Very large ball of light. Looked to me as if the sun were moving through town. I was a security supervisor at a large convention center hotel, while sitting a my patrole van, at approximately 0300 hours I observed a very large, silent ball of light that flew over a large department store and illuminated the whole store and parking lot.

The object was flying in a east to west direction towards Piedmont Triad International Airport, and never made a sound. The only thing I can compare it too, is the sun. the object was soo large and bright it looked as though the sun was flying through the sky.

The object appeared to fly slowly, although it did not hover. I observed this object for approximately one minute before it blinked out, as if someone cut off a light switch. I am estimating the time of night, and exact date of this incident.

The sighting itself is very vivid, however events surrounding it such as time of date, etc are unclear. I have never told this story to anyone beside my wife, who thought I was seeing things, therefore I never bothered to remeber or document important dates and times regarding this incident. He had just come on duty, and noticed that their offices had taken several calls from Graham County, NC, from several people who thought they were looking at a UFO. He said he would call the Graham County Emergency Office. (A gentleman called from Graham Co.

COMING HOME ONE NITE WE SAW A DIAMOND SHAPE OBJECT APPEAR FROM NOWHERE AND IT HOVERED FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN DISAPPEARED. A FRIEND AND MYSELF WERE DRIVING HOME ON HWY.132 GETTING READY TO HIT I-40.

THERE WAS A TRIANGULAR SHAPE THAT APPEARED FROM NOWHERE IN FRONT OF US IN THE SKY.IT HAD BRIGHT ORANGE LIGHTS THAT WERE IN A TRIANGULAR SHAPE. THERE WAS NO NOISE AND IT STAYED THERE FOR ABOUT 3-4 MINUTES.

I THOUGHT WE WERE CRAZY BUT THERE WAS A TRUCK NEXT TO US THAT HIT HIS BRAKES BECAUSE HE SAW IT TOO. AFTER THE LIGHTS HOVERED A FEW MINUTES THEY JUST SHOT STAIGHT DOWN. I EXPECTED TO SEE FLAMES BECAUSE I FIGUERED IT MAY HAVE BEEN A PLANE CRASHING OR SOMETHING BUT NOTHING HAPPENED.

WE GOT HOME AND CALLED THE HIGHWAY PATROL AND TOLD THEM WHAT WE HAD SEEN AND THAT MAYBE THEY NEEDED TO SEE IF SOMETHING HAD WENT DOWN.THEY JUST THOUGHT IT WAS A JOKE. I KNOW WHAT I SAW AND I WAS A BIG SKEPTIC BEFORE THAT.

Large black triangle, lights on the corners. Moving 3 or 4 mph right above the treetops. Faint humming noise.

Not sure of date and time, Happened over 10 years ago. In my friends back yard. Heard a faint humming noise.

Stars and moon got blacked out. Looked up and saw a large black triangle, lights on the corners. Moving right above the treetops directly over us moving about 3 or 4 mph.

This thing was wider than his house, Im guessing that it was about 150 foot wide. I check the possible UFO abduction box But I dont know. Remember being hazy and tired afterwards.

1 circular object, red, yellow, green, blue lights spinning, smaller version moves out, up accelerates abnormal speed out of site!! I saw a circular object with red, green, yellow, and blue lights, in rectangular shapes going around, sort of like a Ferris Wheel, but extremely larger. Then all at once a smaller version of it moves out, and up to the right of it. So, that blew my thought of carnival ride or Ferris wheel out of the water! I was in the U.

S. Navy, and have seen all kinds of aircraft, this smaller version started accelerating at a speed unlike any other aircraft I have ever seen! It continued moving across the night sky at that extraordinary speed, until it kicked in its full power, and disappeared into the deep, dark, depths of what we know as "Outer Space"! This is the kind of thing that, once you see it, you will never forget it. Thank You, X-U.

This event took place on Wrightsville Beach which is a barrier island near Wilmington, NC. My wife and I were stargazing on a beautiful clear night when we spotted a red triangle flying almost straight above us, running silently and parallel to the shoreline. It was softly and evenly glowing red all over and it was about the shape of a classic paper airplane, longer than it was wide.

It would have been about as long as your pinky nail is wide held at arms length. It might have been at 15 thousand feet above us-only a rough guess and it seemed to be going about 300 miles per hour. We watched it fly smoothly out of sight in maybe 40 seconds.

I was shocked and fascinated to see something so strange but my wife thought it was just some kind of military plane. At that time I believed there could not be such things as ET craft, decided she must be right about it being a plane and mostly forgot about it. I always felt that was quite an under reaction on her part.

Incredibly fast green light traveling North to South, on several occasions I witnessed a bright green light, with a short tail, transit north to south at incredible speed. I witnessed this on two to three different occasions, always the same color, direction and speed. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.

Large disc shaped UFO just over our house, no sound. 3 red lights in a triangle underneath. It was huge.

It was midnight and me and my sis were watching tv. As i got up to get a drink I noticed a light in the sky as i stepped closer to the window i noticed 3 red lights in a triangle and as my eyes ajusted I began to see the outline of the object, a circle. Me and my sis hollered at my brother to come see the UFO.

We opened the sliding glass door to the right to go out to listen. There was no sound. The object was right above our trees in the front yard.

We expect the object was very close to the size of a football field. It slowly moved away revealing it was a disc shaped UFO with a line of lights around the whole ship. I would guess it was moving about 1-5 mph.

Our parents were sleeping at the time by the time we woke them it was so far away it could have been a airplane to them. But for me and my siblings it was the closest encounter we have ever had. I will always look to the sky.

Bright single white light on a summer night sky in eastern N.C. I was at a friends house in the neighborhood I was living in.

There was about five of us in a small children's pool in her backyard. I remember the time of night because at 20:00 my dad would always call us in for dinner, and maybe 30 minutes later would actually come out and get us. We were in the water and I heard my dad call us, but we continued playing anyway.

I got out from under a pan we were playing with when I looked up towards the sky. When I looked up I saw a white light that was moving slowly from the right side of the sky. I continued watching it trying to figure out what it was because it was only one light, which I knew wasn't a plane, and it was also moving faster than a satellite would be plus it was much brighter.

While I was watching this object I noticed that it had stopped moving almost as if it realized I was watching it. While this object was motionless I decided to get one of the others to look at the sky to see if they saw it as well. When I finally got them to look at the sky the object then did a zig-zag pattern kind of in up and outward way like what would happen in a generated image, but as it was doing this pattern it was leaving behind a trail of light behind it.

When the light was completely faded is when my dad showed up. I have only told two other people of this incident, the first being my dad who has since passed, and the other told me to report it to this site even though it had occurred many years ago. Triangle shape silently hovering just over the trees and houses I was driving on Lawyers Road coming from Albemarle Road. It was dusk about 8:45pm and I had my 2 boys with me. The area is well populated with houses with wooded lots.

Right along the road, about 25 feet above the trees, I saw a huge aircraft. I said to my son, "Look, what is that?" The aircraft seemed to be at least as big as half of a football field. I was traveling about 35 mph and was passing this thing.

It made no noise and just was hovering there above the houses. I slowed down to get a better look. It was dark gray.

It was triangular shaped and I could see a white light at the end of the wing on the underside. It was so low and large that I couldn't see the other wing. I remember a red light in the middle of it.

It was so close to me that I could see the square panels and what looked like the rivets that held it together. I drove to the shopping center on the corner of Margarit Wallace Road about 1/4 a mile down the road and pulled in to wait for it to fly over. It never did.

I wanted to drive back but my kids were frightened so I went home. I never called the police or anyone to report it. I didn't think anyone would believe me.

If I were close to a military base I would have thought it was some kind of test plane because it resembled a stealth bomber but Charlotte has none closeby and I don't think Mint Hill is where they would test fly. I watched the news that night and the next morning to see if the sighting would have been on. Nothing.

I was one the way home one night when a round object passed over head it looked like lava and fire around it I am a contractor and a christian in north carolina. I was driving home from a friends house one night in a car with t tops when this round object that looked like a planet went over head.The object looked like it had fire and lava turning in it.

It was just above the trees.The t tops in the car helped me to see the object well.The Object was going so slow It looked like it landed about a quater mile to my right it was the wildest thang i have ever see.

1st night saw rectangle rimmed with lights, gliding, then next night, along same path, saw 4 orbs, rotating, creating geometric shapes. It was 3/96, during the time that Comet Hyakutake was visible, so I was looking up trying to see the comet, from the parking lot of my apt complex. It was around the time of the new moon, so stars were prevalent.

What caught my eye was what looked like stars “moving”. It was in fact, the outline of a large rectangle, moving across the sky. It had lights around the rim, so what I was seeing, was the moving lights against the stars, rimming what looked like a perfect rectangle.

I followed it gliding in a straight line, not sure what direction it was, until trees blocked it, maybe 30 seconds to a minute. It was not very high, in the sky, maybe the height of a 20-story building (I grew up in NYC). The next night, feeling freaked out by what I had seen, I had my roommate come outside with me, to “see the comet”, but I needed to face my fear.

It was about 11pm, about an hour or so later than the sighting of the night before. Along the same stretch of sky, almost the same “path” as the rectangle, we saw 4 orbs, perfectly round, bright lights, descending slowly from pretty high up, maybe 20 to 30 stories up, higher than the rectangle from previous night. As they descended, they were forming geometric shapes & rotating.

They’d form a circle, square & an elliptical, all while rotating slowly. Against logic, I moved under them, watching them form the shapes & rotate. They descended very low, maybe 15 stories, give or take; I grew up in a 17-story building, it looked like they descended lower than the height of the top floor of that building, directly above my head & still rotating & forming shapes.

Directly beneath them, I could see the space between them, they did no! t look attached at all, but definitely more like 4 entirely separate orbs. After, what I’ve since described as their “showboating”, because that’s really what it felt like, making geometric shapes, slowly, in the sky over my head, about 3 or 4 minutes, they started to move, almost exactly along the same path as the rectangle the night before, still forming shapes (mostly squares & circles at this point) & still revolving around eachother, but each together gliding along that same path, until out of site, by the same trees, moving a little slower than the rectangle the night before. They were definitely not as high up as the rectangular object.

But both nights, there was absolutely no sound from either one, complete silence. They were both low enough, that had they been an aircraft of some kind, we should definitely have heard something. At first my roommate corroborated my sighting completely, there were no other witnesses the first night.

However, we were both quite spooked by what we saw & although she described the same thing I saw, for several months, she eventually started to say it “never happened” or that it was “explainable”. She never did give another explanation though, she just didn’t want to talk about it. We haven’t spoken in many years, I don’t know if she’d be willing to talk about it now.

Man walked out onto his front porch at 2305 hours, and saw a very bright light in the sky. With binoculars, it looked as though it had four small lights on one end, and it was giving off sparks on the other. The object stayed in place for 3-5 minutes, at which time it suddenly moved toward the southeast at a constant velocity, disappearing from sight.

TRIANGLE SHAPED SHADOW BLOCKS OUT STARS FIRST OF ALL, THE ONLY PERSON I EVER TOLD OF THIS EVENT WAS MY WIFE. I AM CURRENTLY EMPLOYED AS A ((law enforcement officer)), BUT AT THE TIME I WAS WORKING FOR ((deleted)) YOUTH CAMP. I HAD JUST GRADUATED COLLEGE AND THIS WAS MY FIRST REAL JOB.

I WAS ABOUT TO GET OFF WORK AT APPROXIMATELY 2100 HOURS. IT HAD BEEN COLD AND WINDY ALL DAY, BUT THE SKY WAS CLEAR THAT NIGHT. I WAS WALKING FROM MY WORKSITE TO MY VEHICLE WHEN I FIRST KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG.

THE WIND, WHICH HAD BLOWN ALL DAY SUDDENLY STOPPED. THERE WAS PLENTY OF LIGHT DUE TO THE CLEAR SKY AND THE MOONLIGHT. WHEN THE WIND STOPPED BLOWING, EVERYTHING BECAME QUIET.

EVEN THE USUAL INSECT AND BIRD SOUNDS STOPPED. THEN, I OBSERVED A SHADOW MOVE OVER ME, JUST LIKE WHEN A AIRPLANE FLIES ACROSS THE SUN. I LOOKED UP AND OBSERVED A TRIANGLE SHAPED OBJECT MOVING ACROSS THE SKY ABOVE ME.

THE OBJECT WAS COMPLETELY BLACK, AND BLOCKED OUT THE STARS AND MOON. IT MADE NO SOUND AT ALL. IT SEEMED TO HOVER, THEN MOVE, THEN HOVER, THEN MOVE.

FINALLY, IT TURNED WHILE HOVERING, THEN IT QUIETLY MOVED OUT OF MY FIELD OF VISION. WHEN IT DISAPPEARED, THE WIND STARTED BLOWING AGAIN, AND ALL THE USUAL NOISES OF THE FORREST RETURNED. I WAS UNABLE TO JUDGE ITS SIZE OR ALTITUDE BECAUSE I HAD NO REFERENCE BY WHICH TO JUDGE IT.

HOWEVER, IT WAS LARGE ENOUGH TO BLOCK OUT SEVERAL STARS AT A TIME, AND CAST A SHADOW ON THE GROUND. ALTHOUGH I HAVE WORKED AS A CORRECTIONAL OFFICER, DEPUTY SHERIFF, AND NOW A POLICE OFFICER, I HAVE NEVER BEEN AS AFFRAID AS I WAS THAT NIGHT. WHEN I GOT HOME, MY WIFE NOTICED THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING BOTHERING ME.

I TRIED TO CONVINCE MYSELF THAT I HAD IMMAGINED IT, BUT WHEN I RETURNED TO WORK, OTHER EMPLOYEES INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAD ALSO OBSERVED IT. EMPLOYEES THAT WERE OFF DUTY IN THE ON SITE LIVING QUARTERS REPORTED THAT AT ABOUT THE SAME TIME THE OBJECT WAS SEEN, THE SATALITE TELEVISION LOST ITS SIGNAL FOR APPROXIMATELY 4-5 MINUTES. I TRIED TO PUT THE INCIDENT BEHIND ME, BUT I NEVER FELT COMFORTABLE WORKING IN THE FORREST AGA! IN.

I SO ON RESIGNED MY POSITION FOR PERSONAL REASONS. I WAS ALSO AN AVID HIKER AND CAMPER. I HAVE NOT SPENT A NIGHT IN THE FORREST SINCE.
