Connecticut UFO Sightings in 1975

Very low flying object with spinning multicolors. Craft did not seem to spin and had fire coming from rear. Low muffled fire sound.

On a whim, I just visited the website "ufos in Connecticut" because I saw a news bit on tv about a recent British report declassification. I was amazed to see a listing of a sighting from 1969 that was just like what I experienced as a boy. It has been a long time but I remember it like this.

I was playing in the yard at night with three other children who lived in the house next door. This was in Kent in the 1970's and it was very rural and quiet there. It was a very still and clear night.

We were playing hide and seek and happened to be in a group in the center of the yard. I was about 12. The other boy, ((name deleted)), was my age and his twin sisters were about 10.

The yard is surrounded by dense trees so it is impossible to see more than 50 yards in any one direction. Basically, the only way to look any distance is staight up. We were standing there and a flying object came over so low I remember it was maybe a couple hundred yards higher than the tallest elm trees.

It was multicolored and disc shaped. The multicolors seemed to spin as if the disc was spinning. But I remember that just the colors were spinning.

The craft itself was not spinning and this was evident because flames were shooting out the back. Just like the short report I just read, it was very silent except for a deep muffled sound which sounding like flames burning. It flew right over the house and disappeared.

We ran inside to tell our parents, who were enjoying cocktails together. I remember my mother simply dismissing it as an airplane and we could not convince them of what we saw. I was very surprised to see the description from Bristol, Ct.

It was very similar to my experience.

i made me feel it was a living thing. that it was alive The best way I can give the exact date of my sighting is there was a news story on tv by walter Cronkite in 1976 or 75. The news story was about ufo and trips to eternity in a ufo where families even gave away there own kids to go on a trip to eternity.

A lot of bs agreed. Anyway heres what happened. Thinking about that news story later that night I was wondering if they can read minds So I kept thinking where I am with land marks and directions in my head thinking About new york by looking at a world map.

Right down to where my town is And what my house looks like and what’s near it. So later I sead and watched kojack on tv. As I lay on my bed watching tv what I first think was the moon came in view and maybe It was there all the time and I didn’t know it.

Then it moved. Exact direction north east. The edges of it seem to have points and when it moved it looked like it was crawling on the sky.

It was round. With small points all around its edge that get longer then Shorter like its pulling itself across the sky. What ever it was I think it was a living thing Of some kind.

I was afraid to go near a window night for some time. Or go out at Night. I reported this to other ufo sites just check my story about the trips to eternity and Walter Cronkite.

I don’t know how to spell his name so this is a sound like. And I was so afraid because I could feel it knows me. And can see me.

I hope I never see it again. But it leaves me with the memory and I still would like it Explained to me what I saw NOTE i no longer live in greenwich ct and cant give my current address.

it was a living thing all i can tell you from my close sighting is it was a light. i know what i saw it came close. its a living thing and not nuts and bolts it wanted me.

i was so afraid i called out to god. then whatever it was going to do stopped and it went away. it made no sound.

it wanted to take me. i will not explain how i knew this or you may call this report a fake. but i will tell you they are evil.

after that later on i read the bible and Enoch. Enoch explains them. this happened on the same night there was braking news with Walter Cronkite about people giving there homes and children away to go on a trip to eternity in a UFO.

not sure of the date so i put October 15 1975. which is maybe the wrong date. i am still trying to find the date of that braking news that night.

BRIGHT LIGHT WATCHING US SLEEP 2:00 AM THEN GONE HIGH RATE OF SPEED WESTON CT PRIVATE HOME MY HUSBAND AND I WERE ASLEEP IT WAS 2:00AM THE NIGHT WAS CLEAR, WARM SUMMER NIGHT.I WAS AWAKEN BY A BRIGHT WHITE LIGHT SHINING IN MY BEDROOM WINDOW WHICH WAS OPEN AT THE TIME. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS THE MOON THAN I REALIZED THE OBJECT WHICH WAS TOTALLY ROUND LIKE THE MOON BUT ABOUT 3X'S LARGER THAN THE MOON WOULD BE AND VERY BRIGHT AND CLOSE TO THE EARTH.

IT JUST HUNG IN THE SKY VERY STILL AND QUIET.I WOKE MY HUSBAND AND ASK HIM WHAT IS THAT? HE HAD NO ANSWER THEN ALL AT ONCE IT TOOK OFF AT A VERY HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND WAS GONE.NO NOISE AT ALL.

I ALWAYS HAD THE FEELING IT HAD BEEN WATCHING US SLEEP AND BECAUSE WE WOKE IT LEFT VERY FAST.

A very large yellow-orange disk hovered above the trees before appearing to degrade to a small round white light as it flew away. There was a time lapse involved between first sighting and take off. I was starting first grade, and remember this story well.

Not knowing what i had seen, I described it to my classmates in full detail the next day, thereby I believe committing the encounter permanently to memory. I have not related this story to anyone else because, just telling my brothers about it, received so much skepticism that i allowed myself to just 'forget' that it ever happened. I am now 28 years old, have a BS in Computer Engineering, and am a partner in a Computer Engineering Consulting firm.

I feel that any public knowledge of what i am about to relate could be damaging to my credibility, and wish to keep this account anonymous as far as the public is concerned. But, i also feel i must finally relate this account to an authoritative source whom may be able to quell my concerns. In retrospect, I finally identified the time lapse that took place.

This concerns me more than anything, taking into account my current state of mind. I feel that this encounter, as long ago as it was, may have changed my life significantly without even recognizing it, until now. It was late summer, 1975.

My parents used to let one of my three brothers and i stay up an hour later than the rest once a week. We were all within a few years in age. That night, I was not the one, and was sent to bed at seven-thirty.

It was just before twilight. The sun sets later this time of year (of course). The way the bed faced, i could see outside through two large(4'x5') triple pane windows.

I was almost asleep when something drew my attention outside. I opened my eyes to see what appeared to be a very large yellow-orange disk hovering above the trees. It was hard to say how far away it was.

I stared at it. It made no noise, but again I was inside the house. The disk had two, relatively speaking, small bumps or turrets on the top and bottom.

The sunset was beginning to turn the sky a pale red, pink color. The next thing i remember, it was pitch black outside. The disk degraded to a small round white light.

At the time, i described it to my classmates as a 'headlight' (as in a car headlight). The headlight zipped away at tremendous speed, and was out of sight within seconds. What i have written here constitutes the majority of the actual experience.

Circular object with White around it and yellow in the middle. I lived on Bantam lake and I was down at the (Brunetto Grove) beach area with one of the neighborhood dogs (Rusty). All of a sudden this circular object showed up.

It was hoovering over the water about 6 feet from me. The size was 4 x 4 ft. The dog saw it because he was barking at it.

The outside of color was white and the inside was yellow. I started talking to it saying "hi" who are you and it said nothing just continued to hover. Then it started to bounce over the water, went up over the trees by point folly and zipped out of site.

I don't know what it was as it didn't make any noise and it was just bouncing. I do know that a few days later, their was a siting of a UFO in CT. I know what I saw and I will never explain it.

UFO sighting of a mother ship over our secluded country farm house. Me and my parents finished dinner. I looked out the picture window as i walked by.

I saw some lights coming over the hill . The house was a old farm house.It was a big house two story.

The yard went back ten acres to the woods.That went up over a hill.I saw a line of red and green lights coming in are direction.

There where five or six sets. They looked like flying police cars.As I think back I realise it was like close encounters.

They cleared the way for the most spectaculer thing i`ve ever seen. OK it was timed so that it got dark when the next event happened.My dad called me to the back door.

My mom and dad had just there heads out the door. When I looked out I saw that the whole sky had been blocked out.It was a clear summer night but you couldnt see the stars.

There was a round ship so big it must of been two hundred feet across or more.It was low not sure how low. No sound at all.

It was quite scary.Then a white light came out and shined on the tree under it.Strange light you could see every branch.

My dad went out first to stand under ufo.I ran out yelling get back in here.Well they heard me because eight huge lime green x`s lit up across the middle.

Mock wings I guess and a out of place tiny red light out on the edge.Then a faint sound started .It sounded like a bad tape of a single engine plane.

They thought we where dumb I guess.The rest gets scetchy.I remmember tooking straight up and seeing windows in the front.

About ten or so.I saw people looking out.I could not tell what they looked like.

The next thing I remmember we are all sitting in the living room watching TV like noting happened.In the next five years and prier to that night I saw at least 30 others.I have stories man.

I would see a lime green ovel shaped disk many many times.I even saw it land in Colchester CT.I have been changed by those events.

Nightime visitation in Connecticut-1973; this was a probable abduction. When I was seven years old I had a terrifying experience that I kept to myself for weeks and was unable to sleep at night and refused to go my bedroom at night. My parents had to let me fall asleep in the den with them and they would then carry me up to my room.

Upon finally talking to them about what was worrying me their reaction was almost as scary as the original event. When I spoke of this with them they turned ghostly pale and seemed very stressed- although my mother did manage to muster out that it must have been "just a dream." One night in the summer of'73, I woke to find two small grey beings standing in my bedroom looking at me.

(This was before any mention of, or description of, alien abductions had been put on T.V. or in the movies-to my knowledge at that time, anyway.

) The beings could not have been much taller than 4 feet, they had very large almond shaped black eyes, they were slender and their mouths were just slits. One of the beings walked towards me and spoke to me telepathically. I could not move and I was clearly very fearful.

I asked him if he was a Martian and he said, no, but you are right that we are from another planet. I don’t remember much that happened after that, but I do remember looking towards the hallway (my door was open and the hall light was on), and I saw my father being carried out by several of the small beings out of the hall and down into the stairwell. The only other memory of this event- which is slightly detached-is that I remember a different being, slightly larger but with the same large eyes, hovering over me, telling me that they wont hurt me and then forcing me to drink some white liquid that had the appearance of milk but had a horrible chemical taste.

During my subsequent years I think I chose to forget this traumatic experience. But one day when I was in my late teens I was walking past a bookstore and saw a display of Whitley Streiber’s book "Communion." When I saw that face on the cover of the book I went into a cold sweat and had a panic attack.

It took several months to get up the courage to purchase that book and read it. These memories then came back to me. I have not pursued hypnotherapy to reveal any further truths, simply because I really don’t think I want to know-not yet anyway.

this was a long time ago about 1974-1976 dont know. then i found this site and decided to report it the exact date was that day when walter cronkite reported on the news about ufo's and trips to eternity. i started wondering about it when later that night a big light just showed it self over head and stoped for a few seconds.

then continued on towards the n/e i think. the outer edges of it seemed to flicker like claws grabing the sky as it mooved. this was seen in greenwich ct.

i was to dame afrade to notice anything else. if any. what the hell are those things.

Hovering saucer seen during daylight by many witnesses In the summer of 1975 after dinner one evening I was watching TV with my brother. It was still light out, probably around 6-7pm. I heard a strange buzzing/whirring sound that started softly and became louder and I said to my brother “do you hear that?” He said “hear what?” As the sound diminished.

A few seconds later the sound came back much louder this time and I said “you can’t hear that?” He replied “now I do” and we looked at each other puzzled. I got off the couch and went and put my ear to the speaker on the TV set to hear if it was coming from there. It wasn’t.

It became apparent it was coming from behind where we were sitting from outside the window. I walked over to the window and to my surprise a saucer shaped object about 35 feet in diameter was hovering at tree top height over a field between two houses a few hundred feet outside of our window. We both watched in amazement as this saucer shaped craft hovered in front of us.

There seemed to be sec! tions of it that were rotating, some clockwise some counterclockwise and at different speeds. It was shiny grey metallic and had what appeared to be rows of colored lights. I was eleven at the time and the feeling of overwhelming excitement was hard to contain.

I had no negative feelings about it. In fact I found it to be a very positive experience. We were not scared.

It felt like the most magical experience of my life. Very positive. I ran to get my camera and my brother went to get my sister.

When we got back to the window half a minute later it was gone. We checked the local news paper when it came out the following Monday for other reports. Many people reported it to the police as could be seen in the police blotter, and later in the week a story came out about all the families who had seen it from a nearby school field while playing baseball.

Witnessing that at such an early age has had a huge impact on my ability to accept the concept that we are not at the apex of intelligence in the universe as many would like us to believe. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate. PD)).

A Summer Date in July 1979 Near Millstome Power Plant One evening during the summer of July 79 while on a date with my future husband we were driving the beach road in our home town. I noticed a round light over the Millstone Nuclear Power Plant. I was watching it while we drove.

I noticed that it appeared to be jumping around in the sky. I asked my then boyfriend to stop the car and look at it too. We parked the car and watched this round light jump all over the sky in a random pattern.

It would then hover and move again. We watched this for awhile and then though it would be fun to watch it from the swings at the beach. We drove to the beach watching it, parked the car and watched it.

Sat on the swings not moving and watched it. At one point we got scared because it moved move over the area we were sitting at and hovered. It was still far enough up in the sky to be round but it was larger at this point.

Then while we were watching it got very bright and zoomed over the ocean at a great speed. The light left a! tail that went away as fast at the light it self did. In a second it was gone.

We both remember this day exactly how it happened. It was the one and only time we every saw anything like this. I finally wanted to share this event after all this time.
