Connecticut UFO Sightings in 1998

A large triangular object hovered 30 mins, then accelerated and disappeared over the horizon. After eating dinner at my inlaws, I went outside to have a smoke. Looking across the street I noticed what appeared to be a very low and slow flying 747.

Although I could not make out the body, what I could see were 3 bright red lights. I assumed one on each wing tip, one at the center where the leading edge of the wings would intersect (if they did),and a golden yellow light on the nose. The speed seemed so slow that I wondered how it could remain aloft.

The object traveled left to right (south to north). As it came directly in front of me, it seemed to make a 90 degree bank and stop. I could only see what would be the center light and one wing tip light(now vertical).

The lights also changed color from red to golden yellow. The vertical wing tip light was now strobing. It remained stationary and very stable.

I could only guess as to the distance, possibly 100-150 yards. I watched the lights for roughly 30 minutes, then the objected rolled back 90 degrees to a straight and level orientation. The lights changed back to red.

The object then accelerated, banked left and diappeared over the western horizon. At this point I was certian of what I saw.

Three circular objects in the sky floated at a high altitude , seemed like spotlights but there no obvious source for spotlights, were in triangular formation, converged into one object then split apart into a triangle again. Lights that seemed to almost dance looked like very large spot lights , first seen in a triangular formation then converged into one object then split into three again and did this a couple times before totally disapearing with no sound The objects were of white opaque color. We were at a cemetary at a little bit after 8:00.

I am a Unix Network Admin and Computer Technician also currently involved in college my female friend is also a student.

Greenish Blue Shooting star seen in Connecticut. I was driving south on 395 and I saw a greenish blue light that looked like a shooting star to me at the time. I was really bright and it was shooting in a downward motion very fast.

It looked to close that I was looking to see a crash into the mountains, but the light faded before it got to that point. I never saw a shooting star like that and never thought of it anything more then that. I'm am writing to you because I heard on the Art Bell show of people seeing a similar thing in different parts of the country.

And it was being decribed as a UFO siting. I'm not big on the UFO stuff, but I am interested in further information about this thing that I saw.

The object was traveling at a very high altitude, at first glance I thought it might be a sattelite, but it made a few stops, then a dramatic turn to the east. Visible beyond normal sattelite viewing at sunset, Only explanation I have is the space shuttle, is it up now? Coming from the north I can make out a high traveling object usually there sattelites, But this object quite a few stops on its north to south trail, there was no atmospheric turbulance or cloud coverage, when the object reached just about to the zenith, it made a dramatic turn toward the east, I was able to watch the object travel east, then again turn to the south, the sun was down enough that it should not have been a reflection, regardless I have witnessed many Sattelites, and a few unexplaind ones and this is one of them. the object seemed to twinkle a bluish to orange color.

Standing on my back deck at approximately midnight having a cigarette before going to bed a green sphere appeared at tree top level On the approximate date this object appeared above the driveway next to my home . This object wasn't there moments before. It was at treetop level.

The object glowed with a light green color. It was about 10 foot in diameter and Only 40 feet away, it made almost no sound. a slight humm was all I could hear.

It was extremely stable, not moving or swaying. My first thought was that of shock or amazement. That lasted a few moments, I found it hard to believe what I was seeing.

I wanted to call for my wife or grab a camera while at the same time I thought if I yelled or left it would disappear so I stayed where I was. It was as if we ( if someone or something were in the craft) were watching and observing each other. The craft stayed perfectly still all the time.

Not outside propulsion source was visible, only the slight humming sound. After about 10 or 15 minutes ( I lost track of time) The humm elevated and the craft sped off. It was gone in the blink of an eye with a speed that was indescribable.

With Google earth you can see the back deck if it hasn't been changed and the driveway I'm referencing for proximity. The strange thing is, about two weeks later I had a Stroke. Not a serious stroke.

However one that effected my equilibrium. I, to this day wonder if that may have been a side effect. Until now only Three people have been told of my experience.

I was always reluctant to speak of it because of what I have heard how others were looked at and treated for bringing their experience to light.

In Sept. of 1998 at aprox. 10:00PM my wife, daughter and I came out our front door headed for our automobile to visit my wife's mother in Norwalk Ct.

We could not help noticing a very large egg shaped ring of steady yellow lights at tree top height, that was assending very slowly to the southwest. It continued in a steady course for 2 ot 3 min's, maybe more as we watched. It was absolutly silent.

No sound whatsoever! It continued it's course until it was almost out of seight. Whatever was in the center of the ring could not be seen. We figured it was a lighter then air craft.

but there were no sound of engines. Maybe a ballon.but I don't believe they are allowed to fly at night and the shape was not cosistent with a ballon.

So to this day we don't know what the heck it was. I would like to know if anyone, anywhere has observed anything like this, or if anyone may know what it could have been? My wife, daughter and myself have only a passing interest in UFO's. We neither hunt them or venture an oppinion about ET's.

But after this encounter, we sure would like to know what the heck that thing was. Once you see something it is a huanting experience. I only wish I had a flash camera.

Driving east toward Danbury on I-84, near the Taconic parkway, myself and a passenger noticed a bright "glowing" orange sphere in the eastern sky, we watched this for a moment and noticed that thise sphere was beginning to pulsate.It pulsed inward and outward for a few moments and then splintered into what appeared to be a swarm of white lights that moved eratically. It was like nothing we've ever seen.

the neighborhood lights up brighter than the day time for a split second My observation is unique my brother woke me up after coming home and while laying in bed I looked out the window from the side of the blinds. I observed a white lit object to my 10 o'clock about two blocks vertically and horizonally away and couldn't make out a shape. It stayed in position so I figured a helicopter at first but there was no blinking lights.

I remembered from Unsolved Mysteries someone used thier mind to communicate with an unknown being in the woods so I gave it a try."Hello" with my mind and to my amazement it turned bright purple. I wasn't afraid so next I tried this with my mind "can I go for a ride and check out your home" I received no communication back "please intervene with our government their out of touch and let me be in control or be prime minister between our species" no message received back to me.

" Move side to side" it moved side to side "up and down" it moved up and down " do figure eights" it moved in figure eights at this point I wanted to go outside but was afraid of getting burned. Next, I wanted to see its power so I used my mind to communicate "fly over my house as fast as you can" while thinking of the direction it should take from the back to front of my house. It disappears in front of my eyes and seconds later it goes over my house from my 6 o'clock to 12 o'clock in a split second the neighborhood lights up brighter than day time for that split second while a streched boomerrang shape don't remember if it was still purple, goes towards Hartford from the speed.

It was so close to my roof I heard a whamp sound which was heard after it passed over and felt like the roof was about to be torn off from the house cause of this objects energy. I told myself this was the coolest thing that ever happened to me and laid in bed just thinking about what just happened. Ten minutes later the sun started coming up and went to the porch to have a smoke and my brother ! who seen nothing was there for the past minute.

My friend and I had just got out of my car in my driveway, looked up to the night sky which was the western sky, and saw a small light, like the size of a star moving North West at a slow even pace I then said "What is that!", and my friend said "I don't know", then we said "Maybe a satellite or a balloon", then it quicky picked up speed shot straight up into the sky and disappeared.

small blimpish looking spacecraft that was silverish/metalish in color that wasent moving and disappered once i looked back up at sky I was outside with some friends at around 5:00 at night during the summer. It was a cloudless, blue, sunny, day and while I was walking with my friends I looked up at the sky and I noticed this thing in the sky that kindof looked like a blimp, but was way to high up,(about the same hight as a plane would be) and was completley silverish/metalish, and was also very small and not moving at all, it seemed as if it were suspended in the air. Well I was looking at this and while I was looking a friend asked me if we should go to eat now and i looked down at him and said "yeah" and when I looked back up it was gone and I looked all over the sky for it! Now as I said before it was a cloudless day so if it was a regular plane, blimp, etc I would of been able to see it once I looked back up, and also I took my eyes away from the aircraft for about three seconds to answer my friends question.

We were looking up at the sky when my associate pointed out a dot moving across the sky, when I looked at it more closely it was moving in a wavey fashion so I knew it wasn't a satelite. It then move next to another dot. This dot and one directly below it to the left all move in a perfect circle equally spaced apart.

At that point I freaked and took off. We returned one hour later with two more people and they witnessed one object moving very strangely across the sky. Then this object dissappeared among the stars.

The first description is as accurate as I can write.

Black circular craft give us a glimpse and then dissapears over pine trees. We were on my friends porch when we saw a black circle moveing as fast a commercial jet. it was very high up.

While my friend ran in the house to get his camera i followed it as it passed over a row of tall pine trees. When i got around the trees, the craft was gone. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.

A hazy object hidden in clouds just all of a sudden dissapeared. It happened when there was still snow on the ground. It happened above the state prison in Danbury, Ct.

I was driving by the prison with my family and I was sitting in the back seat when i looked out the window and saw about 3 or 4 disk shaped clouds. They looked weird so I stared at them. About 5 seconds later, one of the "Clouds" dissapeared.

It was gone. There was no trace of where it went. The other clouds stayed there.

Just then I told my parents what I saw and they laughed and said I was crazy. I called my mom later that night and she believed me because she also had an encounter. That is all there is.

These "things" in the sky sparkled like diamonds strung together, moving almost in unison. They crossed the Merritt Parkway off in the distance, in front of me (traveling North). Needless to say, I missed exit #37! These "items" looked like loosely strung together crystals or diamonds.

I doubt they could have been larger than say 8-10 feet in diameter, certainly far larger than any birds, and they sparkled and glissened in the sky at dusk. It startled me and I wondered if anyone else driving on the Merritt at that time saw it. I was travelling North and these things must have been at some point beyond exit 38, so they weren't overhead.

I have not heard any mention of this event on local television. Nothing. There had to have been at least 50 of these things, and possibly a lot more.

like crystals travelling in the sky. ((ADDENDUM FROM WITNESS)) Hi, I just submitted the report on the "string of diamonds" in the sky. I want to mention that these things were travelling west to east in the sky, directly over and across the Merritt Parkway.

They were moving at a medium/moderate rate of speed, very consistent and not quickly or sporadically, as in a "shower" formation. ((END ADDENDUM)).

While taking an evening walk i saw what i thought was a shooting star. It stopped in the sky and just hovered there. It was cylander shaped with lights all around.

Then i noticed 4 others. These were just moving very slowly. I was wondering if there were any other reports.

Black Cylinder/tube shaped ufo pivots in night sky with red/green blinking lights. I was 4 or 5 (Dec or Jan 1998) when I was awoken by something that caused me to look out my window and notice a black cylinder/tube shaped ufo slowly pivoting in the sky. There was a red light on one end and a green light on the other.

There might have been some port holes on its sides but Im not sure. I just remember the way it moved which was what made me think it was a ufo. It moved in sort of a pivot motion and was not very fast at all… After a while I got bored of watching it and went back to bed so I can't be sure where it went or how it disappeared.
