UFO sightings in the eastern sky. In the eastern sky we observed a total of what appeared to be three ufo's that changed in shape and size. We documented this event via camcorder for approx.
1 hour 30 mins. The largest ufo appeared yellowish in color around the perimeter and had a redish center. The two smaller ufo's where mainly red in color and were only visible for a 10 min period.
The objects often moved and changed shapes and sizes. The larger ufo at times resembled the moon, other times it would appear to break apart into multi objects and other times it appeared to rotate into the shape of a half moon. This sighting was clearly the most out of this world my family has ever had.

December '04 - Bright meteor in NW North Carolina Around 10:30pm (plus or minus an hour) in southeastern Stokes county on Saturday 12/11/04 there was what appeared to be a fantastic meteor (most likely a Geminid--they peaked the following Monday night). There were low clouds, a friend and I were walking in a field when we noticed a bright light to our right. We turned and the light seemed to punch through the clouds.
It was stunningly bright--it lit up the surrounding woods like a slow, gigantic camera flash. Green tail with orange sparks trailing behind it. It seemed to come straight down (no visible arc), and seemed to disappear just before touching the ground.
We could see the shadow of trees behind it, so we know the object made it into the adjacent valley, but it seemed to go dark before it would have made impact. I believe it was a meteor, but it was the closest encounter I've ever had with one! I expect the object was somewhere between .25 to .
75 miles away. ((NUFORC Note: Possible meteor. PD)).

Smooth circle (bottom) of silvery craft disappeared into larger invisible apparently 'cloaked' craft -- no sound. I live in coastal N. C.
It was late afternoon and the sky was hazy blue. I was in the same general area as the 9/17/04 sighting. The smooth silvery craft appeared to be at cloud base moving very slowly southeast.
It had no wings, no lights, but appeared to be a smooth circle--may have been bottom of a craft. As it hit the edge of a cloud a big reflectiion from the sun shot out momentarily. The craft then started to move slowly upwards (about 10-20') when strange dark straight lines appeared next to it.
I then realized it was approaching the bottom of another much larger craft--the lines were part of the larger ship. The larger craft was completely invisible to the eye from where I was except for the lines. The circular craft proceeded to enter a dark, cloud-edged opening and on into the ship and all disappeared.

Huge, slow moving, silent, black triangular shaped craft flying at very low altitude. I was new to the area at this time and was by myself driving on a two lane road outside of Fuquay Varina, NC. It was a crystal clear night without a moon when I spotted four large round lights glowing softly off to the right side of the road ahead about a quarter of a mile away.
They seemed to be motionless at first and my first thought was that they were lights on top of a communications tower because of the numerous towers in the area. Then I realized that tower lights were just small blinking lights there to warn aircraft of their position. These lights were large, about 3' in diameter, they didn't blink, and they had a soft glow like a child's night light, not like a spot light, and they didn't light up the ground or anything around them.
Then I noticed they weren't stationary, but they were moving very slowly towards the road that I was on. I started to slow down and realized that it was going to cross over the road right over my head if I slowed down enough, which I did. I rolled down the windows of the car so I could hear it but there was no sound at all.
There were trees lining both sides of the road that obscured my sight of this object as it got nearer to me but I finally slowed down to the point that I came to a complete stop on the road. I hadn't seen any other cars on this road at all and hadn't passed any houses for miles, so it was pretty much an isolated and deserted part of the country, so I was safe to sit at a stop on the road with my car idling, windows down with my head out the window and looking up as the front of this thing appeared over the tree tops and slowly and silently floated overhead. It wasn't more than a couple hundred feet high at the most because it wasn't much higher than the pine trees alongside the road.
Its speed made me think of a blimp cruising along. It was black and blended in with the pitch black night, making it very hard to see the exact shape of it inspite of being so close, but I could make out what appeared to be panels on the uder side of the craft as the front disappeard over the trees on the opposite side of the road. It continued to glide in total silence at a very slow speed until the back of the craft appeared over the trees on the right side of the road and then disappeared over the treetops on the left side of the road.
I couldn't see the whole craft at one time because of the trees so the exact size and shape is hard to determine for sure, but because of my occupation I can be considered a very reliable source for size and shape estimates, and I believe what I saw was in a triangular shape and was at least 300' long and 150' wide. And the strangest part about it is that as it passed over me not more than 200' to 300' overhead, I didn't see the four large round lights that first brought my attention to the object. I was directly under the craft so they might have been located on the sides and not visible from where I looked up at it.
I have only told a few people about this experience because nobody seems to believe anything that can't be explained, and that things that don't fall within our general knowledge of things just can't be true and must have been imagined. But I know what I saw and I didn't imagine anything. And this wasn't something that was in the distance either.
It was only a few hundred feet away from me at the most. It was huge, totally silent, moving very slowly, and because it was either painted black or made of a very dark material it was almost invisible against a black night sky. I'm glad I finally found a place that I can tell about this experience because it's been on my mind for the past year and seems so significant that it should be told.

A bright object appeared suddenly, moved south, disappeared and was chased by jets. My son and I were looking at the stars and then a light just came on in the middle of the sky it looked brighter than the north star and it moved south, it was very high up because it only moved a few inches i.e.
I held out my arm and closed one eye and it moved maybe 4 finger tip lengths. Then it just diappeared there was no tail so I thought it was not a meteor or comet, then a few minutes later two jets came towards the same spot the ufo was in 1 flew south the other went west then headed south, 10- 15 minutes later two more jets arrived and headed south at high speeds.

UFO Detector Based on Magnetometer Triggered On Halloween a few hours before the UFO report on your site a UFO detector based on a magnetometer on my desk activated. I was not home at the time, so my secretary felt morally felt obligated to go outside and look around. She said she felt like an idiot staring up in the air as was seen by some neighbors who asked "what are you looking at" and she answered .
have no idea and felt stupid and went back inside. She said she did not see a darn thing and told me it had been a false alarm. I looked over the next few days at your website to see if anyone saw anything to no avail.
This unit has only activated twice in a few years so pondered what was up --I did see other UFO reports on your site that day and kinda finally just left it to an unknown. I just saw today that someone made a UFO report at the same point and almost laid an egg. you will also note i made this same report of the same craft described at the same location also being observed in January 2001 and was chased by aircraft away here in Arden near the Asheville airport.
Now i am left believing the UFO detector DID pick up a real magnetic disturbance made by the UFO that someone else saw. THIS IS COOL!.

Red light dividing into 4 I was fishing down on the beach near Avon thursday night around 8 pm. I turned to walk back to my truck and saw some strange red lights in the sky. I was wondering if maybe you know what these lights were.
With my back to the ocean, the light appeared just a little to the left. It was high in the sky. About cloud level at maybe a 45 degree angle from me.
It was round about the size of your little finger nail held out at arms length. The light first appeared by itself for about two seconds then another light seemed to come out of it like almost instantly to the left. It was spaced away from the first about the same distance as the diameter of the first light then another came out of the second, and another, and another, until there were either four or five lights side-by-side in the sky all the same size.
Then I can't, remember for sure, they either went out all at one time or they went out one at a time in the order they lit up. I was fishing south of the point wednesday night and saw two red lights side-by-side lower to the ground toward Frisco. I didn't really think anything about them at the time.
I assumed they were two jets. They were just lit for a couple of seconds also.

There were three full moons side-by-side sitting motionless in the night sky. I think one must have been the real moon. The light came through the window so bright it woke me up.
I could see them through the slats in the blinds from where I slept. I got out of bed twice to check and looked out of 2 different windows. It greatly distressed me because 3 moons just aren't natural.
I eventually fell back to sleep. I compared it the following night. There was only one moon in the same location and time.

I saw a ball of white light plummet at a 45 degree angle, with the white tail displaying bands of color (spectrum) just before impact. I was traveling north on 19-23 at 11:17 pm on October 24. It was between mile marker 26 and 24.
I saw a ball of bright white light plummeting at approximately a 45 degree angle, very fast. The ball was not perfectly defined--it appeared to have motion, whirling, with bright light coming out of it. There was a white tail.
The ball of light was about three-quarters to a full size of what would be considered an ordinary full moon. In the instant before the ball disappeared from sight, about a third of the length of the tail (the portion of the tail closest to the ball) displayed colors as in a spectrum, in distinct, separate bands of distinct colors, being of fairly wide breadth. The bands of color were perpendicular to the tail, not lengthwise.
And the rest of the tail remained white. I heard no crash, there was no display of light as in an explosion, I heard or felt no rumble or shudder. It was just gone.

Very fast and turned. Not a meteor. Sitting at a stop sign on country road and facing south we both saw object moving very fast at about 45 degree angle from horizon.
Object had bright light on front with lesser light behind it. First thought was meteor due to incredible speed, but soon realized it was not falling, but heading west on horizonal path. My friend jumped out of car to observe better and object curved into a northly direction.
We tried to pursue a better view, but it was soon out of sight over northern horizon. There was no sound at all. Too fast for airplane & we don't think missles have lights on them(?).

Looked like rectangle parachutes but nobody was under the canopies, objects never desended. I was looking at new auto's at a local dealership and looked overhead and saw 4 rectangle blue and red objects. To the right of these objects was a larger off-white object with darker color on the bottom of it.
I estimate these objects to be at approximately 5 or 6 thousand feet high. They were staying in a formation type configuration except for the off-white object which seemed to move at it's own will staying in close relation to the other 4 objects. When I first spotted these I thought they were skydivers that opened their shoots real high, that's what it looked like initially.
The four smaller objects seemed to be travelling with the winds aloft but the larger object seemed to be able to control itself. Being a pilot I've flown airplanes for the past twenty five years and I've NEVER seen anything like this. I could'nt even sleep last night thinking about it.
I observed this activity for at least five minutes until the objects slowly disappeared from sight. Sky conditions were perfectly clear, visibility unlimited.

bright white object seen above trees While driving toward home, I looked over the treeline to the southeast, and saw a bright white light above the trees. It was dark, so I couldnt really give an accurate estimate of distance above/from trees. It seemed to be a craft, moving upwards, moved really quicky in a sideways 'V' pattern (basically like the 'less-than' symbol), then seemed to vanish.
My father was in the car as well, though he was driving and wasnt paying attention to the sky. My background: I am a 22 year old Psychology major in my Junior year of college.

pulsing light racing us on the highway outside charlotte, nc for some reason my roomate and i decided to leave wilmington and drive to charlotte at 11:00pm on thursday night last week. we had planned on going on friday but decided to leave that night spontaneously. a stop at the gas station for soda and cigs and we were off.
when we crossed the bridge and got on 74 i noticed that there were no cars in front of us or behind us as, as if we were the only ones on the road. we spent most of the ride listening to music and relaxing, frequently looking at the night sky. at about 2:00-2:15am when we were roughly 20 miles from inner charlotte on highway 74 a ball/disc of light came up parallel to our car on the passenger side right above the trees as if it was traveling along the direction of the highway as well.
It made me feel weird and unsafe because it rode right next to and infront of us. a good way to describe how close it was it was like 3 lanes over, about 40 feet in altitude, pulsing, producing a pulsing trail that was similar to a tear drop stretched out. it began to move side to side and up and down rythmicly pulsing and gave us one last big pulse and it just dissapeared/vanished into thin air.
this was my first encounter/eye witness of whatever it was and i am now addicted to glancing at the sky, frequently scanning for it.

Blue star burst that lasted about 2 seconds with a sonic boom, no smoke trail. Very clean light . I was outside burning a cig.
Eyes were already adjusted to the darkness. Looking up in the sky just pondering. Heard a boom as if it might be a 105 cannon but felt no shock from Fort Bragg.
I know those sounds well for I work on Fort Bragg, NC. Sound was up in the air high, felt as if it was back behind me about 40 miles second boom about 0.5 seconds after the first Any how , Looked up and saw a Blue star burst in the ESE sky.
Burst lasted about 1-2 seconds and looked as if it was up there at about 40 degree angle at about the 50 thousand foot height flight area. Size of object was about the size of a quarter and lasted about 2 seconds. Very clean blue light with bright white in center of blue burst.
Blue light ring looked as as if the middle of it was being sucked out of it. Sky was/is clear with no clouds , unlimited vis., can see all stars tonight , no moon and very little ground light, temp ~65F, No smoke trail or fire trail as in a "shooting star", no smoke trail as when the troops drop flares in the sky at night for night drops, No secondary light as when they send up a flash flair, they have some trailing light after they go off.
Could see regular stars after the blue burst dissipated in 2 seconds. Do not contact me, just giving you the information for you to compute if there are/ were other sightings of this tonight on the East coast.

a gigantic aircraft that had no sound at all. i was sitting on my couch in my upstairs apartment and i seen a bright light out side as i was trying to use my cell phone. so i went outside to see what it was and almost as soon as i opend my door the light went out.
but thier were three remaining lights. their were two blinking red lights at each end of a monsterous air craft. their was also a light that looked like it could have been a cockpit of some sort because it gave off a light such as one that you would see inside a house if you were driving down the road.
but this object was so close to the ground and so huge that if it were an airplane it would have made a very noticable sound. so i watched in amezement as the object slowly moved across the sky. i live in the mountains so it was way to low for a blimp or anything like that to be flying here.
i would say it was only about 150 yards in the air above me.

Smooth oval with indistinguishable darker area around center, silvery color, disappeared in a split-second. I live in a rural area of coastal N. C.
Hurricane Ivan had just passed our area. It was late afternoon and a large part of the sky was clear blue. After a hurricane the clouds are lied up picturesquely.
I happened to look up because of the beauty of the clear blue sky color, and out of the corner of my eye I noticed a craft moving very slowly northward. It had no wings, no lights, but appeared to be a smooth oval except for an indistinguishable darker area around center - horizontally. It semed to be about the height of the cloud bases.
The color was silver or white reflecting the color of the sky. I watched it saunter along for a few minutes, I turned my head, and when I turned back It had disappeared. As slow as it was moving, it couldn't reach the nearest cloud in the area in that split second of time.
