slow, star like image that slowly faded away I'm not sure what I witnessed - don't want to say it was a UFO but it was strange. I set my alarm for 4:30 am to observe the meteor shower on 11/18/01. Went outside, sat down, and watched the sky for about 10 -15 minutes.
I noticed a star-like object that appeared to be moving very slowly (like a slow airplane)to the south west of my home. At first, I thought it was an airplane but then realized that it was WAY too high to be an airplane so then I thought that it could maybe be a meteor but it was too slow for that - plus didn't have a tail. I watched the object move across the sky and curve back to the right and disappear (or fade out) beside a star.
I thought that it was weird, as I have never seen anything like that before. I waited about 10 more minutes to see if I could see it again but it never came back. I got the creeps and went inside! I wouldn't mind being contacted regarding this sighting, but not sure if it's anything exciting enough to prompt investigation.

3 oddly moving stars It was late at night and some of my friends and I were looking at constellations. My wife pointed out to me a "moving star". I noticed it and told her it was a satellite and resumed my star-gazing.
In a very short time, 1 or 2 minutes, she said it "changed directions very quickly". I then started watching the object. The object seemed extremely high in the atmosphere.
It would move in one steady direction, then, as if it were tired of doing that, it would take a quick 90 degree turn in another direction. Then one of my friends noticed another object, then another. There were now a total of 3 moving "stars".
They roamed around a bit going one direction then another. They would also be moving east, then immediately go 180 degrees towards the west. They then seemed to group in a very large triangle after about 10 minutes of our observance.
When they finally were in the triangle formation, they would move back and forth very rapidly from east to west in the 180 degree fashion. I am not gullable, nor do I jump to conclusions. This was the FIRST ufo sighting I have ever witnessed.
It was very odd and I now have chills reporting this. The only theory I have come up with in the past 3 weeks since the incident is that they were some sort of military craft like a star-wars anti-missile(ICBM) craft. Food for thought:Sattellites do not move like that because they would need fuel to propel themselves, right?.

Hunter with video camera captures round object he's seen before. I am a newspaper reporter who interviewed a man about video footage he shot while hunting a deer on Lookout Mountain. He said the mystery object had a reflective glare like the metallic exterior of a passenger jet, but it did not move like one.
It maneuvered more like a helicopter, although he saw no rotor blades and it suddenly, abruptly went straight up and out of view. This gentleman had no idea what to do with the footage and contacted the local newspaper. He'd seen it 5 years ago and again before this, but this was the first time he had a video camera.
I found this website while researching for the story. We reported on numerous UFO sightings in Fyffe, Alabama and strange cattle mutilations that suddenly ended. I, myself, saw what the people were seeing back in 1993.
I don't know if it's space aliens, but something freaky is going on here. ((NUFORC Note: Digitized image was forwarded to NUFORC for our inspection. It appears to be quite indistinct in the digitized version.
We do not know what the witness managed to photograph. PD)).

I saw a large bright white light toward the ENE from my front yard. It was across the river and above the mountains. I called my mother, who lives nearby, and told her to come outside to see it.
I was on the phone talking with her as she was coming outside to see it. Before she got outside, however, the large bright light shot straight up into the sky and disappeared quickly. As I was telling her what I had seen, military aircraft began flying overhead.
We counted eight airplanes in a row, flying low in a straight line, directly toward (ENE) where I had seen the bright light in the sky. ((NUFORC Note: Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. Date of alleged event may be approximate, although the witness does not indicate that fact.

A very bright emerald green light sped from east to west, stopped and went straight up. To Wit: I went to put the trash out, as I was doing so, to the south of my property I saw an emerald green light in the sky. It was traveling from east to west, and doing so at GREAT speed.
It ( as I saw it) came from my left, and went to my right, (I was facing south). I am a US Marine, not given to flights of fantasy. I have been observing aircraft for many years, as I am a pilot.
The light was constant, not pulsing in any way. It was moving VERY fast. Then it stopped and after only a half of second or so it went straight up until it was out of my view.
After stopping and changing direction, I watched the light for 5 seconds or so. In that length of time I believe it was extra atmosphereic, based on my ability to determine the size reduction and rate of same. It could have moved slightly higher and reduced it's size similtaneously, however this did not seem to be the case to me, and I had no sense of this possibility at the time.
Not knowing the distance to target, I unable to extraplolate the size of the light or source of the light. My best guess based on my experience is 15,000 feet Mach 2.5.
or approximately 2250 MPH. I have never seen anything even close to this before, and with 46 years of information stored herein, I have no idea what this could have been. It was not "usual" and was unidentifiable with the limited amount of information.
It was not a conventional aircraft of any kind.It may not have been a craft at all. Flight path and G forces endured would suggest other.
However a platform for such a light does not currently exist in common knowledge. This observation suggests it does exist elsewhere, in fact it proves it (to me). ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates a date of October 01, 2001.
We will attempt to obtain the correct date. PD)) ((RESPONSE FROM WITNESS)) Director; The event occurred on or about the first of this month E.G.
August, 2001. If I am able to bo of further assistance, you need but ask. ((initails deleted)) ((END RESPONSE)) ((NUFORC Note: We have amended the date above, which is approximate.

Eight adults witness fast-moving bright object fly across the sky Our neighbor, a sherriff's deputy, was showing my two year-old niece his police cruiser (lights, siren, etc.). I glanced up to see a large bright white light moving very fast.
The brightness was much greater than an Iridium flare or the ISS at a very high intrinsic brightness. The speed of this object was so much greater than any conventional aircraft or orbiting satellite. I said, "look up! look up!", and everyone did to see the object continue in a straight line completely over the horizon.
The object travelled from NW to ESE, and was visible for about 10 seconds. When the object was directly overhead near 90 degree azimuth, it changed into a phosphorus-like green color, and amber "sparks" appeared to emit from the object, along with a slight, short-lived vapor trail. The object maintained its incredible speed and straight direction.
The object never broke apart, no sounds were heard, so subsequent sonic boom. The object should have been visible over east-central Alabama and west-central Georgia as it continued its course. The eight adults who were present discussed the object for a while.
We decided that if the object were a meteor, then it would have disintegrated to some degree while visible to us. Other logical explanations include the re-entry of a decaying satellite, booster rocket or some large mass of space junk coming back into our atmosphere. Weather conditions at the time: 72 degrees F, humidity 72 percent, dewpoint 68 degrees, wind calm, visibility 10 miles, skies were clear.

Two UFO's were in front of our house toward the East. The one on the right was higher in the air. It looked to us as though they were communicating to each other.
The one on the left disappeared. We tried to video tape the one on the right. Last night we went outside to check.
It was a cloudy night , so we thought there was no way that we would see anything. The were no stars, the moon was barely visable, but one of the UFO's was in the same area as the night before, however with the fog, or clouds, we did not get a good look. This is no joke.
Am trying to find out how to report it. There were UFO sightings in our town years ago that were investigated and are documented from what we have been told. A lot of people think it's a big joke, but my husband and I have seen them on three seperate times now.

A friend and I were in a boat fishing, when around midnight, we observed what can only be described as a glowing orange"disk". It seemed to hover for a period, no noise at all, and the color and luminosity never changed. For some reason, it was impossible to tell how large, or how far it was away.
after it hovered for a minute or two just above the tree line, it started doing amazing manuevers, speeding incredibly in one direction, only to come to a sudden stop, then reversing. A human couldn't possibly take that kind of "g" force. We were scared enough that we wouldn't even turn on the flashlight, not wanting to draw attention to ourselves.
After as few minutes of these manuevers, it sped off behind the trees, out of our sight. It left no trail in the sky. we waited at least an hour before we turned our lights on,abandoning our fishing trip.
I finally decided to file a report, simply because I quit worrying about the opinions of other people. Whatever Rich and I saw, It was intelligent. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that date of incident is approximate.

Purple and green blinking stationary object. At first, I thought that the object might be a satellite or star, but then I noticed that it was blinking. I went inside my house and grabbed my binoculars for a better look.
Upon closer inspection, the object had lights on it that were blinking purple and green, but no other features could be determined. I called my wife out so she could see it, but she couldn't tell any more about it than I could. After several minutes of staring at it do nothing but blink, I decided to go back inside.
((NUFORC Note: We suspect the witnesses may have been observing the star, "Sirius," in the southern sky. We receive many reports about that star. PD)).

Craft downed-emitting powerful-magnificent & intelligent lights in color. Affected witnesses. Craft was about the size of a hot tub, downed in thick vegatation.
This was very real and very intense. The object was illuminating red, green, blue lights primarily. They werent spinning, it was like the lights were fighting one another, but coming out from under the craft.
What was weird-the lights would slow-then speed, fade-then brighten. Immediately after noticing I directed my two colleagues to the phenemenon and one, the driver, pulled out his knife in panic-got out of the vehicle and stood in the bridge of the door, we directed him back in. Due to the intense adrenaline and fear-we got the heck out of there.
We were about 50 feet from this object and the next day we had sunburn on parts of our body. I have remained quiet about this experience for some years now. I live in a small town and would be shunned for such.
This event was very real and myself and the other two men (whom have families of their own) would be reluctant to come forward als! o. When something like this really happens to you-you have to consider what could happen if you told. I want people to know that something is out there.
And unless the military is landing aircraft in city limits of small town america-I doubt it's terrestrial. P.S) there was ABSOLUTELY no sound.
We were close and all we could hear was crickets.

the moon apeard far to north of its usely path and moved so fast that it could not be moon as I know it. It was a very bright cool clear night in march. I was standing on the north side of the home I was living in at that time.
The front of my home faceies the west and sits just to the east of the aircrafe approch to the Huntsville internation airport. I see small to very larg air craff daily. I had step out on the front porch for a smoke and decided to stept in to the shadows on the norht side of the house to releave my self.
As I stood there, facing north looking stright up in the night sky, a full moon with what seam to be a thin clod cover apeard just 15 deg. (approxaly) to the right of were I was looking. For the first few secands (1 or 2 maybe 3) I did not realize that the moon was to for north form were it normal path is.
Then I notice also how fast it was travling for east to west. It took a approxaly 15 to 20 secands to go from 15 degs to my right to 15 degs to my left. Then it disapered completly.
I told my wife of what I had seen and one or two others. I supose it may have be a reflexion, but who knows what it was? ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. We agree with the witness that the Moon should not appear in the northern sky, when viewed by a person in the Earth's northern hemisphere.
PD)).
