I saw a large rectangle of bright white light. It stayed in one place for about a minute and then turned into one small light that looked like an airplane. And then disappeared completely.

Bright light/red flashing lights ((NUFORC Note: We suspect the witnesses may have been observing a star. However, that is only an educated guess on our part. PD)) Had gone out on the balcony to see if there were any meteors, because I didn't think I would be up early enough to see the climax of the meteor shower the next morning.

I noticed a very bright light in the sky, southeast of my home, and southeast of Black Mountain (I'm pretty much on Black Mountain). At first I thought it was a star, but since I had been looking at the sky for the past few nights, this "star" seemed out of place. It was very bright, bluish white, and seemed to twinkle more than than other stars.

It was bigger than the other stars, and didn't have a star shape. I went back in the house, and came out about 15 minutes later. The star was still there.

still bright. still flickering. I dont have a telescope, so I tried looking at this object through binoculars.

While I couldn't make out any shape, this object was a bright, bluish white light, and I could see red flashes. I thought I saw what appeared to be other color flashes of blue and green, but those might have been illusions. I did see clear flashes of red light, however.

Very clear. I had never seen this in a star, so I sat and watched this object for a good half an hour, both with binoculars and without. It just sat there.

There were lots of planes out at that hour, and the visibility in that part of the sky was very clear. I thought maybe it was just a plane flying off into the distance, and figured I would see the light get smaller and smaller and just disappear, but it didn't. It maintained the same level of brightness, and the red flashing lights - appearing to come from various areas of the border of the light - were very distinct.

It was definitely an unidentified object to me, so I went into the house again to see if I could locate a telephone number to call and report this. I didn't know who to call, so looked on the internet and found your site. Still not sure of whether to report this, I went back outside.

At that point, what I saw appeared to be gone. I'm still not sure I should be sending this in, but I figured that maybe someone else saw what I saw. If anyone was looking at the sky tonite, surely they must have seen this.

And if others reported it as well, then numerous reports would only lend to the credibility of the appearance of whatever this was that I saw. I dont need anyone to contact me unless they need other information. But if there's someone there who can suggest a better way to look at such objects - e.

g., an inexpensive telescope; or, what to do if I should see something like this again, well I would certainly appreciate any information. Email contact is fine.

I checked the box that says there was an aura or haze around the object. This might have been caused by the binoculars. I don't know for certain.

On Nov 3,2001 me, my sister and my niece where getting of the freeway on sunset and we went towards the airport going to my other sisters house.My niece said to us look you guys there is something stopped right over are head and it's not moving and she is only 11 yrs old.We didnt listen to her and she said you guys better look because this thing has not moved.

So my sister looks and said that it might be and airplane but she asked me if and airplane moves and I told her no.So she told me that it was a UFO because when they turned around and looked at it again it dissapeard in a quick sec.I didn't believe them so I kept driving.

They told me that it had real bright white lights.So I turn down my sisters street and there it was again right above are car but this time it had real colorful lights and it was just sitting there for a min and then it dissapears again.I made a u-turn and went another way because this one kept following us on every turn we made.

So we stopped and got out of the car by the airport and where watching 2 red lights going towrds eachother like if they where going to crash we started yelling and getting scared because of what we where seeing was relly scary.Then after that we looked and saw this big bright light dive right into the bushes and shoots itself right back up in the air and then disappears in a sec.So we get in the car and look out the other side and you see one landing on top of a building and making the buiding light up in beautiful colorful lights and then it flew up in the air and dissepears again.

So where driving back to my sisters house and you see like 4 of those red lights flying around the Stratophere and then dissepered again.It was like if they where playing around in the sky.So we turned on my sisters street again and for the last time we saw a big beautiful ship right over are head about 10ft and it had all the lights of and it was glowing like a neon blue color and it was just so big we couldn't believe it and then it dissapears again in a matter of seconds and ! each tim e when we saw it it made no noise it was just silent.

It was really amazing of what we went throw that night.

Balck Diamond UFO over my house!! Frist of all it was awesome!!! It begun with a Flashing Light , then it was moving very slow and some times very fast ,I got some pictures with my digital camra so you can check it out. you know first my mother saw a black diamond shape that was flashing in the air so she got the most nearest view of that UFO , utill i got my camera it was way far!!! but i got some good pictures!!! you can zoom in and out!!! Three trucks, seven people, heading out hunting. 18 miles north of Montello, Nevada. Stars shining brightly.

No evidence of dawn yet. We observed a singular, dark cloud about 8 miles to the east in the dark sky. There was a beam of red light about 100 feet across shining straight down to the ground from the base of the cloud.

The red shaft of light was visible for about one minute. Vehicles were stopped, lights and engines off, to watch the event. A retired naval flight crew member said that in twenty years of flying he had never seen anything like it.

When the red light went out, it became dark once again. Sunrise occurred about 45 minutes later.

High altitude trangular grouping - high speed takeoff Moving from West To East I saw what I thought to be a helicopter at very high altitude as it maneuvered like one and eventually hovered directly overhead. There it was joined by two similar objects, one coming from the South and another from the East. They formed a perfect equilateral triangle and the whole group then drifted to the East.

After a few minutes the original one took off North at unbelievable speed , the other two took off South also at very fast speed. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the event is approximate. PD)).

Black triangular shape object tracking stealy across the sky. Saturday September 29, 2001 I was in my back yard looking at the few stars in the early night sky in Las Vegas Nevada. As I was looking toward the south I saw what appeared to be a grouping of helium balloons that some child must have lost.

However, as I began to track this object across the sky it became apparent that my first impression was wrong. The object definitely appeared to be at a higher altitude than any normal helium balloon that a child would have released might be. At this point I brought this object to the attention of my father who it an experienced meteorological technician.

He has worked for the Department of Commerce as part of the National Weather Service for almost 40 years. He tracks weather balloons almost every day. Taking that into consideration I assumed that he would have a theory as to what this object might be.

We retrieved binoculars from our house so we could take a closer look at this object. On closer inspection of the object it appeared to have balloons at the top supporting a black triangular shape at the bottom. The balloons also seemed to be illuminated by a very dim light.

The strange thing about this object was the balloons did not appear to be big enough or strong enough to support such a large object. We also confirmed that this was not a weather balloon. As I mentioned previously my father, who is an experienced weather observer, observed this object as I did and he was absolutely positive that it was not a weather balloon.

We watched this object track to the southwest at a steady pace at about 20-30 knots. It appeared to be at an altitude of 10 to 15 thousand feet. It did not appear to descend or climb at all during the 20 min.

Large fireball spotted over Nevada I was looking to the east, when I noticed a very bright white object in the sky, heading east. I got my binnoculars to get a better look, and it looked as if it were something coming through and burning in the atmosphere. I could vaguely make out a small dark spot at the front core, but the rest of it looked like a huge fireball with "tails" or "trails" coming from either side.

I watched it continue to travel to the east until it went behind the clouds. I am not saying it was a flying saucer, because it didn't look like one. no metal object, just a huge fireball.

I am just curious as to what it was, if anyone has information.

It was a bright hovering over the ridge of the mountains It was Sept. 2001 It was about 10:00 P.M.

I was coming back from the lake. We have a ridge of mountains off to right. When we saw a light.

It just hovered there on the tops of the mountains it lasted about 5 min. I've seen this one before , about 6yrs. earlier it was just a light hovering on top of the mountains.

bright blue fire ball falling down in the North Las Vegas area by Nells AFB. I was driving in my car, turning down and traveling east on Katie St. just off Maryland Prkwy.

by Boulevard Mall. Just above the mall looking north, I couldn't help not to have seen, what took my attention by the extreme brightness of intensity. My estimation is that this would have been located more directly above the Nellis Airforce Base by my judging it.

Looked very simular to a satellite burning upon hitting the atmosphere but like i said, brightly burning with a blue color and tail. Happened very fast and there was no sound or smoke. Never heard any reports or news as well.

My reason to report this is the variation of how this burning object was unlike other types of instances I have seen from meteors, burning satellites, and comets encountered. Possible that the close proximity was a factor but where did it hit? Never heard news of it since? while I am here I would like to mention that Las Vegas, NV is the brightest city seen on the planet earth and looks as though where a star on the planets surface. If our telescopes where to see a star on the the surface of Mars, it would be a phenomena of amazing proportion.

Swarm of orange lights over Laughlin, NV What looked like a loosely organized swarm of orange lights emerged from roughly the southwest around 8:45pm local time as seen from a boat on the Colorado River near Laughlin, NV on Saturday, 25 August 2001. The "swarm" of lights, each of apparently equal brightness and being similar in color and brightness to the star Arcturus, initially subtended a fairly small angle comparable to the apparent angular diameter of the moon. Over the course of approximately fifteen minutes, the "swarm" moved toward the northeast while simultaneously dispersing and becoming dimmer.

By the time the lights were directly overhead they had dispersed enough for the swarm to subtend an angle comparable to at least ten times the apparent angular diameter of the moon, and each had become so dim as to be barely visible. The total number of lights is estimated at between thirty and fifty. At least five other people witness this event.

The organization of the "swarm" of lights did not appear to be in any geometric pattern, however they did remain roughly equally spaced even as they dispersed. At least one witness reported observing one or more lights moving in a slightly wavering path rather than a perfectly straight course.

I'm a warehouse worker. I was ten miles east of reno,when I observed a yellow and white light moveing very fast from west to northeast. It was the size of a bb used in a bb gun held at arms lenths.

It stayed just above the horizon the entire siteing. I made no sound. The object would accelerare at a high rate of speed and stop dead still in the sky.

It traveled in that fashion until it moved behind a hill where I lost sight of it. The object had a flashing apearence like a diamond.

Randomly flashing red and green lights at night. No visible body even when illuminated by lightning. Saw from commercial airliner.

I was on a SW airline flight from San Jose to Phoenix, ~35,000 ft and 500 knots. I don't know the exact location because the plane flew futher west than usual to avoid a thunderstorm. We were over CA 15 minutes before because I recognized all of the city lights from the San Jauquin valley.

Then everything went black, so I assumed we went far enough east to be in Nevada. I was looking at the lightning going mostly cloud to cloud in a 50 mile wide thunderhead to the east at about 40,000 feet. Then I saw red and green lights fly at a 90 degree angle to the plane (I was on the left side of the plane, and it was flying east.

I assume we were flying south). It was flying at about 20,000 ft. I watched it for a few seconds, and didn't think much of it until I noticed how fast it was going.

I spent four years in the Air Force, so I just thought it was a fighter. It was going at least 1,000 mph, because it was going at least twice as fast as other airliners going perpendicular to the one I was in. I always get a window seat and I spend most of my flying time looking out the window.

Then I noticed that the lights were not flashing periodically like a plane, but randomly. Sometimes there were more than one red, and the lights didn't stay on for the same durations either. It actually looked like the whole aircraft was either red or green because I could not see an aircraft body unless it emitting either the red or green, even when lightning lit up the sky, which it did at least once.

I watched it intensely. After about five seconds, it did a u-turn (changed its bearing by 170 degrees to about 280) in less than 100 milliseconds. Not only are there no planes that can do that, that stunt would have instantly killed anyone in the aircraft because of the g-forces.

Then after about one-two seconds of heading almost straight toward the plane, but still 15,000 feet lower, it headed straight up to about 25,000 feet in less than one second. I figure one mile per second is 3,600 mph, straight up. Then it changed course and he! aded NE and disappeared into the thunderhead in less than one second, at a speed more then twice before.

It seemed to be seeking out the lightning. In other words, If I was in an aircraft with that much capability, and I wanted to be hit by lightning, that's the exact flight path I would have took, assuming that I was coming from the west. About five minutes later, I asked the stewardess to ask the pilot if they saw anything on radar back then.

They said no other aircraft in the vicinity for longer than that. After we landed, I told the pilot and he didn't seem to care and told me to report it to the FAA if i wanted to. That's all folks.

7 lights near Nellis AFB in triangular formations heading towards lake mead area - fast! White lights in the East/Northeast sky. 3 in a triangle top (pointing up), 3 in a triangle bottom (pointing down), and a 7th light mostly in the middle with the bottom group. Started to fade from the left to right.

All moving right to left (moving to the east/northeast) 7th light moving all over the place at times very quickly. Sister remarked this happened couple times around same time before. * * * *** * ((NUFORC Note: The pattern provided by the witness did not survive the downloading process from our e-mail program to the database program.

However, it indicates approximately a diamond-shaped pattern, with a triangle in the lead, and a triangle, consisting of four objects, trailing behind. We will try to post his illustration. Witness is anonymous.

cigar shaped object flys u mountain range my sister was at her school when she saw this. she was facing west and saw a cigar shaped object head along the mountain range near Mt. charleston.

it was reddish black in color and moved along the range with shocking speed. it then disappeared over red rock canyon. it lasted 6-7 seconds and made no noise though i doubt she could hear any as it was very far away.

Flying wing, very large, silent. While hot tubbing at my residence in North Las Veags, I was checking out the night sky which is what I usually do when I spa. Directly above, I noticed what appeared to be an object with a flying wing shape moving in the direction of ESE.

It had very faint amber aura on the leading edge and was blackish/brown in color.very difficult to see unless looking directly at it. It appeared to be huge, dwarfing any aircraft that I have ever seen flying, cruising high (est.

10,000+feet), moving swiftly and silently in a straight line. It covered alot of arc in the sky in a brief time, I saw it for about 10 seconds. I thought it could have been a B-2 bomber (I have seen them at airshows), but this seemed significantly larger.

it seemed odd to me, but it was quite interesting to say the least.

Navada Dessert silver oval shaped U-F-O- sighting I was a truck driver working for ((name deleted)) transportation. Frankly, I don't know what i really saw, except that it was unlike any aircraft I ever saw, and let me tell you I have seen my fair share of them. Please let me explain.

I am an army veteran with nine years and nine months of service. My job numerclature was (16-sierra-20) what that means is; I was in charge of a shoulder fired stinger missle anti aircraft team. I was littraly trained to identify hundreds of aircraft, both Nato and non Nato aircraft; within five to seven secounds, my gunner within ten secounds.

To this day i'm still pretty good at it. I live next to the bigest army base in the United States so I still get plenty of practice. The inccident happened as I was leaving Los Vagas on my way back to Texas.

I was driving through the dessert heading East, off to my right front on my passenger side, I noticed a silver oval object very bright and relecting the sun. At first I thought it was a jet plain, but as it got closser it did not fit any profile I ever seen. It actually seamed to me as if it was bird dogging me.

It made several mennuvers up and down as it decreased and icreased in spead. If it was a human pilot in that aircraft I would think the goverment may have come up with some sort of new G-suit, becouse it would have definetly turned him or her into putty. Anyway it really started to give me the willies so I got on my C-B Radio and tried to reach somebody, anybody, I just wanted to see if any one else was seeing what I was seeing.

Well I never did get a responce back, the whole thing lasted for about 15-min. The dammed thing seamed to littraly just blink out of exitstance. I never told any one about it, never really felt compailed to do so.

But reacently I have thought about that day qwiet a bit. I even dreamed about it several times. it started to bug me more and more the more I think obout it the more it bugs me.

Well any way I really felt like I had tell somebody. I still havent told anyone I know I don't think I can; becouse receantly I started to get treatment for depression and I don't want any one to think i'm going nuts. So I decided to do some reasearch and cme accros this site.

I know I got to sound like some nut job but it really feels good to tell my story, just to get it off my chest. I don;t know maybe there is something to this U-F-O- stuff after all. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the event is approximate.

My grandson and I were on our way out to get an ice cream when we seen a light in the sky that is weird to say the least. It is more the color of a LARGE YARD LIGHT, with a very dark yellow or harvest moon cast to it subsequently lending a halo effect to the bottom part of the light. It is now higher in the sky than it was so that if I put my index finger in front of it, it is hidden.

But was much larger about a half an hour ago. It seemed to "hover" above the Pequop mountain range to the east of us. Most people would say that it was a "satallite" But those things are supposed to be much higher in "space" and maintain an orbit.

This thing would wobble from side to side like someone on the joy stick was looking for something. The night sky is very crisp and clear here tonight. ((NUFORC Note: We suspect the witness may have been observing a celestial body, perhaps Mars.

Three red objects flying by Three objects that were reddish in color were seen flying at a low altitude. They formed a straight line heading east I beleive. The objects were small and it seemed to be silent.

My friend and I were traveling back from Las Vegas when we spotted the three objects. They disappeared over a mountain. About a minute later a jet flew by seeming to chase the three red objects.
