Large triangular object with white lights along the side. Silent I was driving along highway 429 South between Liberty and Siler City. On my left, I saw a large (1/2 football field) sized triangular object with solid white lights going along the side.
The object was motionless above the trees beside the road. There was no sound. I pulled off onto the emergency lane and stopped.
Noted that perhaps 4-5 other cars had slowed/stopped also. Kept watching this object until it just disappeared. One moment, it was there and the next, it was gone.

I was talking with an acquaintance outside a house on a cold clear night. As we talked, my attention was distracted by an airborn vehicle with a row of white lights across the front. There was no sound at all.
It was not a plane, I did not know what I was looking at. I had to stop my conversation and ask what it was. The other person said he saw things like that frequently and that the locals referred to them as space ships.
It came in very close and I had the distincet impression that it was aware of us and was beningn. It then zipped away up into the stars at a very fast rate toward a the middle of a triangluar constellation. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that date of incident is approximate.
PD)).

Sphere shaped object about the size of a water tower, spinning rapidly. I remember the night very vividly and I am pretty sure about the date because it was the day before school started back. My mother and I were riding home from the grocery store and as we approached the road we lived on we noticed a big redish/orange sphere above the trees.
At first we thought it was the moon because sometimes when the moon rises it looks red, but we marveled at how big it was. As we got closer we noticed that it wasn't the moon and it was hovering about 30 feet above the tree line right where we had to turn. Well, as we turned down our road the object was on the passenger side where I was sitting and I got very good look at it.
It was about the size of the top of a water tower and it was spinning very rapidly, it had the same texture as you see in pictures of a glowing hot sun, and vapor was shooting off of it as it spun. I was 8 years old at the time and I remember going to school the next day and telling my teacher and other students in the class what I saw because I was sure one of them had seen it too. unfortunatly none of them had seen it and found the story very amusing.
lol The object was seen by me and my mother in Clayton off of Powhatan Rd. and Davis Rd. David Rd is now Glen Laurel Rd.

Sphere accelerates at high rate. I was coming home from morning work along on I-40 headed east. At the Jamestown exit I looked up and there it floated.
Mirrored Sphere at around 1,000 ft elevation above ground. It floated towards east for a few seconds then accelerated at a tremendous rate to the east and parallel to the ground. Sky was very clear and cloudless.
This object dwindled into the distance and faded to a speck and was gone in 3-4 sec. Acceleration was multiple high G. No sonic boom heard although it passed Mach easily.
I was driving at slow rate and had my windows open. This was an incredible phenomena. I am a professional engineer now but was 18 at the time.
This object behaved as if it had very exotic propulsion system. I speculate gravity control or magneto-hydrodynamic drive?! Very amazing!.
