Strange craft appeared in sky , then zoomed away I was walking in my basement one night and looked out of my sliding glass door. There was a strange shape out right over the trees , I estimate 300 yards away.It was a fat teardrop , sort of like the craft from independance day (I saw that movie 4 months AFTER the sighting).
I thought it was a helicopter at first , then opened the door and heard nothing.I had seen helicopters from that distance before and heard them , loud and clear , so I knew it was either a silent , new helicopter ,or an alien space craft. Then a blue aurora surrounded the object and 2 white lights turned on , on the sides of the craft.
Then it shot off on a very odd , diagnol angle, at an INCREDIBLE speed.

I was walking in my basement and I looked outside. About 300 yards away hovering right over the trees in my back yard was a strange shape. it was a FAT tear drop , kind of like the space craft in independance day (I saw the movie 4 months LATER)It hovered for a while and I thought it was a helicopter at first , but I opened the door and I heard nothing.
I have seen ALOT of helicopters even farther away and heard them.So I knew it was either a new , silent helicopter , or a UFO.Then , things started getting wierd , a strange blue aurora surrounded it and 2 lights , one red and one green , they went from opposite sides and hit each other , probably an antimatter reaction, then it sent out a beam and went into an orb formed by it.
Finally it sped off in the orb so fast and at such a strange angle I was mezmorized. ((NUFORC Note: Witness would have been in the second grade at the time of the sighting. PD)).

Caller, who had reported sighting from Greenwich, CT, on 16NO96, called the NUFORC to apprise us that the news in New York were reporting the incident involving a Pakistani and TWA airliners. He said he thought it to be the case that the TWA airliner had requested clearance to return to the airport for landing after its crew had witnessed the object that streaked by the Pakistani airliner.

Two men driving from Greenwich, CT, to New York City suddenly witness a yellow-orange ball of light streak across the cloudless sky. The impression of the caller was that the object had lights on it, and it was flying horizontally, parallel to the horizon, and not very high above the horizontal plane. Object was VERY fast, vastly faster than a fighter jet would fly.
Also, object was VERY bright. The object left a distinct trail behind it, which dissipated rather quickly. Viewer felt the object almost certainly was not a meteorite.
It maintained the same shape, same brightness throughout the sighting. At first, he thought the object was a crashing aircraft. No report on the radio stations.
He has never made a UFO report before.

SUMMARY: Two large lights were seen high in the sky. The objects swung around, changing position with one another, then the top object vanished. The other remained visible as we traveled forabout 20 miles.
I was driving, and my friend ((name delted)) was a passenger. We were on Route 8, on our way from Naugatuck, CT to Norwalk, CT. About 1/3 of the way to Norwalk, in Derby, I spotted two large, bright lights in the sky, and pointed them out to ((name deleted)).
The lights were larger than a visible planet would appear; the closest description I can give as to size was that they were similar in size to street lights viewed from a car, only they were clearly very high in the sky, so the actual size of the objects had to be enormous. We watched the objects, which were hovering in place, the one on the left a little higher than the one on the right. Suddenly, the objects moved, rotating around one another (top to bottom) to switch places with one another.
Then, the one which had moved to the top winked out, just vanished. There was a faint trail leading upward where that one had been, but it disappeared quickly. I drove another few exits to Shelton, CT, where we got off of the highway onto Bridgeport Avenue.
We stopped at a car dealership which had a clear view of that part of the sky (I'd say, south, maybe south east part of the sky--I'd have to look at a map to be more specific--we were driving generally south at the time). We got out of the Jeep and stood in the lot, watching the remaining light. It kept its position.
After a few minutes, we got back into the Jeep, and I continued to drive to Norwalk. We watched the light all the way to Norwalk; it remained the in the same part of the sky the entire way (probably for a total of 20 miles or so), so it had to be pretty high up. When I dropped ((name deleted)) off at her home, I had one more look at the object by a running track near her house, then I headed home (driving north, so I could no longer see it in front of me).
I couldn't see the part of the sky where it was when I got home, so I just went inside. The lights were pale yellow or white-ish in color. I thought they seemed round, but ((name deleted)) said at the time (and has maintained) that they seemed triangular to her.
They were definitely not airplanes (we saw plenty of planes in the sky that night--no comparison). They also didn't behave like planes. I'm 29 years old, female, married, a webmaster/graphic designer by profession.
I've never seen any unusual phenomena in the sky before, and have always been skeptical about the whole UFO thing. While these lights may not be alien in nature, I certainly can't explain them (if you figure out what they were, please let me know!) I don't know ((name deleted)) age (mid to late 40s perhaps). She is currently attending college full time to get her masters in painting, and I believe a certificate to teach (or something of that nature).
If I can give you any further specifics, please contact me.

A perfect square object, enormous in size, slow in movement with no visible signs of propulsion. It was a summer afternoon and my father and myself were washing our car's in the driveway. The cloud cover was very sporadic or mostly clear blue skies.
I stopped washing the car to go get us something to drink in the house. While walking up the path to the front door a silver glint caught the corner of my right eye, turning my head and looking up and to the right I saw what I had previously thought impossible. In the distance at if I lifted my right arm from waist to object would be two o'clock I saw an absolutely enormous silver cube or box! It looked to be a perfect rectangle and the sun reflected off it giving it a stainless steel appearance.
There seemed to be orange and red circular lights aglow on its surface and it rotated slowly clockwise and drifted further away and at great height until foliage completely blocked my view. My father also saw it and was as stunned as I was to see a flying box that formed a perfect rectangle with no sign's of propuls! ion but what created even more awe was the sheer size of this object! As far as it drifted away its size was still amazing! ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate. PD)).

it was a cool evening when i walked out on to the balcony. i always loved looking up at the sky at night. on this particular night i focused in on area as my eyes began to adjust in this one area i saw this light it appeared to be round white in color if you will.
well it kind of looked like a star but it wasnt how do i know? well it was making sharp angular movements it would move from 3 o'clock position to 10 o'clock position then 12 o'clock and so on. i did not believe what i was seeing so i walked inside and rubbed my eyes and went back out and it was still there. this went on for about 5 min.
then i went inside. first i thought it was a sattelite i see them all the time and they move in one direction at a very fast rate of speed but not as fast as this sighting. i never disclaimed anybody who saw a ufo but i had to have proof that night was proof.
((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous. PD)).

HUGE rectangular object over downtown Waterbury in 1996/1997 I was leaving an evening class at an area high school when I noticed what I thought was an airplane at first off in the distance over some homes. I was walking to my car across a parking lot and it get getting bigger as it came closer. By the time I got to my car, it was across the street over some houses and I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
It was big then with "windows" and lights along the sides (blue, white, green, red). The lights blinked in a type of sequence. I continued to get into my car and drive home, taking a left out of the parking lot and heading to a stop light where I just stared and couldn't take my eyes off of it.
It was on my right side at this point, so I couldn't see much of it because it was so huge. I drove down the street to get on the highwayand it was on my left side now. It looked like a building laying on it's side.
I drove to my mom's home to get my kids so fast that night that I don't even remember getting there. I told her, but she thought I was crazy. I didn't sleep for a long time after that.
I never heard of anyone seeing it over the city and I can't understand how nobody else saw it. It was huge. I really just want to know if there is anyone that may have seen it too.
I never heard any sounds coming from it either.

email message text : June 27th, 1996.Route 81, Clinton, CT. time: 3:37am I saw 4 white objects, moving in a strange manner.
The first 2 I spotted were to SE, near long island sound. They were zigzagging back and forth, in a N to S and S to N direction. The other 2 objects, which at first I thought to be shooting stars, intersected each other in flight.
One traveling N to S and the other intersecting its path from W to E.

Unknown object appeared in photograph, was not noticed at the time photo was taken,Curious? Resending.I do not know the exact date this happened, it was a sunday in April, I am not sure of the year but I did include coinciding events. The reason I put question marks in the initial entries above is basically the event occurred 'after the fact'.
This event occurred around the time of the last comet event, I think it was Hale-Bopp, as another reference, it was around the same time as the mass Killing at the weirdo cult place where they all mutilated themselves. I was taking a photo of a new antenna that had just been installed around 1 to 2 o'clock in the afternoon. After the developement of the film is when the object was noticed.
The conditions that day were partly cloudy and breezy with moderate temperatures.I had set up my tripod to take the photo and had aimed the camera at the antenna. I did not look up at the time I took the picture.
I still have the negative. The object does appear on the photo in the second photo as a shadowy image against a blue sky. I am sending a scanned copy of the 2 photos that I did take just seconds apart, the difference in the clouds locations when compaired should verify that.
If you would like actual prints, you could probably verify the time the photos were developed by the numbers on back of the actual copies. The film used was a 35 mm. These were developed thruogh a Wal-Mart located in Groton, Ct.
((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. Sundays of April 1996 fell on April 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th, I believe. PD)).

Police officer was having coffee and witnessed a "meteor" pass overhead. Suddenly, and to the caller's immense surprise, it separated into three distinct objects. He called his partner's attention to it just as two of the lights approached one another again.
Then, the two streaked off, and the third followed the first two.

On back to back nights, as a teenager hanging out with my friends we all witnessed strange activity in the sky over Wethersfield. Walking up Nott Street on approx. The night of the 15th something with an unusual light pattern flew over head very quickly and we all thought it very odd.
The following night my friend Tony and I both witnessed a bright blue glowing circle in the sky that was there for about 15 seconds and disappeared quicker than we could look at each other and exclaim, "Did you see that?". I found this page and remembered this experience. When I looked and saw another spotting in Wethersfield at that time I had to share this story.

Two F-15's or F-16's, couldn't tell the engine complement, followed a silver object over Wethersfield from South to North (toward Hartford). I called NWS to ask about the possibility of WX balloons, but the meteoroligist I talked to said: a.
they don't use them in that area anymore (his claim) b.he couldn't see why fighters would follow c.he felt it was interesting; he volunteered this The date on this is VERY approximate ! The year and month are correct.
