Fast moving bright light observed over Branford Ct 12/7/2005 I was looking up in the sky around 6:30 pm on December 7th 2005 in Branford Ct. I saw a bright light cross the sky. It was not consistant with any shooting star I have ever seen.
It seemed much closer, near where planes would normally fly. The shape was round and the size was much wider than traditional aircraft. What struck me as odd was the speed it traveled and the fact that it made no sound.
It lasted for what I could see was about 2-3 seconds than went out of sight. I have seen a meteor burn in earths atmosphere which gives off a green glow. This was pure white light.
It was near the Branford airport, however the planes that I saw in the distance before and especially after the event seemed to be moving in slow motion in comparison.

It is an extremely bright blueish white light. Looks like a very big star, It seems to stay perfectly still at times, however we have seen it sway to the right and left very slowly, and raise up and down in the same fashion. I am at a mountain top almost, and this is what I see approximately to my Southeast.
As it moved slowly, I saw one light ( an out of this world orange appear on its other side.) It slowly moved away, and out of sight, below the horizon.

Green light travelling at extreme speed over Groton, CT I was driving east on I-95 by Waterford/New London, CT. In front of me I saw a bright green light in the sky, as it appeared, hoovering over Groton, CT on the far side of the Thames river, north of I-95, a couple of miles ahead of us. The light wasn't very high from the ground, as it appeared not too far from the tree line sillouette.
The light was bigger than I could associate with any aircraft, so I told my wife to watch it too. As I told her this, the green light started to move, as it appeared, in an eastern direction, parallell to I-95. Suddenly the the light seemed to accelerate to extreme speed as it quickly vanished towards the east.
This is when I realized I have witnessed something extraordinary. My wife failed to notice the object, so I was left with my own experience, which lasted no more than a couple of seconds.

Fast moving bright light that instantly disappeared with a trace. I will state my background first- I am a computer programmer with a relatively high IQ. I am an active Private Pilot.
I live almost directly under the Madison, CT VOR navigation station. Nightly, I watch helicopters, small planes, and airliners fly above my house. All aircraft are required to have operating navigation lights, and anti-collision lights.
I can generally classify aircraft based on relative velocity, and the type of engine. In the 40 degree weather we are having, even turbofan engines at 35,000 are clearly audible. The navigation lights are always visible, and at most angles, the anti-collison "strobe" can be seen.
There is no weather currently, and all stars and planets are extremely clear. Tonight, as I stood on my deck, I witnessed an "aircraft" with only 1 VERY bright light that was moving quickly enough that the alitude would have to have been VERY low, or the velocity was extremely high. This caught my attention.
It traced a path above my house in only a few seconds, when an airliner can take a minute. The light distinguished ((sic--extinguished??)), and I waited for the engine noise, only none came- just total silence. I could not see the shape, only a bright light.
There was no further sign of it. It was visible for a few seconds as it appeared to come from over the horizon to about 70 degrees vertical above my house. I was facing easterly, so the path was roughly south to north.
The light was far, far brighter than the landing lights, anti-collision lights, or navigation lights on any aircraft I have ever seen. I have witnessed dozens of "shooting stars" over my house as recently as the shower this summer, and it did not, in any way resemble the intensity, path, or time that a meteor has. The light extinguished instantly as if it was turned off, and did not appear to burn out as a meteor does.
I don't know what else to say- I am baffled enough to write this. I hope someone else in Connecticut saw this event and may shed some light on it. ((NUFORC Note: The ISS was not visible from Guilford on this date, at this time.
We do not know what the witness observed. PD)).

Orange lights form triangular patterns and move and rotate in unicen After my brother had reported seeing strange orange flickering lights in the sky performing maneuvers that defy our laws of physics and gravity, I, along with some friends of mine and my father and uncle drove up to the restaurant that my brother works at. This is where the sightings took place, and apparently have been taking place for several weeks now. While standing on a large hill overlooking a wide open golf course, we witnessed at least 3 at any given time, orange bright lights that almost looked like planets, that twinkled at times and flickered erratically at other times.
The lights would rise up slowly from the horizon, and then the light would go out and be replaced by a fast blinking red and white light. At first we thought of an airplane, but then when the lights began moving from side to side up and down and in zig zag patterns, we knew that any aircraft in existance could not perform manuevers like we witnessed. We also witnessed the 3 lights forming triangular patterns (perfect ones i might add) and this triangle moved in unicen and at times seemed to rotate on an axis.
We also saw an unbelievably bright blue streak that almost looked like a commet streaking through the atmosphere but the width of the two "tales" was too wide to be a commet. Between the tales were blue streaks and it moved very quickly over our heads and disappeared without a sound. We have been coming to this location almost every night and it seems as if the activity continues, but the lights get farther and farther away each time.
When my brother initially spotted these lights they were the size of a silver dollar in the sky, but have since become slightly bigger than a star and orange in color. The objects can be seen only in a wide open area that is at a high altitude along route 63 in litchfield ct. Objects seem to rise and fall below horizon line so its important to view the skyline from as high as possible.

strange lights in sky my nephew works in litchfield ct he has been telling us about these strange lights in the sky at night so last night we decided to go with him to see what its all about when we got there we saw several lights in the sky ! moving back and forth zig zagging lights changing colors as they fly making formations (triangle)all with no sound they seem to come right out of the horizon over the trees then we would watch how fast they move across the sky with a blue streak behind them ! the blue streak happened last night and the night before (my nephew was there the night before with other friends)it was freezing last night so we only stayed an hour ! the neat thing is how they change colors from red to white these are not airplanes or jets at times there are 6 or more flying near each other moving up and down left to right etc! the funny thing is they almost look like stars to most people but if you stop and watch the sky you can see all this activity very strange also i want to add it was a crystal clear night sky last night!.

Steady blinking 3 color lights As I and my mother were standing outside my apartment. I could not help but notice a steady blinking light in the sky to my west. The light would change in color from , white, red, and blue.
I pointed it out to my mother and we watched it for about 15 minutes before going inside because it never moved. It was not a plane because we watched as the planes flew pass the unknown light object. It was a very clear night and I went out again tonight around 7:30pm EST and looked in the same direction and the light is still there blinking and not moving just as it was the night before.

Twinkling multi-colored light in the South Eastern sky of Stratford, CT sky at around 3:00am. Lasted for over 2 hours, hovering. For the last couple of nights I have been inexplicably waking up around 3:00 am.
Early this morning was no exception, but upon waking, I noticed out my window what I thought was a very bright star. After staring at it for a couple minutes I thought it strange that it was extremely bright and colorful. I noticed it blinking or twinkling quite a bit and changing from red, blue and white.
I got out of bed to investigate because I also noticed that it didn't move at all. It was quite high, higher than any helicopter. Take note - we live a few miles away from Sikorsky Aircraft so I know helicopters; we see them all the time, along with jet aircraft which land and take off at Tweed and Bridgeport Airports.
The next thought that crossed my mind was that it may be a satelite or even the space station. But the object was stationary at all times and remained nearby another star, which I was using as a reference for distance. I woke up my wife (who was none too pleased) and after discounting all the previously mentioned possibilities, she agreed that it was something we have never seen before.
We both went outside and with my binoculars, tried to get a closer view of the object. Even then, it was still too far away to discern any particular shape, but we could clearly see it changing colors. Also of interest is that for the two hours that we continuously observed this object it remained stationery and within the same cluster of stars, moving along with the group as the earth rotated.
We saw this in the South Eastern sky without a single cloud around.

Strange hovering lights over Orange/Derby CT While driving on RT 34 from Orange CT to Derby my girlfriend and I notice what appeared to be a low flying plane over the tree line. The craft was over a residential area just on the border of a farm/Field. I notice that the plan must have been coming directly toward us since it did not appear to be moving.
As we got closer to the object I told my girlfriend that it was not moving. She laughed and a moment later said "Oh my God, it's not moving. I started to get closer and closer to the object.
At my closest point I was across the street slowed down to about 15 mph. The craft seemed to be maybe 500 to 1000 feet over the tree line. It was hard to tell since it was dark, and since I could not see the body of the craft I had no frame of reference.
As we got closer to the craft I put my window down and was amazed that I didn't hear a sound for such a low flying object. The craft appeared to be just staying in place. It was three lights directly across from one anther and what possible appeared to be a faint light in the back forming a "T".
The back light was so dim I'm not sure I even saw it. Now to me this seems to be the standard shape of a plane. Under any normal situation I would pass it off as such, but the lack of movement almost made it eerie.
Since it is a busy street I had to keep moving. I got to the next light less than a quarter mile and way and did a U-Turn. When I got back to the area there was nothing.
This was a strange event but at the same time very exciting. I'm a big time skeptic but this I had trouble explaining. I was hoping I was not the only one that saw it.
I will check the local paper in the morning to see if there is any news on the event.

enormous linear ufo New preston CT While camping at lake Waramaug State Park in New Preston, CT I went to the lakeside with my girlfriend around 9:30pm to look at the stars and relax. I saw a strange (at least to me) perfectly horizontal shooting star, pretty big. Then, about 5 minutes later, my girlfriend tells me to look up and asks me if I can see what she's seeing.
I don't at first, but she uses a flashlight and points right at it. It looked EXACTLY like two stars, very far apart, moving in tandem slowly and methodically across the sky. We watched this thing for close to 2 minutes before it literally vanished - not over the horizon or out of our field of vision.
It just disappeared. This thing had to have been huge. It would not be exagerrating to estimate at least 400 feet in length.
One light at the front, one at the back. No pulsing, no flashing. Totally and completely silent and very high up, or at least it was disguised to look as if it was.
If we hadn't been scanning the sky, we never would have seen it. It looked EXACTLY like two big and bright stars, very far apart only moving together through the sky, obvious to anyone who saw it that they were part of one enormous craft of some kind. It really looked as if it was using some sort of cloaking device or disguise - I knwo that sounds crazy, but you had to see it - it was obviously trying NOT to be seen.
As a soldier in the bush wears camouflage and greasepaint to blend in with the jungle. that's what it made me think of. I've seen quite a few UFO's and such in my life, but this was without a doubt one of the most indisputable sightings I've ever had.
No question that it was up there. No question that it was NOT an airplane, a weather balloon, a meteor, shooting star, bird or swamp gas. And no question that it was gigantic, silent and on a controlled course.
Totally amazing.

Light moon shine glow woods Old Farms swamp. These dates may not be approximate. I believe on the evening of June 15 2005 around midnight I awoke from sleeping to the view of bright “ moon shine” coming from the woods into the basement window.
I may have checked the sliding door to make sure it was locked, I may have been sleepwalking. I may have hit myself to make sure I was awake. I can’t say that I went into the woods behind our house to investigate, though I remember complaining about two small “bug-bites” on my stomachs side (I think this is were it was) to my sister.
Beyond this I can not determine events real or imagination. The entire event was very hazy and surreal, though I believe I checked to make sure I was really awake and not in a vivid dream. I do remember a dream I had previously of a space ship in the woods around the time of November 10 1997, date not approximate.
This spaceship was in the mountain passages in the Old Farms area. This I was sure was a dream though. This moon like glow occurred near the Old Farms swamp area.
I do not know if these two subjects are related at all beyond the same area where I experienced them. I think the spaceship dream was related to science fiction media. It was a very white light that seemed to be glowing from the woods towards the house, and nothing more that I can determine.
These events all occurred near Old Farms swamp in Simsbury CT. ((NUFORC Note: Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD)).

Two Jupiters!!! I just saw this minutes ago. I went out on my porch to have a cigarette. I looked up at Jupiter.
I am very familiar with the night sky as I have enjoyed amateur astronomy all my life. I own a nice telescope and have been observing Jupiter and Saturn within the last week. As I looked up to see Jupiter I was very surprised.
There were two of them! This really threw me and confused me. The reason I say there were two Jupiters is that both objects looked identical in magnitude, size and even color. Jupiter is a yellowish-white to the eye.
I knew one of these objects could not be Jupiter, so I watched carefully for movement. I did not see any movement or seperation whatsoever. Both objects were completely still in the sky.
I noticed that the northern-most object had a fainter star-like object very close by. So I was utterly confused. I did not know what this second object was.
I stared at both for about 15 seconds (I wasn't sure which was the real Jupiter). Then I noticed that the one to the north started to dim out as did it's companion. The sky is clear tonight, no clouds at all, very good visibility.
This object was about 5 degrees or a fist held at arms length north of Jupiter. It took about 15 seconds to dim. I could still see this object as a very faint star-like object for about another 15-20 seconds.
Then I could see it no more. I watched for several minutes but did not see this object again. I came right in to make this report.
I don't know what this object was but it did not move at all the entire time I observed it. I am very familiar with aircraft and satellites. It did not make any sound whatsoever.
There were no clouds. I could still see all surrounding stars the entire time.

Triangle, 3 lights, silent and slow. Low altitude. 1 row of lights observed, hovering approximately 200 feet from the ground.
While crossing it's path, the middle light began to move, which is when I discovered what I was viewing was far out of Helicopter dimensions. I pulled off of the highway, and doubled back, as the object silently and slowly moved over the horizon. It did not make a sound.
White lights were on each vertice, the triangle was horizontally aligned. The lights pulsated slowly, and slightly.

An oblong oval craft, larger than blimp, with a streak of colored lights about the length of a footbal field making huge rumbling noise The object flew directly over our house and my parents house down the road at tree line level (extremely low). It was a massive craft, oblong and oval in shape, bigger than a blimp. It made a huge constant loud rumbling noise as it passed by slowly.
The lights were amazing. A white and green dot on top with a long streak of lights along what looked to be the bottom or side. The long streak had to be close to 100 yards in length and the streaks changed color periodically from white to red and to blue.
I did capture on video, the craft with the noise over our house, but the video does not do it justice. Also as the craft moved overhead, every sensor light we have around our house went off an continued to for about 1/2 hour afterwards.

two objects moving slowly in a clear night sky---one had a white semi-circle of lights that appeared to strobe I was traveling east on rte. 101, on the evening of April 4, 2005. I was going from Pomfret to Dayville, CT.
At approximately 10:45 p.m., I noticed an extremely bright white light in the northest sky.
This white light had a small red light on the left, and a small green light on the right. None of the lights were blinking. This object appeared to be maybe 2,000 feet in the sky, and it was moving very slowly in a southerly direction.
I watched it for about 5 minutes. At this time, the white light, which was much brighter that anything else in the sky on this clear evening, faded out. The two colored lights remained lit, and the object continued to move in a southerly direction.
At this time, I saw another object pass under it by a few hundred feet. This second object had a series of smaller, duller white lights which formed a semi-circle and strobed. The first object's remaining lights went out at this point.
I continued traveling east on rte. 101 for another 5 minutes, still observing the second object, which was moving in a northeasterly direction rather slowly. I observed this object for a total of 10 minutes, at which time it disappeared behind a treeline.
