two bluish white orbs one bigger then other then at end did a u turn into space almost like something in a movie with no noise Went outside on back porch to see what everyone was seeing, and there were two bluish white orbs/spheres, one slightly bigger then the other and no noise kinda going across the sky with the little one following then stopping every once in awhile then the end the big orb did a u turn maneuver into space almost like something in a movie then about ten to thirty seconds later the little one did the same. I saw a four foot wide, moving, circular patch of road which was devoid of rain in a driving storm. I'm a college English Instructor now. At the time of this incident, I was working as a receptionist for a law firm, and I was thirty years old.

I grew up in North Carolina, and I am very familiar with our weather and our roads. I've always considered myself to be open-minded, but at the time that this occured, I was very skeptical of ufo sightings. It was about 8:30 p.

m. on a Sunday. My former wife and I were leaving town after visiting my grandparents.

It was raining especially hard as we reached the stop sign where we would turn onto highway #1, so I was watching the road intently (I was driving) while my wife was looking at me and telling me some family business. There was "nothing coming" so I turned left onto the highway, into the closer, left lane, and began to accelerate. I was responding to my wife's comments when I noticed what looked like something dark moving at the edge of the right lane about a hundred feet ahead.

I thought it might be a dog, so I took my foot off the accelerator (we had only gotten up to about thirty miles per hour, and we immediately lost a good deal of that). When the dark spot moved into the middle of the road and was thoroughly illuminated, I was shocked to see that it was not a thing but the absence of something. Moving into my lane, was a circle about four feet wide of dark pavement, upon which the rain was not falling.

I imagined an updraft or other weather anomaly was responsible, but a gust of wind rocked the car, and at the same time, the circle went slightly oval in shape--then back to circular as the wind eased off. I thought it would fall apart at any second, but it didn't, and as it grew closer, I leaned forward and peered at the edges of the circle. They were perfectly defined by the rain pummeling itself into mist outside the circle, giving the rest of the road a gray/white look.

There appeared to be no transitional area-- absolutely no water was entering the circle. I remember my mouth falling open in shock as I saw this (about fifteen feet away). Before I could react, our paths were intersecting.

I experienced time dilation at that point--the normal kind, caused by adrenalin, which seems to make every- thing go in slow motion. I watched the rain stop pounding on the hood, saw the circular edge move onto the windshield, and then heard the gap in the sound of rain hitting the roof--it was if we had gone under a bridge. Instinctively, I hit the brakes and stared into the rearview mirror.

I saw only the area of road behind us lit up in the red glow of the tailights and that another car was cresting a hill about a mile back. Just as instinctively, when I saw the area lit up with my brakes, I took my foot off the brake pedal out of fear of alerting IT, and sped very quickly away from there. As I did this, I turned to my confused wife, and in a shaky, excited voice, said, "Did you SEE that?" And she responded, "See what?" I tried to convince myself it was some sort of weather anomaly and made a mental note to check into it.

About a year later, I read some ufo literature and was shocked to find out how often craft of four feet or under are reported--up until that time, my chief point of scepticism was the small size of the unseen object. (i.e.

Who would come across interstellar space in such a tiny craft?) This could have occured in October or November--I'm just not certain, but I could probably pin it down if I compared my calendar from that year with meteorological data for the area. Three notes: The area the circle seemed to be coming from is a kudzu- covered swampy forest. There is a pond nearby and a line of high voltage towers.

If the circle was caused by an object overhead, it appeared that this object was moving under its own power when I first saw it, but after entering the illuminated area, it appeared to be at the mercy of the wind. I think this shows intent--I think we surprised it, and it cut out power movement until we had passed under.

MY LIFE IS CHANGED BECAUSE OF THIS!! The mother of my child and I were smoking outside my grandpa's house near the street that's when we heard a weird noise unlike which we never heard but we just thought nothing of it until a few minutes later it happened again and It sounded like it was near one of the local high school campuses so after a couple more minutes it happens again (5 times total). I tell her it's getting late you should get going home. I posted a status on Facebook saying something weird is going on in the sky.

No later than 5 minutes one of my friends from high school comments on the status and says he seen lights floating through the sky when he was walking home!!! The crazy part is his house is in the exact direction one of the noises was coming from. AND A COUPLE MINUTES BEFORE IT HAPPENED IT GOT EXTREMELY FOGGY!!! I KNOW IT WAS A ENGINE I KNOW IT WASN'T HUMAN. I have never went out of my way to report anything but this is really CRAZY!! Oval, silent, UFO, with very bright red,green, & amber lights, football field size, 100 ft. up, ,7/16/95, Boone. I,a retired state health employee, and a friend, observed a UFO (oval, with red, green, and amber lights, flashing alternately, neon bright, football field size) about 100 feet above our car, while driving on 105S, from Boone toward Banner Elk, NC.

It was silent. We observed it coming toward us, following the road, until it was directly over our head. My friend was driving.

I looked straight up at this huge craft and could see very clearly that it was not a plane or helicopter. We stopped, but it had vanished. The date was 7/16/95 @ 9:30 PM at 1785 Hwy 105 S, Boone,NC.

We called the Police and the News Reporter in Boone the following day to report this sighting, but never reported it to NUFORC until now. There were many sightings reported by MUFON in the western North Carolina area Oct. 1996 to May, 1997, reported in the "High Point Enterprise", dated May 16,1997.

I was inside my home recovering from surgery. My wife was at home with me. At app.

11:30pm my daughter returned from amovie with 2 friends and thier mother. They called my wife outside extremely excited. When my wife went out the group was pointing up to an extremely large triangukar vehicle hovering only makin a humming sound.

it had lights of different colors. There were app two more of these vehicles higher in the sky. On returning from the movies ,my daughter and freinds saw beams of light coming from the vehicle to the ground.

This was over her school near our house. My daughter said it was like the vehicle(which was moving slowly) was following them since they passed near the object and them the object made a right turn and come over our house AT TREE TOP LEVEL, MAKING THE TREES SWAY. There was no noise but a low humming.

At that point the ojects disappeared. I tried to report this to local sheriff and CAP but was not taken seriuosly. My family has been very much affected by this sighting.

We spotted a craft moving VERY slowly and in complete silence approximately 200ft above us shining lights all about as if searching. My friend and I were removing deer from my fathers farm that were destroying crops on that summer night. The area is very rural all of the surrounding land was owned by International paper company (logging).

We spotted the craft above us as we slowly drove down the road with our lights off it was moving on a flight path that followed the road it seemed. It was approximately 200 feet off of the ground moving VERY slowly and silently. It had two light beams that were shining in all directions in a sweeping motion.

One light source on each side of the front or cockpit area of the craft. The beams swiveled and moved much like a chameleons eyes do in their sockets. The lights were searching the ground at times and out into the air around the craft at times.

The craft banked very slowly toward the north (it was traveling east) tilting at an extreme angle while continuing to search with the lights. It went out of view for a few moments then returned to the same area.On the second period of observation the craft gained altitude steadily then shot off towards the southwest without a sound.

The whole scene lasted around 18 minutes, with a total of 10 minutes of actually observing the craft. Some type of military craft on training from seymour johnson or camp lejune ? Or extra terrestrial ?.

A strange object moving at warp speed in the day What I saw was a circle shaped object off in the distance in the middle of the day. The only thing that caught my eye was a slight glare off of the silver/metal look it had. It then started to move at what seemed to be warp speed, first up then left in what seemed to be in less than a blink of an eye, I lost sight for a second then the glare caught my attention and when I looked at it again it seemed to skip across the sky to my far right and then it vanished just as fast as it appeared.

What I thought was strange is the movements made were very elusive only up, down, left, and right and even more it never sat still for long almost as if it knew it was being watched. ((NUFORC Note: Source of report indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate. PD)).

A friend and I witnessed white lights the size of stars poking randomly through a cloudy night sky. A friend and I were on a porch at a bar (no I only had a couple of beers). It was a cloudy night as the city lights were reflecting off the clouds/no stars could be seen.

I looked up and noticed white lights (about the size of stars) poking randomly through the clouds. My friend saw them, too. Neither of us could explain this phenomenon as anything but UFOs.

Some years later I saw virtually the same lights on a video broadcast on TV about UFOs. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. PD)).

it hovered above us for a while. we were on hwy.26 getting ready to enter hwy.

40 when the craft was noticed by my son above us and to the right (the passenger side of the car) i looked and saw it as well. it was black with several lights and was hovering above us. it seemed as if we were stopped but i know we did not stop.

my husband was driving and he leaned over to see it through my window. it just kept right over us shining a bright light like it was daylight. to this day my son and i remember it well.

my husband has only slight memory of it. he says it brothers him to talk about it. it also makes my son and i feel uncomfortable.

even as i write this i feel like i am doing something wrong. does that make sense to you? its just a weird feeling. when it left, it just flew off and disappeared at a high rate of speed.

Two triangular craft, hovering low I was on my way to work, a little before 10:00 p.m., driving on a residential street in Pinehurst.

I saw two sets of lights in triangular patterns, each set had two red lights and one white light.The lights were steady and very bright, they did not blink or vary in intensity. The lights were hovering, motionless and very low, seemingly less than 50 feet above the treetops.

At first I thought the two sets of lights might have both been connected to the same structure, but I then saw one set slowly drift a few feet , while the other set remained in place. I rolled down my window and slowed down to about 5 miles per hour, trying to hear anything, but there was no sound. My first thought was they may have been helicopters, but I'm sure I would have heard the chopper blades, as low as they were.

In the darkness, I could make out the outlines of dark-colored structures above the lights. I've always wished I would have waited to see what happened next, but not wanting to be late, I drove on. The next morning I thought about calling the local paper or police to see if anyone else had reported seeing this, since it happened in a residential area with houses all around, but was too embarrased.

White, Glowing Cylinder, Maybe affected my mind temporarily Me and my friend were camping in the woods in Gray's Creek off of School RD. at Dr. Virgil's pond.

We were woke up by a bright light, not blinking but all encompasing. There was no sound or vibration, and we were not afraid at all. We did not open our tent and actually see what it was for a minute.

When I opened the tent I saw a massive cylindrical object floating in the air over the pond. I zipped the tent and my friend and I fell back asleep. This thing had to have had some kind of psycotic (sic) powers or something, because I thought about it the next day and my friend and I agreed that we should have ran but we both fealt a surreal comfort during the sighting.

I have always pushed this memory away, but I am more and more intrigued and everyday I catch myself staring at the sky. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. PD)).

Reflective solid object hung motionless in the sky before shooting off at an extremely high rate of speed. Around 12:30 in the afternoon, I and one other person noticed a round metallic object hovering in the sky. I'm making an educated guess based on the cirrus clouds in the sky with the object, that it was around 17000 feet in the air.

Although it was so high it was very easy to notice because it had a very shiny, metallic surface (like tin foil or stainless steel) and reflected the sunlight. It appeared to be a single, solid object. I am unable to to determine how large it was, only that it was very easy to see, as the sky was almost totally clear.

The object made no sound as it hung there motionless for about 1 minute. I had enough time to point the object out to my friend and give him at least 20 uninterrupted seconds to observe it too. The object then took off so fast that it almost seemed to have disappeared.

It left so quickly that I would have missed it had been blinking. At that point I realized what we saw wasn't an aircraft.
