Long Trail of Orange Lights over Long Island/Connecticut While driving on CT15 near Hamden, CT, a string of orange lights was seen from south to north (Long Island Sound, disappearing overhead to the south of our position). Initially, 3-4 were seen in an area with routine jet traffic. They appeared to be converging to a formation.

My first thought was that they looked like afterburners from jets coming into formation. After watching for a few seconds, several more emerged from below the horizon to the south in a long trail. This continued for several minutes in a trail formation.

The objects were moving relative to each other, but primarily south to north. The angle of sight made it difficult to determine if they were level or climbing, but they seemed to disappear into the overcast. Local aviation weather reported overcast ceilings around 5000 feet at the time.

From my vantage, they looked either to be a very large formation of aircraft under afterburner or a large cluster of rockets. The orange lights were the only visible lights. No reports have been seen on news or social media of other observations.

This is unusual considering the recent reports of the Russian rocket re-entry in Nevada and the Trident launch off LA.

About a dozen separate red lights flying slowly east then veering north. About a dozen separate red lights with a smaller orange/dark yellow light on the port side. moving east from New Canaan area, then veering north over the Silvermine River.

Sometimes moving slowly or hovering, sometimes three of them forming a triangle shape. They were flying low though there was no discernible shape in the dark overcast sky, and there was no sound coming from them. I tried to get photos but could not get my camera to work even after switching batteries, and I know how to use my camera.

This was reminiscent of a UFO sighting that occurred about five years ago, also on Christmas night at about the same time. In the previous sighting about 12 craft, same description as above, flew in single file from the east then turned North over the river.

2 aircraft with center orange lights, followed by 5 similar aircraft. Just got home from Christmas day with the grandkids, went outside to smoke a butt, when I saw two aircraft with orange lights just below the cloud deck. No other Nav lights were visible, just a center orange light.

As they got close to flying over the house, the center lights were no longer visible. My wife had just come outside and I was calling her over to look at these RQ-180 shaped craft flying eastward. I could see their silhouette just below the clouds.

What was even more bizarre, they made no sound at all. As I was calling my wife to come see the first two aircraft, she called my attention to 5 more orange lights flying from west to east in a relatively close formation. The orange lights too extinguished as they approached the house.

Again, no sound what so ever. I was in the Air Force and have seen many aircraft takeoff (F-4's, B-52's) but these aircraft can't sneak out of town. F-4's are proof that if you put a big enough engine on an aircraft it can fly.

Westover AFB is to or north, and have seen F-15's and even Stealth fighters (at night) fly over, but again, these aircraft can't sneak out of town. From the direction they were coming from it would have put them in the flight path of civilian aircraft from Bradley Airport. Bright light in the sky very bright. It would dim out and get real bright and big again It's very dark and cloudy out I saw a star coming out the clouds but it got brighter and brighter then dim out.It did the same thing twice.

Oval shaped ball of light. I was driving home from work when I noticed a light in the sky. It looked kind of round in shape and was a solid light.

It appeared to not be moving at all and that is when I grabbed my cell phone and began recording. It is really hard for me to remember exactly how everything occurred because I was really in shock at what I was seeing. After I started recording I believe the craft started moving in one direction.

I tried keeping my phone on it while driving and right as it was going to be completely out of my view it shot straight up in the air and was gone. The craziest part of the whole thing is after I got home and watched the video multi times I noticed more lights really high in the sky that I had not noticed when I was driving. I have the video and am willing to submit it.

I noticed at the bottom of this page an email to send images. The video I have is too large to send. I'm not all that tech savy, if someone can help and explain how to send it I would gladly send the video.

Three lights seen in the western sky, appeared one after another. I was in my bedroom about to fall asleep when I looked out the window, and saw a pulsing orange/red light in the western sky. It hovered for a minute or two, and then began to slowly move north, and shot away.

A few minutes later, a similar light appeared in the exact same spot, like the first one, it hovered for a minute or two, and unlike the first one, it slowly moved to the south, and shot away. Then another few minutes later, another light appeared suddenly in the same spot the second one was last seen, eventually it shot away, and nothing was seen after that. During the sighting, there were some aircraft in the area, but none seemed to be trailing any of the lights.

Giant light falls from the sky. I was sitting on my front step in South Meriden at between 6:00pm and 6:15pm, facing north when I saw a large bright fireball shoot straight down out of the night sky. It looked like it may have landed near Meriden Square or the mountains near there.

My first thought was that it was a missle but there was no explosion. The sky was too hazy for me to have seen a meteorite from that distance. It was definitely too large to be a meteorite, and if it was we would have heard or felt it hit the ground.

Driving home on rte 8 n, to my right, at exit 25, saw bright white object, with bright white beam light shining towards ground.object was silent, and twice as high up then a helicopter would be. It seemed bigger too.

I kept glancing at it to see if it moved, but it just hovered. The next day, I read the Naugatuck Patch newspaper, and citizens reported an explosion noise. I wondered if the 2 were related? ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate.

White erratic flashing object enfield Ct Object seemed a bit large and not a perfect shape as it was moving fast so hard to tell. It moved in an erratic pattern like it was jumping. It was bright white and flashed in a clear bright cloudless blue sky.

It would disappear then flash again several times and then it just disappeared for good. Definitely not a plane. I could see this from interstate 91 south near the shopping mall.

Yellow streak falls into structure for split second corroborated by myself and another witness in vehicle, we watched for a split second a dense yellow streak fall towards an onlooking building. Large in size and disappeared into the building structure.

Airplane-shaped object with wings outlined in lights I happened to look in the sky tonight and saw what looked like an airplane, but the wings looked to be very much "up front" on the plane, and they were outlined in lights. Which made the plane look somewhat like a boomarang. It circled and while I was following it, I noticed another "plane" of the same type.

That one seemed to be just sitting there, perhaps what they'd call "hovering". I wasn't able to stay outside longer, I do not know what became of these crafts.

In a triangle and was very low and moving very fast. It was in a triangle like a stealth craft and it was vey low and moving very fast. I turn my head for a second and its on the other side of where it was before.

Moving Groups of Light over Manchester, Connecticut. To Whom It May Concern, For the last five days, November 13, 2015 – November 18, 2015, my father and I have been observing several pairs and trios of lights moving in the night sky over Manchester, Connecticut, USA. They move in all directions without any visible signs of turning, and the behavior is unlike that of an Airliner or meteorite entering the atmosphere.

The points of light appear to move in unison, with one brighter point always leading a dimmer tail end. We've watched them for between 10 – 60 minutes, and have used a telescope during several of these viewings, just to be absolutely positive, the first night we chased one across the sky with the telescope, as it wouldn't stay still. During a couple of these viewings, we could clearly see lights alternating between blue and red, which initially lead me to believe these were airplanes, but with further observation I noticed they did not in fact behave at all like any jet I've seen, moving in any direction at will, as I've said before, seemingly without turning.

Just tonight we observed three of these pairs/trios as of 1:50 am, and on 11/15/2015 we witnessed no less than five. We plan to continue these observations, hopefully with the aid of a video camera for further proof.

I was watching the star it was a clear night never saw so many star when I noticed a group of 3 stars moving I wached for about 5 minutes waiting for them to fade like a shooting star but they did not the stayed the same distance from each other watched for about 15 minutes before I went back inside they were to high to b a plane and shooting stars don't stay the smell distance apart and travel the same speed.

Slightly oval bright white light about the size of a full moon traveling at an extremely high rate of speed. Happened very quickly. I walked out of my house around 1:15 am and looked up and seen a bright white light which was slightly oval traveling at an extremely high rate of speed.

It seemed to be relatively low, I honestly cannot determine the exact elevation because it happened so quickly. It headed in a south west direction. My first rational thought was a shooting star (I have seen hundreds of shooting stars/meteorites before), but this was about the size of a full moon in the sky and left no trail behind it.

I have never seen anything like it before and would love to know the explanation.

Strange light high in the sky over the water several times a week. I live at one of the highest points in West Haven so I have a clear view of the coast for many miles. For several months I have noticed a strange light high in the sky (at least once or twice a week and sometimes more often) that seems to be over the water.

It’s a very bright flickering light that looks diamond shaped sometimes and triangular in shape other times. I’m not sure what town it’s actually over but I assume it might be New Haven but could be as far away as Branford or even Guilford. I usually see it between 2am and 4am and it’s usually out there for at least 1 hour before disappearing.

It’s always high in the sky and does not move for that particular night, however every night that I see it, it’s not always in the same location that it was the prior night when seen. For the past 2 nights there were 2 of these lights out there not far from each other. I’m really not sure what these lights are but there is something out there and just wanted to report it.

Driving south on 91. Bright light in the distance. As we got closer saw it wasn't moving.

Got a good look, almost under it. October 25 2015--~1am Driving south on interstate 91. Had just merged on to 91 from route 3 in Wethersfield.

Saw a bright white light in the distance off to our left. Pointed it out to the 3 girls in the car with me. As we got closer (still a bit away), thought it was a circle as we saw the lights around the outside.

The closer we got, could see it very clearly---I thought it was a triangle shape but with a blunted front. Bright white light in the center and lights around the outside perimeter. Girls had more time to look (I was driving) they said full triangle.

It was hovering in the same spot the entire time, looked to be over Wethersfield around exit 24. Entire sighting was probably only about 30-40 seconds. From the time we got on 91 at exit 25, until we passed it around exit 24.
