Silent Dark V shape outlined with small white lights The sighting took place on an open hilltop in a dark, quiet rural area. I looked up on a clear starry evening and a movement caught my attention. At first I thought it was a plane of some sort, but something about the size and movement didn’t make sense compared to a normal aircraft.
I also realized there was no sound which I would expect from a jet of such size flying so close: it appeared about the size of two fingers held at arm’s length. I stood still for several minutes watching and waiting to hear the roar of jet engines, but nothing. The speed seemed peculiar as well, at first going very slowly overhead, then progressively faster as it got toward the tree line.
((NUFORC Note: Source indicates that date is approximate. PD)).

VT,Moretown-VERY BRIGHT greenish(?) VERY LARGE formation descending and VERY RAPIDLY almost vertically; no crash,no flames;disappeared. i'm very freaked out right now. typing is difficult.
unfortunately,i have a terrible sense of measurement, but i'll try my best. i can't tell you how low it was sky, but it was REMARKABLY LOW and very close- like within 30 miles. i was facing north towards duxbury, vermont.
(camel's hump mtn is the landmark i would reference). camel's hump was sort of in the background. so i was outside at approx 2:30am and i was facing north from south hill in moretown and i looked up for a sec and saw a VERY VERY bright greenish VERY LARGE flash or formation kind of shape descending almost vertically and VERY RAPIDLY!! instantly i KNEW that thing was NOT a plane.
i thought MAYBE a meteor, but it did NOT look as if it crashed or landed!! it actually seemed to switch off or disappear from view as it got closer to the ground. i looked for about 2 minutes towards the ground where the object would have landed or crashed but i saw no flames or explosions. unfortunately, because i was in a jacuzzi, the jets made too much sound to hear well, but this is sort of a valley here and even with jacuzzi jets going, one might hear such a massive object hit! i'm very frightened as i write this so i need to log off.
if you need more information, contact me. i did report the incident to 911, in case it was a plane going down- or whatever. but i know that was not a plane!! thank you, dj.

small green light, high altitude, changing direction. Beautiful, clear night. Many stars visible.
Came home from work, got out of car and started to admire the night sky. Noticed small green light ("glowstick" green), moving at extremely high altitude. It was average star size as seen with human eye.
Object was moving southwest across horizon (about 40 degrees above horizon). It left no trail, was not blinking, just a solid light moving quickly. At first thought it was a satellite, but then it stopped dead.
Then it started to speed up again, then disappeard altogether. It reappeared a moment later on same course, then changed course by about 10 degrees, slowed down, sped up again. It then disappeared twice more, reappearing each time.
Changed course sharply once again, sped up and disappeared into horizon. Reported to Vermont State Police same night.

Tonight, at about 6:45 PM EST I was traveling home south to my home in the Northeast Kingdom of VT when I saw two white strobe lights high in the sky, which was cloudy tonight. I was trying to see what they were and trying to stay on the road. They were traveling very fast and traveling very closely, in a south, southeast direction.
One higher and one nearer to the ground. As I passed the higher land, I lost sight of them. When I parked my vehicle outside my home, which is on a higher elevation than where I was traveling, I no longer saw them.
I went inside my home to do my evening chores for my animals. At about 7:00 PM, when I was walking my dogs back to my house I saw bright flashing red strobe type lights (VERY BRIGHT) on probably what is Mt Lincoln in NH. By the time I went to my barn, at about 7:15 PM EST, they were gone.
I am a very sensible person. Is anyone out there???.

I have seen and still see the same lights that my neighbor in Littleton, NH saw. The neighbor was saying that he/she saw the lights in the south southeastern sky above Mt. Washington, NH.
(sse, that was their way of saying it) only that the lights are and have been moving up the sky with the constellations. (see my entry at Greenfield, MA for 12/26/00). Does anyone know what is happening here? These do not seem to be stars.
They flash green, white and red lights. Their submission: Occurred : 1/10/2001 19:00 (Entered as : 01/10/01 19:00) Reported : 1/11/2001 16:39 Posted : 2/18/2001 Location : Littleton, NH Shape : Sphere Blinking colors There is what looks like a star sse from me in littleton, towards mount washington at 7pm. It seems though to be blinking and changing colors from white to green to red and back to white again.
It also sems to be much closer than a star. When I first saw it, I thought it was a search and rescue helicopter for mount washington, but it didn't move. It is in the same spot at the same time tonight.
Is this a satellite I am seeing? Thank You, ((NUFORC Note: Witness does not indicate the direction he is looking, but we suspect either Venus or Sirius. PD)) ((2nd NUFORC Note: If the object is giving off vivid red, blue, and white light, and it is located in the south-southeast sky, it is not Venus; it is the star Sirius, also known as the "Dog Star." Source of report is anonymous.
PD)).

Large dark helicopter at treetop level follows orange light thru rural community. I was preparing dinner when I looked out of my kitchen window and saw a small orange light (basketball-sized ?) zig-zag at treetop level making very sharp turns, and thought for a moment that maybe it was reflections of cars in my window.but it was so unusual visually my thoughts were focused on what was it that I didn't hear the low rumble.
and as soon as I recognized that it was a helicopter. and damn low.I ran to my deck and saw the orange light make a beeline to the north followed.
not too closely.by a huge (relatively) 'copter ALSO at treetop level and the copter was flying so slowly.like it was keeping it's distance from the orange light.
You must understand that this is a very small community nestled in the hills with no airports within 20 miles. While on my deck watching this event my next door neighbor came running out.this copter was SO LOW and so LOUD that the house was shaking.
and asked me what was happening.at least 2 children were in the doorway watching.we exchanged a couple of words on the matter and he asked me what I thought it was and I told him "I dont want to say" as I glanced at the children.
From the perspective of the movies the helicopter sounded large and POWERFUL.like a 'huey'.the only light on the copter was a single small red light.
I'm not sure of the location on the copter because my attention was fully focused on the orange light which by then had moved completely out of sight. This 'circus' of light and sound seemed to be following Vt. Rte 346 in a 'northerly' direction.
