Triangular object flying west I know it was in November of 1989, around 8:00 pm. I’m not sure of the exact date, but do know it would have been a Monday or Tuesday. I was driving west on Taft Street when I noticed a lot of people in the local Wal-Mart parking lot (132 west Taft St.

) looking up and pointing toward the sky. I looked up and say a Dark triangular object hovering in the sky. It had 3 red lights on the tips.

The lights were not flashing. After watching it for a moment a strange haze (bluish gray) emitted from what I assume to be the back of the object (facing the East side). The object then began moving west at a decent rate of speed.

Then It emitted a bright reddish orange light and started moving incredibly fast (seemed to be moving higher too) Then 2 or 3 helicopters flew over the area, then 4 or 5 jets flew past the helicopters chasing the object. I lost sight of the object, then the jets, and finally the helicopters were no longer in site. A local radio station was broadcasting information for a brief while about the object, then no more mention of it.

The next day there was no information in the paper or on the local news about it. The radio station denied any broadcasting info about any flying objects the previous night. I know what I say, and I know that I’m not the only one who saw this object, but I have never found any more documentation on it.

huge, orange, floating sphere, no noise, no movement In November of 1989, in rural Oklahoma outside of Hugo, my husband and I spotted a giant orange orb which seemingly floated in the sky. We watched the still floating object speculating that it might be a weather balloon. However, the size and the stillness of the object lead us to believe it was not a weather balloon.

The object remained in the sky and did not move for over 45 minutes. It was unaffected by the breeze in the air. It filled a good part of the western sky and did not make any noise.

We joked about being abducted and went into the house to put our children to bed. The object was still in the sky when we went in. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate.

Stillwater, OK

Full Report Text:

Rectangle Shaped Object observed hovering over plowed field SE of Stillwater Oklahoma While driving South on Perkins road, just to the south of Stillwater Creek, I saw a set of landing lights just above the tree line, about 2 miles to the South East. This was strange because there is elevated ground in that direction that would make a small plane flight way too low and hazardous. I proceeded to turn east on 32nd street to head to my house, which would bring me just to the South of the area I had spotted the object.

It was about ¼ of a mile East of Perkins road, and just about 50 yards North of East 32nd street. My view of the object (landing lights) had been obscured by a hill and the tree line as I drove the mile to my exit from the first sighting. The object did not move at all while I observed it.

My assumption at this point was it would be a helicopter hovering over the field for some reason. Once I turned onto East 32nd, I could see that the object was again in view, and hovering about 75 feet off the ground, further above the tree line than I had first imagined. It did not take me long to get to a clearing in two tree lines, in which a wheat field was present.

Now I was able to see that about a dozen “landing lights” were spaced almost evenly apart, giving the object a distinct rectangular/box shape. Having been into aviation I thought a helicopter that size and shape could only be something like a CH-53 Sea Stallion, but there are no Marine or Naval Air assets anywhere close to Stillwater, Oklahoma, and I was only used to seeing UH-1 Hueys, CH-47 Chinooks, occasional AH-1 Cobras, and civilian aircraft in the skies. As I got close I could not hear anything, having ridden in large helicopters before, and been around them while in the Military (later in life) I realize how much racket they make.

There was no wind this night, which is unusual for Northern Oklahoma. I decided to place my car in neutral, and then turn off the engine, so the only sound would be the tires on the blacktop. My windows were down because it was still warm outside, and my car did not have any air conditioning.

There was complete silence, other than the sound of the tires on the blacktop, and the tall Johnson grass on the side of the road was not swaying around. There was no rotor wash from the blades of a helicopter, nor the rotor slap that would have been audible. When someone is this close to a helicopter the rotor slap often generates sound waves so powerful that a person can “feel” them as well.

At this point I realized it was not a large helicopter and I began to panic, as I was quite familiar with the UFO phenomenon from early age. I quickly turned the car back on and threw it back into drive and sped off towards my home. Just on the off chance it might be a blimp of some sort, I peered over my left shoulder as I was travelling east of the object and looked at it as it was now in front of the “haze” or pink skyline of the City of Stillwater.

The air is rather dirty in that part of Oklahoma, and even small communities have skylines that are shrouded in a pinkish layer of light pollution at night. In addition there were thick clouds that night, and the ceiling for the clouds was low enough to reflect a lot of the light pollution. This should have provided me enough difference to see if there was a structure above a “gondola” that would have been on a very large blimp.

But all I could see where the bright blue, white, and red landing lights that gave the object its distinct box and/or rectangle shape. The combination of bright skyline, low cloud ceiling, and the angle of the object should have made any giant gas containing structure of a dirigible visible as a dark shadow against the background. At this point I accelerated to a high rate of speed, and proceeded to go home, which was about another two miles east of this location.

The home I lived in was perched on a hill, and when I got out of the car and looked to the West, I could see the object just above the trees. When I got inside, I went into my Father's room and attempted to wake him up and see if he would come and observe it. He was tired, it was way past his bed time, and he did not believe in “UFO nonsense” so despite my frantic state, would not get out of bed or listen to what I had to say.

Because it was above the tree line, and I had no other reference points, my guess to its size is simply that. It looked about the side of two greyhound busses set side by side. After calling a friend who lived in town and telling him about it, I was brave enough to walk out to the edge of the yard and look west to see if it was still there, but it had disappeared.

This happened sometime in the fall of 1989 or 1990, but I do not remember the exact date. Another friend talked me into going to the wheat field and looking it over the next day, but it had been plowed sometime in the past couple of weeks, and was soft from rainfall. We saw nothing in the general area where I observed it to be hovering that would indicate that it had landed.

No sounds were heard from the object. Because that was and still is a sparsely populated part of the area, I knew no one to ask to see if they had observed it as well. In addition the fear of ridicule meant only my Father, and a couple of close friends knew about the encounter.

Lights over Oklahoma City All kinds of people witnessed lights in the sky in Oklahoma City some time in spring. We ended up cooking out to watch the beautiful lights move and change. It was on the news that people were witnessing this event but the reporters, police, etc.

could not determine what is was nor did they follow up with other reports. It was a documented situation throughout the city. My brother had a personal experience on this night while driving on the highway.

He and his friend personally witnessed an aircraft of some sort near the airport, hovering over their car. Anyway, I just wanted to report this so that you could follow up perhaps. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the event is approximate.

Witnessed with a friend, a large, rectangular object hovering at sundown in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was about sundown on a March evening in 1989. I forgot the exact day.

I was riding in my friend’s Jeep and we were heading back to his apartment. We were stopped at a red light at an intersection heading east. Up in the Southeastern sky, it looked like a jet airliner was on fire heading down toward Earth.

The smoke and fire cleared after a few seconds and revealed a large, rectangle shaped, solid object. It had dozens of white lights along the side. I want to say they seemed to be windows, because the light seemed to be coming from inside the object, not mounted on the outside.

The object seemed to be about a football field or so long. It hovered at treetop level at a fifteen degree angle slowly drifting north about a mile away. It made no sound.

Everyone in their cars at the intersection was freaking out. All of this took place over about a minute or so, maybe less. It had drifted pretty far North by the time the traffic light turned green.

That's when we saw and heard fighter jets (lights out) screaming toward the object from the far Southern sky. As we hurried to try to get under it to get a better view, we lost sight of it for a few seconds because of the trees on the left side of the road. When we got to the next intersection, the jets flew right over us, and we saw the object way down the street.

I could see the back end of it. I would guess it was about a mile away, moving faster and much higher in the sky now. We knew we would never catch up with it.

Almost as soon as we saw it, it quickly moved very high in the sky at an unbelievable speed, and it was gone. About an hour later, I went and told my Dad about it, and drew some sketches. We watched the ten o’clock news, as they were going to have a story WITH FILM FOOTAGE of an object seen in the sky that night.

The film they showed was taken by a lady that had been at a local nearby restaurant that evening, and it had that restaurant’s sign in the foreground. But what they showed looked like a falling star, nothing more. No word from the dozens of witnesses that saw what we saw.

No footage of the object hovering a hundred feet or so off the ground, or any of the rest of it. They said it was a "Russian satellite falling out of its orbit." When those things happen, don't they know about when and where those things will fall? I'm all the time hearing weathermen saying things like, "Keep an eye in the Western sky tonight to catch a glimpse of blah blah blah.

Over the years, I've wondered how many other people saw that, and I've wanted to compare notes. I haven't been able to find anything in any newspaper of TV. archives that even told the story.

Since that night, I've questioned everything. I truly believe the government knows much more than we even believe they do. I hate to sound like one of those conspiracy freaks, but after seeing undisputable proof that we are not alone, it makes me uneasy to not have the whole story.

Anyway, that's my story, as best as I can remember it. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that date is approximate. PD)).

Summary : My friend and I who were both 16 at the time were driving to her house on state highway 51 westbound. We were going to be late for curfew so we were in a hurry. there were no cars coming in either direction.

We were driving along and something caught my peripheral vision to the north. We saw about 5 or 6 bright lights coming up from the ground behind the tree line they were so bright they looked like spotlights shining straight up into the air. I was freaking out telling her to stop so we could see what that was so we slowed down considerebly then these lights started to turn in a complete circle all at the same time.

We were both going Oh my God what the hell is that?!!! Then the lights just started crisscrossing over one another very fast. I was still begging her to stop so we could watch them but she was afraid of getting in trouble for being late for curfew already so we just drove off. I believe this was a ufo on the ground there are no buildings or houses around where this happened only fields and trees a fairly rural area.

This is one of the strangest things I have ever seen. I don't remember the exact date I only remember it was late spring or early summer in 1989 My friend Kristie VanBrunt and myself were driving westbound on highway 51 to her house we were going to be late for curfew and she didnt want to get in trouble. We were just driving along talking and all of a sudden out of the corner of my right eye I see these incredibly bright white lights shining straight up into the sky there were about 5 or 6 of them and they were arranged in a circle the lights were behind the tree line coming up from the ground.

I was like WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!!! and told my friend to stop the truck so we could see she wouldn't stop partly out of fear of her parents and the fact she did not know what we were seeing but we did slow down to about 10 miles per hour there were no cars in either direction as far as we could see which was unusual. The lights started to turn around in a big circle they stayed in their posistion but the whole thing was turning slowly at first then very fast. Then the lights just started going crazy criss crossing each other and we were both just staring with our jaws wide open in disbelief at what we were seeing I started screaming to stop but she wouldn't.

I am now 24 years old I have 2 children I am a supervisor in a telecommunications center and consider my self very normal. My friend is a homemaker mother of 1. We have not told very many people about this because people look at us like were nuts.

Every since then I have had a firm belief in ufos.
