Stationary large bright yellowish light with orange flickering lights. Lights in a triangle pattern. My boyfreind and I were heading to my father's house where I grew up to celebrate the holidays.
We were traveling south on Mt. Philo Road in Charlotte when he noticed a large bright yellowish light in the sky to the right of Mt. Philo.
He asked me what I thought it was. I wasn't sure, I told him it might be a planet rising and we would have to ask my father if there were any rising at this time of year. He asked me if it was some kind of radio tower or something of that nature.
It seemed too high in the sky to be a tower like that, and too bright. We began to descend a large hill where the road heads toward the Mt. Philo state park when my boyfreind noticed a very small and dim blue light to left bright one.
At this point he mentioned that he thought it may be a helicopter when all of a sudden the bright yellowish light dimmed out and between where it had been and the dim blue one was, three or four large orange/gold dimmer lights flickered on and off with no rhyme or reason. We both exclaimed "Whoa, do you see that??." As we approached it further, there was no sign of it moving from its original location.
We nearly passed underneath it on the road, about 50 feet from the intersection of the state park rd. I would say it wasn't more than 200 feet in the air above us. Once we passed it, I noticed three super bright white lights in an upside down triangle formation.
After that, I lost sight of it because someone was following us closely and it became difficult to see past their headlights. When we arrived at my father's house, we explained what we had seen. I returned about 10 minutes later to the spot with my father but it had gone.
Last night (Wednesday, January 31, 2006), My father's girlfriend was traveling down the same road at about the same time and saw similar lights at the same location.

2 low flying brightly lit and quiet objects in sequence, taking the same flight patter. A cylinder came over the lake, with lights all the way around it as if the lights were shining through windows. It also had smaller red lights around the circumference.
It was flying much lower than a usual airplane, and was quiet. About 10 minutes after this, we saw another flying object taking the same flight pattern. It had a large bright rectangular light in the front, and was just as low and quiet.
But as it got closer, we could see that the entire underbody was lit up, and that it was more the shape of a normal small plane. About 15 or 20 minutes later, there was another flyijng craft. This was an airplane, and was noticeably louder, higher (even though landing), and taking a different flight pattern to reach the airport.

Randomly flashing lights of red; blue; green; yellow ,small sphere quickly; randomly darting back and forth . The objects seen had blinking lights of red; green; blue; and yellow. They were darting back and forth very quickly in one small area.
The second one we saw came about half an hour after the first one almost parallel across the sky from it. The second one we saw for only 10 minutes, and then it went behind the horizon. The first one lasted about an hour, darting back and forth while slowly moving behind the horizon.
The blinking lights and the way the UFO was moving had apparently no pattern and was very random. After an hour the first UFO had also moved behind the horizon. The shape of the object was hard to make out, it was very small from where we could see with the naked eye, or even binoculars from the ground.
It was closer to a sphere than other shapes. Myself and 2 other witnesses live in a very rural area where the sky is wide and open with no tall buildings or street lights to block our viewe. We are often out after dark, and on clear nights we can see the entire night sky.
This is the second similar sighting we have seen within the past year.

Delta or Vee shaped, silent, travelling west to east from Lake Champlain towards New Hampshire The shape was either triangular or Vee shaped- it varied with the angle of viewing. Craft was flying high ( a plane from Burlington Int'l Airport took off below it). The color changed from a whitish silver to having distinct dark lines along the left edge of the craft.
Sometimes it looked like I could see thru the craft. At some points it seemed camoflaged or invisible against the sky and clouds. There was no engine noise that I could detect.
The craft was flying east to west along a cloud front that I was observing for signs of scalar patterns.

bright white, silvery ball of light, soft ball sized in backyard I was outside with the dogs in the backyard and out of the corner of my left eye I started to see a bright light. When I looked up, I saw a soft-ball sized or slightly larger ball of light that was silvery and white in color, fairly bright, travelling pretty fast, maybe 50 - 60 mph. It was against a black night sky and dark trees because it was night time.
It looked like it came out of a treed aread overhead, passed between another tree and near the roof of the house. It was maybe no more than 20-30 feet overhead. There was no sound.
It passed by within a second or two. There was no sign of it after I went and looked around the corner of the house. When I saw it my first thought was that I was seeing a shooting star.
But, then I realized that it was so closes overhead that it wasn't a shooting star at all, and it wasn't arcing, it was going in a straight, linear direction from my left to my right, in a perfect straight line, no arcing.

A ray of light sprang to the sky out of the dark woods that was lazer-like. We were tourists visiting our aunt in Newport,VT. After a long time shopping in Freeport, ME, we decided to head back.
Nothing caught my eye until circa 9:50 PM. It was dark,in the woods. Moon was active [but not full].
I was all eyes, because the woods enthrall me. The trees were lined, just dark, until a ray of cerulean light shot out. It sort of poked the sky.
It lasted 6 seconds. There were no homes or street lights. It was grotesque of the scene.
I looked back while the car's speed permitted, but nothing was similar. It appeared to be from some specimen of machinery.

red white sphere I spotted what looked like a red and white star just over the top of a mountain several miles away. Over a period of one hour it seemed to rise up slowly almost undetectably further above the mountain. It may be that I've stared at it too long or it could actually be moving from side to side.
I am currently watching it as I write this. ((NUFORC Note: Probable twinkling star. PD)).

Saturday, 6/11/05- 23:22 Blue bubble-like spheres falling from the sky. On Sat . 6/11/05 I woke up at about 11:10 p.
m. I had gone to bed early, it was very hot. I'd had a very strange dream that had woken me up.
I turned on the light in my bedroom and lay there getting my wits about me. I then got up and went downstairs to use the bathroom and to get a drink of water. As I passed through the dining room in the dark, I glanced out the windows and saw a bright blinking white light about 100-150 feet over the road.
I continued into the kitchen, then bathroom. When I came out, I stopped and got a drink of water out of the refrigerator. As I walked back through the dining room, I glanced out of the windows again and walked to the window to get a better look at the blinking light that was still there and saw the light moving from over the road towards the field between my house and my neighbor's.
I stood there for a minute or two trying to figure out what it was when these blue bubble-like spheres began to fall from the light towards the ground in the field about 200 ft. from the house. They seemed to tumble down and then sort of float a little way before landing on the ground.
They glowed bluish with a gold-like color interior, sort of translucent. I think that about twelve or fifteen had fallen before I became very agitated as to what to do about it. I then ran back into the kitchen and out into the enclosed porch off the kitchen facing them and turned on the outside lights on the porch roof that shown in the direction of the field.
As I returned to the dining room windows (I looked at the kitchen clock and it was 11:22 p.m.) to see if I could see anymore of the bubbles or the blinking lights and I could see nothing.
I left on my outside lights all night long and didn't go to sleep until about 3:30 A.M The next morning I walked the field but could find no evidence of what I had seen the night before. I have seen several strange things in the sky here for several years now, but nothing as up close as this.
I am a professional person and am very sensible, with a sound mind. This incident was just too strange, even in light of the last several years' sightings, some of which I have reported to you. Many I have not, though.
The night was dead calm. VERY HOT. There was absolutely no sound at all.
None from the object of light in the sky or the bubble-like spheres. None in the entire area at the time of the sighting. I have drawn a likeness of what I saw.

300ft cylinder moving east to west. White lights in front, blinking red lights on tail. I was home on the night of April 11, 2005 watching a PBS tv special about the laying of the trans-atlantic telegraph cable.
I was sitting in a chair next to a large picture window that faces directly south. The only lights on inside the house were a small night light in the bathroom and the light from the television set. From the corner of my eye I saw a bright light outside which emerged slowly from behind some trees on the east side of my house.
The time was 9:54pm. The light appeared to be a cluster of bright (prismatic) white lights which was immediately trailed by a long, very dark space and then there was a small cluster of blinking reddish lights. My first impression was that the cluster of reddish lights was an airplane chasing the white lights.
I ran outside to my porch and watched this object move slowly, perhaps 100-150mph, from east to west. The sighting was at least a full minute. It very soon became apparent that this was not two objects but one.
The white lights in the front were trailed by a long, dark, unlighted structure that blotted out the stars as it passed. It was a bright, starry night with a crescent moon low on the northwestern horizon; the moon was below the treeline behind the house. The trailing cluster of blinking, reddish lights followed in perfect, attached unison to the white lights and the unlighted structure, never moving closer or further away.
My best estimate of the size of this object (seen from the side) is about 300ft. The object passed about 1000-1500ft from me and passed over the hill behind my house with about 200ft of clearance. The hill's elevation is 1900 ft, my house is about 200ft below that.
The object passed directly east to west over the southern portion of my 11 acre, heavily wooded, hillside lot. The area I live in is sparsely populated with few paved roads and no streetlights. The lights of the local village are visible in the valley below my home, about four miles away to the northeast.
Only half of the village is visible due to intervening hills. As the object passed my home I heard what I took to be a freight train passing through the village, this is a frequent and familiar sound. I did not equate this sound with the presence of the object which did not seem to make any sound at all.
For the record: I have ten years of military experience with the US Air Force and US Air Force Reserves. My service was spent working on and flying in military aircraft (not as a pilot). I am familiar with military aircraft and helicopters.

Round glowing red object with smaller lights around it. One round, glowing, red object that looked at first like a bright star or airplane (however there were no bright red lights as are usually seen on an airplane). We then saw that there were smaller lights encircling the object and it was suspended in air.
We were watching the object because we couldn't decide if it was a plane or star, and while watching it, my 16 year old daughter exclaimed that it was a shooting star. While we watched, the object fell very quickly in a right-sided arch and stopped suddently at a 3:00 point. It did fall as fast as a shooting star before stopping.
The object remained in that position without any further movement.

A star-like object appears close to the sun I was sitting on my porch (second floor) watching the sunrise and drinking tea. There were no clouds in the sky and it was about 35-40 degrees F. The sun had been above the hills for maybe an hour when I looked up from my cup of tea and saw a bright white "star" below and a little to the right of the sun (about 1 inch below the sun from my perspective).
It must have been very bright indeed because it was close to the sun and I was wearing sunglasses, and yet, it was still very visible. It was not moving. After 1.
5 - 2 seconds the light faded quickly(it didn't just "Blink" off, but it still faded very fast). At first I thought it might be a passenger jet that was reflecting the sunlight, but after it disappeared I saw no jet or airplane, there was no white trail, nor was there any sound. About 2 seconds after the first light faded another light appeared (it sort of "faded in" instead of out) farther to the right of the first position.
From my perspective the two object's positions were roughly 2 inches apart in the sky. The second light was just as bright as the first, at the same distance above the horizon, and it was also motionless. It lasted around 1 second, and then faded just like the first one.
Again I looked for any sign of an aircraft but there were none. I've lived in this apartment for almost three years, and I sit on the porch with my tea almost every day (except during the winter) and I have never seen anything like this before. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate.
Since she submitted the report on the date of the sighting, we do not understand her apparent confusion over the date. PD)).

Two bright white flashes seen in the S/SE at around 35-40 degrees above horizon from Milton, VT. From the south/southeast came two bright white flashes within the span of a second and a half. Not like an explosion with residual flame/fire/debris, but more like the "loud boom" fireworks they display on July 4th.
However, there was no percussion heard for the five minutes I waited afterward. Estimated elevation from Milton, VT, was around 35-40 degrees from horizon and distance is unknown so it could have been towards southern NH or Eastern MA. There was also a large jet flying in that direction not 30 seconds afterwards and flew almost directly over my location.
The only reason I know it was large was due to the marker strobes displayed. I don't normally like to report these things because of the nature of general thought on UFO's but these were definite and unmistakable white flashes in an area relatively void of these sorts of things.

There were 3-4 round amber looking shaped in the sky lighting up as if they were trying to connect with one another The first lights that were seen were lights that looked like lights that are on planes at night, but were standing still in three areas, and just kept blinking. All of a sudden, after we had pulled over to the side of the road, we saw 3-4 round amber looking shapes in the sky lighting up as if they were trying to connect with each other back and forth. We were stunned as we sat there and watched them, when all of a sudden two of them it seemed as if they threw something out of the craft, looked just liked "fireworks" or like a cigarette butt being thrown from a car window.
Then they disappeared from the sky. We sat there and waited for them to come back because we could still see the blinking "plane" lights, about a minute later, they flashed again, and did the same thing, except they were in different positions than the last time, and only one craft acted as if it was throwing something out of it's craft. It was very bizarre but yet exciting.
It only lasted about ten minutes, we watched the blinking lights get brighter and start to move south very quickly and they were gone, and we knew that it wasn't goingto come back for the evening and that our show was over.

strange humming orb Gave off odd haze while on hunting trip. It really scared us, and we packed our camp and got the hell out of there. Humming noise -- caused radio interference.
Craft seemed to change amospheric pressure in immediate area. ((NUFORC Note: Possibly not a serious report. Witness provides a paucity of information about alleged event, and elects to remain totally anonymous.

A cluster of yellow-orange lights that formed an arched line in the sky appeared and disappeared instantly. I was driving on the highway at night with my daughter and we noticed a group of lights ahead of us in the sky. The lights were yellow-orange in color and were in a kind of cluster.
The lights were different sizes and there seemed to be a few different rows of them. They formed a line that was straight on the bottom and arched on top. The lights were higher then tree level but lower then we see a plane fly, they did not appear to be moving.
As we were puzzling what the lights could be, they just disappeared. Then about 15 seconds or so later they were back again. They were there for another minute or so then gone completely.
