Mother and children witness dome-shaped object with lights ascending from the ground and hovering overhead i had young children and had picked up a neighbor's child to spend the night. After coming up our drive, I stopped my volkswagen so the children could look at the stars for a few minutes. (Our home is surrounded by woods and ascends into a mountain.

) As I reached for my keys in the switch and turned my lights on, the dome-shaped object came up from out of our woods. It started ascending and as it ascended, lights started going around the sides of the craft. The higher it climbed it seemed the faster the lights would go.

I can remember red, white and green lights. I was so shocked, that I just sat there in the road. It hovered for a few minutes over a hickory tree which was alongside of our drive.

I wouldn't get out of my car, but I asked my oldest son (who was 12 years of age, where the object was and he said it was just stationary over our car. It just ascended calmly until it was out of sight. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.

While returning from Rockingham, NC, on Hwy 1 after spending time with my wife’s aunt that was extremely ill. It was prior to leaving with my wife and 3 children for an overseas assignment. While driving on Hwy 1 between Rockingham and Aberdine, I suddenly saw a circular object moving over the Hwy.

I stopped just off the road and watched the object until it disappeared. It moved rather slowly with colored lights on the outer perimeter and was turning slowly in a circular motion. The object was just over the height of the trees so easily seen.

I have never seen anything like it before or since. I thought it might be a craft related to Pope Air Force base or Fort Brag, which are both in the area but it was strange enough to discount that thought and believe it was a UFO.

saw 5or 6 lights circling overhead object blocked out stars. object was silent and very large, myself and a friend were walking in the same area we always walked, when I noticed 5 or 6 lights moving in a circle .The lights were white in color.

I do not remember looking up at all, I do know I was frozen in fear,it was like they wanted me to see it. When I looked out around the lights it blocked out the stars it was a clear night,so I was sure what I was seeing, After 15 or 20 seconds I told my friend to look up,when he did the object went straight up and left the earth, It did not vanish,we were both seeing the same thing,we took off running screaming,that night we lost about 4 or 5 hours of time.After we saw whatever it was for some reason we were wore out and we just went home and went to sleep.

The next morning my friends forehead look like someone put a softball under his skin,also I had a hole in my hip that had some kind of black object that looked like a rock . It was there for about 20 years just under the skin and then it seemed like it vanished,it may still be there.I have been having a lot problems both physical and emotional,I must tell someone.

UFO seen in 1975 on a desserted hwy. in NC It was summer, in 1975 when an object followed our car for miles on an empty highway road and the UFO followed us for 15 minutes so we stopped and pulled off of the road and all three of us got out and the UFO pulled up beside us and stopped and hovered above the tree tops about 250 meters away from us and the UFO had multicolored lights that flashed around the mid-section sequencially, Purple,red,white with weird speckles of light inside of it,yellow,green, etc. It just hovered for a long time and the lights turned purple and the lights reversed direction and and flashed in the opposite direction.

Then it started to land just behind a few trees that were widely spaced apart and it landed on the lawn in a field across from us which was approx. 250 meters from where we were at, and we got scared and got back in our VW Beetle (New) and we got out of there. It was very terrifying at the time and we were very scared about what happened.

There was no one around at all, no cars, people, etc. Nothing at all. I just wanted to share this experience because I think we all have been in shock and disbelief for so long about this experience.

Disk-shaped object with glowing red dome hovered a few feet from the ground, came close, then shot off. I am a nurse, my husband is a doctor. Have not told my story to many people.

After watching THE FORTH KIND at the theater, my husband wanted me to relate this story. I was approx 13-14 yrs old. My brother was two years younger.

We were outside of our little country church with several other kids waiting for choir practice to end. Someone noticed an object hovering near us in the cow pasture very close to where we were standing. No sound.

The object was disk-shaped with a glowing red dome on top, hovering a few feet from the ground. We were approx 50 ft (or so) away from the object. It slowly came closer.

Everyone stopped. Could have heard a pin drop. It then shot off to the right of us toward the trees and was gone in an instant.

Again, no sound. While with my family at Christmas a couple of years ago, I had my brother (now retired military) tell his version to my husband. It was the same.

We are in our 40's and never talk about this. He never forgot either. I would love to ask the others, but they moved away years ago.

Davenport, I was surprised to get a reply from you. My husband has been after me to tell someone about this since he has known me. It was such a long time ago that I felt it was not prudent now.

Windsor, North Carolina, is a small county town with a lot of farmland and open spaces. There have been multiple sightings. My older cousin saw a disc-shaped object nestled in a field surrounded by woods on her way home just around dusk one evening.

(I believe it was not long after my sighting). It lifted up and over her car, hovered in an adjacent field then took off. This was years ago and told to me by my mother.

This was when we lived a mile down a country dirt road, and she lived just past us with her husband. The object that I witnessed was apparently seen by adults the following week at church. I was not there, I did not see it again.

What I saw left a lasting impression on me. I am a true believer. I wish I could re-live the moment and remember everything.

I have always said that I would love to be hypnotized and return to that moment and see it again as an adult. I would love to remember every detail of my experience. I now live just outside Raleigh, NC, with my husband and children.

I have never seen a UFO again, but always look to the sky's in hopes of seeing one. This experience is always with me, so many years later. Never far from my mind.

Isn't that crazy? I will ask my brother, but he is retired military and works for the government in Virginia and may not feel comfortable doing this. The others, I have lost contact with 20+ years ago and have no idea where they are now. Three of them were the pastor's kids, and they moved many times since then: ((three names of observers deleted)).

I hope this helps. I know that there are many people out there with their own stories. I spoke with one of my patients the other day about her experience (we were discussing the movie THE FOURTH KIND and she shared an interesting story regarding a sighting in New Jersey).

This disk with various colors of light 'oozing' around the bottom section was seen just above the trees at the corner Dotger Avenue and 7th Street (above 2420 E. 7th Street) sometime around 1975. I was only a child when my mother call me from the kitchen with a certain urgency in her voice that was never heard before or ever again after the event.

I suppose I was only six or seven (1974 or 1975) when her eerie cry had me running from the living room where the TV had been keeping me company. I joined her at the window and witnessed something less than 60 meters away. “Do you see it?” she asked.

I did see it. I saw it. Beautiful! How flawless in form, size, and color for a vehicle.

A big, rounded flying… car? The bottom section of the disk had a bright blue glow that was being replaced by a new color from left to right as it seemed to ooze into view. A new color followed it around (always counter-clockwise) very slowly as I heard my mother ask a new question. “What is it?” “I think it is a…” Then I thought, ‘My mother is asking me what it is? You mean she doesn’t know? Was she testing me? The color red began to ooze in behind the last color and then just as slowly came another.

Mesmerized, my mother and I watched this thing hover just above the trees and give us the lava lamp show of our lives. Before long we were saying the colors in unison as they came into view and waited a few seconds for the next color to appear. I remember wanting to be the first to guess the next color or say what it was as soon as I could see any hint at what the color would be as it slowly made it’s appearance.

“Blu-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-e… gre-e-e-e-e-e-e-n…” “Hey Mom, can we go outside?" After several minutes my panic-stricken mother moved me to the dining room where I watched it from a bay window and she made phone calls to police, the airport, my dad, and then gave up from frustration at being laughed at or hung up on. I watched the flying saucer and for so long that I actually got bored of it and went back to the TV set only to return to the window during commercial breaks. Alas, it was out of view.

What could have been the most remarkable encounter of the first kind, was over and done without even a single photo. The heavily used camera was out of film. I had one of the most extraordinary experiences ever and it never really sunk in until the day I told someone what I saw and they laughed at me.

Silent rocking 4ft silver sphere hovering 2ft of the ground with tremendous takeoff speed. In 1975 I was a marine stationed at Camp Lejeune. North Carolina.

I was a military policeman and was working the graveyard shift with my partner. As we turned down this certain street I noticed a silvery light about 100 yards away on the left side of the road.I told my partner to check it out and to keep his eyes on it since I was driving.

As we got within 50 yards or so I could not figured out what the light was. I thought that maybe, since the light was near a trash dumpster, that an scavanging animal had maybe pulled out a plastic bag and it was reflecting back our headlight beams. This part of the base is near a wooded area right next to a large inlet of water, so I thought that my animal theory was probably correct.

When we got to about 25 yards away from the light to my surprise it was not an animal with plastic trash bag but a silvery color sphere about approximately 48 to 60 inches wide. It hovered off the ground approximately 2 ft. It made no noise and just kinda floated just a bit to and fro.

By this time I had slowed my patrol vehicle to less than 5 miles per hour and was slowly inching our way towards the sphere. At about 10 yards away from the object, I got a good look at it. It didnot have a smooth surface but rather a surfaced made of crumpled tin foil and every time it shifted positions it would reflect our headlight beams.

By this time my partner was mesmerized he seem to be in a trance and would not answer my questions. At this time I grabbed hold of my spotlight control and aimed at the object. The object began to move to the edge of the road.

I then shot it with the spotlight beam and the object stopped and rotated on its axis several times and than shot across the road at a tremendous rate of speed. It was so fast that one second it was right in front of us then it was gone leaving like a trail of light behind it. '' It dissappeared into a patch of trees.

I had been in radio communications with my Desk Sargeant who had dispatched some backup patrols to my location but they got there to late. After searching the area for more than an hour we finally call it quits and I went back to the station to submit my report. All this time my partner never spoke a word he was in some kind of shock.

went walking dog with two brothers,on what is now chilly bowl road,right about at train tracks we stopped to let her run,alarge disc shaped object,pulsating green on the bottom hovered over highway 221 for about 50 seconds.two others saw it come down from outer space, hover,then shoot back into space.theywere up the road about a mile,up on the hill.

This was a rotating circular craft with colored lights which circled under the craft Red and blue were the predominant colors of light This happened a long time ago. I was having problems with my parents so I ran away from home I talked my best friend into going with me so we took off on our spider bikes and rode to my 7th grade girlfriend’s house and about 2am I fell asleep in the grass in her front yard. I never knocked on her door or tried to contact her I’m not sure why.

About 3 am. I woke up to a carnival of lights circling around this “flying saucer” for lack of a better description. I have never forgotten this but you must realize that people just didn’t talk about this sort of thing back then without people thinking you were crazy.

The following morning we headed home knowing the hell we were going to catch. I never asked my friend if he saw it or not. We’ve reconnected on Facebook and I think I’ll ask him.

I never got the beating I deserved I think my parents were so glad I was ok they just forgot about it. My friend on the other hand got his butt whipped with a hairbrush.
