Silent, very slow moving, pulsing red lights under perimeter, passed directly overhead, making 90 degree change of direction, S to W. I was returning home from me job, across the main road (Post Road), on the 5mph entrance road to the Lansdowne Condos, when I noticed out the windshield, that a craft was passing very slowly above me. I immediately stopped, to just observe it.

I could hear nothing. I rolled my window down, and still heard nothing. It was a crystal clear night, so it was extremely difficult to guess at it's physical size.

There were trees lining both sides of the road ahead of me, that I estimate were about 40 feet tall. The roadway was about 30 feet wide. From my vantage point, if the craft was just clearing the trees, I would estimate that it was at least 50-60 feet in diameter.

But, since the evergreen trees were not illuminated by the pulsing red lights on the underside perimeter of the craft, and there were no street lights illuminating the underside of the craft, I could not clearly determine it's elevation. It may have been several hundred feet above me, in which case, from my vantage point, it would have had to have been as wide, or wider than a football field. If it was at the lower elevation, it seemed to just hover over the same road that I was traveling, and seemed to have changed direction, to the right, above the T in the road, exactly where I made the same turn.

I quickly drove to that corner and turned, and the craft was no longer in sight.

Summary: Young couple witness large glowing craft streak across the night sky, as if it were "exiting" the Earth. Craft was followed by a trail of pearlescent light, objected started in NE hor.streaked to about 1/2 way across hor.

Then apparently flew straight out of the earth! Without a trace. It took a total of three quick "oh my gods!" and it was over. Definitely not a comet! On October 15, 1995, my boyfriend and myself were on our way to meet some of our friends.

It was roughly around 10:00-10:15p.m. We realized that we were a bit early to meet them, so we decided to just drive around for a while.

The radio in the car was on, but very quietly. We drove around for about 10 minutes, or so, and then decided to start heading to meet our friends. We were traveling north on Senexet Road in Woodstock, CT.

I was the passenger, my boyfriend was the driver. My eyes were suddenly drawn to a small glowing light, seemingly the size of a street lamp, but much brighter. Almost as quickly as I noticed it, it started heading in a southern direction (towards us).

Its speed was phenomenal, never in all my years (26 to be exact) have I ever seen anything in the sky (day or night) travel at such an incredible speed. The closest that this ball of light came to our location was within about 1/2 mile. Upon reaching that point the object appeared much larger than I had originally thought, it was then that I realized that this was not a plane, helicopter, meteor or comet.

All of which I have witnessed before in the night sky. If one were to get close enough to be able to measure the size of the object my guess would be that they find it to be probably close to a 1/4 of a mile long and about half as wide. Once it reached the closest point that it had come to us, it came to an abrupt stop.

Then, in less than a second, it turned, as if effortlessly, 90 degrees toward the west and continued at the previous rate of speed until about half way across the horizon. It then again stopped abruptly and turned another 90 degrees, this time to the north and as quiclky as if it had never stopped it took off, again this time it appeared as if it left the earth completely! Once the object made its first turn towards the west we noticed that it had an incredibly long, pearlescent colored trail of light traveling behind it. This was perhaps the most striking thing that I remember about the object.

It was the most beautiful yet strangest light we have ever witnessed. The trail of light, judging by the distance and size from our location appeared to be atleast 15 to 20 miles long! And as bright as the daylight! We didn't tell that many people what we had seen, for obvious reasons. When I finally contacted a U.

F.O. investigative firm, they said there was a bright meteor in that area around that time of the month.

I told the guy he was nuts, that I know a meteor when I see one. I said to him,"besides, meteors fall down, not up! And they don't travel at speed in excess of thousands of miles per hour!" He asked how I knew how fast it was going? I told him that in order for that object to travel from one end of the horizon to the middle of the horizon and then out of the atmosphere in less than 3 "oh, my gods!" it had to be traveling faster than anything humans have thus far invented. For a plane to travel the distance that this object traveled in less than 5 seconds, it would take about 20 to 25 minutes! When the object made its first turn and we saw the trail of light for the first time, I had the most incredible tingling sensation come over my body and my eyes started to water and my muscles all felt tense, my boyfriend experienced similar sensations.

We are both in our mid-twenties have two children, good jobs and absolutely no reason to make anything like this up. Feel free to post this event, I am no longer worried that people will think I'm crazy. After all, maybe I am crazy, but I'm definitely not STUPID! I know what I saw was without a doubt a U.

Staples Avon, CT UFO ID Software DooM Engine Open Source When I was younger working at Hopmeadow Mall in Simsbury CT, I heard about a UFO sighting in Staples Avon CT location. This was around 1999 when I heard of it. I believe it occurred years earlier around 1995, though it may have been as early as 1990.

I had a friend who worked at Staples around 1998 who never told me of this event, though this person moved away shortly after working there. This may be of interest – this Staples used to be a popular location to buy computer games, especially the old ID Software Doom engine games. This was before the engine went open source.

I cannot explain this connection and I doubt the person telling the account of this sighting knew this store used to be a popular location to buy ID Software product. I don’t believe they have a large aisle selling games anymore. I believe this Staples used to have a steeple on the roof as well.

Immense triangular craft moving 20mph over Groton, CT, and Montauk, LI, NY, at least 1 mi wide. I was participating on a research project for the U.S.

Coast Guard Research & Development Center. They were testing various types of IR and LASER detection systems for nighttime use, which comprised large professional tripod-mounted cameras and long tele lenses. The equipment was located in a shelter built on top of the tallest building on the university campus, a 4-story brick building.

My role was to act as target. I was in a 25-ft fiberglass sloop with outboard engine. I was given a series of waypoints which I spent approx 10-15 min at each point, long enough for changes in engine heat signatures to be observed.

There were about 10 waypoints located 1 mi apart beginning about 2 miles from shore, going directly south across Long Island Sound toward Montauk. At 10 miles I was located approx halfway between Montauk and Groton/New London. It was after midnight, possibly 2AM.

It was warm (about 70 deg), and a cloudless starry night. Only the tallest! brightest lights from Groton could be seen, no lights were visible from Long Island. I observed a distinct 'lack of stars' overhead.

I then noticed several lights along the edges of what appeared as a huge triangle. The lights were red, green and blue but did not conform to typical navigation lights of aircraft. I have extensive military and aviation experience, this was not an aircraft.

It moved directly overhead from on shore at approx 20 miles per hour. As it's approx 20 miles between Groton and L.I.

, I observed the craft for nearly 1 hr, before losing it over the horizon. It was totally silent. It blocked out about 1/3rd of the sky.

If my estimate of its height was wrong and it was higher in altitude, then it would be even larger. I could not make out any details of its design or construction, other than its shape. This may conform to an FAA reported radar target observed over Groton on 9/11.

Unfortunately although there is a regional airport at Groton, with approach radar, their tower is not manned after 9pm. This craft may have been only 2 miles from the airport at closest approach. I am attempting to coordinate this sighting with radar data from Providence, RI, and Bradbury, CT, as well as USCG records from the RD&C during the imaging test.

West Simsbury Late 1995 Nightmare Imp Woods Alien Misinterpreted Estimated Timeline September 03 1995? West Simsbury, CT Masters School - Mountain Pass Located near Saddle Ridge. Observing waterfall at end of street in woods, acquaintance rushes towards my location saying that "someone" is coming after us and we need to leave at once. I look up mountain ledge and see as well a "person" so blacked out that you can not even tell who or what they are - this beings features are so blurred you can't take any descriptive readings.

Chased about half way out of woods by this "person", entity has not been seen since this occurrence by myself. Shortly after, the entire area would flood with overflow from an old storm. I believe at the time we were in 7th grade and enjoyed playing near the forest.

Have heard from others strange things have happened in these exact same woods and sometimes you need to steer clear of these places to be safe. Perhaps someone else has had a similar experience. I would not say it is demonic in nature, perhaps closer to alien like activity which is why I believe it may be of interest here.

Supernatural in the same sense, we can push aside such folklore and myths of the past to suggest it may have been some type of extraterrestrial, not the traditional cliche grey though something much more fearful scary and sinister, a reason to look your doors and windows at night. It may be taken as demonic by some except that would be not be the full understanding of such a being and how it would see us. I am not sure if it "radiated" we ran so fast away from this being of great dark power.

The closest approximation of it's appearance would be a nightmare imp from Doom. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=90383333 I doubt this artist's vision can give it justice though.

I advocate for others to share if they have run into this same situation, whether it was a hallucination, dream, or something else. Perhaps it could be something far worse. None the less people need to keep their eyes and ears open for such a "person" as it is worthy of study.

This has been discussed on the web and no one has really offered a rational explanation beyond the obvious; it was a hallucination, or even a imaginative reaction to the shadow people folklore, perhaps a hysterical occurrence of normal origin mistaken. My own opinion on this matter is if you encounter this being you could stay to see exactly what this person is and what they are doing, though it may be wiser to turn a blind eye and run very fast never looking back. You would be better off protecting yourself than learning what this exactly is and leaving it alone at just that.

Large, triangle, black, 10 lights, slow moving, no noise, cant remeber much but would like to know what i saw It was evening time me and my twin sister were walking home from a corner store. I do remember walking past a lighted t cross section. It was a wooded area single lane road.

It was getting past dusk. A large triangle with soft yellow lights underneath it. I think about 10 lights or there about.

Lined up in a bowling pin formation. Flying slow from one side of the street to the other maybe 5-10 mile an hour. black in color no noise.

Mother lived in Connecticut I lived in Mass with my father. Never really thought about it or thought to ask my sister about it. But its always been on my mind and I would like to know what I saw.

Two red lights in formation buzz across tree tops then shoot straight up into the sky - It was increadible! I was walking outside from my sisters garage late dusk (getting dark) when I seen two (2) red lights to my left in formation, one in front of the other heading north accross the tree tops in a heavely wooded area which was only about 1 mile from where I was standing. I first thought it was a military aircraft but knew it couldn't because I was in the USAF and seen them all!!! I noticed there was no sound at all and realized something was strange - I felt paralyzed! As both light's raced across the tree tops at about 200 mph, my sister asked "what are you looking at" then a second later, the red light in front shot straight up into the sky while the second light followed - A manuver I'll never forget. It was incredible!.

How could noone else have saw this. It was bigger than the moon. It was Orangey yellow.

Maybee cause it was 2am. I can't beleive that no one else saw what I saw on this night. It was about two in the morning.

I am not sure of the exact year or date of this event. I just know that it was late summer and the year was either 1995 or 1996. I was looking for a place to kick it with this girl I was seeing at the time.

So we pulled up to a poplular spot to hang out on the ocean near captains cove. The moon was about full and there was an object in the sky that was orangey yellow. It was on the other side of the sky.

It was a perfect circle. Larger than the moon. We watched it for about a half hour.

Every minute it would get smaller and smaller. It maintained a perfect cirlce shape. And finally it got to the size of a star and then dissapeared.

This object didn't move. It just simpley shrunk into nothing. It was so big that I cannot believe that anyone did not see it.

Strange Hovering Light - Noticed and Approached Us This is a while back but I remember it quite well. Back in 2005 my sister was driving home from some late night dinner with my mother and as we drove down our street I saw a light at the end of the street over a house just above the trees about two feet above. I automatically assumed that it was a airplane flying low at night and the perspective was throwing off the actual height.

So my sister stopped to get the mail at the bottom of our 150 ft driveway. I stared and then noticed the light was not moving. Just as a mentioned this to my mother and sister the light began to zip smoothly towards us.

My sister did not pull up the driveway, but my mother began to panic and said to get up the driveway. My heart began to race since this light as now apparently only 2 feet above the treeline! As we pulled in the garage I looked overhead and saw the light skirt over the tops of the trees and then we were in the garage. As I ran inside to look out the windows, the object had left and that was the end of the excitement.

Boomerang shaped object approached our aircraft, reamained stationary overhead, and quickly dissapeared in vertical climb until no longer visible Night sightseeing flight over statue of liberty which departed Waterbury/Oxford airport in Oxford CT. Westbound towards New York class B airspace Hudson River VFR corridor, ident signal from Carmel VOR which was being used for navigation, became very unreadable due to static. I was within Danbury Airport class D airspace, and in contact with their control tower.

Directly at twelve O'clock a large boomerang shaped object leaving a trail of what seemed vapor or fog, and a light glow around it approached our aircraft. We were flying a V35 Bonanza, altitude 3000MSL 2400AGL Groundspeed 130knots. No wake turbulence was experienced.

Object flying at very slow speed. No navigation/position/anti collision lights. No traffic advisories from air traffic control.

As the object positioned itself overhead, some type of observation ports or windows were noticed under the apex or tip of the boomerang. At this point the object made an incredible(as if the whole thing was not incredible enough up to this moment) high rate of speed climb until the object was no longer visible. Name is being withheld for the same reason I did not contact Danbury tower or New York approach to verify if they had seen what I just had.

Did not report an incident report for a near miss. My wife who was always skeptical of these things, is now a changed person, and so am I.
