Connecticut UFO Sightings in 1969

i think the year was 1969 and im possitive it was in the winter because i was slideing down our driveway. i have been trying to find information about what i saw for years and i hope you can help me. it was around 7:00 pm on a cold winter night,i think it was 1969.

anyways i was walking up my driveway to slide one more time.i looked up and watched a fireball the size of our house pass in front of me .we live on a hill so i was able to watch it follow the earths curve.

im possitive it was going north .the next morning i didnt here anything on the news about it and no one in our house believed me.do you or anyone have any information on this .

i was 9 or 10 years old and i was slideing down my driveway as i got up from my sled and started to walk back up the driveway a fireball the size of the house flew over heading north . i remember it well because of its size . fire was all around it and i compareed the size to a large cape.

NO NOISE, NO AIR MOVEMENT, NO HEAT, LIGHTS UNDERSIDE, HOVERED, OLDER SISTER (7 YEARS OLDER) WAS RETURNING HOME LATE IN EVENING, CAME INSIDE SAID "COME SEE THIS LIGHT" MY FATHER AND MYSELF WERE THE ONLY ONES AWAKE AT THAT TIME. WE WENT OUT, STOOD UNDER A BIG MAPLE TREE (ALL THREE OF US) AND LOOKED UP. JUST ABOVE THE TREE TOPS NEXT TO THE TWO LANE ROAD WAS WHAT APPEARED TO BE A ROUND OBJECT WITH COLORED LIGHT GOING AROUND THE BOTTOM.

WE JUST STOOD THERE FROZEN (DUMFOUNDED). THE CRAFT HOVERED THERE FOR ABOUT A MINUTE OR TWO. WE LIVE NEXT TO A CEMETERY, VERY RURAL, WITH FARM LAND ALL AROUND.

WHEN THE CRAFT LEFT IT JUST WENT RAPIDLY, QUIETLY. ONCE IN THE HOUSE WE NEVER MENTION WHAT WE HAD WITNESSED. IN 1991 OR 1992 I ASKED MY SISTER IF SHE REMEMBER THAT NIGHT, SHE DID, I WAS 14 YEARS OLD ALMOST TURNING 15 AS MY BIRTHDAY WAS IN NOVEMBER.

MY FATHER DIED IN 1971 (HE WAS 51) I WAS 16. THERE WAS NO SECOND GUESSING WHAT WE HAD SEEN. THE CRAFT WAS SUSPENED FOR OUR AMAZEMENT OR THEIRS.

REALLY ONLY SEEN THE BOTTOM AS THE TREE BLOCK! ED THE VEIW. SIZE IS ABOUT 25-30 FEET ARCOSS. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate.

UFO explosion and sighting I have wanted to share this experience for years because I have wished we investigated it more at the time, but we did nothing. At one time, my family had twenty-five acres of very high land in Connecticut. Behind the house, separated by some distance, was a pool with a screened in porch.

Beyond that, a very large, open meadow surrounded by woods.At thirteen, I was sitting in the screened-in porch with my younger cousins. They faced the house behind me, I faced the open meadow and woods.

It was toward the end of the day, but still light out. It was then that I noticed two objects moving very slowly,traveling right to left, up above the tree line that skirted the large meadow. One was following the other.

Moving slowly and silently. Then the strangest thing happened.The first traveling object just exploded.

There was no reason for it. It just happened. It was a silent explosion.

It just exploded into white and yellow burning light and its pieces just seemed to disintegrated as they fell. It didn't fall as a single large structure.It just broke up into chunks and each chunk- large to small burned up.

There seemed to be some smoke around each piece or chunk as it burned, but no huge plumes.It just burned up and I saw little of it trail to the ground. It happened very fast.

The strangest thing was that the disc traveling not far behind it was completely unaltered by all of this. It just kept traveling its course as if nothing had happened. Amazed, I ran inside to get the adults of which about five hurried outside with me.

There we saw the surviving disc still making its way silently, slowly over the tree line until it suddenly,very abuptly, dove down sideways into the woods between two large trees. The only thing I could think of that could be of any interest there is that this is the location of a very deep, small pool of water left over from an old quarry.Yet, the disc seemed to almost instantly shoot straight back up.

Changing its direction to come over the meadow and straight toward us! It went directly over our heads not any higher up than a large tree. I actually stood under it as it passed. The sun was setting in the distant valley below us, but it was still twilight with plenty of light to see.

It was classic disc shape, flat bottom smallish hub on top- unified color. I seem to remember the texture of panels, but not sure. Over head it was a darkened metal color - yet as it traveled off into the valley below us and the setting sunlight hit it, I noticed it was shinning silver.

When it went over my head I felt no fear, I think because there was no sound. It seemed surreal. I would say robotic! I felt no wind, no rush of air nothing.

We all silently watched it sail off into the valley below us like one would watch a hot air balloon, totally unalarmed. All my aunt said was that it was a UFO and that she recently had been coming back on the New Jersey Highway with my Uncle when about thirteen UfOs appeared traveling down the road. She said people just got out of their cars and stared at them.

We thought it was neat we got to see them. We didn't feel scared or threatened or that we had to call someone.I remain unfrighten by them.

I feel they've been around for so long that if they wanted to have ended us, they would have done so long ago.I feel I am luck to know something personally about the world others have to still guess about.Yet, now I am left with intense curiosity.

How did the craft and explosion emitt no sound? Why did the other disc following behind the first just keep going and remain unaltered? Why did it shoot so quickly into the woods? And most of all, why did it chose to come right over us. Did it want to see us too? I don't know, but I hope I get to see another UFO in my life time it was great! ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. Summary : My friend and I were riding bicycles. I looked straight up and obserevd a UFO 100 ft.above us.

It was about 30 ft. in dia. It was covered with multi colored flames.

Like as if it was red hot and burning off exotic gases. It was moving west at about 30 MPH. IT was silent.

We lost sight as trees blocked our view. My friends uncle also witnessed this and ran into his house in fright.

Translocation and "knowing" I could fly onto elevated deck. One early morning in either 1968 or 1969, when I was about seven years old, I woke up at about 6 o'clock in a different location. I was on the couch downstairs in the living room, covered up with a blanket that my mother always kept there.

Thinking my parents had decided to paint our bedroom, and had therefore moved me and my brother in our sleep, I curiously went back upstairs, and found my brother sleeping away in his own bed. My bed had obviously been slept in part of the night, and the room was unpainted. I had never sleep-walked before then, nor have I ever done so since then.

I determined to get to the bottom of this mystery, so I made a point to "interview" each of my four older sisters, to see which one of them had played this trick on me. None ever admitted to such a prank. At about the same time, I have another memory which in retrospect may be related to the couch incident.

I remember being outside in the backyard, looking up at our deck, which was built directly off the living room, and "knowing" that I could fly onto and off of, that deck. It was more than a simple wish -- it was a conviction. The deck was some seven or eight feet off the ground, which sloped away from the back of the house.

So adamant was I of my conviction, that I got a piece of rope (old clothesline, I think), tied it onto a kitchen chair, and wedged that chair into one corner of the deck. Don't ask me why I did it this way, but that's the way I did it. Once this was done, I slid down the rope to the ground, burning my hands in the process.

I had never heard of a flying saucer or UFO at this time, much less the apparent abduction phenomenon. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. PD)).
