgotten dream? One of two things happened to me, I dreamt of the giant triangular air craft hovering over hundreds of cars or it happened and no one said a word. This being 20 years ago I tend to convince myself that it was a dream.
But I find it hard to believe that after all those years I can recall every detail ! of that "dream" and yet I can't remember where my brain wondered last night while sleeping. If you want to have a serious debate on UFO's or explore evidence you have to take this into consideration. Why haven't any of these giant UFO's made the 5 o clock news? Are some of us "forgetting our dreams"? ((NUFORC Note: Semi-anonymous source.
We are uncertain as to whether this is a serious report, although we agree that it is odd that the mainstream press does no cover the UFO phenomenon. PD)) ((NUFORC Note: Source of report indicates that the date is approximate. PD)).

5 bright orange lights in a line going up the western horizon, slowly moving up the sky, quite spaced apart. 2 of them seem to have exploded at one point and shower of bright white sparks were seen. other lights moved back and forth while moving up and then slowly faded out.
I was heading northbound in my car when I looked to the west to see 5 bright orange lights in a line up the sky. They were about the size of a half dollar at an arm's length. Intensity was a little more than a street light.
I was heading to my girlfriends house and I had to turn eastbound. So I repedidly stuck my head out my window to look back at the lights which appeared to slowly be moving up the sky. After doing this for about 5 mins I looked back again and the lights were gone.
I arrived at my girlfriend's house to find her with her neighbors on the back porch who had been watching the same thing. They claimed that the lights were swaying as they moved up the sky and 2 of them looked like they exploded and there were bright white sparks when this happened. The rest of the lights then slowly faded out.
There were 6 witnesses in all, me, my girlfriend, her sister, and three neighbors. There did also seem to be a large number of aircraft in the sky that night and I couldnt tell but some of them may had been heading towards the lights.

Huge hovering craft with large spot light beams.s. Spotted odd lights approaching from the East going west.
Pulled off the road and shut off truck to observe! A huge craft probably 4 or 500 feet wide hovered silently at aprox. 100 feet over the highway. Initially emitted 3 lights, then 4, then 5.
Very bright. At this point I started to get concerned about my wife and I and our safety. It then took off west in a flash it was out of sight! Unbelieveable size and speed? No flashing lights? Several people reported seeing it in northern part of Fulton County.
I was not our aircraft I am sure of that!.

During a severe thunderstorm a single light appeared moving unevenly (up and down) from east to west. The light appeared during a severe lightening storm and moved in a horizontal path across the horizon but was moving up and down in an erratic fashion. It was obviously a mile or more away from us to the north.
No sound, no flashing lights. It disappeared into the west after about a minutes time. About fifteen minutes later a sationary white light appeared, slightly farther away but in the same initial vicinity of the first.
The second light remained stationary, but disappeared after a few moments.

Saw far away in the sky. Looked like a star but there were no other stars in the sky. I saw this object in the sky while (it was to the west) driving home from dinner at a fastfood restraunt.
It was on a back road of a residenntial area. The object was very far away. First, I thought it was a star.
Then, I looked for other stars in the sky. There were none. I kept watching for 3-5 minutes and wondered what it was and then I drove by some trees and lost it.

Silver Cigar-Shaped Object, Elkhart, IN, This craft(?) was viewed from an Amtrak train headed West to Chicago. It was in a nearly cloudless sky gliding over a group of trees in the distance. At first, I mistook it for a passenger jet, ready to crash.
It had no rudder and was moving far too slowly for a conventional plane. As soon as I saw it had no markings or features, the front end lifted to a 45-degree angle. It then turned slowly away and faced away from me.
While it made this maneuver, the sun shone brilliantly from its polished-chrome(?) surface. No wings or engines were visible and no sound could be heard above the train's noise. It then shot out of sight faster than anything I'd ever seen.
This info appears online for the first time.
