Montana UFO Sightings in 2001

Large triangular craft observed over Great Falls Montana. At approximately 03:00 hrs on Dec 29th,01 a triangular craft was spotted on the east edge of town adjacent to the Malmstrom AFB (GFA). The craft was about 50 yards in total length and almost as wide.

The craft appeared to be at an altitude of 50 feet, made no sound at all and was traveling at a slow rate of speed (approx 25mph)heading south east toward the "Little Belt" mountains. As the"Black" craft flew over the point of observation, it was observed that it had a low glow of perimiter lights of pulsing greenish blue. As the craft exited over a small portion of the city it was opserved to dissapear or blend into the street lights rendering it unobservable with the exception that one could still make out the movement of the craft as it was blanking out the street lights when the craft got between the street lights and the point of observation.

Once the craft exited the east notrheast portion of the city and proceeded over wheat fields the craft was no longer observable. It is interesting to note that in the local Great Falls news, we have had reports of cattle mutalations in the area.

Triangle Craft and Cattle Mutilations I can attest to the siting that was already posted about this one. I too observed the Triangle Craft but it was closer to my house and flew directly over Malmstrom Air Force Base as well as the Little Belt Mountains. I was in my room and I saw it from my window jet off by the Little Belt Mountains.

This is not the first time I had seen this Triangle Craft. I had seen it at least three times prior in my youth by the Little Belts and MAFB. Two of those times, ranchers in the Belt area reported Cattle Mutilations.

In 2001 and previous in 1995 and apparently the early 70s as well according to my parents.

Revolving red and green lights around a white light. My mother and I saw a light almost due east. We watched it thinking it was a plane or something of the sort, but it did not move and it seemed to be flashing intermittent green and red.

It appeared that the green and red lights were revolving around the white light. Could be a planet, but seemed to be far too regular in its pattern to be such. ((NUFORC Note: No duration for the event is indicated.

fast moving ball with tail no sound, beaming light in front that swooped from tail my husband and sister in law and i were going to pick up pizza, it was 6:30 and very dark. the town we were in only has 250 people in it so we could see the sky very well. no city lights were blocking any kind of view in the sky.

as we were driving on to the highway i noticed an object that looked like a comet moving quit fast, so we pulled over and got out of the car and was looking up into the sky at this thing, it had no sound. it was a brilliant white ball that had a tail on it just like a comet, as we stood there, we watched a beam of light come from the tail around to the front of the thing, it projected light like i have never seen before. it went above this cloud that was pretty long and at the other end there was a plane comming the opposite direction, this ball went UNDER the plane.

after the plane passed the object sat for a second and sorta did a wave like a swerving car and projected off really fast and dimmed to nothing.

in august 2001 my entire family saw two formations of saucer-like objects form & unform over about 30-40 minutes it was just prior to sunset in august, last year. My son and his s.o.

were taking me with them to my ex-wife's home. we were west bound on Euclid Ave. I saw what I thought was a metior; a bright orange trail of light crossing diagonally from high in the north to low in the south above the mountanous horizon.

I pointed it out to my son and his girl. As we watched it came to a halt, from nearly, if not, mach speed to hovering. it appeared to be to the right of a mountain, thogh I am sure it was much farther west and highert (perhaps over the Pacific).

Other saucer shaped objects came from other directions at a much slower speed. We got to my ex's, got her, my other two sons and daughter, went to a parking lot where the view was unobstructed, and we all watched as somehere around a dozen similar objects formed into a diamond formation, hovering. at times one or two would leave the formation for short durations then rerturn.

another similar formation took shape appearing to the left of the mountain, and some of those objects left and returned from time to time. We were all fascinated by this sight. i commented that i hoped they weren't cowboy aliens here to round up human cattle for their tables, or aliens that figured they'd best eliminate this warlike speices from the universe before we become a danger to them.

then both formations broke off into various directions. I didn't call the radio station as i was somewhat intoxicated. none of the others were intoxicated.

thogh it's been a about a year this event is still indellibly etched in my memory. i would even suspect myself of toxic halucination if it hadn't been seen by the entire family. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.

Strange triangular light sighting over Northern Montana As a musician/singer, I had been performing the day before at the VFW club in Malta. The ranch where I was a guest was 30 miles away. So the following evening the 18 yr.

old son of my hosts drove me into town to pick up my PA equip. in his truck. Going back to the ranch we had to travel quite slow as these are gravel roads through thousands of acres of cattle/wheat/ect.

and my equip. could be damaged. There were no lights anywhere for miles other than the headlights.

As we came up a foothill rize, I saw 3 bright lights in the northern sky. I pointed them out to the young man and he freaked. "Wow"!!! he said "My good buddy and I saw lights like these last winter coming home from football practice" We stoppe the truck, turned off the headlights and watched these 3 lights in the form of a triangle move through the sky from west to east.

then stationary.then move. When suddenly the lights separated into a line and quickly headed into the handle of the little dipper and each one moved into the exact star pattern and never moved again.

We watched for quite some time before heading back to the ranch. This ranch is about 20 miles south of the Canadian border on the "highline". This is only the most recent sighting for me.

I've seen 4 before this occasion beginning in 1965 (with many witnesses) over Billings,Mt. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. PD)).

Two lights as bright as meteors moving north & east respectively almost collide, swerve and change direction dramatically. At about 12:30 am two witnesses stepped out onto the lawn to discuss Mars and Antares. As they were looking at Mars in the southern sky, a bright light moving north from out of the south caught their attention.

The object grew brighter in intensity and at first seemed as if it must be a meteor, but highly unusual as the brightness seemed almost too much to look at directly. It quickly grew to be twice as bright as venus, and then faded again. The still visibly bright light was suddenly joined by another bright light catching up to it as it moved north -- the two objects seemed to interact with each other.

The two objects seemed about to collide with each other, then suddenly "swerved" or danced around each other, and then both lights zipped off in opposite directions, one to the east and one to the west. In the witnesses' opinions the objects could not have been weather baloons or satellites.

Flashing mulitcolored lights on hilltop dip behind hill and reappear as rectangular strobing craft. On A warm clear Saturday night my wife and I were sitting outside on our deck on the south hill in Missoula Montana. I was pointing out to her where I saw what I thought to be a fire on Waterworks hill on the northside of our small town of about 60,000 people.

As we were looking a flicker of amber light appeared. I thought this wa rather odd so I got out my very light sensiteve binoculars and waited to see if the flicker reappeared. I was supprised to see the light appear again only this time the light changed to a brilliant white.

I continued to watch and found that the light would change appearance. About every 20 to 60 seconds light changed color, location and duration although the light flashes only lasted a maximum of about 10 seconds per incedent. The light firsh was first amber, then white then amber then amber then red then blue.

I had thought that perhaps these were left over fireworks but the short flash of most of the lights and the intesity considering that it was about 15 miles away made it seem unlikely. As I contiunued to watch the light then moved behind the hill and projected a beem of light upward in a "V" formation so that all that was light was the air itself. Then positioning itself back atop of the hill it flashed two short green flashes.

About a minute and a half later it then flashed a combined blue and red combination light. As I waited there were no more light flashes for about 10 minutes then out from behind the hill a craft slowly appeared from behind west side of the hill. This craft had a stack of three amber lights horizontally and vertically.

In the center very brilliant white lights strobed from left to right. It then changed direction and started moving slowly north toward the small community of Saint Ignatius, Montana. I watched it slowly drift north for about 3 to 5 minutes.

A comercial airliner then flew directly over my home and within seconds the unidentified craft made a extreamly quick turn to the east and accerlerated. I would say the ! craft by that time was 30 miles away and during its acceleration covered 10 to 15 miles in about 3 to 5 seconds and disappeared bihind a group mountains somewhere in the St. Ignatiius Valley which is in the Mission Mountain range area.

I have never before seen a craft that I felt that I could not explain but both my wife and I were and are baffed. I was not going to report this for fear of being thought of as I may be accused of causing a mass halucionination with my wife but our local radio station that they had received several calls from people around the Missoula area that a green light had been seen moving about our city late Saturday afternoon. This gave me the courage to tell what I and my wife had seen.

fastest craft must be huge standing out side our hotel room smoking a cigg.before we sleep,the hotel is to our back and to the left was a ridge or mountain i think and the moon was near entering the well foud out the moon was up any way from the left of the sky i spoted a s-lite well it was not and franticly trying to get my friend to see it he spotted it ,started as bright s-lite ,think it my have mbeen moving slow when it cought my eye ,well it was super fast,crazeist thing out many awy inspireingthings ive seen !!!!????????sorry. moving acrossthe sky fast fast fast arround or before mid sky abbout 5 o-clock from zienth it took the shape of a bright gold triangle and sort of a flash or somthing there it is .

allmost glowing but more moon lit and some srt of heat distortion w/vopor trails out of the atmosphere,closet resembleance is the space shuttle on tv when srb sepp. occ. any way it hard to discribe all this and grasp what happend in less than 4or5sec.

for some reason we bolth got a strong bird impreasion. ithad entered or somthing and i also seemed it may have rolled over ?seeming to wabble a little the prophile was falcon shape,head only,then rotated looking like a hunched over bird?????all wile on same path and speed but that half second we actually saw IT it like zoomed in i got the impression it looked at us because changing how it did and the rotation seemed to pause and so visible for that fraction it was gone .triangle sattlelite horizon wow ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates the event occurred on June 27, 2004.

white orb that lasts for 20 seconds and then disappears. A circle orb travelled horizontal for approximately 10 second then travelled slowly towards its 4 O'clock for the remainder of the 10 seconds, right before it disappeared it turned bright yellow. Recorded.

when zoomed to view the color surrounding the circle changed colors from purplish to white, throught the time it was visible until it finally turned yellow and disappeared. Location is in the sky well above the background hills and mountains, time 2:52:07-2:52:27 ((NUFORC Note: Witness does not indicate date of sighting. Bright light from sattelite sized object pans area in which we were camping At approximately midnight, after my friends and I had decided to retire for the night. My boyfriend and friend became excited after seeing a satellite sized object move across the sky and then stop and become intensely brighter, then appearing to "pan" with this same bright light across the area. At this time the circular object was to north of us.

After panning across the sky it dimmed as if someone had switched off a light and then became very small again and headed to the west. After 20 to 30 minutes, my friend began to flash his flashlight upward to the sky overhead, wher I noticed to the south the same object, but much lower, repeating the signal back. I told the other two and they confirmed this.

The light was larger and fairly closer this time. Afterwards, it returned to the sattelite size and shot again to the west. After becoming upset, we loaded up the truck and went back to Lewistown.

My friend riding in the back of the truck noticed the object again as we were leaving. He said it repeated a similar action to those of before. Each time the light was very bright, and much brighter than any star or planet in the sky.

It even outshone Jupiter which was clearly visible in the sky. There were no clouds that evening to block our view. After the first sighting, we noticed that within five to ten minuts afterwards, two planes intersected over the spot, one from the east and one from the west, almost as if investigating the incident.

Small blueish-yellow/white light in the hills a few miles south of Worden, MT. It was a blueish-yellow/white bright light in the hills a few miles almost directly south from Road 11 North, in Worden where I live. My stepmom, youngest stepbrother, me and possibly my other stepbrother, saw the "object" sometime in May-June 2001 around 9-10pm or so.

I don't know if anyone besides us seen it. I'm not sure if it was just our imagination, a small unannounced explosion, or a small meteorite that wasn't found/reported or something else. It only lasted a few seconds, so I wasn't able to grab the camera from my dad's room to take a picture.

The next morning, my stepmom heard that there was a farm with dead cows and other animals in a field around the same area we saw the weird light. We aren't sure if it's true or not. Nothing else like that has happened since then ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.

Town sees ufo. I had been in my friends house and was about to leave. My wife and children had came running into the house and said" dad something is in the trees over there".

My friend had a pair of strong binoculars and as I looked through them I was suddenly reminded of car lights and christmas lights strung together. I had observed the lights coming closer to us, and leaving the trees. I knew that a car could not be in the area described as it was heavily forested with trees and a car could not maneuver in this enclosed space.

we watched as it flashed red blue then yellow. We all became excited and my children said "dad let's go" We have numerous sightings in this isolated part of montana. Some nights we see so many that the whole town just says "oh yeah" " I see them, " Now what" lol.

One of the times we had seen a ufo I also got to see a AWAC (along with four jets). It also had sucked energy from a power plant about 20 miles from our town. (My brother_in _law(who worked at the coal-powered plant) had said they had to keep readjusting the power to keep up with the ebb and flow of the demand.

Don't know what this was. It looked like pictures of comets I have seen. The head of the light was large in the sky, comparing it with stars that night.

The light seemed to appear out of nowhere and fell down in a 90 degree arc into the mountains, or east of the mountains(Swan Mountains, just sounth of the Flathead, Lake county borders.) Two of us saw it and were in complete awe. I expected there to be a jolt when it hit(if it hit ground); but, there was no jolt.

One observer works in the conservation field and the other is currently a stay at home mom. We talked to people the next day to see if they had seen what we had seen; but, so far, nobody had, and looked in the paper and heard the news and there was no mention of a comet, meteor etc., unless we missed it.

It was not northern lights; I have seen that.

three seperate object, the center light was a red triangle in a light fog March 9, 2001 Driving from Billing , toward Kalispell Mt. on I 90 heading west.It started to sput snow, and wanted to make it over "Homestead Pass" before there was to much snow.

I Up ahead you could see there was going to be a turn to the right, tail lights disapearing in the distance. When I noticed a Bright white light. Looked round-dome the top half was bright, the bottom half seemed in the fog.

You could see the out line of the object, in the dark . the mountains in the distance , you could make out. Thinking I was heading into a town, or another power/ type of plant.

When I looked up again, there was a small white car in front of me, and a 18 wheeler type truck in the rear. When I noticed another light.this one red.

all in the fog,this time, but you couldn't mistake the triangle shape, pointed up, .So know there are the two lights and we are almost to the corner.There is a third light, white and long -10 times or bigger in size, to the other two lights.

well the little car, pulls over to the side of the road,abruptly. with there emergency flashers going. me I look in my mirror, see where the truck is, Try to look in the car as I drive by, but it is too dark.

Should have stopped,by now I am around the corner, no town nothing to give off the lights. To compact in size to be the aurora borealis. stumped.

I happened to be back in town (Bozeman )on saturday.talked to some friends which said.Belgrade Mt.

which is maybe 9 miles from Bozeman lost power Friday . Just coencidence ??? I never heard any noise, did't notice any wind, smell.
