North Carolina UFO Sightings in 1989

This metalic disk had blueish plasma lighting coming from all around it We'll this happened in 89 and I never told but only one person until now.Me and a best friend at the time where out cruising the country roads in Va Beach Pugo area heading toward North Carilina border.We crossed over the border and about maybe three miles in we started to notice something very strange out to the right of my car.

It was very dark in that area and no streetlights or a car in sight.The sky was fluffy clouds like and what we notice was this bright blueish,whitish,lightning,flashing coming from one spot in the clouds.As we were still driving down the road the clouds started to open up a bit and we got an amazing look at this increadible disk like object just sitting up there hovering still as can be.

This thing had lighting coming from all around it it reminded of one of those plasma glass things you see that you put your hand on and it does different things but only much much britter than that.I got a exellent long look at this thing.When the thing had lighning coming from it lit up the cloulds all around it and gave a reflection back at this thing thats how I seen it so well.

It was a saucer,disk shape object,metalic looking more like satin stainless steal,it was about I say 60 to 80 feet in diamater,from top to bottom about no more than 7 feet.Also when this was all taken place my car radio had a lot of static the whole time.Anyway I pulled over the roadside to observe this thing and it stayed completly still and also it was absoulutely quit,and also at this time this thing was about maybe 700 to 1000 ft.

I never could tell this story but I fell better now that I shared my experience with the public.

these objects were seen the morning of hurricane hugo they were flying in a formation side by side when i first noticed them i thought maybe they were airplane wingtips but as i got a better look the were separate flying objects with the color of a bright reddish orange glare as if they were fireballs and as i was witnessing this phenomon i know this sounds strange but it was as if they were contacting me telepathically saying .Don't Worry Help is On the Way.what this means i dont know maybe it means help for humanity in the sometime near future oh yah there was also another light that was a bright white light that was behing a cloud or it almost seemed like it was stationary and controlling the movement of the cloud this has to me the weirdest thing ive ever seen ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates a time of "3100 hrs.

3 Silver shiny looking Saucers/U.F.O.

's! The next time I began seeing sightings was on, Oct 18, 1989. Where I lived at the time was quiet dark at night because not many lights were around that area. There was a fair going on at the end of a parking light of a Roses Department Store and Tr-City Mall Forest City, N.

C., about 4-5 miles away. I saw a light sort of circling around in the sky and though it might have been from the fair, so I stood there to see behind my house on Farmside Drive Forest City, N.

C. This object would travel North East to the mall then back South West toward my house in a circling motion. It did this for a good 20-30 minutes.

Then there was another object that begin coming right behind that first one as if was following it. Then after about 10-15 more minutes there was the third that joined in. soon they started getting closer and closer.

At one point, they got close straight up above me, over my house. The objects seemed to be Space crafts/U.F.

O.'s. In the shuffle of watching these objects I sent a family member in the house to get a camera.

When this crafts were above my house I took a snap shot of them as they fled away making my photo sort of blury so I decided to trow it away but, should have kept it. I had frightened them when I took the snap shot and they fled off suddenly leaving a light or smokie trail behind that didn't last but seconds. Triangular UFO with 3 lights on each corner. No Sound. Low Flight Pattern.

It was some time in October of 1989. My mom & I were driving through our neighborhood, off of Hwy 218. As we approached our house we saw 3 distinct lights in the sky in the shape of a triangle.

We pulled up into the driveway and got out and walked back down to the street. We saw the craft moving very slowly from west to east. It was enormous, maybe the size of a football field.

It made no noise and seemed to block out the sky behind it. It floated right above the treetops until it disappeared from our sight behind other houses. WSOCTV news that evening reported that they had received calls of similar UFO sightings.

The newscaster reported this with skepticism and others have responded in the same manner as we’ve recounted this sighting over the years. Near Topsail Beach, 3 silent, star-sized objects each come to a stop, then one at a time, shoot off to disappear seaward About October of 1989, my wife and I were at the beach, I believe Topsail, and it was completely dark. As we gazed at the stars, I saw what looked like a shooting star at first, but then quickly noticed that it did not have a trail, just a star-like object moving from roughly north to south. I told my wife, “Look, a shooting star”.

Almost immediately, I noticed that it was not just one, but 3, in succession. They came to an abrupt stop, all three of them. Then, one at a time, they shot off from a complete standstill; at an unimaginable speed (like in a science fiction movie) until each one disappeared.

They went a direction toward the open sea in a southeasterly direction. I mean, each one took less than a second to just shoot off and disappear, and this was from a complete standstill. To this day, I can clearly see that scene and will never forget, nor be able to explain it.

A VERY LARGE SAUCER SHAPED OBJECT (ABOUT THE SIZE OF TWO FOOTBALL FIELDS) (SILVER IN COLOR) WITH FLASHING COLORED LIGHTS (GREEN, RED & BLUE) FLASHING ONE AT A TIME SIMULTANEOUSLY REVOLVING AROUND THE MIDDLE APPEARED (NORTH) FROM BEHIND SOME TREES IN THE WOODS NEXT TO MY HOUSE - THE OBJECT HOVERED OVER MY NEIGHBORS HOUSE A FEW SECONDS AND THEN AT A VERY HIGH RATE OF SPEED ZIPPED ACROSS THE SKY OUT OF SIGHT (SOUTHWEST DIRECTION TOWARD HICKORY, NC) It was a late fall afternoon and I just walked around the corner of my house when I saw the saucer shaped object fly into the sky from behind some trees next to my house. I just stood there dumbfounded. It hovered over my neigbhors house (which is about 300 yards from my house) and then it just zoomed off in a southwest direction toward Hickory, NC.

When I tell people about it - no one believes me - but I know that I did not imagine it - I know that I saw it. The lights flashed one right after the other - blue, green, red - then the saucer would turn opposite the direction the lights were flashing.

A perfect sphere, almost transparent , very transluscent , soundlessly floating above me I saw and watched an almost transparent perfect sphere floating about 50 /60 feet above me and disappear into the treeline. I estimate the object to be about 18 to 24 inch diameter and moving at a slow walking speed, 2-3 mph It was just a bit higher than the trees. I saw it very clearly and watched it as intensly as one can keeping in mind the fact that I was driving my road home.

My best discription that might create an image is "a glass sphere filled with water slowly floating in the sky". It was like you had to see to look at it, It was almost invisible but caused aberation against the skyscape. It made no noticable sound, left no trail.

I can see it in my minds eye now as if it had just happened, as well as the exact location of the event. I have told a few folks but never offically reported my sighting. ((NUFORC Note: Date of event is approximate.

Large low altitude object seen by many in NC mountains as lights went out. My wife and stepson were driving down the buisy tourist, summer resident filled main street when we noticed a very large object moving slowly over us .it seemed to be rectangular with many lights underneath .

we watched ( hynotized like ) then as it traveled over main street , all of the town's light dimmed then came back up then went out completely.a few days later , while in a store on main street , I noticed an article in an Atlanta newspaper supplement that A ufo was seen by many over n. Georgia ( only a few miles from where we were ).

A sherriff's deputy in Georgia , followed it in his truck , then had to stop and get some locals to quit shooting at it from a bridge.one woman , rinsing her hair under a faucet , said she heard a rumbling over the running water , then ran out to see it as it shook her house… After seeing it , we got into the car and I tried to make my way down main st .my wife and son said it veered and sped away very quickly.

Huge triangle craft hovering silently 40 ft. above highway 19-E. 6 witnesses, craft seemed to be aware of our presence.

Myself and 5 friends were headed home from a regional Fair in Grey TN. The Fair is about an hours drive from my home. It was just before midnight.

The area in which we live is rural, and situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There is a stretch of Highway 19-E between Hampton, TN and the TN-NC state line that winds through an area with very few homes, no homes or businesses at all in some places. The road is a narrow, 2 lane in most places with no street lights.

I was driving, my Aunt was in the passenger seat, and three of my friends were in the back seat, 6 of us total were in the car. The evening had been one of too much cotton candy, corn dogs, and oversized stuffed animals won at overpriced games of "skill"! We were driving along,everyone was laughing and talking at the same time, the radio was playing. Each person, trying to outshout the other.

There was basically no traffic at all on the road as it was getting late, at least for most people in this area. We were only about 7 minutes from my house when we rounded a curve and saw what appeared to be a highly illuminated area in the road ahead, I was the first to notice, and it took a few seconds to put together what was happening. I slowed and realized that the road was illuminated.

from above. I looked up and could not believe my eyes, by this time everyone had fallen silent and I came to a complete stop in the middle of the road. Hovering about 40-50 feet above and in front of us was what I would describe as a "textbook" UFO.

For anyone who has never seen a UFO, it is almost impossible to describe the feelings/emotions that you experience. Your logical mind says impossible, you're dreaming, hallucinating, whatever, but it can't be real, and yet there it is. It's overwhelming.

Above us was a HUGE, black, triangle shaped craft with slightly rounded corners. On each of the three points it had very bright hallogen type lights shining straight down, and the front light seemed to have the ability to aim it's beam somewhat. There may have been a few very small lights of other colors (a couple of my friends said they saw them, I cannot say that I saw anything but the three large white lights).

The craft was hovering, and was completely silent. There was no sign of air displacement or means of flight whatsoever. The craft swayed and bobbed slightly like a mylar balloon in a still quiet room, just very slight movement.

I put the car in park and looked around to see everyone in the car stretching to the nearest window for a view with their mouths hanging open, and a look of astonishment on their faces. What stands out the most in my mind in how utterly silent everything had become. As if by instinct, I turned to open the door to get out and my Aunt grabbed my arm and said "NO SIR.

you're not getting out of this car!! What is that thing? You could get killed!" I told her it was fine, and when everyone saw that I was getting out, they too decided to do the same. Carefully, as if we were sneaking up on something, we opened the doors of the car (all but my Aunt),and we stepped out of the car. There was not a single cloud in the sky, nor any sign of traffic, wind or sound.

it was eerily silent. Time stood still for us at that point. Whether the craft was truly observing us, or if it just appeared to be, we stood there looking up at this thing drifting ever so slowly towards us, looking back, it must have looked like an Old West standoff! Several minutes passed of staring up at the enormous otherworldy machine, and then glancing at each other.

Not a single word was spoken by any of us, except the occasional plea from my Aunt to "get my A-- back in the car and lock the door!" After some time, I suddenly had the thought to reach inside and toot the car horn. The very SECOND I did so.the craft rose straight up about 15-20 ft.

and shot straight back over us and disappeared over the tree tops. We all jumped back in the car and did a sharp U-turn and drove as fast as I could in the direction of the craft. We were able to follow it probably 7 miles or so before it picked up speed and disappeared over the hilltop.

The rest of the drive home was a mix of emotions. from disbelief, to laughter, to "what should we do?.who should we tell?" To this day, none of us can explain what we saw, nor have we ever witnessed anything else that compares.

I have a couple of times since seen things that made me wonder, and mysterious lights that seemed to have abilities beyond human technology, but NOTHING to hold a candle to what happened to us that night. I have always said how glad I am that I was not alone that night. Having 5 other witnesses makes it so much more solid.

I understand the people who disbelieve, or have reservations on this subject. Looking back over what I have written tonight, it sounds so unreal. It WAS unreal, believe me.

There are certainly a lot of hoaxes and misinformation out there, sad to say. I can assure you however, if you ever have an experience like we had that August night, your world will change. If there is one thing that I can say with the deepest, most sincere conviction of my heart.

my friends and I saw something that is not a part of this world and time as we know it. Spacecraft from another planet? Time travelers? Beings from another dimension? I wouldn't even begin to speculate, but let me assure you of this one thing, without ANY reservations or hesitation, WE ARE NOT ALONE AND ARE BEING VISITED AROUND THIS PLANET EVERY DAY. That, my friend, is an absolute certainty.

Low flying, lights, shooting lights. Walking along the road at the beach with a friend. Saw a cluster of white lights in a patter (not sure how to describe it), it was VERY wide and very low, almost made a humming noise as it went along at a VERY slow speed, maybe 2 MPH.

It was travelling south along the beach road. Ont he ocean side of the craft, a light swung out as if on an arm of some sort, the light then accellerated away in an easterly direction at a speed I canno describe. It was a blur it went so fast.

The craft continued in a southerly direction for several minutes, the object then returned with the same alarming speed, "docked" and folded back into the craft. We could only see lights, nothing else, pitch black, no moon or anything else. I have no memory of what happened next, I woke up the next morning in my bed, my friend was in his bed as well.

We never talked about it again.

Large Silver Levitating Ball Object Flew roughly west to east at unknown elevation. At first it floated then it accelerated at an unbelievable rate. It passed Mach but made no boom?! Flew off level into the distance in a few moments.

Very real observation under perfectly clear atmospheric conditions by a future mechanical engineer.

Triangle three white lights one red in the middle moving slowly. I saw three white lights with one red in the center back in 1989 in walnut cove. It was moving about ten mph and was about 20ft wide x 20ft tall.

It crossed HWY 311 and hovered over Ingles grocery store. I turned into Ingles where at that time was a caution light and stopped. I got out of the car to see if it was a helicopter because it moved really slow.

No other traffic around in this small town. My wife at the time and oldest child which is 24 now was in the car. The sky was black that night no stars or moon to be seen.

My wife yelled for me to get in the car so i did. There was no sound so I cranked my car and turned on my headlights and the UFO took off north down the railroad tree line behind Ingles. I raced across the parking lot ( this was around 1 am after my wife had gotten off work).

I crossed the tracks and looked down the track where it went and all I saw was the tops of the trees moving back and forth where it went so fast across them. Two other people I knew at the time saw the same thing that night near Hanging Rock State Park on Moore Springs Rd. It went over their car down the road in front of them then turned sharp and went up over the mountain.

I never told many people about this because most think you are crazy without proof but my proof is all in the minds of those who also saw this when I did. I am one that believes in UFO's and know we cant be alone in this universe. Ever since I saw this I’ve kept a camera with me but I’ve never seen anything since.

I did however see what was shown on TV in 2006 about the UFO sighting in Belgium 1990. They saw and photographed the same thing I saw. I believe it so much I had it tattooed on my arm (the lights in an alien head).
